I’m not saying Henry jinxed us when he chose to send out two hundred holiday cards stating we were going to have a blissful Christmas at home…
Before we knew it, our peace and quiet went out the window, and we were headed to Mexico for a photo shoot my agent had neglected to tell me about. Of course, we had to deal with the man who didn’t want us to be together, and then we ended up back in LA, and we had to figure out what was going on with my brother, and, and… Okay, deep breaths. FYI, Philadelphia is nowhere near our home in northern Washington. Additionally, I wonder how Viagra really works, and what’s it gonna take to get a proposal around here?

There's a world to build, characters to develop, interests to create, and a topic or two to research thoroughly. Every book is a challenge for me, an opportunity to learn something new, and a puzzle to piece together. I want my characters to come to life, and the only way I know to do that is to give them substance—passions, history, goals, quirks, and strong opinions—and to let them evolve. Additionally, I want my men and women to be relatable. That means allowing room for everyday problems and, for lack of a better word, flaws. My characters will never be perfect.

Loved it! A great Christmas sequel novella to Out.
All Zach wants is to do is to spend December and the run up to Christmas at home,peacefully,with Henry.
But,things are destined to not go smoothly at all when he finds out he's been booked for a modelling job in Mexico.Henry goes with him,it might be a nice break,right?....except that they have Joseph to deal with.
(cue a really hot sex scene up against a window)
On their return home things might just be settling down to the start of a blissful Christmas period with,
-a ton of hot sex and lot's of stamina,
-an abundance of dirty talk....yes,I'm talking about Henry.He's all smooth composure on the outside but he's got the filthiest mouth.....just perfect as far as I'm concerned,
-these two have fantastic chemistry and I loved their banter,
Another upset courtesy of Mattie sees their peaceful Christmas put on hold but in the end they got the Christmas they wanted and I just loved the epilogue.....I'd love another novella about something that was touched on there.
If you enjoyed Out I would definitely recommend this little treat.

This book is stupidly hot!
Set more than a year after the end of Out, Out for the Holidays (which, as a novella, is still longer than some shorter novels) takes us on a ride with Zach and Henry as they celebrate their second Christmas together.
Their first Christmas was crazy, with Zach modeling and the boys settling in at college in L.A., so Henry and Zach are more than ready to spend December at home with their two dogs and one fat cat.
Alas, fate has other plans!
Zach finds out his agent booked him for a modelling gig in Mexico, where he'll have to work with the jealous, slimy Joseph. Thankfully, Henry comes with him, and things with Joseph come to an ... orgasmic (and sort of hilarious) conclusion.
Some follow-up stories mess with a couple's HEA, and while Out for the Holidays does contain some conflict (issues with Mattie being overwhelmed at school and the above-mentioned Joseph situation), Zach and Henry are SOLID. They're communicating better than ever and their sex life certainly hasn't slowed down.
I love Henry's filthy mouth as a juxtaposition to his gentleman persona. The man wears an Armani suit to fly but talks like a porn star: "If we die today, I want my headstone to make it clear it was your fault, you cock-hungry little slut." *gulps*
As a bonus, we get a glimpse of Adrian & Dominic, Noah & Julian (getting frisky in a hot tub!), and Casey & Ellis. (No, this book cannot be read as a standalone.)

Okay, I just have to say it. I may or may not have a huge crush on Zach. He's totally my flavor of "not quite right," but in the very best way. : )
This semi-short, holiday read took place about a year and a half after the events in "Out," showing their relationship going as strong as ever, which I loved.
Zach has been modeling the entire time, but he's starting to fray around the edges a bit from all of the scheduling pressures and time away from Henry.
So they both decided to take the entire month of December off, devoting more time to one another and their families, to help recharge their depleted internal batteries.
Except, oh boy, did fate have much different plans for them.
First, Zach's agent forgot to tell him about a week-long beachside photo shoot in Mexico, which didn't actually turn out quite as badly as he feared.
Let's just say that the sexy scene where Henry's skeezy friend Joseph finally, THANK GOD ALL-FUCKING-MIGHTY, got it through his thick skull that he needed to fuck right the hell off and stop pushing the guys for a 3-way made their time south of the border totally worth it.
Then there was a bit of drama with Mattie going MIA and running off to Philadelphia that they had to deal with, and the never-ending list of "OMG, what now?" seemed to go on and on.
But the book was so full of humorous moments and the MC's spending lots of quality time together that the drama never felt as if it was too much.
I'd been told that this 120 page read felt a bit too sex-heavy, so I was expecting much more than what I encountered. To me, there was "enough" steam, without things ever approaching that dreaded line of feeling gratuitous.
But Oh. My. God. The Viagra scene. A total snort-fest, that one.
“Safeword, safeword, my fiancé’s priapism is trying to fuck me, safeword!”Plus, the plans for the last Viagra tablet. Classic Zach. I loved it. Like I said, the boy is soooo not right.
This story read a bit like a "Greatest Hits of Camassia," as various characters from the previous books made appearances, so I adored revisiting and catching up with them.
If I did have to pick an aspect of the book that I could've done without, the same as with "Out," I'd have to say it would be Henry's use of "really old dude" words like 'dear', plus the entire 'boy' and 'daddy' thing. So not my thing, especially since Henry isn't *that* old.
Overall, this story was a total winner for me and I'd have to rate it at around 4.5 stars for all of the fun, wacky situations that Cara threw at our MC's here.
I would note that this is *not* a standalone story.

