Legacy Awakened

Rate this book

They fell in love long before they met.
Now the harshness of reality will be their love's ultimate test.

Wolves are endangered, thanks to human culling after a spate of attacks 18 years ago. Their low numbers mean they have no immunity when a virulent strain of rabies begins to rapidly spread. While some are seeking to hasten their extinction, others are racing against time to save them.

Ava
The child of a prophecy.

Ava knows we are all connected. She believes there's an answer to the conflict that seems inevitable…she just hasn't found it yet.

Hunter
A protector at no matter the cost.

Hunter is willing to do whatever it takes to save the wolves, including risky genetic experimentation, including losing his heart…including sacrificing his life.

Battling a deadly disease, their responsibilities, and their own undeniable but confusing feelings, Ava and Hunter struggle to find the balance between what is right, what is wrong, and who to trust.

Ultimately, they are going to have to face the only possible solution - that their love may be the key to it all.

Tamar really struggled writing this bio, in part because it’s in third person, but mostly because she hasn’t decided whether she’s primarily a psychologist who loves writing, or a writer with a lifelong fascination with psychology.

She must have been someone pretty awesome in a previous life (past life regression indicated a Care Bear), because she gets to do both. Beginning her career as a youth worker, then a secondary school teacher, before becoming a school psychologist, Tamar helps children and teens to live and thrive despite life’s hurdles like loss, relationship difficulties, mental health issues, and trauma.

As lover of reading, inspired by books that sparked beautiful movies in her head, Tamar loves to write young adult romance. To be honest, it was probably inevitable that her knowledge and love of literature would translate into writing emotion driven stories of finding life and love beyond our comfort zones. You can find out more about Tamar’s books at www.tamarsloan.com

A lifetime consumer of knowledge, Tamar holds degrees in Applied Science, Education and Psychology. When not reading, writing or working with teens, Tamar can be found with her husband and two children enjoying country life on their small slice of the Australian bush.
The driving force for all of Tamar’s writing is sharing and connecting. In truth, connecting with others is why she writes. She loves to hear from readers and fellow writers. Find her on all the usual social media channels or her website.

The wolves are an endangered species thanks to the humans from a long time ago. While some are still trying to get rid of them, others are trying to help. Outstanding book. Don’t miss out once it’s released, you won’t regret it.

Ava is the child of prophesy and all eyes are on her because she is the daughter of the Prime Alpha and the Queen of the Fae. Everyone believes she's the key to saving the wolves from extinction. However, Ava feels useless because she can't shift into a wolf and has no clue how she's supposed to save the day. She doesn't even know where to begin. The only thing she can do is see the threads of life that connects everyone. However, she feels so alive in her dreams when she's running with her white wolf.

When an opportunity appears for Ava to go help the arctic wolves, she can't pass up the opportunity to find the wolf from her dreams. However, when she meets Hunter, she realizes reality is nothing like her dreams. Hunter is emotionally closed off from the world and only cares about saving the wolves. As a young alpha, he has a lot of responsibility and no time for himself. But Ava is a patient person and isn't ready to give up on her wolf just yet.

Poachers aren't the only thing threatening the wolves anymore. With a new form of rabies spreading, Ava and Hunter must work together to save the wolves. The more time Ava spends with him, the harder it is for her to deny their connection.

LEGACY AWAKENED is the first installment of the Prime Legacy series and is a read that tugs at your heart. Ava is a strong female lead who isn't afraid to fight for what she believes in. She also isn't scared to speak her mind. With everyone's expectations of her weighing on her shoulders, Ava has a hard time finding her place, but she knows it's with the wolves. She will do anything to help them, and so will Hunter. I liked that their love isn't an at-first-glance sort of thing you typically see with werewolf stories. Instead, there's a little drama in there to keep the pace of the story up.

Final Verdict: I would recommend this to fans of werewolves, paranormal romance, strong female leads, alpha wolves, discovering yourself, and prophesies.

First book in the follow-up series to the outstanding Prime Prophecy series that focuses on Eden and Noah's daughter, Ava. If you haven't read that series, I recommend you do because you will be missing some backstory and events that precipitated things that occur in this series.
Ava has grown up in the shadow of her parents with everyone waiting to discover just what amazing things she will do as the impossible daughter of the Prime Prophecy. While she's a mix of human, Fae, and Were, she has none of their abilities. She is unique in that she can see the web that connects all living things, but she hasn't found her place yet. When a deadly rabies virus effecting the wolves breaks out, she seizes her chance to spread her wings and possible find her place. Meanwhile in the arctic tundra, Hunter is forced to step up as his pack alpha when the wolves up there are facing extinction from poachers. Determined to protect them, he places a heavy burden on his shoulders trying to do everything alone. When the two combine forces, they end up facing both issues and coming against impossible odds. Despite their best efforts, things are starting to look dire for both wolves and Weres alike and it will take Hunter and Ava accepting the legacies that have been left to them to even have a chance at making things better.

