I’m never making that mistake again—the one where I trust someone enough to fall in love. That doesn’t mean I’ve stopped enjoying the scenery. My two best friends and weekend RPG buddies, Seth and Ryan, are the perfect guest stars in my fantasies.
But my imagination is a weak substitute for reality after one of those gaming sessions takes role playing to a scorching new level.
Much as I’d like to spend more time daydreaming about both men taking me, my drained bank account demands immediate attention. Especially now that I may lose my job because someone screwed up... and all signs point to Ryan.
Thanks for stopping by! I am not currently accepting any friend requests.
Allyson Lindt has been telling stories since before she could put the words on paper. She was lucky enough to marry her muse and soul mate. Their cats are their children, and when they’re not spending way too much time gaming, they’re building new worlds together. She loves a sexy happily-ever-after and helping deserving couples find their futures together.
Five banging stars for this! I am legitimately breathless after this read! Allyson Lindt’s writing is truly magical! As a gamer and geek myself, I can easily put myself in the main character, Tasha’s, shoes—and even if you are not a gamer yourself and looking for a HOT ménage story, oh my hell, this is the one to begin with! The story starts off with Tasha and her two guy friends, Ryan and Seth, having a late night Dungeon and Dragon chat; and as they are all deliriously tired, they slip into silly role-playing dialogue and it heats up real quick. That night left Tasha’s panties practically melting right off her hiney. The following day though, things are about to get awkward between them at work and not because of the preceding night but rather that Tasha is put into a situation where Ryan’s career may be compromised. I refuse to make any spoilers whether or not their friendship can stand this test of trust, but I will say that the heat gets insanely tense between the two of them, and their other best friend. I ate this story up real quick--it was way too good to put down!! I cannot wait to see more in this series! I absolutely love Allyson’s world-building and how the plot and steam increases with every turned page until you’ve finally fallen back to fan yourself. I will definitely be recommending this to everyone I know and have a reread of this very soon. ;)
Hot, engaging ménage novella. Roll Against Trust (3d20 Book 1) is a contemporary romance, a genre I tend to avoid. In truth, I can’t remember the last romance I read that didn’t have paranormal elements. That being said, I thoroughly enjoyed this novella—so much that the rest of what I was supposed to do yesterday afternoon took a backseat. Natasha works for a data consulting firm as a midlevel manager. Two of her longtime friends, Seth and Ryan also work there. Tension in the workplace created by Natasha’s less-than-straightforward boss (or maybe his brand new girlfriend) drives Natasha to confide in Seth and Ryan. And that’s where I’ll leave things to avoid spoilers. Things that worked especially well in this book were vibrant characters, believable dialogue, and a quick pace. The sex is hot, but there’s an engaging storyline too. I particularly liked how the author—a gamer herself—wove gaming into the interaction between the characters. Can’t wait for subsequent books in this series! Great job, Ms. Lindt.
This was a good story overall. I liked Tasha, Ryan, and Seth outside of their mutual fault, a lack of communication.
Tasha Ryan, and Seth all work together. Tasha started at the company a few years before and has been friends with both Ryan and Seth since then. They hang out a lot and although Tasha is attracted to both men, she doesn't want to risk their friendship.
I don't want to get into details but lets just say that the first part of the story was a bit annoying for me. The drama between Ryan and Tasha that was stirred up by issues at work could have been avoided if they'd have done better at communicating. Once things got talked out, I liked the story much better. With the drama out of the way, Tasha, Ryan and Seth come together as a trio and seem on their way to a HEA.
This was an enjoyable story overall. I liked the characters and although I wasn't thrilled about how the drama started, I was happy with how things worked out. :)
Roll Against Trust is a pretty good book, but it could have been better. Tasha plays D&D with her best friends Seth and Ryan and she also works with them...well manages them. She runs the team they're on, though sometimes she does more fantasizing about them than anything. And it so happens Seth and Ryan do the same. After an unexpected sexually charged game, the trio come together quickly for what was intended to be a one night, but emotions are high after.
Then came the part that forced me to mark this down as much as I did. There were some issues with a project and the blame is being placed on Ryan. Tasha, who is supposed to be calm and collected as a manager and good at her job, completely falls apart driving the boys away, not that I could blame them. She handled the situation so poorly I couldn't understand how she got her position in the first place.