I'm loving my revisit to Camassia Cove and it's off-shoots. <3

I've read a lot of Christmas stories, lately, and to tell you the truth I'm kind of wanting to see the back end of this holiday. I was mildly concerned that because of Christmas burnout, I wouldn't enjoy the last Christmas story in my line-up (this one). I should not have been concerned. Out For the Holidays is a wonderful holiday story!
Like Out, Out For the Holidays is told entirely from Zach's POV. And just like Out, I loved being inside his head.
I can't get enough of these guys! Zach and Henry are just so damn special. I love their chemistry, their dedication to one another, their banter, their scorching hot smexytimes...just, all of it.
Out For the Holidays was humorous, hot, and actually had a touch of conflict that is often missing in the sea of fluffy holiday stories. Cara Dee's storytelling style just meshes with me and Zach's voice is perfect. He's got a snarky sense of humor and I never ever have trouble relating.
In Out For the Holidays, Zach and Henry have declared that they're going to spend all of December in Camassia Cove and just relax and be with each other and their family. Well, as you can undoubtedly imagine, the best laid plans often do not go, well, as planned. December ends up being quite an adventure for our guys! But they do still make time for each other and that makes my heart swell.
Out For the Holidays is about family, at its core, just as holiday stories typically are, and I love their dedication to Henry's nephew and Zach's brother and their gran, and Martin, who is found-family, and integral. To be part of that family is to belong.
Along with Zach, Henry, Mattie, and Ty, we also get to visit with some other folks from Camassia Cove and Los Angeles, including Noah & Julian (Noah), Dominic, Adrian, and Thea (Home), Lincoln & Adeline (Path of Destruction), and Casey (Uncomplicated Choices). It's always a pleasure to check in with these folks who know what family and community really means. It also makes me wish I had my found-family closer because I miss them bunches.
I have several highlights I would love to share, here, but in the interest of not giving away plot points, I won't. But I will say that Out For the Holidays is my favorite holiday story this season!

I’m not sure what to say. Even though I loved Zach and Henry’s original story, I unfortunately wasn’t very entertained by this novella. It was very over-the-top, the romance wasn’t as cute as it was before, there was way too much smut, and even Zach was a little annoying to me here. The Joseph drama made me role my eyes, the Mattie drama made me frown, and the general drama made me sigh.
I am ashamed to admit I skimmed a lot of this story… I was honestly just kind of bored. I don’t know how to explain it, but the spark was missing for me here. Where I loved every bit of writing in the original book, it all felt a bit forced with this novella and it just didn’t have the wholesome, sweet and funny vibes I was hoping for.
Perhaps the problem was with me, though, because plenty of other people did not seem to have these issues. Maybe I just didn’t read it at the right time.

A sweet holiday read where all Zach wants is for his family to be together for Christmas but fate keeps stepping in the way.
I had read Out not long ago and I liked it but it was just missing something for me. This one gave me what I wanted. I love Zach and Henry together and want to see them continuing their lives as they build their family. I would definitely read more about these two as well as the side characters.

I think Out For the Holidays: An Out Novella is a nice follow up and a must-read for those of us who are HUGE fans of Out. That being said, I found it to be a little unfocused. Cara Dee tried too hard to shove a ton of content in a novella format.
I love holiday codas, and so I couldn't wait to start this one. I adored the HOTNESS that was Out, and and Out For the Holidays: An Out Novella continued that light kink, suuuuper hot sex vibe with a Christmas spin.
I sort of wish this one was a short little 30-40 pager that was just focused on the holidays or a 250+ page story with all the ideas fully fleshed out because this book covered a LOT. We get some interesting twists with Mattie and the other characters, and there is one thing happening after another. It was a little awkward for me, even if I enjoyed the sex and the characters a great deal (we even get a hint of daddy-kink!).
All in all, buy this if you loved Out. I left the novella wanting more, which is never a bad thing.

