I loved a man and I thought he loved me. So, his cheating-ass ways were a big surprise to me. Even more shocking, was who he risked it all for… somebody I never had a reason to believe, was a whore.
But I blame me...
Because I'm usually better about who's in my space, knowing that those in relationships, sometimes wear more than a single face. They wanted to tap dance on someone’s heart. They probably should’ve thought long and hard about that part. So now because of what was done… it’s only fair that I have me some fun. I guess now they need to be shown the error of their ways. To the point that they’re asking to see better days.
Cue the deep sigh…
Now, in the middle of my storm, something new fell in my path. Something beautiful, something amazing... he came with a taste of something I've never had. There’s absolutely no rushing, to the beat of love, present in my view… But once my mission is complete, who knows what my heart will want to do?
The only disclaimer I’ll offer is this…
“You'll either love me or hate me by the end of this tale, but I operated off of one goal, only ... that was to prevail.”
I had up my previous bio for years! It was nice and all, and gave details of my life. But it was so structured! And I’m kinda not. Because of that, I’ve decided to change it to something that really gives you a glimpse into who I am. Is that cool? K, good. So, here goes:
I’m a Bay Area girl. Cali is in my blood! I moved to Vegas in 2017 (No, I wasn’t following the Raiders!) to see how another way of life would be, after my only kid . . . the love of my life . . . decided he was joining the Marines. Can you believe that?! Sigh. Wait, deep sigh! I know some parents await the day for their kids to leave, not this Mama. That was my ace, my bestie in male form. I had to hit the reset button. But here I am. He’s thriving. I’m ‘trying’ to thrive. Lol! No, but really. This relocation was good because I’ve never lived away from home. So, I needed to grow, cultivate a little. It’s working for now.
I consider myself a novelist. And that’s because a novelist doesn’t just write in one genre. For the most part, I write #InterracialRomance, with a primary focus on #BWWM, as my leads. However, I have written a few novels that fell comfortably in the #AfricanAmericanFiction realm, showcasing some #BlackLove. In short, I love building stories. I like to say that I “spin #Sexy and #Suspense into a single web.” The two dynamics have to co-exist in my stories, or I’m bored. And you know if the author is bored with their own work, there’s a problem! Trust me, I’ve done plenty of rewrites when that’s happened.
On my literary journey, I just hope to always write the stories that women find relatable. Characters who are strong, but vulnerable when they need to be. Family-focused, and intelligent. Basically, mirror images of myself. Ironically, writing these characters, have helped me discover things about myself along the way. I think that’s why I write as often as I do. It’s almost like peeling back layers of me as I go. And to stop that process, kind of hits the pause button on me . . . my life . . . my existence. I have to be a moving machine at all times. Does that get stressful? Absolutely. But is it rewarding and are there many teachable moments? Absolutely!
Ever need me, reach out. Ever got questions, I’m never too busy to respond.
OMG but Nova and Leo's story was suspensefully engaging! Perri Forrest wasn't holding back any punches with her latest ENGAGING title, "Lethal Love: Deceit Can Be Deadly"!
I had to read this suspenseful story back-to-back to find those hidden 'easter eggs' I didn't pick up on during the first read!
Wow, I really enjoyed Lethal Love. It was something different. It was a romance, but something else too. The book flowed well and definitely held my attention. The lead character Nova was likable. She was smart and sweet, but could be dangerous and calculating. She had zero tolerance for disloyal people. Leo fell hard for her and I absolutely loved their relationship. They were definitely meant for each other. The other characters aside from a few were just a hot mess and I found myself shaking my head at their shenanigans. Ultimately, ones ulterior motives become exposed. Great job Perri Forrest! I look forward to reading your next release. I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
Title: Lethal Love: An Interracial Suspense Author: Perri Forrest Publisher: P.F. Reviewed By: Arlena Dean Rating: Five Review: "Lethal Love" by Perri Forrest
My Opinion:
'Lethal Love' was one good dramatic romance suspense that will keep your attention all the way till the end. Be ready for a little bit of it all from 'pretense, hate, secrets, lies, blackmail, revenge, murder, betrayal, deception, twists, turns, lust, sex, and scandal.' With an ending that will definitely leave one speechless and saying what? Well, this is what can happen when you have a scumbag husband, nasty BFF, two-timing lawyer, an extortionist, an envious co-worker, and you will have a good read.