Seth manages to get everyone to reconcile after a while, but when that finally happens, it's rushed and confusing. That could have been paced a lot better.
Overall I liked the book, but it had its share of problems.
The best part of this little story happens at the start with a AD&D game between three friends: Tash, Ryan & Seth. I enjoyed the interplay between the three characters and the way each of them ignite more passion in each other. It was a fun read! I enjoyed it. The characters were believable, stood out as individuals and the issues were ones that everyone could have dealt with at one time or another. The ease that they fall into a relationship is odd but it's a short story and the tensions have been riling up for a while before you're thrown into the picture.
Good fun! It had a decent balance between the sex and story.
** ARC provided by author in exchange for an honest review **
Had the author not sent this, I would not have picked it up, purely because of the M F M action... it's not my normal thing. However, that being said *fans face* This book was freaking hot!
Tasha and her two best (guy) friends are Geeks (love geeks) and in the first chapter they start to step over the boundaries that is their gaming and their fantasies....
I will admit that their is a plot to this story but my brain was fried while reading it. The planning and the plot in this story works perfectly.
Normally men kissing grosses me out but between Seth and Ryan (thankfully I had images in my head before I twigged that they were The O.C. character names) it had me red faced.
The relationship between these three is weird but amazing! how this pans out is a mystery for me but Jesus, these tree know how to have steamy sex and manage to look each other in the eye the following day!
I don't think this is everyone's cup of tea, because normally, it's not even mine but it was a great and surprising book!
This is my first book by Allyson Lindt and I loved it! I was drawn to it because I saw it was part of the 3D20 series and I am a huge D&D fan. I thought this book did a great job of combining D&D, a steamy relationship, and work drama. The D&D parts followed the mechanics of a campaign well and made me feel like I was part of the game. The heroine, Tasha, works for an awful boss who is doing everything in his power to make her work life miserable, and by extension that leads to her personal life as well. Tasha is forced to face some hard truths about her past and tell them to her men, which isn’t something she likes to do. There is a serious lack of communication between the three main parties in this book, which ultimately leads to most of the problems in the relationship, so if that is something that bothers you in books this isn’t the story for you. Overall, this is a great novella for someone looking for something to read in an hour or so.
This book was incredibly short and really left me wanting more. Ryan, Seth and Tash have been meeting up and playing fantasy world games on line but one week they take thing's further between their characters leaving all of them feeling sexually frustrated. The trio work together and Tash is leading a project but it looks like Ryan has failed to do his part. After an amazing night together when the trio admit their attraction to each ther they attend a meeting at work where Ryan is blamed for the project issues, and Tash feels alone again, especially when Ryan cancels games night. Seth and Ryan withdraw from Tash whose life is now falling apart due to an ex-husband's debts, before Tash reaches out to Seth and the trio start working towards their HEA.
I wanted more around Tash realising Ryan has been set up but this was a good read if you want something quick.
Roll Against Trust is an entertaining read by Allyson Lindt. This is a fairly short book, a great choice for those with limited time for reading. This is a menage book though, so it may not be for everyone. Tasha, Seth and Ryan's story is loaded with suspense, humor and sizzle. I enjoyed reading Roll Against Trust and look forward to reading more from Allyson Lindt in the future. Roll Against Trust is book 1 of the 3D20 Series but can be read as a standalone. This is a complete book, not a cliff-hanger.
This has been on my kindle for a while and I went in blind today, I didn't know what the 3d20 reference was or the setting so was lost. The D&D references didn't mean anything to me but I could follow the gist of the innuendo. The work drama went nowhere, so for me it only added to Ryan appearing less likeable. There was potential here but we only got a couple of scenes of them together, no real relationship but yet love declarations & very light MM interaction. Underwhelming is my overall thought.
Hot , amazing m,m,f... Tasha has hit rock bottom, she doesn't trust easily , Ryan and Seth are her best friends and co workers and until things heat up she tries to hide how she feels about the two of them and doesn't want to have to choice. When things finally happen it only gets worse when Ryan has issues at work and Tasha is caught in the middle. Will they be able to confront their issues and work them out or go their separate ways?
Despite every Mountain Dew chugging, basement dwelling stereotype, gamers (like anyone else) can get it on with the best of them. This fun read shows how tabletop roleplaying can turn to bedroom roleplaying with the right people. (Caution, this experience is not typical for most RPG nights.)