It's approximately 18 months after Out left off, and our guys are solid. The boys are in college, Zach is still modeling, and everyone rotates residences between Camassia and California pretty smoothly.
What Zach is really looking forward to is a quiet holiday alone with Henry, especially since the previous year's holiday wasn't exactly relaxing.
But nothing goes entirely to plan for this couple.

Zach and Henry are back and they are having a crazy month!
Even from the title it's obvious that this is not a standalone, you have to read Out first for this to make sense. In this novella we see Zach and Henry during their second Christmas holidays - or better yet, their second December - as a couple. What was supposed to be a relaxing and uneventful month with just the two of them in Camassia turned out to be the two of them criss-crossing North America.
There are some fun times and a whole month's worth of craziness here. There is a conclusion to the Joseph issue that had started in "Out" and, even though Zach wasn't particularly nice about it or mature, I got a weird sense of satisfaction in how he handled the issue once and for all. No, it wasn't the best way but it was effective. It was also highly possessive. What can I say? I liked it!
Zach has a nice sense of humor where he uses self-sarcasm a lot. I also liked the affectionate way he used to poke some fun at Henry when he got uptight about little things. I think that those two are perfect together and complete each other. Zach helps Henry to loose up while Henry provides Zach with security and structure. When they are together they are a force to be reckoned. I have so many quotes and scenes I liked and want to share but I'm pretty sure I can't quote half the book, so I'll do just a couple of them:
"Camassia Cove" is steadily becoming one of my favorite series and no small part of that is due to the family feeling these stories have. Other characters from this small, fictional town make appearances here and I either want to learn their story or if I know it already I want to read it all over again!
"Out for the Holidays" is short and stress-free. It's not just a holiday read in my opinion, it just happens to be that time of year in the characters' lives. It's great for fans of the series, especially since we see so many of the other couples. I really hope we'll see Zach and Henry again, either in another book or at least as side characters, and since both Mattie and Ty are getting stories at some point, maybe I'll get my wish. The way the book ended was a solid HEA and a perfect new chapter for them. I'd love a peek at it. *subtle hint*

Even from the title it's obvious that this is not a standalone, you have to read Out first for this to make sense. In this novella we see Zach and Henry during their second Christmas holidays - or better yet, their second December - as a couple. What was supposed to be a relaxing and uneventful month with just the two of them in Camassia turned out to be the two of them criss-crossing North America.
There are some fun times and a whole month's worth of craziness here. There is a conclusion to the Joseph issue that had started in "Out" and, even though Zach wasn't particularly nice about it or mature, I got a weird sense of satisfaction in how he handled the issue once and for all. No, it wasn't the best way but it was effective. It was also highly possessive. What can I say? I liked it!
Zach has a nice sense of humor where he uses self-sarcasm a lot. I also liked the affectionate way he used to poke some fun at Henry when he got uptight about little things. I think that those two are perfect together and complete each other. Zach helps Henry to loose up while Henry provides Zach with security and structure. I loved Henry and Zach.
They were so adorable.
And this book was crazy hot.
I think this was my first holiday novella ever and I must say that I liked it a lot. And I loved that other couples made an appearance in this as well. It makes me want to go back and reread the other books by Cara.
I didn't realize how much I missed Henry and Zach until I read this book so this was a perfect follow up to their story.

This was gorgeous, adorable and all things sweet. I love Zach & Henry SO much ... I really could do with more of these two ! Martin is the best friend everyone would want and certainly keeps things light. I love that despite their age, their money and experiences they both manage to keep the love real. Their viagra scene was hilarious and worth a second read ! Really enjoyable- loved it

Really sweet holiday read, I loved getting to see the family dynamic between everyone! Super sad it ends here- I would’ve loved to see Zach and Henry with little ones of their own.

Zach has been bombarded with modeling jobs
and needs Henry and their mountain home.
We watch the chaos and the peaceful moments, the extravagance and the simple things that mean everything. I love the characters, the terrific tale, and the super hot sexy times.
Then, we see how special their Christmas will be.
But... what about the sex marathon? Oh, my !
Some highs and lows are next, and the hubbub with everyone trying to settle things and find peace, finally. There are too many things for me to tell you, so, just know that Henry and Zach are strong and getting stronger every day.
There is a lot to watch, and there is never a dull moment. We are introduced to many new characters, which will come up in new stories along the way.

A very fun and funny follow-up to Out, more than a year later. Zach is determined to be at home with Henry for the month of December, so naturally, there’s one thing after another happening. I enjoyed most of this, especially glimpses of characters from other books I’ve read. I don’t read the MF, so I wasn’t sure of them but it didn’t matter much within the context of the story.
The sex scenes were off the charts hot, although I could have done without the Viagra episode. It was kind of funny though. I almost felt bad for Joseph but I appreciated that Cara pointed out that it really was sexual harassment, and he was such an ass. Martin hasn’t changed but I still want his story. An excellent epilogue for Out.

