Wow. I think this might be my favorite book by Mariah and that's saying a lot. She has shown substantial growth in her writing with this one and I could not be more proud of her right now. I have been loving this series but this one just felt different. I loved that it was still connected to Brighton but also that the story didn't completely take place there. It was a refreshing take on this series and one I found I didn't want to put down.

I LOVED Tyler. There was just something about him from the very beginning that intrigued me and I just knew there was so much more to him than we've seen. I was not wrong. He really surprised me in this book and not in a bad way. I loved that he found his way and proved to himself and others what he is capable of.

I loved the friendship between all the characters in this one and the road trip was so fun to be on with them. Mariah does a great job of making you feel like you are right there with the group of friends. Because of this I have a new found dream of taking a trip to New Orleans and delving into it's rich history and of course the food.

A road trip with Tyler is the very last thing Chloe wants to be doing. Oh sure, her twin Vanessa and her bestie Cooper are coming along and can provide a buffer, but she's avoided Tyler for a reason. So to be stuck in a car with him for a road trip...yeah no. But it becomes apparent these two have not only history, but blazing hot chemistry that will be impossible to ignore. Will the British football god and the list loving astonomy student make it work when he isn't going to be in the US for much longer?

As enemies to lovers go, this is pretty great. Tyler is straight up British swoon and swagger with a really tender heart. Chloe is adorable with her lists and her space facts, and Vanessa and Cooper are equally awesome. I will definitely be on the lookout for more of this series and more from Mariah.

Can I just get this out there and just say that Tyler is mine? Like ALLLLLL MINE! I am not going to share him! I had been intrigued by him for a while and to see his story just blew me away. There is such a magnetic pull between him and Chloe no matter how hard either of them fight it. Their banter had me giggling. The way their history comes into play and messes with their now. It was so raw and emotional at moments. Tyler is trying to prove himself while Chloe does things by the book. But these two together are an explosive broken rule and oh my do they combust. There is such passion that it will sizzle. The way they just get each other is beyond beautiful. As the story progresses you really get a sense of these two and how things really are for them and what they would sacrifice to be in each other’s lives!
Overall, Exploring the Rules is my favorite of this series. There is just something about the flow of the story, the character build and the concept that Dietz absolutely nailed with it. I wanted to swoon, I wanted to cry and I wanted to yell. It was everything I needed in a story! I was totally wrapped up and completely devoured it! This one is a must read! The whole series is! But remember, I claimed Tyler!

I really enjoyed this read.

Tyler & Chloe can't stand each other, but something keeps drawing them together at every opportunity. Chloe is a planner, a rule-follower. However, her attraction to Tyler doesn't follow any familiar pattern and she's afraid now, that she might be in too deep to claw her way out.

Tyler has been attracted to Chloe from the first day he saw her, but fear and uncertainty have kept him away. Believing himself to only be able to cause her pain, he tries his hardest to get her to dislike him, but his plan backfires as he finds himself eager to soak up every single minute with her.

This story shows how giving people second chances to prove themselves could be beneficial. And it reminds us that, no matter how tough it may be, love is worth fighting for.

I hadn't read Mariah Dietz before, but I truly look forward to reading more of this series.

I voluntarily read & reviewed an ARC of this book.

Mariah Dietz is a new-to-me author and, “Exploring the Rules” is my first read of hers. Well, it certainly won’t be my last!

This story is 4 college students, heading into their junior year & taking a road trip from Florida (where they live) to Seattle, to return for the Fall. We have Chloe & Nessa, twin sisters, and Cooper & Tyler, who are both on the college football team.

Chloe & Cooper have been best friends for many years. Chloe’s sister, Nessa, and Cooper like each other & think this road trip would be a great way to get to know each other better. What Chloe does not expect is seeing Tyler get out of the car as the guys come to pick up the girls. She’s not happy that Nessa kept this small detail from her. Chloe met Tyler during their freshman year & while at a party, they shared a kiss and after that, he avoided her (and she he) like the plague. She’s never forgiven him for that night and is extremely unhappy that he’s part of their adventure traveling cross country back to school.

As the 4 start off, we find that Tyler is actually working on this trip for his father. His family is extremely wealthy & owns numerous hotels around the world. Tyler wants his father to see that he’s the right choice to succeed him when he retires & sets out to prove himself. In fact, each city they stay in, they’re treated to beautiful suites in the hotels owned by his family.

