**was gifted an arc from my publisher**

Simply fantastic. I'm not gonna spoil it since it's still in pre-order, but it's definitely a must read, can't wait for more kinda book.

The amount of research that must have gone into writing this is insane and it just makes everything feel so real.

All I can say is wow! This book was something that I couldn’t put down and had to keep reading. I’d have to say the only issue I have is that it has a cliffhanger. That isn’t the worse thing that can happen for sure in a book.

The characters are awesome and truly believable, and the author makes you feel as if you’re right there with them. I could actually see them as I read and that is what you want as a reader. To be able to see the characters, feel the characters and yes even be the characters!

The pace of the story is perfect. The action is riveting and leaves you wanting more. I will definitely be on the lookout for more from this author.
Rating: 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 (Most excellent read).

I was not paid for this review. I was given a copy for an honest review.

Great debut!

This is a great debut novel from K. L. Garrison. Jerik is the absolute worst of the worst. Puts me in mind of Count Olaf from the Lemony Snicket stroies. A true villain in ever sense of the word.

Wow, what an amazing story, though I truly disliked the ending!! Cliffhangers are never my thing because I am always impatiently waiting for the next story to come out. So, Garrison needs to hurry and get the next book written already!!!
The characters were phenomenal. I enjoyed reading and learning about the different backgrounds that are covered within in it. Two backgrounds coming together as one made this a very interesting read and it peaked my interest from the beginning of the first page. I loved getting to know each character, though I must say that I REALLY do not like Jerik!! He is a cocky and arrogant little butt and I so wanna kill him myself!! But to know what I am talking about, you will have to wait to purchase this book and read it for yourself!!
The story-line was incredible. For being a debut author, Garrison can sure twist a story like he is a pro at storytelling and has been an author for many years. This story was chock full of action, suspense and edge of your seat plot twists that either made me smile, almost to point of tears and really angry!! Angry was my strongest emotion in this story for sure. And as I said above, I am very extremely upset and so wanted to yell at the author for leaving it off like he did, so he has to hurry up and write the next one because I NEED to know and read more!! Yes, I am addicted and was drawn into this book!! It's for sure an unforgettable debut read and I highly recommend it!!
