Ramona Finn writes about courageous characters who fight to live in broken, dystopian worlds. She grew up sitting cross-legged on her town's library floor - completely engrossed in science fiction books. It was always the futuristic world or the universe-on-the-brink-of-extinction plot lines that drew her in, but it was the brave characters who chose to fight back that kept her turning the pages.

Her books create deep, intricate worlds with bold characters determined to fight for their survival in their dystopian worlds - with a little help from their friends. And, of course, romance is never out of the question...

Like young-adult dystopian books? Then you're going to love Ramona Finn's "The Glitch" -- set in a futuristic world where an Artificial Intelligence rules, Lib wakes up in a barren land with one thought lodged in her mind: "Find the Glitches".

I found the series to be wrapped up rather nicely with The Elite. Seeing Ty's development over the trilogy was well done. The premise, villain, and other characters were woven into the story in a way that had me getting to know them and either rooting for or against them.

This is book three and the finale of The GEO’s series and sees the conclusion of events started by Tylia (Ty) Coder, in her hope of helping get medical assistance for her mother, the only way she knew. She has had to make many choices after she hacked her way into the Acceptance competition and made her way to the Labs, supposedly for a better life. She had feelings for Skylar Two and had joined the Rej’s on the surface, following Wallace’s revelations. Now she is supposed to be having a wedding ceremony with Ben Farrow, the son of R.L. Farrow, the saviour of the world when the virus hit. What she found out about the Farrow’s whilst in the Labs has led to her having concerns about them and especially Ben’s recent actions in ordering the massacre of Skylar’s father and many others. She is rescued from the Labs by Skylar and some others pretending to be EF officers and now she has to prove her loyalty to the remaining Rej’s.

There are divisions between the Rej’s and the GEO’s, as the Rejects originally refused to follow Farrow’s demands for all those other than the super rich to have to inhabit the underground GEO’s. The super rich could buy their way into the Labs and live a life of luxury compared to those underground. The underground GEO’s are split into different unions depending on their work type and can never agree on matters. Now Skylar and Tylia are trying to unite the GEO’s and Greens in the sky, by damaging infrastructure just enough to make those living in luxury to have to live a little harder life and make an agreement for more equal lives. Skylar wants to get his group of Rej’s to damage the transports which will stop them from being able to take produce to the skylabs. Tylia has been announced dead by the Farrow leadership and this has caused dissent within parts of the GEO’s

R.L. Farrow starts to ramp up his actions, not caring who gets hurt in the process. He uses family to pressure people into doing as he wants, even his own! There were rumours long ago, longer than anyone still alive almost, of what he did and who was really responsible for the virus that almost wiped out the world and the supposed cure his family are meant to be creating. Farrow wants the status quo to remain as it is, with any rebellion or resistance eliminated. His plan has always been to become immortal and extend his life as long as possible. A cure isn’t even important to him as he prepares a mutated virus to kill off anyone else left on the surface and below it. Tylia finds herself stuck between both worlds, knowing of the existence of the clones, the previous Acceptance winners and what was being done to them, the resistance within the GEO’s and the fake side of the Farrow broadcasts. Now she has to decide if she wants Ben or Skylar and which world she wants to live in.

