Such a great conclusion to the Pinnacle duology! I loved getting to see Hayley’s relationship grow with all her guys and actually liked the addition of Andros. I was def surprised by the Callum storyline but really enjoyed it and thought it was great!

I think Ann left room for more books in this world, and I definitely wouldn’t be sad about that. I think there are so many more stories she could tell!

Thanks to the author for gifting me a copy. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

DELINQUENTS TURNED FUGITIVES was a great conclusion to the Pinnacle duet. While I did find it a little less action-packed compared to the first book, the banter between Hayley and the boys made it equally entertaining, and it reserved its own surprises! I wasn’t expecting it, but I now have a new favorite: Andros. The scenes between him and Hayley were explosive and definitely the hottest in the entire duet. I was a bit hesitant about having a new addition to the harem, but I completely changed my mind the more I read of these two interacting. I still think I would have liked to see a little more of Hayley with Z and Gray, but overall I am pleased with the development of the relationships and the way the story wrapped up.

Now I want more! There are some aspects that have yet to find their resolution, which make me hope that we’ll be getting more stories in this world eventually. I sure hope so because this has now become one of my favorite heist stories.

Thank you to the author for gifting me a copy. All opinions are my own.

There’s a special magic when you read a chunky duology in a week and you don’t even feel it. That’s how much fun I had reading these books. The characters were amazing, and my love for them continued in this sequel. I even ended up loving the newest addition to the harem, Andros. His scenes with Hayley were amazing. One in particular was chef’s kiss. If you know, you know.

However, I do feel like the plot was a little slower compared to the first book, and I while I did love Andros, I think turning him into a love interest took away from some of the others a little, especially Gray and Z.

This turned to be one of my favorite heist stories! I wouldn’t be sad to return to MAD in another book!

Thank you to the author for gifting me a copy. Opinions are my own.

This was such a great finale to the duology. I really loved this series and Hayley and all her men. The book picked right up where the last book ended, right in the thick of things AKA the heist of the century. I love the way the characters all work together and use their powers to get themselves out of some crazy and often dangerous situations. Hayley's number one goal is still saving her brother and she'll do anything to find the cure, even if it means releasing hordes of vampires on innocents. I will say this part took me by surprise, especially considering how many die and how Hayley then has to deal with more loss. It was a dark part of the book and was kind of glossed over a bit, then again Hayley did not have time for guilt, being on the run and all. We got a new addition to the harem in this book which really was a welcome surprise. I wasn't sure how everyone would feel about her just adding a new member but it didn't seem like any batted an eye or cared one bit. Personally I thought there would at least be a discussion but these guys are really wrapped around her finger and she could get away with anything. I'm glad we got a HEA and I'm even more excited that a character we meet-Lysa-will be getting her own series sometime this year. This was a very fun and exciting read even if I wish a few loose ends were tied up. Particularly when it comes to Hayley's relationship with Potts, her therapist. The two really seemed to bond until Hayley's choices sent them in opposite directions. I wish the two could have reconciled or something but it never happened. Overall I loved this series and I cannot wait for the next stage in the offshoot series, hopefully Hayley and her men will make some guest appearances. They were really fun and hilarious. The games they played on and with one another are unlike anything the magical world has seen and I loved every minute of it :P

AHHH this series is so addictive! Watch out for spoilers below if you haven't read book 1 yet!

Delinquents Turned Fugitives started off write where the first book left off: with the crew being caught red handed at the core of the Pinnacle labs. Their entire escape of the Pinnacle building was action packed and full of plot twists (Callum!!! 😱). Now the tables have turned and the vampires are out again on the loose, this time looking for revenge.

Hayley and her boys are hiding. Now that they finally have what they desperately wanted, it's time to shine the light on the enemy: the Pinnacle. The slow burn romance between Haley and all her love interests continues HOT in this sequel, and at the same time her relationship with each of them develops into a deeper emotional level. The scenes with Malcolm and Evan are extremely spicy... I found myself looking forward to those! At the same time the jokes and pranks with Gray are one of my favorite parts of the story, their build up is AHHH !!😍 When it happens it's totally worth the wait!

