I write action-packed sci-fi and historical fantasy. I want to immerse readers in another time and place and for my stories to be gripping adventures. You should love my complex heroes and hate the twisted bad guys.
If you like the sound of that then check out; GODS OF BRONZE (my new historical fantasy series), THE IMMORTAL KNIGHT CHRONICLES (bestselling historical fantasy) and the GALACTIC ARENA series (smart military scifi).

I found there was just no depth to it - there was a bit of a mystery in "what's going on with the orb station" but no development of that, because it was hidden from the protagonist.
But the story focusses on 'training to be a gladiator' and a set of lead characters who are basically cardboard cut outs. Including the main protagonist, who's a gamer who learns how to fight in an artificial body. But that's about it. There isn't really any strong development of learning to fight, or having an insight from his background or life, because there isn't really much to it.
It focusses a lot on the action, and that's fine to an extent, but when you find you simply don't care about any of the characters or their struggle... it's devalued.
Everything just seemed silly, flat, and had no depth to it. There was no character development, not once did I feel like rooting for the protagonist. And the prose were an ineloquent as you can get.
I kept reading, hoping that the final showdown would be epic. It wasn’t. You think after over 100 years to plan that they would come up with a strategy to fight these wheels-with-arms-Aliens (weirdest aliens ever), but no, they still have no idea how to bring them down.
There was just a lot wrong with the book, and I don’t want to get into it anymore, I’ve already wasted enough time with it.

Enjoyed this story for all its faults. A great concept, but very disjointed at times. Feels like the author got lost in places but carried on anyway. Will get next in series
Started this book while sitting in a&e waiting for an x-ray for a broken finger. So the initial paragraphs were a bit gory for me then. Stick with it. Great story line, great characters, unexpected ending.
Certainly deserved the five star rating. Kept you right there with the action. Good to see the hero gets to stay alive. Looking forward to the next level of survival of the human race against the insidious enemy.
I have been reading science fiction for 58 years ... This story has some really unique twists and turns ... It has both physical situations and moral situations presented in a synergistic pattern - no easy answers. But it will keep you interested and wanting more.