Overall very well done, except *minor spoiler* not changing a checking account after a breakup, while it advances the plot, doesn't match the intelligence of the character.
This was an extremely fast read. I enjoyed the plot and the characters but I do wish that the characters were more developed. I couldn't really connect to any characters simply because of the curse of the novilla. There just isn't enough space to develop a character when you only have 80 pages to read. All in all, I enjoyed it but it was missing the characters that I am sure I would love if fleshed out.
This book was so hot right from the start. Even though this is a novella length story the chemistry between Seth, Ryan and Tasha is palpable and when they finally get together sparks really fly.
I really loved how Seth and Ryan were able to convince Tasha that she could trust them and, more importantly, herself.
I will definitely be reading the other books in this series, especially if they are as hot as this one
Hot AND sweet! (And the set of 1-4 in this series is on sale for 99 cents this week!)
I love a good friends-to-lovers tale, and this one did that so, so well! The MMF sexytimes were steamy, the conflict was real (yet not too angsty), and I loved each of the characters. The fantasy/role playing coinciding with their gaming was mwah *chef's kiss*. I 100% enjoyed this book. Looking forward to reading the rest in the series!
This is the first in a 4 book bundle freebie I picked up just after the New Year (Heat for the Holidays) and I thought I'd give contemporary romance another try. I don't read CR but I love threesomes/triads. This started pretty good; I too am a fan of D&D. But as soon as someone "grabbed" someone's breast I may as well have finished reading. I'm enjoying book 2 in the bundle more, but this one was definitely not for me.
Natasha is project manager over Ryan for a big software client who isn’t pleased with the current schedule and latest results. Could Ryan be responsible or is there another who wants to sabotage the project? How will this bode for their weekly D&D games where Seth’s dungeon master skills had all three of them lusting for more? Another excellent adventure in Allyson Lindt’s universe
As always Allyson's work was amazing. SO sexy and steamy I loved it. The whole money/work thing blows and I completely understand it all. I've been reading a lot of heavier stuff and this was just the kind of lightness I've been needing. Plus there is the hottness of 2 guys and a happily ever after with them.
It's well written, fast paced, entertaining, hot and steamy. The storyline hooks You up. It's not only about a really hot menage between D&D players but also about some work drama/crime. The characters are well-developed and You just love Tasha, Ryan and Seth.
I recommend this book. So goahead, grab this book and bring passion in your life.
Everything felt very rushed, as if they rolled a 20 on stamina. Probably would have enjoyed if we were shown the actual backstory / developing friendship between the three instead of told about it as a quick prelude to the sex talk, which felt a bit sudden. Also, with all the 'wet pool in my panties' happening to the main F, I was wondering if she considered wearing Depends diapers...
I should have reviewed this right after I read it, but it was a fun one! Tasha's struggles are relatable and real; if I had quibbles I think the ending where the two guys admit their feelings felt a bit of a stretch to me? Kinda underdeveloped. But if you're in for the geekiness, that part is quite realistic and nicely described.
I am always afraid of short romance stories, as they are not always successful in character development. This was not the case. You learned their backgrounds and start caring about them right away. They are likable, flawed characters, with lots of chemistry. Can't wait to read the next part.
This is not an MMF story. This is MFM with a very light bit of contact between the men. I liked the two male characters, it took awhile to warm up to the female character since to me she seemed a little scatter brained. But perhaps that is because there was little background history on the three characters. A fun quick read with HEA.
Trust issues dominate this storyline. Trust issues are prominent in this book. It makes for a fascinating storyline. The characters interact well together and that held my attention. This story has it all, heat, passion, tears, laughter, and a great ending. It was worth the time I spent reading it.
This book was short and sweet but I have to say I wanted more. I appreciate they're short stories but the characters were interesting enough for this to be a longer story with more build up. The scenes between the three protagonists were nice and I liked their playful dynamic, I guess I just wanted a little more from the book.
Tasha has been having fantasies involving her 2 best friends. Little does she know Ryan & Seth feel the same. One late night of role playing turns verbally hot & steamy. Where do friends go from there?
A fun quick read about a trio of friends who game together and work together and maybe more together. Likeable characters, though I thought Tash should have trusted the boys with her past and current troubles a bit more. Will happily read more in this series!
I actually thought there would be more references to d&d but this is more boss issues. Hot is hot no matter the way you swing. I did enjoy the characters but there were no surprises.