Will Nessa & Cooper discover that they really are happy together? Will Chloe get over being in the car for weeks with Tyler? Will Nessa be able to handle the strength of Chloe & Cooper’s friendship, as she tries to navigate her way with her sister’s best friend? Can Chloe forgive Tyler & see him for who he really is?
Only one way to find out....!

This book is about love, friendship, family, navigating relationships that become tricky and so much more. The characters were well-developed, and I really enjoyed reading the descriptions of the cities they stayed in. (It’s a road trip I’d like to take myself!!). This book, for me, hit all the right buttons. I really look forward to reading more from Ms. Dietz!

As soon as I read the little information I seen on this book I just knew I had to read it. It caught my attention and I’m sure glad I started it.

From the get go Tyler intrigued me. He’s so closed off and private even to his best friend. He’s a hard shell but underneath it all is a boy wanting to prove himself, prove how much he can do and what he can be.

I loved Chloe the moment we were introduced to her, she’s my kind of people and I just instantly liked her. She’s quiet and likes her life organised with structure and lists which this road trip is about to break. She wants to be more like her twin sister, her mother and that’s exactly what she’s hoping this trip will do.

The mutual dislike they both have for each other is fun to read especially when Chloe finds out he’s joining them on the trip.

This story is one that’ll capture you and keep you hostage until you’ve read the very last page and even then it’s claws won’t set you free, you’ll be thinking about this story days after finishing.

This author truly did an incredible job bringing these characters to life and telling their stories.

Yeah see, I took a break to write my assignments and finals after the first three in this series, so idk if it's that or the book itself, but I wasn't feeling this. Like at all. Yes, I'll be the first to admit that it takes a little bit of time to adjust to the writing and get into the story itself, but it didn't happen for me at all! This was my least favourite of the series and it pains me to say that because I had very high hopes for it. But here's to hoping Rose's story is bombtastic as her!

Issues I had with the story:
- I have the utmost distaste for the word "amazing"; it's as meaningless as "very". It doesn't sound like a lot, but the amazing was used 28 times in this story - but for some reason every description of anything was"amazing". I was genuinely so fucking sick and tired of it.
- Random interjections of "arsehole" does not a British person make.

This was the first book I have read by this author and it’s also book #4 in The Dating Playbook series I never had a feeling like I was missing something as I hadn’t read the previous books but I will without a doubt be reading more by this author and starting this series from the beginning.

In the very first chapter Chloe stole a piece of my heart her fondness of lists and rules is something that I very much relate to as well as the close relationship she shared with her Vanessa. The moment Tyler steps out of the SUV it’s clear that there’s a deep level of animosity between he and Chloe but just as clear is that there’s more to it than that. That very first chapter had me hooked on this story and these characters.

The more time Tyler and Chloe spent in the together the more evident it was blazing hot chemistry they had they was ignored for far too long. I loved the banter between them whether they were being playful or talking about serious matters each and every interaction they shared made their connection more intense.

I loved the friendship that Chloe and Tyler shared with Cooper they both had their own separate unyielding friendship with him and the basis of each was a deep respect and loyalty that all of these characters held in high regard showed they were genuinely good people that deserved all good things.

Tyler and Chloe’s story pulled me in immediately, it was a beautifully written with the perfect balance of witty banter, blazing chemistry, possessive hero, steam and feels. I’m looking forward to starting book 1 and spending more time in The Dating Playbook world.

So Good!

I absolutely loved this book and couldn’t put it down.

I love the chemistry between Chloe and Tyler. I love how she stands up for herself and is strong in her own ways. I saw myself in her quite a bit. I loved the build up of their relationship and the steam between the two was pure fire. Tyler is such an alpha male but not in that psycho overbearing way. He’s so protective over her.

I enjoyed the relationship she had with her best friend Cooper and her sister Vanessa. And I thought it was absolutely hilarious when they got lost hiking.

This was one hell of a good read and I can’t wait to read the others.

So enemies to lovers and sports romance I had to check it out. Mariah Dietz is a completely new author to me but this was a good start. This starts out as a cross country road trip those are always good. Chloe and Vanessa are twins but their very different in attitude. A care free Vanessa and rule follower Chloe, she is the heroine for this one. She's surprised that Tyler is joining their little trip. He has his own agenda checking out hotel chains his family owns to prove himself.

