Ghost Detective Jude Byrne is enjoying a night out with friends and family on one of Salem’s famed ghost walks. It’s all fun and games until the last stop of the tour when he comes face to grave with Salem’s resident vampire, Kingston Gamble. The vampire tomb has several safeguards, including a grave cage, meant to keep him resting in peace.
Psychic Copeland Forbes senses a presence he’s never felt before in the old boneyard. Rattled by the experience, he rushes his family home, only to dream about the bloodsucker. Convinced the century-old creature of the night is waking up, Cope is anxious and on high alert.
When Kingston somehow escapes his fortified grave, it’s up to Jude and Cope to find the vampire. Along the way, they meet up with an old friend, Luca Pennington, who knows a thing or two about being Salem’s resident vampire.
Can Jude and Cope stop the vampire and the evil plan surrounding him, or will they become the newest attractions on Salem’s ghost walk?
Sick of the slogging rat-race of her 9-5 job, Pandora Pine put pen to paper (literally!) to make her ambition of becoming a romance novelist a reality. I could not put this book down. The mere fact that I was caught off guard with not even KNOWING about this book was the best surprise ever. And then I opened this book at 1:33 am and just couldn't put it down. This was so Jude and Cope, but better. This was like book one all over again. Haunting, and discover and fresh! For me, Jude and Cope would always have magic between them, but overcoming everything that set them at the opposite ends of a dial is what made them perfect for each other. And for me, the appearance of Luca, resident vampire (I love me some Luca), just made it all that much better.
Almost two years after he first appeared in Blood Song (Cold Case Psychic Spin Off #3,) Luca has ties to the one person Jude and Cope have every intention of finding. Everything is not always as it seems and for once I used more than my imagination to try and solve the case. Yes, Pandora is famous for throwing you off the mark, and she deserves credit for that. It keeps the entertainment fresh.
The last few chapters were intriguing and revealing and I swear if I highlight anymore parts, this book will be yellow with moments I wish to preserve. I encourage anyone who has not read Luca's book to get a copy and discover how it all began. Did I shout it enough from the roof top? You will LOVE Ghost Walk. This book is highly entertaining and recommended. Considering this is the ninth book in the Haunted Souls series, I look forward to more from this world and a glimpse into Cisco and Luca's life. (Hint, hint, Pandora, a novella.)
I voluntarily and honestly reviewed this book without bias or persuasion from the author.
I've mixed emotions about Ghost Walk. I enjoyed it immensely, but I'm a bit sad now I've come to the end of the Haunted Souls series, however I'm happy because there was more Greeley and Luca!! It was a great story but I couldn't help feeling the bad guy was a bit of a wet blanket! Hopefully there's more to come from this series.
I was hooked from the blurb (as always), and once I started, could not put it down!! The mystery and suspense element was so intense, and haunting, and the pacing was very well done. Can't really say anything other than I was captivated from start to finish! And as for the guys, there is still all the sweet and tender intimacy between Jude and Cope, as well as all the big family vibes from the whole cast we know and love. This latest instalment in Jude and Cope's life is unmissable!
Another strong story from Pandora Pine. I cannot believe that Haunted Souls has gotten to book #9 and so much has happened to and for Jude and Copeland. Of course, the road to a HEA never runs smoothly and the Ghost Walk brings to life a myth that even the psychics and witches struggle to comprehend. A ghost walk around the famous haunts of Salem brings the group to the grave of Kingston Gamble. feared to be a vampire, chills run through Cope and he suddenly has to deal with fear of the unknown and the possible danger to his family. An escape and missing body ratchets up the need to figure out what is happening and what is possible when it comes to Kingston. There's a real good twist that has the gang having to think outside of the box. One of the big things that stand out for me in this book is that you can really see how far Jude has come from when we first met him as an angry, self serving PI. Now he's married to Copeland, father to baby Wolf and truly a part of the West Side Magick family. As is the norm when it comes to Pandora's book, the sense of family holds strong as they all work together to solve the case as well as support each other with everything whether it's childcare, a hot cup of coffee or being available to research into a possible vampire in Salem. Definitely recommended! Can be read as a stand alone but with all of the character connections and history from throughout the series, I recommend reading in order. I received an ARC and am happily giving a review.