Thank you to the author for gifting me a copy for review!

RHR bingo 2.

I got bored of this one pretty quickly. Could've done with a re-cap. I didn't feel like re-reading the first so went straight in. Continued from a cliffhanger, so got to grips with the story and the characters pretty quickly. There was something about it though that made this more of a skim read, slowing down at the pranks. For the majority this felt like it was going to be a two star and then there was Callum becoming an ally and Matthew joining his ranks. Open ended with secrets everywhere. I'm curious about the vamps.

3.5 stars: I am a bit behind on my reviews, but life seems to be intervening quite a bit latelt😂 Now, this second part actually focused more on the relationships and it felt like the characters matured a bit. I cannot say that I loved it, but it was a better experience than the first book.
There are still some unanswered questions, which I suppose would allow for a spin off or perhaps a different story that would tap more into it.

Another Ann Denton book I couldn’t put down. This was such a great compliment to the first book and I especially liked that it didn’t take place at the academy. I like it when the characters are on the move.

It definitely delivered in all the spicy aspects, plus it’s funny, emotional, and full of witty remarks supplied by Z!

I thought it was a good finale for the series, but I do hope that we see more in this world because I’m kinda obsessed!

The Pinnacle duology is a MUST READ for PNR RH fans. These books are so much freaking fun. Ann keeps things extremely interesting with unexpected new characters! I really enjoy when an author takes the story in a direction I never could have predicted!

The loose ends were tied up with the conclusion of this duology for sure, but I would definitely be down for more from this world Denton has crafted. Totally here for it!!

Thank you so much to the author for sending me a copy of the book in exchange for an honest review! All thoughts and opinions expressed above are entirely my own.

Perhaps it was the fact that I forgot what happened in the previous book but this volume fell flat for me, at least.
Having said that, I will still rate this book 3 mediocre stars because while I have my issues with it, it isn't overall a horrible book.

The first book was better (although a bit more dragging than this one) in plot, because of the heist. This one feels like a feeler chapter 🤣🤣🤣 it’s medium-paced, more like to develop each relationship Hayley had with the guys.

At some point, I thought Callum would be added to the group but then he brought up the age gap (which, in case he hadn’t noticed, he’s a vampire so he should suck it up) and the ship sunk down like a titanic :(

I’m not sure if there’s going to be another book about Hayley? Because the thing with Claude and Callum isn’t finished and we are yet to see the, ahem, ehe ☺️ between Hales and the boys iykwim :p

ALSO, the next book is going to be about Lysa? Heh. Watch Matthew be one of her boys 😌😌😌😌😌

Overall, I can’t give less than 4 stars because this book makes me laugh like a moron at 1am hshsshshshshsh I love them all— especially Hales/Gray rivalry *chef’s kiss*

Okay so one good thing about this is that they got Claude......although they had to get him twice. I liked the Vampires and how they teamed up at the end. I'm sorry she lost her mum but from the sounds of it her mum's just been a shell for years anyway. The banter is still there and I liked how all the relationships fully developed in this.

This was great to dive in after finishing the 1st book! I loved that the duology left space for more in case the author ever wants to expand. Once again we see Hayley with her sass and banter, which I love! Her personality is so witty and the dynamic with her love interests is great. I enjoyed learning more about the side characters! Hayley’s growth in this book was so satisfying, I loved seeing her interact with the other folks. I must learn more about these relationships. Definitely recommend this for anyone that loves development in relationships and banter!

Huge thanks to the author for sending this my way!