Chloe is a bit stand offish to Tyler, civil but he just says really AH things. Tyler is used to his affluence but lately he needs to prove himself to his dad. Thet were definitely interesting in their reluctant relationship. It's also spurred on by the sudden change in dynamics between her best friend Cooper who has a crush on Vanessa and vice versa. With all the sexual tension between Chloe and Tyler something does give. As each relationship splits up into pairs it gets complicated.

I guess since Cooper and Chloe are bestfriends they know each other way better. That's hard one for both Vanessa and Tyler. They need to figure out a balance I guess for the each bother sisters and friends vs boyfriends. New rules I guess both ways. While this is mainly Chloe and Tyler's story, the secondary characters Vanessa and Copper played a role too. I felt like maybe they needed their own book in a way. I personally liked the second half of this book more because it's when they untangle the details of the relationship. The first half felt like a prelude. Tyler can be sweet if he doesn't try to push you away. Chloe needs to think out her thoughts.

I didn't know this was part of series, also maybe that it was the last book but it wasn't an issue. Maybe until late in the end. It's pretty happy for now ending sort of which fits. It's sweet too. Regardless this was pretty ok on the enemies to lovers it was more misunderstandings that got in their way. A thoughtful look relationships and friendships.

SEXY ENEMIES-TO-LOVERS ROAD TRIP ROMANCE!!
Tyler & Chloe are hands down my FAVORITE Brighton University couple! The only person who might be able to steal this title is Paxton; I've had a soft spot for him since book 1 of this series and his book is next! Although I've loved every couple in this series so far, Tyler and Chloe have definitely earned the FAVE title fair and square! I love football romances but this one also being enemies to lovers might have cinched it being my favorite!

Tyler Banks wants two things: To play football and enjoy the rest of his college years, then he wants to take over his family's hotel business! Chloe Robinson is normally the steadfast and serious one but after a scary situation she is more determined to let loose and enjoy life more. A cross country road trip heading back to college puts her in a vehicle with the one guy she's avoided for years! After WEEKS of glances, touches, words, moments...before they realize it; they can no longer deny what's happening between them.
Tyler's character really surprised me, his determination and dedication to taking his place in his family business is just one reason I loved his character. The way he is with Chloe was the other! Chloe's best friend Cooper & her twin sister Vanessa being along for the road trip just add an extra layer of fun to this book!

I am really enjoying this series! A Football Romance series where each book is a different trope! It has a little something for everyone!

Below is the series! While I suggest reading the entire series to get the complete feeling of this great crew...I understand some might not. So book 1 and 2 need to be read together (same couple) and then the others in this series can be read as standalones!

The Dating Playbook
1. Bending the Rules (brothers best friend!)
2. Breaking the Rules (brothers best friend!)
3. Defining the Rules (Friends-to-Lovers)
4. Exploring the Rules (Enemies-to-Lovers)
5. Forgetting the Rules (Second-Chance)
6. Writing the Rules - COMING APRIL 29th! (Fake Dating)

I am a total sucker for a college sports romance and this series gives me just what I need. This is the 4th book in this series and I am so happy I was able to get my hands on an ARC so I can let everyone else know how great this is. While I do say this is college sports romance, it’s pretty light on the sports in this book-with it acting more as background than anything else.

Chloe is a good girl in almost every sense of the term. She likes to follow rules, makes lists, control her outcomes. Non of this means she can’t have fun, especially when she is pushed outside of her comfort zone.

Tyler is a college athlete, popular, rich, oh-did I mention that British accent? He lives for the moment while in school, but his responsibilities to family and what he wants for his future push him to all business when needed. He’s always a closed off because others always want something that he can give him.

After ending up on a road trip back to school together, Chloe and Tyler spend more time with each other than they ever have before. Tyler starts to realize more and more that not everyone wants to use him, and Chloe realizes that someone can accept her need for rules while still pushing her to test herself. Their relationship is so adorable to see build.

I absolutely love that this story takes place on a road trip. Anyone who has taken one before knows you end up so close to anyone you are with and this story takes advantage of that. I am also absolutely in love with the relationship Chloe has with both Cooper and Nessa. The fact that Cooper is friends with both Tyler and Chloe gives that extra dynamic I love seeing in secondary characters.

Whoa there is some serious heat in this book .. “he groans, his tongue sliding against mine as his hips flex unto my touch “ -Chloe
Sorry I had to get that out there first because let’s be honest all of you wanna hear about that first anyway ..

