I am the Hunter. A king among criminals and she is mine to mold. I took my crown, my woman, and now I’m taking a life. But even kings have an Achilles heel. When the girl becomes a woman, my days as the hunter are over.
The Revenge & Legacy Series is a dark romance retelling of Hades and Persephone with a twist.
M.C. Cerny is a USA Today Bestselling author of fresh sexy books. She experienced her first real ugly cry reading, Where The Red Fern Grows, and never looked back. She lives with a menagerie of human and feline fur-babies in rural NJ. When M.C. is not writing, you’ll find her lurking in Starbucks, running stupid marathons, and eating all the tacos while plotting her next book.
Plot Summary : Elizabeth is trying to get through her life as fast as she can. She is poor and there are days when even her basic needs are not met. That is until she stumbles upon the devil. Hunter is a man who is ruthless and takes whatever he wants. And he wants the woman whom he saw on the streets and is clearly obsessed with. She is going to be his in every way that counts and there is no way he is letting her go , no matter what she says.
Elizabeth thought her life would be changed but she didn’t expect to be trapped with a man who is hell bent on owning her . He is going to make her his and doesn't care if he destroys her in the process. By the time she runs away, it’s going to be too late.
Overall Opinion : I loved the way this story played out!! The blurb had me intrigued and I was so excited for this one. Hunter is a ruthless mafia man and does whatever he wants.
This one was a medium type read for me. I won't say it was a phenomenal book but it wasn't too bad either. Hunter has me hooked and after that cliffhanger, I can definitely promise you guys that I'll be reading more of this series!! A must read for all the dark romance lovers!
This series definitely feels like a wild ride in the making. Adam is a dark mafia boss who encounters Elizabeth...a wiley teenager who is trying to survive and make ends meat. Then there is Adam's brother Aaron a military man that finds himself wrapped up in the chaos. Hunter is a dark romance with many twists and turns that does end in a cliffhanger. I do recommend reading the prologue first to get a feel for Elizabeth and Adam's first encounter. I can't wait to see where this series will take these characters and the plot!
Darkest and most mysterious romance I’ve read in a while! There will be triggers… Ohmyohmyohmy! What a beginning to a new series. This is really a very dark romance and I use the word romance with a cringe…this is so far beyond a love story. There are mysteries throughout, which I hope are revealed as we get into this delectable dark and dirty series of four books. The author has kindly mentioned that there may be triggers and believe me if you are squeamish, tread lightly! For reasons which I hope are revealed later, Elizabeth has been kept pure by her guardian, Adam in an all-girls boarding school isolated from everything so that he can marry her when she turns 18yo. There is a mutual understanding or pact between Elizabeth and Adam to keep her brother safe by allowing Adam to do his will. What could have happened to cause her to do this? She so obviously hates the idea of marrying him. This will not be a marriage for love. Adam is a very bad man who has put into motion a very intricate plan. We get glimpses of his crazy throughout and maybe a bit of his plan. Later we are introduced to Aaron who will play a major part in Adams’ crazy scheme. I truly cannot wait to read the rest of these books! There were moments where I would have looked the other way if I wasn’t reading. And, others where I cried for these characters. There are touching moments but mostly cringe-worthy events. I give this book 4.5 stars for editing reasons. A better proof-reader is necessary. I volunteered to read these books for the author after I read RIVAL the prequel to this series.
OMG what did I just read. How can I explain this book. So this is book 1 of the series and this book is setting everything up in motion. I can not wait for book 2 where everything starts moving and Elizabeth see why Adam acts the way he acts and why he kept so many secrets.
Adam IS EVIL but he is that evil that has good intentions & revenge. Which fits perfectly with the series title. I do hate him when I read Elizabeth's POV then it goes to Adam and am like ahhh just tell her why you are doing this
Aaron you get his POV too but I will not tell you too much cause it will spoil the story for you. I will say he is a military man and he is truely a good man for country and his family. My heart broke for him towards then end and he has no idea how import he is to...
Elizabeth I love her straight away cause she was not afraid to stand her own ground and she is confused on her feeling and Adam feelings. Her brother Eddie who is also military to his protective of his sister & his family. He is unaware of his Adams activates
Elizabeth & Adam's story started on a rooftop as children and their story still continues. The fates are cruel indeed especially to Adam's past, present & future
First off, I'm unsure of what this book was trying to be. It seemed like it was trying to be a mafia romance or some patriotic romance. I like both types of genres, but this book didn't execute either. There were plot holes and grammatical errors that I could've potentially ignored if the book was coherent.
There was only implied sex scenes so if you're looking for something steamy, I would pass on this book. Also, I really have no idea how much time was supposed to be covered in this book. At one point, we're told it's six months after the wedding, then a few sentences later 3 years have supposedly passed. WTH?!
It seemed to me like the author had to much she was trying to make happen in this book to make it suspenseful and intriguing, but all it really did was leave you confused. I understand this is the first book in a series, but her writing style leaves too much to be desired that I'm not confident this series will work out to a satifying complete story.