Great writing....

As the daughter of the Prime Alpha and his mate, her mother, Ava has grown up knowing she is destined for something mote. But at 16, she never changed into a wolf. She is a collection of wolf, fae and human. No one understands what her till is to be, not even the fae elders. The regular wolves are being killed at an alarming rate, and the werewolves and fae are trying to protect those left and help grow their population.

Hunter became an Alpha at 16 when his father was shot by poachers. He is a white wolf who patrols nightly to try and save those left. Two years ago a golden wolf appeared by his side out in the wilderness. He has no idea who she is, just that they belong together. Now, the Prime Alphas daughter is coming with a medication to heal the sudden sickness that has stricken the wolves.

When they meet.......

It's a beautiful story.

This is a fluff book. If you need a break from the books with substance that leave you aching, this is a nice filler. I read the first three books, which are centered on Ava’s parents. I enjoyed those more. This book came across as whiny. And slightly annoying. The idea of the story is nice, and the author is good at making the reader feel for the issue of wolves, but the main character is not solid. It feels like she doesn’t know what she is or how she feels and there was nothing solid to stand on foundation-wise to connect with the character. And the main male interest is also frustrating. Maybe I just need to read another, deeper, more solid book before coming back to this series so I can be more open and thankful for an easy read…The writing wasn’t bad, but it’s not amazing. The story has potential, but for some reason it feels shaky when you compare it to the first three books. I also kind of have an idea where the story is going and it feels a bit too predictable.

ONE INCREDIBLE ADVENTURE!!!
Oh man, talk about a walk on the wild side. One fantastic storyline and strong plot brings this bad boy front and center. A whirlwind of emotions and events that pulls those heartstrings as it draws you deeper and deeper in its web. All the drama, fear, uncertainty, danger and suspense increases while tension spirals. Twists and turns abound with unexpected circumstances that make for one amazing experience. The characters and scenes are written with such realism it really pulls this little guy together beautifully. Tamar did an amazing job bringing this read to life. Fantastic job Tamar, thanks for sharing this little guy with us.

Disappointed

I loved the series which was the prequel to this book. I skimmed through most of this book once the first bit of British terminology showed up. There was a couple of them in the prior series such as the word jumper being used for the word but sweater the author at least made some effort. If the main character in a book is an American the words coming out of his mouth should reflect that. The book was boring to begin with but add in the lack of American terminology & the book became awful. It was a simple fix. If I had read this book before the series I wouldn't have bothered with any other books written by this author which would have been a shame.

This is an amazing intro to the legacy of her parents. She decides to help stop the spread of a virus that she personally held close due to her pup Achak. Let me tell you this is one amazing story that needs to be read. This is a story that goes way beyond the animals included in this story. It talks to everyone about many things we are afraid to discuss. This legacy is one that needs to be read and enjoyed !

Surprisingly Good!

I usually read dystopia , fantasy books. I was worried because this was labelled as a romance but I have it a shot. The story was super unique and I liked how it is playing out. The romance isn't too overbearing. As long as the next book still has a solid story line and a strong heroine with some romance sprinkled in here and there , I think this series could turn out fantastic.

Good series

This was hard to review. I love this series but this was told in flashbacks and had periods of confusion. Although Hunter did have problems dealing with the Ava/wolf problem, the confusion he felt was hampered by the confusing flashback style of writing and the amount of names that came up with the wolves. It was saved by the fact that the series itself is so well thought out.
It was however a very good read anyway.

Were extinction!

This book was a slow burn by well worth the surprise. So the threads were connecting in the shadows of dreams, to make sure they found their perfect match. Who is the poached and why is he skinning the wolves and taking their pelts like trophies? Who is the man in red who is murdering his own kind just to get to the wolves? I can't wait to find out in the next book.😍

Love!

I love Tamars books, and have read every one of them. I love the innocent and clean romance and love in them, also they are usually more realistic. Ive been waiting for this series for awhile and just got to now reading it, and although this was a pretty good book, I think is still love the previous series and characters more. There may have been too many flashbacks in this, and moved a little slow in some parts, but I have a feeling the next book will be better. Getting started on it now!

Book 1

This was a good start to a series. For me, a little disturbing in a couple of areas, but there are evil people in the world. The ending held a nice transition to the next book.

I feel bad giving this only 3 stars because I didn't realize until after starting it that it was a spin off of a different series. So I'm sure it would have been much more enjoyable had I known the characters they were talking about.

Harsh reality

This book was a little slow starting but pick up pace and held my attention. I love how the story is continuing from the alpha prophesy to add their children to the stories. Eva is sweet, while Hunter is sad and quiet. How will this end?

Must read.

This book is both uplifting and heart rending. The plight of wolves is a very real fight, and trying to save them may pull this couple apart.