Nonstop ride

If you recall from part one we ended on an intense moment. Were Hayley and her crew caught? Were they going to escape? That's right where we pick up in part two and let me just say the opening chapters are intense (borderline stressful). Just how I like it. In fact this entire book is one narrow escape after another. It felt like hopping on a rollercoaster that lasted 5 hours. I enjoyed every second of it. There are some of the same things we loved from the first book, namely the ongoing prank war between Hayley and Gray (so funny), the punny back-and-forth dialogue between Hayley and Zavier, the sweetness and soulful moments with Evan and the sexy 'controlled' care by Malcolm. Add to all of that deliciousness, we get to watch the relationship build with Andros. I wasn't sure what role he was going to play when we met him in the first book but I promise you he will be capturing your heart and your interest real fast in this second book. I'm not sure how she pulled it all off but somehow this book managed to feel like a pretty intense adrenaline filled ride while still allowing plenty of opportunity for heat, steam and swoon. Sounds like the perfect combination to me. Thank you Ann for some seriously entertaining escapism!

Laugh... and then laugh some more

This story is so beautiful in it’s ability to weave emotion and humor. I literally laughed out loud so many times I’m sure people think I’m crazy. Well I am... for these books. They are a twist on the witch and supernatural world and highlight so many unique spells and skills. I love the concept and creativity.

The prank wars are epic. I’m quite jealous to not have that in my life... but also I’m not sure I could pull off the T-Rex arms. There is some conclusion to the story as we close one chapter, but there are a lot of plot points that begin to stick up making you want to grab them and know what’s going on there! So I’m excited to learn that the saga isn’t over and that we are even getting some new characters 💜.

The heat ramps up, they are faced with moral choices, and the crew has to learn to trust one another. I enjoy their dynamics and found a lot of light in this book even with some of the heavy topics also present. If you need some laughs with a good set of characters, then give these 2 books a read.

Single Narrative. Med heat. No MM. family and friend connections. Funny.

Do you know that feeling? You've just finished an awesome book. The next day you order the sequel and then the waiting starts and then all of a sudden someone messes with all your plans and there is this risk you'll have to wait a whole week before getting the sequel in your hands? Luckily that scenario didn't come true. The postal service was really early yesterday and that meant that today, one week after finishing the first book, I could dive into the second.

And once more I absolutely loved this book! That's mostly because the author really found the perfect balance. There is time for romance, there is time for action, there is time for emotional reunions, there is time for epic battles, we have spectacular escapes and very hard heists and we most of all have a bunch of characters who really care about each other, fight for each other and are in this together, come what may.

I still think that the book would be even better if there had been a little more politics. It's quite clear there's something really wrong with the political system and the people in charge, but since our characters are mainly focussed on their goal and not getting caught we don't get to see too much of it. I hope that the author will one day return to this world and will maybe have a character at its centre who is actively involved in said politics.

However, I absolutely love how smart our heroes need to be to get everything they wanna get done done. The people they're up against know what they're doing, they've been evading rules and laws for quite a lot of time and are unafraid of getting their hands dirty. Our characters therefore need clever plans and they most of all need to trust each other and use each other's strength. This kind of intelligence is a huge turn on so give me countless more books like this, please!

Great series

Loved this series and the nonstop action. The world the author brought us to was extremely interesting. I wish there was another book. The only reason I rated this a four is because there were so many questions left on answered. Nothing major just little things. I want a real resolution as to how there lives are able to continue, will they always be on the run?. I wanna know if she continues to have issues with Claude. I wanna know what Callum has in store. So there are lot of opportunities for a spin off here.
I do not wanna give away any spoilers. So that makes writing reviews little hard. Enjoy the why choose aspect of this, It was a little different then previous that I've read. In this one, it was all M/F. Which is fine. There were simply Multiple Love interests. Each relationship was built out, lots of chemistry and the sexy times were melt your kindle hot. Each totally unique and not rinse repeat. There were so many laughs in this book, but also a little sadness. Like real life. Each of the characters had harsh backgrounds.
I didn't have a favorite, as each was my favorite in the moment. Whether they were pulling pranks, protecting her, or other. Each seemed to hold a key to a pc of something she needed.
This story is told soley from the main characters POV. A definitely recommend the series. It must be read in order, it is a duet. Evan, Zavier, Malcolm, Gray, and Android are all awesome. Fun read with intense battles.