Will not read books from this author again and will be returning for a refund.
Hunter is one of those rare books that took my breath away in horror at times, and while I'm not squeamish in the slightest, there were things that made me pause so please tread lightly as there are serious triggers. I'm not about to get into any sort of detail because 1. I'm still not sure what the hell is going on since I have a thousand questions which weren't answered, and 2. everything could be a spoiler. There are twists & turns and twists & turns that robbed me of my favorite f-bomb dropping as well. It's the first book so I do believe that nothing is as it seems (well maybe the crazy is), and there's so much more to come (at least I hope so since my head is scrambled). There's nothing sweet in these pages in my opinion, and there are really no heroes either, just a bunch of insanity & psycho moments that by the end I was just sitting still trying to get my bearings. Anyway, I'm ready for more because I'm hooked to the dark madness, and HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND TO THOSE BRAVE ENOUGH!
Wow this book is a very unexpected twisted storyline and follows the prequel The Rival. You see what happens to Elizabeth and her brother Eddie over the years and you see how Adam has used and abused the poor girl. Adam has some diabolical plan in place for her and it will slowly be revealed as the story goes on. This book is dark and has triggers for some with abuse and sexual situations that can be cringing to say the least. It has so many twist and will have you trying to figure out what will happen next. We meet Adam's brother Aaron again in this book and more twists for their relationship follows with a ton more questions. Definitely recommend this book if you are looking for something unconventional and with tons of twists that will make you question what is happening till the end of that cliffhanger. Be prepared to tossed about in this storyline and wonder why and where the story will lead to next.
I absolutely could not put this down and am in need of the rest of the series. This book has a very different storyline that keeps you turning. I can't get enough of all 3 main characters. Adam is a fabulous dark anti-hero I can't get enough of. Elizabeth is a young woman that I think is just coming into herself. Aaron is only revealed to a certain degree but I can't wait for more of him after going through a lot. It is certainly dark and probably not for those with triggers. The prequel says 'nothing is as it seems' and this certainly seems the case.
This is the 1st in a new series and what a beginning this story is! Adam is dark, moody, and controlling, while Elizabeth is lost, but slowly coming into her own. This is one of those tales which nothing is as it seems, and many questions still need to be answered. This is a well written story which has me on tenterhooks, and is a dark, raw, gritty, twisted, and intense page turner. I look forward to reading #2.
I can’t quite wrap my head around what I just read but I loved every word. Adam is dark, moody and always in control. Elizabeth is so lost but I really enjoyed watching her grow. Can’t wait until the next book.

I’m MAD that the author is selling a 4th of a book at full price only to end this tiny instalment with righteous anger and a clear view of NOTHING, no character development, no growth, no insight... oh wait maybe thats because you cut a whole book into quarters!! Argh...
I’m not invested in any of the characters and no matter how much I’d like to give the ‘2nd book’ a chance to maybe redeem this mess of truly shitty character interactions, I CANT, I’m just so upset I paid full price for a nothing story that left me feeling robed.
So let me start by saying that I am fairly new to being an arc reader. I only tried last month. I've gotten the hang of it a little. So far, until this review, I've never given a review below 3 stars. When I signed up as an arc reader, I promised to give an honest review. I was asked to give an honest review. Honest isn't always good things being said. I am actually very scared and nervous to post this review because you never know how someone will react to a bad review.
I'm not gonna come here are talk shit on the author or her book. I'm sure that the author worked very hard to write this book and publish it. I can only imagine the struggle and stress authors feel. I'm not gonna say this book was bad either. I am sure many readers absolutely loved this book and fell in love with the characters. Sadly, I'm not one of those readers. This book is probably good, just not a good book for me.
I felt like this book was not my style of reading. When I signed up I was so excited. I couldn't wait to start reading the book when I received the Arc. Then when I started the book I was beyond confused. I didn't vibe with the book. It felt as if I had to force myself to read it. I was lost throughout the majority of the book. I thought it was just me being stupid and even reread some chapters to see if I missed a couple of things. I love Dark Romance and I can read pretty deep into it but this one just felt different. The characters kept changing their emotions so quickly. It was as if I was reading about people with split personalities. One minute she had a fire and the next she's this timid girl who acts as if she's this girl who will now to him no matter what. It was as if they were both acting. There wasn't even any 'understanding the characters'. I didn't get to vibe with them. I didn't get to understand them and their thinking. Everything felt wrong. I didn't enjoy myself while reading this. I didn't get to escape the real world. It was just like reading words and if you're a reader, you probably understand that reading a book is so much more than just reading one word after the other. Or maybe that's just me and I'm weird. Who knows?
I will just leave it at this was not a book for me. However, I do feel bad for giving such a low review because I'm sure the author worked very hard. So, in a couple of months, I'm going to read this book again. If my opinion on the book changes I will edit my rating and review. If I still feel as if this book is just not a book for me, it will stay the same.