Let's not leave out some intriguing characters that will have you shaking your head and saying, really? I will say that this heroine and hero were some sharp ones who could carry out their plans. To understand their plans, you will have to pick up this long story and see how it was conducted that each one of them got what they wanted in the end.
All in all, this was some good story that this author gives her readers.
Wonderful read. I stayed up way longer than I should have to finish this book. Nova is my shero and I dnt care what people think about that. If we're all being real we can all relate. Now Leo, dang, I sort of figured he but I wasn't sure but once confirmed I was not surprised. Now, you gotta read the book to know what I'm talking about. No spoilers here. I loved me some Leo. He was the man. This book was good from start to finish and Nova, was just human. No judgement here. It is what it was and she did what she felt she needed to do. No one gets to dictate how one chooses to respond when they have been messed with on all levels and disrespected in the worse ways. Hurt people hurt people so people should think before they act. I highly recommend this book. I will read it again. It was somewhat of a departure from the other Peers Forrest novels I have read. I hope to see more of Leo and Nova and I cannot wait for Chazz's story.
What drew me to the book was its cover, which said, “This is my kind of story” - A well-written, page-turning novel. The plot has everything: genuine, all-inclusive, and etched in your mind characters, great dialogue, and expressive scenes. The backdrop is Las Vegas where devious Nova Levine, arrogant Drew Levine, inquisitive and caring Leo Kastellanos, and the mysterious Brock Davis will hit an impasse, where the past and the present will collide, packed with pretense, hate, secrets, and lies, blackmail, revenge, murder, betrayal, deception, lust, sex, and scandal. The story throws a sudden curveball, leading up to an ending that will leave you speechless, remaining us that the grass always looks greener on the other side of the fence. If you think you know Nova, think again. I love this character, despite her dilemma, and cannot wait to see what the future has in store for her.
The story was so well written, I loved Nova's character, she had a past and learnt from it, her grandmother taught her a lot before she was incarcerated. Nova did not like the way she was cheated on and to my utter amazement and may I say joy, she did something about it, the betrayal was real from two people she held dear. The way I see it she dealt with them good and proper. The whole story just had me turning the page to see what would happen next and I wasn't disappointed. As for sex on legs, Leo Kastellanos he was everything and more, fell in love with him from the get go. A brilliantly written story, highly recommended!!
Wow... just wow, I really didn't like the way this book was written it was wayyyyy too confusing There were so many different viewpoints with all these characters for ultimately no reason and it made hard to understand and track the timeline without really giving us a backstory or reason to why all the character were there and what they were doing and thinking I found myself constantly forcing myself too continue reading and often had to re-read entire sections to try and understand what was going on. Overall I think this could have been a great story but they just added way too much. If you disagree sorry I'm not trying to judge or hate this is just my honest opinion.
Nova Skai Sinclair is the perfect amount of innocence... Sexy...beautiful.. Smart..successful.. And cunningly deadly..she is femme fatale... Mixed with vulnerability and sass and a miles ahead of those who thinks that they have her on the ropes...she plays the perfect victim while making sure her enemies are none the wiser....Drew the scumbag husband... Royce the nasty bff, Raquel the two timing lawyer....Brock the extortionist... Kyle the envious co-worker.. All thought they had her right where they wanted her....in comes Leo ...and he is her knight.. May or may not be in shining armor... But he sure had I speaking in tongues...😍
Settling never settles an individual (prolonged adventure)
Learning to be honest aides in longevity and happiness
Know that your heart is a treasure and should be treated as such (non negotiable)
Drew - opportunist with a rare jewel Royce - jealous for someone else’s life Raquel - champion of justice but a manipulator Brock - available for sale to highest bidder for lifestyle Kyle - resentful and determined to destroy career Nova - opened heart to cancerous leeches but loyal until ... Leo - fixer, protector and lover
WOW, this book is wonderful. I want to applaud and welcome Ms. Perri Forrest back! The book is well written and held you in suspense the entire time. Waiting for that proverbial shoe to drop on Nova The characters were complex and the ending is stunning . Leaving you wanting to re-read the book immediately because of all the hints you missed and wondering if certain rumors' were true. I know this is a standalone but I did not get enough of these characters. I need MORE Nova, Leo and the Cantons. Maybe Chaz can be book 2. It's a must read. I rate this book 5 stars plus
This book read like a suspense movie full of drama, lies and betrayal plus a woman on a mission Nova was not to be played with raise by her grandma who was not a joke herself she wanted love so much Drew was what she settled for thinking he was the hole package but finding out he wasn’t and her best friend (not) had to pay the price of being disloyal and disrespectful and greedy wanting her life she got what she deserved the twists and turns was fantastic I loved how everything worked out and surprised who Leo turned out to be love me some him this is a five star read
Nova’s husband and best friend did the ultimate betrayal. Nova was hurt and dealt with it the only way she knew how to. Then enters Leo. A good guy who gave her everything she needed. Leo and Nova had very good chemistry. This book had me hooked from the first chapter. I hope there is a part two. I liked the twist at the end. There is definitely more to Leo. I received a ARC from the author in exchange for a honest review.