It was nice to visit Henry and Zach again, but I didn't like it as much as the first book. Somehow in the beginning it was a lot of telling about what happened in the previous year and then, in the end there were lots of people I haven't heard of - nice perhaps for readers of the other books, but as I'm not interested in them it was rather irritating for me.
And with all that talking about becoming a family and having kids, will there be another book in this series?

Out for the Holidays is a direct follow-up to Out and it is not supposed to stand alone. Out left Henry and Zach together and this installment really shows their lives being intertwined. They are splitting their time between California and Washington and have the best of both worlds. Except, they are so busy with everything.
The chemistry between Henry and Zach is the aspect I like the best about these books. They just get each other. They like being with each other and their attraction to each other is so well written. Henry likes to be in control and Zach likes to give up control. Their age difference has them flirting with daddy kink almost as a joke, but these are dirty, dirty boys.
The book has a good pace and for all the outside elements pressing down on them, they still spend lots of entertaining quality time together. Joseph is back in this book and he was a little overdone for me and his presence may have gone on for a little too long and I didn’t quite get that Henry let Joseph treat Zach as he did. Mattie is featured here with a secondary storyline that was interesting as it went along, but there was something about it that didn’t quite fit into the flow of the rest of the book. But it all comes together at the end.

This is a very busy holiday season for Zach and Henry, Zach in particular.
After eighteen months having a relationship with Henry, he's ready for family, but his new job as spoke person and model is slowly killing him. He needs more time with Henry and his family.
Henry and Zach never thought that something would happened until Joseph came into the picture and there's some 'adventure' with Zach little brother, Mattie.
Good thing is, they resolved the problems the mature way Mattie is a lucky boy having Zach and Henry on his side.
I usually hates any conflict with third person and jealousy, but I think Zach and Henry handled it the right way, because they're strong together.
For a short story, I don't know, I felt a little hectic. The sexy times between Henry and Zach a little too much for my liking. Guess, I'm not a party kind of person myself.
So if you like sexy time in the party, drunk sex, with booze and all, you'll probably like it.
But this is a fun read though, I enjoyed how much Zach and Henry longed for a real family of their own.
The epilogue is kinda sealed it, their family is going to have more member.

My holiday reading kick is still going strong! Today I decided to read a follow-up holiday novella to Cara Dee's Out. As she warns in her description--this is not a standalone novella. You really do need to read the first book in this series to fully appreciate this story. It also helps if you've read other books set in Camassia Cove since the MCs from a number of those books pop-up in this one.
While a lot happens in this novel, it's also true that not much happens. Without spoiling anything, I'll simply say that while a few important milestones are achieved, the book--blissfully in my opinion--doesn't have the MCs question their relationship or throw their relationship into peril in any way. Instead, they remain strongly committed to each other from the start to the end of this novella.
All in all, it was fun to revisit these characters and see what they are up to since we last saw them. :)

3.5 stars. This was a really fun read, but it was OTT in crazy situations, had too many characters from all over Cara’s novels, and still left me feeling a little unsettled. It starts a year and a half after Out. Zach and Henry live together, and Zach is a busy model looking forward to some quiet time in Camassia for the holidays.
But his agent forgot to tell him about a shoot in Mexico and off they go. That part was so much fun, with a crazy party and there is an incredible sex scene. And they FINALLY told off Joseph who was still not getting the hint after all this time (WTF).
Then they are back, and having some hot steamy fun, but something happens with Mattie and off they go again. What? Come on! They finally come back afterwards and have Christmas at home. At some point they go volunteer and basically everyone in Camassia is present and it’s totally unnecessary. For instance, William and Kelly, from When Forever Ended are mentioned, and we don’t really see them, so why throw their names in?
And Martin went back to his ex and it was again OTT and ridiculous. Why?
At times it felt like an old school comedy where everything goes wrong constantly, and I wish we would have gotten to see them living their HEA, married with kids. It felt more like immediately after Out rather than 18 months later.

A lovely sequel to Out, in this one, Henry and Zach face more than they'd planned for during the holiday season, but Zach gets one thing he's been hoping for: a surprise proposal.
Definitely not a standalone, this book picks up where book one left off. There's lots of fun with Martin and his spreading the love everywhere, including back to his lover who steals his car at each breakup. And Mattie and Ty have entered college in LA, prompting a short side story about Mattie and a sudden career change. There's also more on Joseph and his plans to break up Henry and Zach, and eventually there's a quiet Christmas together with happy plans for the future. Oh, and some hot sex scenes in amazing places. :D
