Bartholomew Trottier could not take his eyes or his thoughts away from the beautiful redhead at his fellow Brethren’s wedding. Everything in him urged him to get to know her even if it was on her terms. However, things beyond their control forced Bart to push up his timetable for allowing her to come to him on her terms. Would she accept him or would he spend the rest of his life without her? Lisa Ratcliff trusted no one. She let no one get close enough to hurt her. She said what she thought and damned the consequences if someone did not like it. When she saw the gorgeous man with blond hair and a full beard at her friend’s wedding, she was more than ready for a casual relationship. But, things were not all that they seemed. Was she ready to give her heart to someone and could she trust again?
D.F. Wilson currently resides in NW Louisiana with her husband and daughter. A spoiled Maltipoo named Cupcake and a mischievous cat named Jax also claim her as their parental unit. She enjoys reading, writing, hunting, fishing and SCUBA diving.
What a wonderful new way to look at the world of vampires. I loved how D.F. Wilson gave a really good back story for our two main characters that helped us be able to really emphasise with them and engage through their journey.
The opening backstop bit made this perfect, and added more info about the brotherhood. Getting his promised mate won't be easy for Bartholomew because Lisa is strong, but she's not trusting. Watching her grow and them coming together was a rewarding experience. D.F Wilson has crafted another amazing story!
Having read the first two books in this series, I was surprised that this one opened in Medieval France, in Normandy. Having the back-story to Bart, or Bartholomee, or Bartholomew, was interesting and gives him a more rounded character on knowing his history. It also informs the reader about the formation of the Brethren, adding more to our knowledge.
Finding that his promised mate also has a history, you immediately realise the problems there relationship could encounter, and you're right because the promised mate is not quite so agreeable this time. Add to that the fact that this author always throws in a complicated story to go alongside the love angle and you have yet another brilliant novel.
Bartholomew: Sundown Motorcycle Club : I love the opening setting of medieval Normandy in France and the heartache Bart experiences that makes a life of immortality attractive. From heartache comes strength and I appreciated Bart's journey to build in his own basic goodness, becoming a 'battle hardened warrior' yet still retaining the gentleness a man of strength would require to attract a woman like Lisa. Bart's comment that 'He wanted to kiss the maid of honor thoroughly' sets the scene for lovely romantic encounters which I am not going to Spoil by sharing here. Suffice to say you will not be disappointed. Lisa's character development is crucial to her relationship with such a man as Bart for she must experience similar tragedy for her own strength to build. The author has created a woman who though strong within, cannot trust. Her transition to what I can best describe as full blown womanhood is brought about in part by knowing she is loved. I chose to read this series because motorcycles are part of the story. As Lisa 'listened to the pure of the bike as it rumbled down the highway, my own heart responded. If you enjoy a well told story of vampires combined with motorcycles, romance and a desire to use power for good, this is the book for you.
This book is book 3 in the Sundown Motorcycle Club series and it just keeps getting better. You will fall in love with Bart and Lisa's story. You will want to keep reading. Could not put it down. Although this is book can be read alone, it is better when read after Maximillian and Benjamin.
This group of characters has sealed themselves in my heart. Again, I can’t say enough about the brilliant details she writes. Jumping into the next book immediately. Love this series
