This is an excellent book, covering a lot of aspects of Linux in general but spiced with the Debian specific flavor including background on the past (and future) of the project and for example how Debian packaging works. Also where other Linux works are often limited to the classical 'ls' and 'cd' this also covers quite some modern topics like AppArmor and SELinux but also the migration from iptables and friends to nftp. It has for sure helped me to put some more recent developments in context. Even though the version I read is fully in line with Debian Buster (and thus very up to date), you can clearly feel some chapters start to show some of wrinkles, and some recent developments were not yet part of the book virtualization for example for example didn't progress into containers.