This was the first reverse harem romance series I've read and I really loved it.
I am always intrigued by settings in a magic academy. So the idea of a heist and multiple love interests in addition got me hooked to start reading. And i love all the boys. Yes all of them. They all have different characteristics and handle their romance with Hayley in their own way. Definitely couldn't settle for one as well.

I always enjoy if there isn't just smut in fantasy romance novels but also a plot developing and that is what I got here with this series.
(But when there is smut it is highly enjoyable, because we don't read the same scene over and over again. No sir, we get to enjoy all the charcters with their different kinks and magic abilities to make out with Hayley.)

I would really enjoy another addition to the series, since we never got to the point of all the guys working on Hayley at the same time. Even if I liked the plot besides the smut, I just was expecting them to hook her up together since the idea was mentioned in the book several times.
Furthermore I just want to read more of the whole dynamic between the characters and the complete "on the run" - situation.

The only minus point for me was Haley in the beginning of the series. She was trying a bit to hard for my likes to be a badass and act like it... I would have loved to read that her inner monologue would have opposed her own behavior instead.
And I would have loved a bit more depth to the magic system and the way it works.

But all in all - Definitely worth reading it.

Was book 2 really necessary?

So I still liked this book and it was good to see most things resolved, but I felt like a lot of book 2 was used to establish characters for a spinoff series. Book 1 could have been slightly longer and wrapped up the story in the same way. Not sure if I will read Lysa's story (guessing either Matthew or Callum will be one of Lysa's guys).

For the plot: I had fun with it. The pranks between Gray and Hayley were great. The banter with Zavier was great. The obvious love from Evan was very sweet. I felt like her relationship with Malcom in this one was a bit of background noise and the introduction of Andros didn't really seem necessary to me.

I would have liked to have witnessed the discussion with Matthew when he regains his sanity and realizes that his little sister is dating his best friend and several other guys, though. I also felt a sense of disappointment at the lack of love confessions. They existed in various ways but I like these stories to have that direct "I'm in love with you." "I'm in love with you too" scene, which was missing with a few characters. I was sad when Hayley told Zavier she loves him and he didn't say it back.

Overall I would recommend this duet. It was fun

Eeep! What a fantastic follow up to an amazing book! I loved every moment of mystery, intrigue, plotting, pranking, steam and suspense.

This book grabs your attention from the very beginning and keeps a firm grasp throughout. I love all of the characters and getting to see them grow. Hayley has such a sweet and unique relationship with each of her guys and each one of them is my favorite for different reasons.

Seeing Hayley woo Z was one of the scenes I looked forward to the most and I wasn't dissapointed. I was also team Andros all the way and boy was the wait so worth it! The pranks with Gray made me laugh so hard I had tears and Malcolm with his games makes me want to fan myself. And sweet sweet Evan... gosh that boy gives me all the feels.

There were so many unique ideas in this book that made it an absolutely refreshing read. The heists they performed were so beautifully thought out. I can't wait to read more books from this world!

Compared to book 1, this one was a lot slower. There wasn't as much action, which is to be expected since the crew is hiding out and trying to get people to see the truth. I still couldn't stop myself from devouring the story. There was a lot happening still, and it made the 600 pages feel so short. The ending was a more open ending than I liked, especially in regards to Claude, but I hope that means the author will write another book. Andros is my new favorite character. At first, I didn't like the fact he was being written as a love interest, but the banter between him and Hayley quickly won me over. The only problem with adding another guy to her harem was a couple of the guys fell by the wayside. I really wish there would have been more focus on Hayley developing her relationship with all the guys equally. There weren't enough scenes between her and Z and Gray. Still loved the book and will definitely keep an eye out for more stories from this author.

Hayley is one lucky chick!

Is it bad to envy a character? I mean Hayley is smart, bada$$ and has 5 men fawning over her so....Also can I have her guys??? I love them all.

