World War II:The Fate Of Europe Four Book Box Set

Rate this book
The struggle to halt Hitler's domination of Europe was long and hard fought. In North Africa and Stalingrad the Allies turned the tide on the German juggernaut, preparing the way for the Normandy invasion and the final push to Berlin. The Fate of Europe presents the work of four distinguished historians. Taken together their analyses of these decisive campaigns show that the defeat of Hitler was by no means certain, and that underlying momentous events are acts of heroism and great personal sacrifice.

Devoured this as a teenager and still remember it more vividly than any book I’ve ever read.

I've only read Enemy at the Gates: The Battle for Stalingrad.

Fantastic book. Great chronicle of just how awful WWII was in Russia, and why it broke the Nazis (there is no way the Germans could have been weakened and defeated on the Western front until these events unfolded on the Eastern front).

I've read parts of Decision in Normandy, by intend to read Rommel's War in Africa before continuing with the set.