Can she manage to unite the Rej’s and those she knows best in the GEO’s to fight back against R.L. Farrow and his evil plans? Even his own family members are afraid of him and have done some things they are beginning to regret, all on his orders, trying to get his attention and praise, never mind love. Skylar wants revenge for the death of his father and so many other of his people. Ben wants her, to control her and make her his. That would please his father, who says their pairing and the offspring they would produce, are the final piece of his puzzle in his search for immortality. The Rej’s prophecy states that there will be one who is from all three, the Rej’s, the Labs, and the GEO’s, who will finally unite, all for the survival of everyone. Tylia must embrace her destiny and decide who to trust the most and who she wants to be. A massive battle for survival is about to take place and where everyone will be when it finishes is anyone’s guess. A fitting finale to the series, with resolution to the question of a cure and any hope for the surviving factions. Wow! What a great conclusion to the trilogy. Everything comes down to stopping R.F. Farrow's plans for Tylia, for she is what he has been looking for to gain immortality. Tylia needs to unite her people and the Rejs, for only together can they bring about change. Tylia will be stuck between Ben and Skylar, for she does not know who she should completely trust. Events are happening and both Ben and Skylar have parts to play. Tylia's main concern is her parents, whom she would sacrifice anything for. Tylia knows what she has to do to stop R.F. Farrow, even though she knows she is walking into the lion's den, but it is the only way. However, R.F. Farrow has been playing this game much longer, and is devious, arrogant, and has a god-complex. People were blinded by him, but many are beginning to see the truth, much of it brought in by Tylia. Will it be enough though to turn people away from the only life they have ever known and the empty promises from R.F. Farrow as well as overcoming their fears of the virus? It all comes down to this epic conclusion.

When I pick this book up I have not read the first two. I definitely recommend you read the series from the beginning .

I love this concept of what we would do if our planet became unlivable. Our modern government would fail and someone would have to take over . I can totally see that being a giant conglomerate.

I love the creepiness in this book. The idea that your DNA being superior is what makes you part of this crazy ruling family. And that we're at a point where DNA can be so manipulated that you don't have just a mother and a father but the best of a bunch of people.

DNA manipulation is the tip of the iceberg in the greens! Let's not forget about the idea that cloning was tried again and didn't work again.

The idea of living underground frightens me but I think I'd rather live underground than have to survive in crazy society up above.

This book and the series have so many twists and sirens that it's hard to write a review without giving stuff away. Consequently, I'll just end this by saying it's an absolute must read for the whole series!

Refreshing all the way to the end!

I just enjoyed this series so much!! There’s not much criticism I can give to this elegantly woven tale of what happens when a person in a place of power loses their humanity. The status quo is challenged and overcome in this series, and I love the relationships that are formed by Ramona Finn. The way the characters developed out of necessity and pure desire to do better is absolutely perfect. The characters themselves, however, are not perfect, but that is an honest portrayal of life in general. I really love the way Finn brought this all together in the end. I highly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys dystopian fiction. Probably best for 12 to 13 years and older. Maybe even a bit older, ad it can get somewhat violent and graphic. I hope you enjoy this series as much as I did!

The final book in the GEOs trilogy went out with a bang! I really loved this book! It was probably my favorite of all three. The pacing was great and there was a lot of action as well. There was the most obvious character development in this book and I just found it to be the most entertaining in general. It was a page turner for me and I couldn't wait to find out what happened next. Tylia was quite literally all over the place, with the geos, on the surface and in the greens, back and forth, through most of the book, so it seemed pretty long (in a good way!), even though I don't think it was based on how quickly I read it. Like Ramona's other books, I love the characters, plot and writing, and I am sad to see this series come to an end. However, the ending was very rewarding!

The Elite is the last book in the GEOs series and this conclusion was absolutely amazing! Now that Tylia is supposedly dead, the attacks are getting even worse. She joined the resistance and has to do everything she can to stop Farrow. I loved the story and the characters a lot. There are so many twists and turns, it kept me interested all the time. This series really is a rollercoaster. I would definitely recommend this series to anyone.

This picks up where the last book ended. Tylia is on the surface with Skylar and the Rejs. They are about to go to full out war with the Elites. Their plans backfire again and Tylia has to escape R L again. This is a great ending to a very good series.

Right of the bat I am not the target audience but my daughter who is, and I listened to this on a recent road trip. It worked on both our levels and very reminiscent of the hunger games and maze runner which I have watched with various of my teenagers and recently my daughter.

I got frustrated with some of the characters but again I am not the target audience.

Great series

This author always writes such interesting stories that capture our imagination and make you care about the characters. The female lead is likeable and relatable and the llove triangle against the Dystopian backdrop makes for an interesting read.
