I recently finished Chopper Command by Eric Helm, it's the third book in his Scorpion squad series and it's really good. this series is set in the early stages of the war when the US still tried to figure things out. The books are well written and if you like me have interest in the conflict it's a great read. Sometimes it almost feel like a biography but it is fiction. Stong recommendations and many thanks to #SapereBooks and #Netgalley for giving me this one.

Wow, what a fabulous book. If you like Action Thrillers, then you would love this story. The plot is quite tense, especially since the North Vietnamese seem to be everywhere trying to kill the American soliders. I found myself reading faster and faster through certain sections, wondering what was going to happen. Great entertainment.
Captain Gerber and his men were getting used to the North Vietnamese firing mortars at their camp, luckily they seldom hit anything, however that certainly didn’t mean the green berets in camp were going to put up with it, they just needed to pin point the VC to eliminate them. Even worse was the atrocities the VC were committing on the Vietnamese civilians in their villages. Gerber and his men had learnt there was a Viet Cong Cadre of Propaganda Specialist going from village to village with approximately 100 to 150 VC soldiers to protect them. This was now Gerber's number one target, they would just need to acquire some choppers to locate them. If you enjoy Thrillers, then this is a must read. 5/5 Star Rating.

Excellent zeries

I would recommend these books for everyone but I know they will mean more to the Veterans and also to Army Brats whose fathers and mothers served as well, to help us understand what they went through. I as a nurse and had seen those who came back and sent to Germany and the affect the Vietnam had on them afterwards.

Enjoyed this entry in a series that would eventually turn into the Vietnam: Ground Zero series. It continues the adventures of a squad of Americans and the fire base they established with South Vietnamese and Tai locals. This time using helicopters to out maneuver a PR squad of Viet Cong who were trying to turn the villages against the Americans.

Recommended for fans of Vietnam era novels. These are well written and have an air of authenticity that you dont always get.

Another solid entry. This series keeps getting better. The action in Chopper Command is more realistic than in either of the two previous novels. Also, more attention is paid to the political situation on the ground, as opposed to the first two Scorpion Squad novels, which inserted action at every possible occasion, sometimes to the detriment of the overall story.
