Better to have loved and lost than never loved at all. Isn’t that what they say? Why does nobody have advice for what happens when the love you lost walks right back into your life?
I was in love, once. We were too young, too uncertain. My NHL career wasn’t compatible with her law school ambitions.
Promising to marry Helena Worth was the best decision I ever made. And watching her walk away? The biggest disappointment of my life.
Ten long years later, my brother is marrying Helena’s best friend. A whole summer in our small town brings long lost feelings crashing over me.
Falling back in love with my first girlfriend is a dangerous game.
My love of hockey ruled my heart once. Putting my career first again might break hers completely.
I loved Home Matched (Salt Lake Pumas Book 4) by Camellia Tate. This novel is about an NHL player named Sam, who has returned home to the small town where he grew up in Canada for the off-season, so that he can help his younger brother, Pat, build a house for his soon-to-be wife, Charlotte, who went to school with Sam. Pat and Charlotte's wedding is near the end 0f Sam's off-season, and Sam has not spent more than a week or two back in his hometown since he has been in the NHL. He's made arrangements to workout at his old high school's ice rink while he's in town, and he'll be staying with his parents at the house where he grew up. Sam will be serving as Pat's Best Man for Pat and Charlotte's wedding, which is one of the reasons that Sam is nervous about being back home for so long; Charlotte's Maid of Honor is Sam's ex-fiance whose name is Helena, and he has not seen or talked to her in ten years.
Helena started dating Sam shortly after she moved to their small town during their senior year of high school. She met Sam at a school dance on the Friday evening after her first week at school there, when Sam asked Helena to dance. They soon became friends, and then Helena used to help Sam study. Sam had a difficult time with writing due to his being dyslexic, and Helena really enjoyed helping Sam. Sam and Helena started dating a short time later, and were a couple for four years. By the time Sam had been drafted into the NHL by Edmonton, a couple of years after they had graduated from high school, Helena was going to Edmonton to visit Sam on the weekends when she could get away from her studies at the university where she was majoring in Pre-Law. During her third year of college Helena and Sam got engaged. During her senior year, Sam found out that he was being traded to the Salt Lake Pumas, and shortly after he excitedly told Helena about the trade, the two ended their relationship; not because they were incompatible, but because Helena had always wanted to be a lawyer, and she was planning to go to law school in Canada, and then planning to practice law in Canada, too. Sam had hoped that Helena would travel to Salt Lake City to finish university and then attend law school there. When Helena refused to move to Utah with Sam, because she was set on being a lawyer in Canada because that had always been her dream, and they both knew that Sam's dream had always been to play hockey for the NHL and that he had no control over when or where he might be traded. So Sam and Helena broke up, and they hadn't talked to each other since then.
What would happen when Sam and Helena would see each other when Sam returned home for the summer? This novel is the story of what happened next.
I really enjoyed this novel about Sam and Helena, in fact it is my favorite of all of the books in the Salt Lake Pumas series, so far. I really loved all of the characters in this novel, and the story seemed extremely realistic and romantic. I definitely recommend this book, especially if you love romance!

Home Matched is book 4 in Salt Lake Pumas series. Teammates from the previous books are in this story briefly but the reading in order is not required to enjoy.
This story spans twenty one years. Sam and Helena are high school sweethearts. Their love is true young love. Helena wants to be a lawyer and Sam is an upcoming NHL player. When he is drafted to Salt Lake City, Sam assumes Helena will move from their small town in Canada (Lunengrove) to wherever he plays. Now ten years later and going home for summer, Sam is the best man in his brother's wedding. Helena now lives back in Lunengrove and is the maid of honor in the wedding. They haven't been in touch since their breakup. How will Sam and Helena deal each other having to prep for the wedding?
We time hop around throughout the telling of the story, getting perspectives from both. It helps us the reader get to know these character, both how they were and how they are now. Spending time together they realize the love they had is still there but has changed and so have they. It is interesting to see their thoughts as teens versus thoughts in their thirties having established their careers.
Home Matched is a standalone that explores young love growing and changing to middle age. Their perspectives throughout make the reader an active participant in this bumpy road to happily ever after.
I love reading books by Camellia Tate and have read a fair few now but I have to say whilst I loved the story line of this one the writing wasn't the best. I found myself struggling with the actual wording. Now it may have been me being tired or it could have been CT making it difficult to read; I don't know! But putting that to one side ...
This is another great book from CT. The story line is great, totally sweet with an undercurrent of burning sexual chemistry that could take off at any second. The secondary story is really romantic as well. Our main characters are totally cute and unspoilt by their years. They have been written with obvious love for each other and their friends, family, jobs and lives in general. They have a great cast of supporting characters some of whom we have met in previous books but other who are specific to this book but all of them are exactly what are needed to make this a love story to make your hair stand on end.
With her writing CT leads you, as the reader, to the heat of the moment on more than one occasion until you're breathing hot and heavy with the characters waiting with baited breath for them to take the next step. You'll have to read the book to see whether they do or not!!
I loved this book and can't wait for the next in the series. I'm totally recommending this and all Camellia's other books to you xx

