It was the book cover that caught my attention and after reading the first few pages, I knew I was in for a treat. I don’t usually ‘go blind’ when reading a book but that’s what I did here. I didn’t even read the synopsis. I just dove in and I was rewarded with a great story about the Nagalian Race, a reptile-kind of being. Dianna and Drax are two of the most strong headed characters I’ve read and when they collided, it was pure drama and passion.

Two of the things I love the most about Shedding, were the world building for one. I felt it. Their way of living, how they look, how they behave and that’s a mark of a great storyteller. And the societal message that rings true of today’s state.

Shedding has the meticulous plot that you would find in sci-fi books and the romance in love story.

If you are looking for something different in the the best ways, READ THIS BOOK. You won’t be disappointed.

Looking forward to the next!

As a half Nagalian, Dianna is desparate to understand her true identity, and learn more about mutation, passed down through the generations and how to control it. With depression and suicidal thoughts starting to take hold, she hated what she was.... until she met her alpha mate! The journey takes her on a dark path, where people are hunting her and dark family secrets are revealed.
A great, unique, paranormal romance with plenty of dark secrets to uncover. Well written, strong characters, with a creative plot that keeps your full attention throughout. An easy, enjoyable read. Good job!

I love paranormal romance of any sort, but occasionally I’d like something different from the normal vampire/shifter stories. This book was it. And I couldn’t be happier to have read it.

The Nagalians are a race similar to Medusa, with some reptilian features and hair that can come alive with snakes. But this race are not monsters in the least. They do their best to live and assimilate in a world of humans when all too often the humans prove to be the true monsters.

Independent and alone, both Dianna and Drax have their issues. And their clash when they come together is epic as two strong personalities vie for dominance, to maintain the familiar, and to demand trust. It takes time, and a whole lot of effort, before that trust comes. And with it, the realization that doing things differently is not necessarily a bad thing grows.

But as these two struggle to come to terms with a love neither expected, outside forces are moving in. Danger surrounds them and could very well lead to the end of the Nagalian race.

The heat level of this romance was pure steam, so if you like your books hot, you’ll love this. Sometimes when I new type of paranormal is mentioned, it’s difficult to get a sense of what they look/behave like, but the author did a fabulous job with description. It was very easy to picture both what Nagalians look like and how they live. The story kept me turning the pages long after I should have gone to bed. It was well-paced and held enough humor so I never felt overwhelmed with angst or tension due to the conflicts between the two MCs. All said, I’ll definitely be reading more by this author!

Dianna (h) is a half-human, half-Nagalian who is unhappy with the impact that her lineage has on her daily life, relationships and more. Drax (H), a full Nagalian, is the head of the company Dianna freelances for and he recognizes what she is. The attraction is there right away and grows into a full-fledged relationship between the two, though there are naturally some ups and downs. There is a lot of action in this really well written, interesting story and a lot of care put into the world building. The sex scenes were oh so hot, intense, and erotic. A few times the POV annoyed me when there would be a new POV that was suddenly from a different character with no labeling as to who it was. The major action in the latter part of the book being a prime example felt rushed and short shifted. For some reason, the characters just didn't click with me - I'm satisfied with the HFN and wouldn't necessarily seek out another book continuing the characters’' story.

I enjoyed reading "Shedding: A Nagalian Love Story." C C Miller utilized a mythical character in her story that is not a prominent figure in many paranormal stories. Most individuals are familiar with Medusa, a feared being who can turn you into stone with a single glance.

However, Dianna the Nagalian is so much more than a headdress of snakes. She is a half-breed with a unique ability. To heal.

While there were a couple of items I wasn't too keen on, the overall story and its plot were fantastic. I look forward to its sequel.

What an unexpectedly wonderful story this is! Imaginative, risky, and well told. I am usually not one for "werewolf" genre stuff, and this is anything but. It has a great sci-fi vibe to it that I really enjoyed (being a sci-fi author myself) more than fantasy in my opinion. Some great world-building with interesting history, and wonderfully embedded social issues that connect with reality in meaningful ways. Our main protagonist, Dianna, deals with intense themes of depression and suicide as well, an added layer of great character building. These are not things one usually sees with an erotic novel such as this which makes it all the better. While easy read, erotic/romance fiction has its place, Shedding is much concerned with connecting its world to the reader in other ways (which this reader applauds!!). Don't get me wrong, the erotic portions are just as fun!!

Great read, highly recommend!!

Sci-Fi Romantic Suspense

This novel is unlike anything I have ever read. It’s so different from the common paranormal stories since it has more of a sci-fi twist. It was a definite page turner for me. Drax was an amazing character and such a protector which I love my heroes to be. And Dianna was a strong-willed heroine which is also a must. This book had everything from suspense to love and look forward to reading the next in the series and see what happens next.

Erotic and suspenseful

Kind of a new spin on Medusa, this story keeps the reader engaged from beginning to end. Between the hot, erotic romance of Drax and Dianne, and the neverending suspense as the bounty hunters close in on Dianne and her mother, you just have to keep reading to see what will happen next.

This was very entertaining, and the narrative flows nicely. I reccomend to all who are looking for a nice easy read thats not only different, but difficult to put down.

This book is unlike anything I've ever read- and I mean that in the best possible way! The creativity and talent of this author blows me away!
There are elements of sci-fi, fantasy, and romance that are blended in such an artful way. World building and a whole new species I would have never dreamt about- but are portrayed in a way that I still felt connected to and could relate to! That's a sign of masterful writing at it's best!
Oh- and the spicy scenes are .... You know what- just read it and see for yourself. You won't be disappointed!

Medusa has NOTHING on this story!!

I'm not a fan of science fiction and this is my very first read and to be honest; I was skeptical. But let me tell you... I was hooked on this story from the very first page. The writer is a freaking genius!!! Not your typical corny and boring love story but it was a very intense and exciting read.
Definently looking out for part 2.

Well done C.C Milller.....

Interesting

This was an interesting and creative story which contained some erotica and fantasy scenes.
It was a good read, although it could benefit from reformatting of some of the dialogue. The lack of dialogue tags was appropriate, but the author should have aligned the characters' reactions, actions, and spoken words together in a paragraph. Instead, the actions and reactions were sometimes attached to another character's dialogue, which made it difficult to determine who was speaking.
Nonetheless, an interesting read.

What an epic read. Shapeshifting Nagalian species? Where did they come from? Dianna was my favorite character because she was such a loner with no place to call home...and by that I mean, she didn't fit in anywhere which helped to create her mindset. I hope the author is working on book two. We need to know who the heck Jack is!

Exotic, erotic and unputdownable! I've never read anything quite like this and was transfixed from beginning to end. The characters were so we'll configured and the plot just never stopped! I loved the transformation of the protagonists, their flaws and strengths.
Fantastic!