Ghost Walk is another fantastic book in Pandora Pine's Haunted Souls series.
This story starts with the men on a Ghost Walk through Salem which results in another mystery for them to solve.
This is a story with vampires, witches, and magic, entwined with heart, love, and humor. The mystery is fun, with a vampire and the hatred from his family. The mystery is intriguing and well developed throughout.
I can't get enough of Pandora's writing. The writing style is great. Every book, starting way back with Dead Speak, is full of entertaining characters and storylines. The characters are lovable and charming and keep me on my toes. And with each book, and each new related series, the reader is treated to new characters and new developments in the relationships. I can't get enough of Everly, Wolf, and the velociraptors. They add all sorts of fun to the storylines that I never knew I wanted. Or needed. Seeing all the men as fathers is as delightful as can be.
Ghost Walk is a read-in-one-sitting kind of book. Pandora Pine will keep you riveted throughout this fabulous ghost story and more of the men we've come to love along the way. Basically, you can't go wrong with these books if you like some humor with your mystery.
And if you aren't familiar with my reviews or the author's books, take note that I do not love intense or scary paranormal books. Pandora Pine continues to be a 5 Star read for me with her paranormal light style. All of her books in this, and her other paranormal series, are filled with paranormal elements, loaded with mystery, and always includes danger for the main characters. That said, it is a light feel throughout, never too intense or scary.
Well, a book featuring Crisco and Luca and for good measure another vamp. Another good adventure featuring lots of the old gang. I liked the very end but not sure how I feel about Luca now. I am just a sucker for Vamps.
Ah, where to start with Ghost Walk, the ninth book in the Haunted Souls series? Jude and Copeland are still finding their feet as fathers to 8 month-old Wolf and balancing their relationship with dad duties. So this adventure naturally begins with a family and friends evening out...on a Salem ghost walk. Everything is going fine until the last stop when Cope's Spidey senses start tingling and he becomes aware of a presence he's never felt before…
There is just so much to love about this book. I'd been intrigued about how vampires would really get the Pandora Pine treatment since reading Luca and Cisco's novella - a spin-off in the Cold Case Psychic world. I'm delighted to say the curious circumstances of Kingston Gamble's story (and how the mystery is solved with Luca's involvement) is every bit as imaginative and spooky as you would expect, with tons of suspenseful moments throughout the investigation.
Given that we're now nine books deep into Haunted Souls, I don't think there's much more I can say about Jude and Cope as characters apart from I love how much these men love each other and have grown together over the course of the series. There's still the spark of their initial romance (both the sweet/tender and the hotter moments) but they absolutely belong to each other now; and to their son who they'll protect with everything in their arsenal. And, of course, the continuing theme of found family is at the forefront as Jude and Cope not only rely on each other, but also the band of brothers and sisters they have in the West Side Magick clan, Cisco Jackson, Madame Aurora, etc.
You don't really have to have read Blood Song (Luca and Cisco's story) before this, but I'd recommend it for the best reader experience. What I will say for definite, though, is that Ghost Walk is another fantastic escapade which sees Jude and Cope dashing around the Witch City, rushing to solve the 130 year old mystery with their own special brand of paranormal shenanigans, heat, heart and humour. 5*

Great Continuation - With An Intriguing Twist On Vampires. This is Book 9 of this particular spinoff series and something around book 30 or so of the overall universe, so if you're particularly sensitive to any remote spoilers of previous books... you don't want to start here (but should absolutely read this entire excellent universe). If you're just looking for a good story with a decent entry point and don't mind reading previous books to get the details on what you've missed so far... this is an *excellent* story to start with. Many/ most of the characters from the overall universe make an appearance here, particularly the recurring ones, and the usual hijinks of a police procedural-ish tale unfold. Though with seemingly more pop-culture references this time around, including an excellent chapter-closing line about going off to an interview with a vampire. And yes, there actually is a remarkable twist on the overall vampire mythos, along with some excellent commentary about said mythos to boot. Truly an excellent work and very much recommended.