Remarkable job Camellia, thanks for sharing this little jewel with us.
Sam returned home to Canada during his off season from hockey to help his brother build a house and help with his brother’s wedding as best man. Helena, Sam’s former fiancé, was maid of honor for the wedding and was also helping with the wedding plans. Helena and Sam has been high school sweethearts and engaged but they had broken up 10 years ago when Helena knew Sam would be moving to play hockey and she didn’t want to move. She was now a lawyer and Sam played hockey in Salt Lake City. They ended up spending a lot of time together and they realized they still have feelings for each other but his life is in Utah and her life is in Canada. Can they make a long distance relationship work?
I give this story 4.5 stars as the formerly engaged couple come back together after 10 years apart and realize they still love one another. Their careers are equally important and they have to decide if their love is strong enough to survive not being physically together all of the time. The author presented this dilemma well and showed the thought that went into their final decision. The epilogue into the future was a perfect ending for their story. I received an ARC from the author and I am voluntarily leaving this review.
The Second Time Is Better - Sam and Helena broke up when they were young due to the conflict of their careers, but even though years later they had succeeded in the careers, they were still unfulfilled in their personal lives. This story will take you on their journey of rekindling their friendship and their relationship.
I really enjoyed the way Camellia wrote the story to focus mainly on their relationship, rather than their time between the sheets. The trials and tribulations Sam and Helena went through to get their happily ever after, made it feel more realistic and believable. I will highly recommend you read this book and I believe will make a really wonderful romantic television movie.

I really enjoyed reading Home Matched (Salt Lake Pumas Book 4) by Camellia Tate because it was such a great book about Sam and Helena. They had been high school sweethearts and had broken up because of each of their career paths. Sam was drafted into the Salt Lake Pumas and Helena was on her way to becoming a lawyer. Ten years had past and each were reunited due to his brother and her best friend marrying. The feelings were there for each of them and all summer, they danced around those feelings. This was such a sweet book and I really hoped that it would work out for each of them. I received an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest opinion. I loved it and I highly recommend reading it.
This was the one I had really been looking forward to. And it did not disappoint! Sam and Helena lived through the typical high school puppy dog love story that didn't survive long distance. When Sam comes home for his little brother Pet's wedding to Helena's' best friend those feelings once again come to play. There are a whole lot of funny and heart warming scenes throughout the book that keep us rooting for Sam to get his second chance. What didn't work in the past is still a big issue in the oresrnt.
3.5 stars It’s a good story but it just never kept my attention focused on it, I didn’t feel connected, or any emotion towards it as I read, like if it’s a heart touching part, I didn’t feel it, if something was funny I didn’t laugh. I just didn’t connect. A good 350+ page story usually takes me a day or two to read, but this one for just shy of 200 took me 4 days. No triggers happening ... It’s a clean story.
I loved this Salt Lake City Pumas story by Camellia Tate! Like in the ones before (don't have to be read first) she spins her magic in her words and gives us the best two characters for her story. What could be any better than Sam and Helena? In love through high school and beyond then broken up for 10 years and they meet again. Will sparks fly? What about careers in two different countries?
I received and Advance Review Copy of this book in exchange for my voluntary and honest opinion.
I received an advanced copy in exchange for a review. I liked this one so much more than the previous book. The characters had so much unfinished business. Through out the book you get the impression things ended for one reason but you get a bit of surprise.
I think the book needs some more feeling. Some more depth to the characters.
The story is very sweet. I was glad when they finally took the leap.
I received this book as an ARC in return for my honest review. It was a little surprising to see the story take place in a different setting. I liked the difference in this book. The love story between Helena and Sam was well written. Once I started reading, I had a hard time putting the book down. I would recommend this whole series to my friends and family.
Another great book to the Salt Lake Pumas series! The author once again brings strong characters in Helena and Sam and brings her scenes to life with her detailed and descriptive writing. She had me hooked from start to finish reading their story. I loved and would recommend this book/series.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book. All opinions in this review are my own and freely given.
This is definitely Camellia Tate’s best book so far!! Loved it!!
This author once again hits the net with this latest addition to the Salt Lake Pumas series. Helena and Sam where great characters and we see them grow over 21 years from teenagers to adults in their 30s. Camellia Tate is an absolute amazing writer as she brings her scenes to life before your eyes with her detailed and descriptive writing. This is definitely her best book so far. Loved it! I don't want to spoil this for anyone so I'm just going to say, if you read anything in this romance genre, definitely make it this one!! Happy reading everyone!!
I think this may be my favorite book so far by this author. I have enjoyed every book that I have read by this author. She always has well written story lines and entertaining and engaging characters. The characters in this book are my favorites so far. I can't wait to see what the author will come up with next.

What I liked? The past and present time lines. Sam and Helena were engaged and had planned to marry until Sam left to play hockey and Helena had her own career aspirations. Ten years later, they are both back in their hometown, Sam just for the summer. Are they older and wiser? Whose career is the most important? All good dilemmas. Recommend.
Book 4 in the Salt Lake Pumas series is another great read by Camellia Tate. It's a sweet second chance small town romance, and you really feel the love from the characters. It was so engaging that I read it in one sitting. A must read for any romance readers!
I received a free review copy of this book from the author and am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
This was a very nice second chance romance. I liked the interaction between the characters and the love story seemed real. The writing was okay but a few minor issues with language made it hard to read sometimes. But all in all a good reading experience.
An amazing fast pace book four and second chance romance in the Salt Lake Pumas series! The story line is engaging, emotionally deep, and well written with exciting twists and turns. The characters are likeable and real; their chemistry is off the charts! Definitely recommended!

Was a bit surprised about the ending. Like how he played his last game in the NHL but his girlfriend of 7 years did not attend. He was retiring…..Also that they waited until 37 to have kids. Totally understand her career was important but she couldn’t have taken a year hiatus to be with him? I think I would have taken a different approach.
I really loved Sam and Helena. I wanted so much for their story to have a happily every after. This one is probably my favorite story in the whole series. I received an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.
A second chance romance for young love that was broken up by their career paths. Sam and Helena's story was a sweet one with flashbacks to their past and how they reconnect now.