So in this book we have action, action, action. Then there's the laughter - the prank war between Gray and Hayley had me laughing so much. My favorite was Gray's t-rex prank. I fell out of my chair I was laughing so hard. Then there's the sexy scenes. Andros melted my underwear off - I mean he definitely rocketed to my #1 spot among the guys. Then there's Malcolm - so sweet. Evan is her steady rock and the scenes with Z on their dates melted my heart.

There are new alliances made, things go from bad to worse, there are some loose ends but the big question is does Hayley save her brother? Well you'll just have to read to find out.

Destined To Fall - in love with these characters...!

The second half of this duet is just as dynamic as the first.
The author shows an incredible talent for portraying the differently developing relationships and distinctive personalities, while injecting plenty of humour and emotion, into a complex storyline with ease.
The world building continues on point and the twists and turns as you navigate through the story to the conclusion leave you gasping and unable to put the book down.
While this particular story concludes here, the author leaves room for a return to these characters in the future as well as the promise of having some secondary characters feature in their own book.
I was torn between devouring the book whole and wanting to prolong my time spent immersed in this story. A definite page turner you don’t want to miss.

Delinquents Turned Fugitives: Pinnacle, Book 2
By: Ann Denton
🎧 Audiobook Narrated By: Hollie Jackson
Length: 12 hrs and 56 mins
📖 Ebook Read Using Kindle Unlimited

This narrator is not my favourite, but she did do a decent job with this duology.👏

I found this book a bit too drawn out. I loved the story but found the writing to be too descriptive, maybe? Maybe I felt like it could've had smaller chunks edited out to keep the pace at a better flow.

I really liked the progression of the friendships, trust, and love within the group. Lysa was a fun addition. Callum was hugely intriguing!💥

I would've liked more resolution to this story, personally. But I still really enjoyed the story and character progression. The magical system was still infinitely fascinating. ✨️

I have been patiently waiting for this book to come out. I needed to know what will happen with Hayley and her crew. Did they escape the Pinnacle? Let me just say that this is not only intense with a slow build to the story but it also is funny as heck. Which is why I took my time reading this book. I did not want to miss anything that happens. Which I am glad I did! Z just has no filter and always says some funny stuff. Oh and Andros is just yummy and many other steamy moments along the way. I love the pranks Hayley and Gray get into. However, we still have to find out if Matthew gets rescued. We also have to deal with tragedy and crazy vampires. There are still some secrets left unsaid but hopefully we will find out about that soon. I cannot wait to see what will happen next.

I guess this was always planned as a duet but I still left feeling at the end like I had a bunch of unanswered questions which I didn't love. In the last few pages there was just too many simple explanations to tie a bow around things, and as a reader I was left with a feeling of meh about it. I expected to give this one five stars. I rounded up for the first book so this time I'm rounding my 3.5 stars down to three.
I understand the author makes note at the end that she's found to write other books about some other characters but when I read a duet and I'm on book two I have a bit of an expectation as a reader that my questions raised in the book will come to a close, and this book didn't do that. Sooooooo, I probably wouldn't recommend this duet to a friend.

I really enjoyed this book. This is book 2 of the duet, and you need to have read the first book to understand what is going on.
This book carried on exactly where book 1 left off. Hayley and the guys have broken in the Pinnicle to retrieve the cure for her brother.
This is a long book and a huge amount happens in it. Hayley spends a lot of time spent with each of the guys so you do feel like you know them all really well.
Some of the scenes dragged on a little for me, but there were also loads of funny, romantic, intriguing and sweet moments too.
Although it doesn't end on a cliffhanger, there was a hint that the team will appear in other books.

We pick up right at the cliffhanger from the last book wondering what's going to happen to Hayley and her crew after successfully(?) breaking into the Pinnacle. I love how that aspect of the story wrapped up, but everything else afterwards didn't build as nicely as the previous plot. I get the next step is obviously getting Matthew out, but I was hoping for better planning. Feels like most of the book is focused on her and her relationships with each guy (not that I'm complaining), and am just a tad disappointed given how well the author builds the storyline. The HWA wasn't a complete ending, but I'm just satisfied enough if Hayley's story ends here.
