The only (minor) flaw of this book is that it gets slightly preachy for a couple of pages about why the "war on drugs" is good for politics and doesn't actually help the problem. Other than that, See Night Run is a winner --- great characterization, interesting plot, thought-provoking issues, all wrapped up in a fun cop drama.

I waffled between 3 or 4 stars on this one. On the one hand it was intriguing and I read it really quickly because I wanted to see what would happen. On the other hand, it had tons of formatting issues that actually caused confusion - it is so frustrating to feel yanked out of a story because you have to reread a simple sentence or piece of dialog - it also had some basic storyline type problems - a character shows up in a place she could not possibly have found in order to save the day - and it uses some pretty trite methods to hammer home a point. Also, despite the authors clear efforts to make the central character a hero, I didn't like him that much.

This is a fairly harsh review for me, but the fact is I had a really hard time deciding if I like the book or not. It does have points in its favor, but in the end, it isn't that good. Very close, though. My husband would say, "good dig, no tater."

A drug cop questioning putting people in jail for using and dealing dope is odd. The same cop falling for the dealer he busts is odder. Me caring very much about them both is odder still. I did tho.