I feel honored to be able to read another book in this series.. Author Mariah Dietz brings you in and makes you feel apart of the story .. I felt like I was in the car with these kids on my own cross country adventure.

Chloe is a good girl, she likes rules and structure where as her twin is more free spirited and always trying to get Chloe out of her head. She is determined to have fun on this adventure with her best friend and sister.. until Tyler Banks shows up.. Chloe and Tyler shared a kiss freshman year and rumors and other things made Chloe avoid him ..

Tyler, he’s rich and popular.. he’s got a built body and an English accent that sets panties everytime he talks ... he’s also got a lot on his plate .. proving to his dad that he is the right person to take over and football.. he’s got no time for love but he still wants Chloe ..

Being stuck in the car with my crush/ nemesis isn’t my idea of fun but they really make things work.. I loved the banter and the random nerd facts.. parts of this book hard me rolling with laughter .. there were serious parts too but this was the perfect light read for me ..

I loved these characters as well as Connor and Vanessa.. they really made this book fun as well .. y’all just have to read this book .. I couldn’t put it down ..

This is series is an absolute must read...every time I think there’s no way it can get better, it does!

Tyler is a gorgeous, sexy, cocky alpha, who appears not to be into anything other than casual hookups and football. Chloe is genuine, sometimes too serious, she loves list making, is studious, nerdy and absolutely beautiful without knowing it. Chloe hates Tyler, and he wants to stay as far away from her as possible because he knows she’s the kind of girl who deserves a forever and he’s not that. However, staying away from each other isn’t possible when you end up on a road trip together!

An enemies to lovers story that was wildly entertaining and incredibly steamy!! I went from wanting to slap Tyler to swooning over him. He’s definitely not who I thought he was.

Learning to juggle a new relationship, work, family and friendship doesn’t come without some major complications and tears (and some of those tears were mine!).

I can’t possibly find all the words I’d like to to convey how much I loved this book...I read non-stop and at the end I wanted to flip back to the beginning and start again!

Mariah Dietz’s is by far one of my top go to authors...her writing is beautiful without being over the top, her characters are compelling, and her storylines completely captivate me from the first sentence.

Wow! I absolutely LOVED Exploring the Rules. It made for a perfect read on a rainy Sunday afternoon and I didn’t stop reading until I finished. This slow burn, enemies to lovers story was hot, fun, angsty and heartfelt.

Tyler was a bit of an ass at first, but once you realized that it was a defense mechanism, you realized that he was totally swoonworthy. He was kind and was always looking out for others without them realizing it. He truly cared about his family business and his friends. Once he gave into his feelings for Chloe, he didn’t backtrack and was open about his feelings. He was always looking out for Chloe even when they were fighting.

Chloe didn’t let too many people into her life, but those that she did, she would do anything for them. She didn’t like change and wanted to plan things out so there were no surprises. Tyler challenged her and made her think outside of the box. He helped her began to take chances and broaden her horizons.

These two generated some serious heat, but they also pulled at your heart and made you root for them to overcome the obstacles in their way. They made me laugh and they made my heart ache. I love a steamy, fun, angsty read and Exploring the Rules delivered on all fronts. I highly recommend Tyler and Chloe’s story.

Although this is book 4 in the series it can be read as a standalone. It was my first in the series and I definitely will be going back to read the other three books!

What's better than a cross-country road trip with your sworn enemy... or is he?

Chloe and her twin sister Nessa, set out on a cross-country adventure at the end of Summer with her best friend Copper (who just so happens to be gaga for Nessa) and his best friend Tyler - who just so happens to be the biggest playboy and Chloe's enemy #1. But as the four of them make their way across the country from Florida to Washington State, boundaries are pushed, walls crumble down, friendships are tested and eyes become open. But will all these changes be too much too soon for the new couples?

I loved all the characters in this book. Tyler with his swoony accent and authoritative nature - his ability to push buttons, but his sensitive side and his need to protect Chloe when she doesn't even know. Chloe and Nessa are fun and everything you love about sisters - and Cooper is the perfect friend, protective yet fun. And I loved Nessa and Cooper together too.

I can't wait to open up Books 1-3 and see what I've been missing.

Chloe Robinson is adorable. It’s official, she my new best friend forever. I want to hook my arm in hers and walk the streets of New Orleans claiming beads, drinking hurricanes and eating all the food. I’m so hungry! I want croissants and doughnuts and jambalaya and po boys. Ravenous! Starving!