This was a wonderfully suspenseful mystery with a great ending. I was enthralled from the very beginning and couldn’t put the book down until the very end.
I loved that Luca and Cisco were brought back and played a large part in the story.
I had it all wrong on what was going on with Kingston Gamble and even towards the end when it was down to two “possible” suspects I still got it wrong… I loved that about this story.
Jude and Cope work wonderful together, but it was nice to see them reach out for help when needed. I enjoyed the part Madame Aurora played and was happy to see not only her, but also the West Side Magick Clan all work together again.
I do have an unanswered question regarding the “dream” that happened early on in the story.
This book serves a dual purpose…it addresses Luca’s “illness” as well as giving the gang a new and different magical puzzle to solve.
Cope and Jude are faced with considering whether vampires actually exist after going on one of Salem’s famous ghost walk tours. When the body of a supposed 130 year old vampire comes up missing from his specially encased grave things take a frantic turn.
The puzzle and the steps to solve it are intriguing. However the squabbling between a few of the guys is really getting old and annoying. These men are supposedly chosen family and best friends but they fly off the handle, hurl accusations, insult each other and generally act like adolescent boys instead of the seasoned professionals we are supposed to believe they are. It actually seems worse in recent books. I’m not sure why the author feels the need to have them behave this way to each other. It just doesn’t work for me and it is really interfering with my ability to enjoy these books now. Unfortunately it’s the overriding feeling left after reading the book instead of the messages of family, love, sacrifice, etc. that should have stood out. I hope to see a reduction in the juvenile behavior in the next book or I may have to be done with the series.
Ghost walks, magic, vampires, revenge and so much more. I am so loving this series as Cope and Jude and all the rest of the crew find ways to right the wrongs of the past. Here we have a very twisted tale of revenge going back more than a century and the revenge plot still flourishes today. The world-building is terrific, I immediately am in their world of psychics and mediums with witches and vampires and a very robust story-line that kept me reading the whole book in one sitting.
I am enjoying watching the intersections between Jude and Cope, Ronan and Tennyson, Fitzgibbon and his son Greeley (who is really an amazing young man now) and Cisco and Luka and the rest of the crew from West Side Magick. They are an amazing extended found family and they grow and develop as the stories move forward.
This story has an amazing ending and is such a great read! Highly recommended!
This is the ninth book in the Haunted Souls series and would be best enjoyed if read in sequence.
I was gifted this book from the author and i freely give my honest opinion and review
This is my favorite book in the Haunted Souls series so far and I was fully engaged from the first page to the last. Ghost Walk is beautifully written, exciting, emotional, gritty, has multiple surprising twists and turns, is full of suspense and as always the characters are amazing. Cope and Jude are facing their most intriguing and convoluted case yet as they struggle to figure out the truth about Kingston. Even with the help of all of their friends they are facing an uphill battle to solve a mystery that is more than 130 years old. I love how we again see how much Jude has matured and settled into his life with Cope and Wolf as well as what amazing fathers they both are. I also love learning more about Luca and seeing how great his relationship is with Cisco. The ending is perfect and I can't wait to read the next book in this wonderful series.
I voluntarily reviewed an advanced copy of this book.
I don't know how Pandora does it... But each book in this series is even better than the last one. Talk about not seeing the "villain" coming in this one. It's just a testament to how fantastic her characters, world building, and word craft are. Jude and Cope are settling into father hood and then Cope gets a weird feeling. While on the ghost tour Jude takes them on, as a fun night out, they are drawn into the story of Kingston Gamble. Kingston dies from consumption in 1895 and supposedly becomes a vampire. Fast forward 130 years and some one has released Kingston from his earthly tomb. The Magick gang gathers and sets out to solve the mystery of Kingston Gamble. Then Luca is kidnapped. Are the two cases related? Will they discover whose behind Kingston's release? Will the discover a cure for vampirism? Well my lovelies, you have to read the book and find out. Don't forget to enjoy Jude and Cope's sexy times too. They are hot as always. Another five star read for me.
