Dang it, Mr. Stand... why must you play with my emotions with such a weird and abrupt ending!!!!

Also, I'd save the Russell kids from their stupid and ignorant parents... i'm just sayin'.

In the past two days I have just finished the seven ‘Hive’ books and have really enjoyed them. I had some doubts with the first couple of books and even now I still have some reservations.
Sometimes logic tells you something isn't right, with most SciFi/Fantasy/Paranormal novels I can suspend my disbelief long enough to enjoy the story. With these books the author has tried very hard to make the science sound plausible, but on anything except a superficial level, it just wasn't. There were several things that irritated me, for example, how easily the disease crossed the species barrier, and why just rats, cats and possums?
It didn’t help that I don’t like Zombie stories and this is a bit too close to a Zombie book. However I eventually I was able to just let the science go and enjoy Pepper and company. The only other slight criticism was at times there is a little too much sentimentality, but overall the series was definitely worth four stars.