I love her relationship with Vanessa, there’s nothing she wouldn’t do for her twin. Sisters and best friends. The fact that Vanessa starts dating Chloe’s other best friend Cooper could cause tension but it doesn’t (mostly).

The fantastic three become four with the addition of Tyler Banks. Off they go on a road trip across America taking in hotels in the Banks chain so Tyler can research which ones are performing well and which ones are letting the name down.

Tyler morphs from being a grumpy git to a thoughtful and charming young man. Got to love it when he throws out a wanker, a tosser, a bollocks, and my favourite - a tool!

Loved the ending.

Oh this was fun!

When 4 friends - or not - go on a cross-country road trip, things get tense, of course. Well, Chloe and Tyler have always avoided each other after a drunken kiss - but Cooper, their best friend has always kept them in each others' circles. Forced to spend time together makes them talk and explore that they really aren't that different and they might like each other more than they want to admit.

They sucked me in so much, with their sweet story, dancing around each other, suspecting the other, then seeing their actions speak louder. I love how they discover more and see them in a new light. And let's be real, we all want a Tyler. Not because of his money, but because of how aware and ATTENTIVE he is. Gah. Kill me now.

In the end, I would have loved to see even more of Tyler's British-ness and I really need to find out what was in that giftbag, the mystery is killing me.

Chloe is a woman who thrives on order and routine so she is looking forward to going outside of her comfort zone on a road trip with her twin sister Nessa and her best friend Cooper. However finding out that included in the road trip would be Cooper’s friend Tyler who also happens to be the man she shared a steamy moment with and hasn’t spoken to since was a surprise she didn’t need.

Tyler comes from an affluent lifestyle, is a star football player, a loyal friend and has a way with women but what most people don’t realize is living up to expectations of others can be a burden. Forced to spend time with Chloe in confined quarters they may just realize that they didn’t know each other at all.

I really enjoyed Chloe and Tyler together. They are attracted to each other in spite of themselves, their interactions are humorous and although their personalities are very different, they balance each other to perfection.

Exploring the Rules by Mariah Dietz in the fourth book in The Dating Playbook, but the first I read and did not feel lost. I am however, going back and reading the series! Chloe Robinson has no time for Tyler Banks. The heir to a hotel empire and football legend on campus who is gorgeous but a whole lot of trouble. But when she finds herself on a road trip across the country with her twin, best friend and Tyler, she begins to see a different side of him.

Tyler was determined and charming, but he also wanted to prove to his father he could do the job. Chloe is a woman who needs order, plans and lists. Their story is a slow burn romance and as they begin to fall for each other, they bring out the best in the other. I loved their journey and the secondary characters so much.

Wow. Give me a dirty talking Brit and a girl that is too good any day of the week. I have loved every single inch of this series, and am desperately left wanting more happy endings for the kids of Brighton.
These characters come alive every single time. Chloe and her dynamics, not only with Tyler, her sister or Cooper, but also with herself. Tyler and the way he’s essentially been programmed to expect one thing, with this crew being everything except for what he thought he was getting.
Those sneaky sneak peeks of Cooper, and of Vanessa and the promise of more things to come. Loved.

This was my first book by Mariah Dietz, and it definitely did not disappoint! This book had all the feels! It was a perfect enemies to lovers romance, which I just love. Tyler and Chloe were definitely not fans of each other at the start if this book, so imagine e her disgust at finding out he is joint her and her best friends on their cross country trip. Tyler was a complete jerk to her more often than not, but you could totally feel the chemistry between these two!

All good books have a great plot twist, and this one was great. I didn’t see it coming! I experienced all the emotions in this book, and I now sant to go back and read the other books in this series! I’m hooked and can’t wait!

I love Tyler and Chloe’s story. Unbeknownst to Chloe, her twin sister and her best friend have arranged for Tyler to drive them cross country back to their junior year of college. The tension between them jumps off the page. It makes you wonder, what happened between them to garner this amount of animosity. As they spend more and more time together their previous meetings and misconceptions begin to fade and are replaced with desire. Their HEA is almost derailed by his family commitments but they prevail by making their own rules.

When this slow burner love story finally erupts, it is flaming hot. It was a fun read that showcases some of the more famous US cities and the luxury hotels that most only dream of staying in. Tyler is a dirty talking, football playing British hunk that Chloe can not ignore while on the road. This book has a little bit of angst and a whole lot of lovin'.