Pandora Pine has such wonderful story telling ability with perfect plot formation, pacing, and a cast of fantastic loveable characters. This is another engaging book that I couldn’t put down and read in one sitting. Jude, Cope and the usual West Side Magick characters, with some others from previous books, are once again pitted against a worthy adversary but this time a vampire is added into the equation. They are lead on an adventure like no other and what a twist in the tale - the identity reveal of the “baddie” blew me away. At no time did this “baddie” register on my radar! As for heat level, all I can say is Cope’s “pew pew pew” Jedi-pirate-cowboy finger guns resulted in a Hamlet like soliloquy from Jude and a very hot and steamy moment, with a little chuckle thrown in for good measure. This is a brilliant book and series, that I highly recommend.
This author never disappoints in the amazing Cold Case Psychic & Haunted Souls universe. As always a well developed, great flowing story that holds your attention with intriguing paranormal aspects, a strong and loving group of friends and family, and a unique, loving, and sexy main couple (and their adorable son!). I always enjoy visiting this author’s version of Salem and this awesome family group-it was even better here because we see more of one of my favorite characters from an earlier CCP spin off novella too! Overall a great book in a great series and I highly recommend you read everything in this universe if you haven’t already!
I love the Salem-based stories by this author. Jude and Copeland are a fantastic couple, and it's been great watching them become loving husbands and fathers. This time around, the men are investigating a possible vampire in Salem. This means that we also get to spend some time with police chief Cisco and his beloved vampire Luca. This book has chills, emotional outburst, humor, and so much love. Jude, Cope, and little Wolf are a sweet family who I adore. The rest of the gang is here, too, of course. I love the interaction and support they all give each other, even when tempers flare. This is a fantastic addition to the series, and I'm so happy with the way it ended. As always, I recommend these books and this author, and I think this installment is one of my favorites!
Okay so I had the evil person figured out, but I didn't figure out the why of it. What they did was pure evil. There were some really scary spots. Something truly amazing happens to one of our characters and it was a true cause for celebration. Jude and Cope are such a strong couple. I love how Cope has taken to Wolf as if he was his own. I loved that all the kids are so well loved. Everly breaks my heart that she is unable to express what she is seeing/feeling as she is so young. Even though this is the 9th book in this series and like the 35th book set in this world, they are all still fresh & exciting.
ARC provided by the author in exchange for an honest review.
I don't think I have ever read a Pandora Pine book that I haven't loved and this one was no exception, as usual I couldn't put it down and had to read it to the exclusion of all else and now I have the usual feeling of disappointment on finishing it. The story was gripping and I loved that the whole family made an appearance with the exception of Ronan's dad and Kaye and it was nice to see the lovely Greeley again but I was especially pleased that Bertha was back in this book with her smutty humour😂 Can't wait for the next instalment.
Jude is determined to go for a ghost walk in his new city of Salem. Cope his husband is not so sure about this and tries talking Jude out of it. Guess who wins? At the last site of the walk they wind up at an old cemetary with a grave that sends Cope into almost a panic. There is an atmosphere that he has never felt before. Thus begins another adventure for our beloved heroes as things get more dangerous and strange. Pulling in their friends to help after a nightmare that has him in a panic. There is kidnappings, vampires and evil that is out for revenge, An excellent story that is sure to please my fellow fans of our Salem heroes.
Another fantastic addition to this series. Jude and Cope are back with another mystery to solve, this one involving a vampire! I always love catching up with Jude and Cope and their stories are always full of wonderful twists and intrigue. This one is full of twists as Jude and Cope set out to find the resident vampire, Kingston, and find answers to many questions along the way. Watching them work so well together and seeing what wonderful fathers they are to their son is a real treat. Can't wait for more from this incredible series. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book.