Was not expecting that ending. Just an awesome read. When will men ever learn you can never beat a women when it come to live and revenge. Plus never have your girlfriends close with your man. The story and characters were so developed that you really got into it. This is why whenever Mrs. Forrest has a book come out, I have to stop the one I'm reading to read hers. You will not be disappointed if you get this book. Waiting for the next.
This was a good story. Being a fan of this author, it always makes me anxious to see what she is about to drop on us next. The versatility in her writing is so amazing, so I always know we are in for a treat and this did not disappoint. I’m curious to see what spin offs may come out of this story because there can be plenty. Well done Perri!!!
Listennnnnnnn... this book right here! This book right here! My girl Nova was ruthless. Funny thing is the fact her boo thang was just as cut throat and she doesn't know it! I truly would've love to see her cousin Gianna as the surprise Leo had for . The six degrees of separation in this romance/suspense was very intricate and well developed!
This mystery book was great. I thought Nova was going to be founded out about what she had done, but she was to smart always planning her next move. A lot of characters. Loved Nova and Leo. Would have liked to known what fate Kyle and Raquel was going to meet. The ending was a surprise..
This book is truly a page turner. From love and romance to suspense and murder. The reading of this book kept me turning the pages in anticipation for more. I loved the way the plots turned. I recommend reading this book especially on a weekend where you want to just get lost in a book.
Not impressed with story or characters. Was not developed and Leo backstory was not explained neither was Nova or how she knew his sister and the cousin and Mandy it was just too many holes
Wow! suspense, drama and romance gift wrapped for us in this story. I must admit that I got a little worried for Nova, but she handled Brock like a champ! Leo is the ultimate King!! Wonderful story. Great Job!!
Nova Levine was a different kind of twisted. Her husband done her wrong with her best friend, no less! What's a girl to do in retaliation? Why murder the bi*ch, of course, and frame her lying, cheating, no good husband for it!
Good book, I haven’t read a book in awhile from this author but she never disappoints. Liked the concept, I just would have liked that Nova told Leo her secrets. Need a 2nd book when they both go on a rampage.
I'm partly speechless at how great this book was. Everything about Nova I absolutely loved especially the savagery of her mouth. I loved that the twists occurred straight through to the epilogue. This book is in my top 5 best reads of the year. Highly recommend
The suspenseful storylines which tied everything together was awesome. As always Author Perri Forrest has given us another great read. I'm so ready for the next installment.
Solid 4 stars. There was murder, intrigue, betrayal, and romance all rolled into one book. It was very entertaining and I secretly was rooting for Nova. She’s a tough one but sensible. Leo is a perfect match for her.
Story was okay. There were many characters in the story, to me, didn't make the story good. Nova was taught to hurt people who hurt her. So her husband found out. Her love story with Leo, another man in her life, was very good. The ending was a surprise.
This was a great mystery book with a lot of twists and turns. I recommend others to read this book. This was my first time reading one of Perri Forrest books and I will be reading more. The characters just brought so much to the story. The ending was amazing.
When I tell you how much I love the bad assery of this book!!!!!! This main lead is just too bad ass having me clutch my invisible pearls! This really is a lethal love
