The best moments are the ones we don’t see coming . . .
Isla is perfectly content with her solid, stable relationship with Logan. But when they challenge each other to inject some spontaneity into their relationship things quickly get out of hand.
Soon, Logan is determined to find the ultimate romantic gesture. Can he truly surprise Isla when she knows him so well?
Lexie is enjoying being in a steady relationship with Nick. But organising a birthday surprise for him at the same time as taking on more responsibilities at work hardly leaves her time for anything else. When the birthday plans don’t go as expected, Lexie finds herself evaluating both her relationship and her career.
And she’s more surprised than anyone by the conclusion.
Hannah Ellis spent many years working in childcare before deciding she'd like to write books. When she's not busy writing she likes to read, drink tea and eat chocolate. She also enjoys yoga and jogging.
The key cause of angst is miscommunication, as many reviewers have indicated. However, I feel that the h was correct that the H put other people ahead of her. I also felt that most of the other female characters were really self-absorbed. They were proprietary about the H and didn't consider the h when they made plans for him. The H seems like a sweet, but weak guy who better grow a spine, fast. I agree with the h's father that the H isn't good enough for her -- he may be smart, but he hasn't made the effort to put his girlfriend first. I don't see these two as a long-term couple.

I enjoyed this instalment in the Loch Lannick series and really think it would adapt really well to a TV drama. Hannah Ellis has a gift for writing a really in depth series. She delves into some tough relationship issues, but does so splendidly. Jumping straight into book 7 now.
This is the sixth book in the series and I wasn’t sure how much more there was to come. I was pleasantly surprised after finishing this one though that there is another box set 7-9, so I don’t have to say goodbye just yet to these characters which I am thrilled about.
Everything seemed solid with Isla and Logan as well as Lexi and Nick but in this latest offering, things aren’t as rosy as they were with the couples. It was heartbreaking at times that the couples didn’t open up more about their feelings to save all the unrest and upset they are feeling. We get to catch up with all the other regulars but the story ultimately focuses on these four. It portrays real life that everything doesn’t always run smoothly and there are definitely a lot of crossed wires!
Surprises at the Loch as the title suggests, holds some surprises in store not just for certain characters but for the reader also. Being a dog lover, the thread to do with Jasper played havoc with my emotions. The story also inspired me to walk more as there is so much beauty and nature on our door steps that we should definitely appreciate it more. The ending was gorgeous and has made me excited to get to the next book in the series.
This was a cute read with multiple couples that have been established in the first books so definitely read those first. Miscommunication is again a trope here and it was pretty frustrating, there were multiple times I wanted to shake or scream at the characters because everything would have been fine if they would have just talked and said what they were thinking. However, that’s real life! Every time I caught myself getting annoyed with them, I realized I would have done the same lol. Talk about self reflection in a book!
Just another great book from Hannah on the Loch series. These are a great read, and once i picked it up, I didn't want it to end. Now the countdown to the end of Feb for the next one.
All the detail of the views across the loch, the enjoyable nights in the pub, and how the family progresses, and the relationships develop.
Definately one to read, well worth starting at the beginning...........
I thoroughly enjoyed this book in the loch lannick series. It was another fun romp through Skye. An easy but enjoyable read, with a feel good ending as always.
Love the characters in this series, they seem so real and normal. The books have real humour and heart warming moments. I love the way wee Aaron is written making him seem like a real loved and normal boy. I loved the chocolate sharing moment.