Ghost Detective Jude Byrne, Psychic Copeland Forbes and their friends are enjoying Salem’s famed ghost walk when Cope feels a presence at the grave of supposed Vampire Kingston Gamble.
After a nightmare about Kingston, Jude and Cope awake to news that the grave has been destroyed. Kingston is free. Fearing for their family they set about hunting the Vampire but what if he's not the villain in the case but the victim.
Another excellent Free Kindle Unlimited book which along with the usual gang also features Luca Pennington, made Vampire. This is one serious twisted plot with an end you won't see coming.
Pandora has done it again creating entertainment that takes the reader away from the reality of the world today. And she does it with the gang again Jude and friends are back and doing what they do best. I loved vampire aspect of the story line and the scary spooky feel of the opening scenes. I loved the reference hint to other famous vampires like Mercy Brown from Providence. The writing left nothing to be desired and I was so happy to read something that took me away from my isolation if only for a short period of time. I received this as an arc and freely left this review.
This book left me exhausted, through it all I don’t think Cope and Jude got more than a couple of hours sleep, I found myself so sucked in to the story, I got secondary exhaustion! It was good to be back with the Salem crew, it’s been a while since Luca and Cisco have been front and centre. It’s a totally different take on Vampirism and I loved it. Creepy cemeteries, sociopathic bad guys, ghosts and magicking! What more could we want? .... Well...... the answer to Greeley’s secret would be good!
Have there really been 9 books in Cope and Jude's series? Pandora Pine's characters are as fresh today as they were in book one. A companion series to her Cold Case Psychic series, Pandora Pine writes a compelling story with a mystery that doesn't get solved until the end. I kept guessing wrong. Ronan and Ten and the Scooby gang from the Psychic series joins in to solve the story of Salem, Mass. original vampire. As does Chief of Salem police and his vampire lover. The story starts in a graveyard and ends with a wedding. Pure Pandora Pine. Pure fun.
Brilliant! Just absolutely brilliant as usual. I'm not going to summarise the book, the blurb is for that. The mystery and suspense kept the pages turning. Pandora always manages to weave a tale that keeps the reader guessing right until the very end. Jude and Cope and the rest of the team had their work cut out for them with this one. I love these boys and revisiting with them each time is always fun. They are clever, witty, hot. I'm very glad to see what played out in the end.
This is the 9th book in the Haunted Souls series so of course there are ghosts and magic but this time vampires are added to the mix. The psychics in the group investigate what magic has been used to turn Kingston Gamble - a 150 year old missing body and Luca Pennington - from Blood Song, into vampires and the detectives who did it and why. We also get insight into how Cope and Jude are dealing as new parents. It was great to see all of the gang again and can't wait for the next book.
*WARNING* intended for mature audiences The best part of this series, for me, is the paranormal aspect. Jude used to be such a buttwad, but his character has totally changed for the better. When Aurora was added into the friends, it made them all better. This story has the whole gang and everyone was needed. The story has so many twists and turns! I no more than thought I had figured things out and was wrong with reading g the next few pages. This not only has paranormal, it has love, friendship, and a giant mystery.
I was a really good story but again the overlooked vital information, just forgotten. The Man in robes leads him into a building suburb looked like a church with a RED door. Not even one of them mentions it again. Also there is no mention of Jude's Phoenix. His loved ones get burned but Jude's not healing them. In the beginning few books it was the biggest thing and Jude's power, now nothing.the mystery in and of itself was really good. I really liked King and I hope humans Max come back to visit.
Now this is what I love about Ms Pine’s stories...it was engaging, fast-paced, laughter, love, mystery and family!! I read this in one sitting!! I have always loved Jude and Cope and their love for each other. This was an amazing story and I was absolutely thrilled we got more of Luca!! I wish we could have gotten part of the story from his or Cisco’s viewpoint since so much of the story revolves around them but I love the happy ending for those two. It was very well deserved!! Great story!!
