Who was Jimmy Hoffa and where is he buried?
That question has been the best kept & unsolved mystery for decades. Aleatha has a pen that just spins webs, strong inescapable threads, silky and sexy alluring. Full of hot, sigh-worthy romance and adrenaline rush of a good crime thriller.
" I don’t want any ghosts from the past coming back to life. She’s a damn ghost and if you cared about her at all, you would have left her dead.”
In this story too she has the same tone of unsolved mystery that changes Araneae McCrie. From the day she's born to the day she is kidnapped by Sterling Sparrow. Her life has turned and turned again....and turned yet again! A new villain emerges who's more dangerous than Sparrow and is getting more powerful!
Her love interest is an over protective, overbearing, all powerful King of Chicago, who has his hands bloodied and blackened with countless sins but heart is full of purest, untainted, deep love for Araneae. He rules Chicago with an iron fist, his fingers in every pie and not a leaf blows in the city without his knowledge.
If McFadden and Sparrow were both gone, every two-bit petty thief, drug dealer, numbers runner, and pimp would be vying for that top position. Right now, we keep those lowlifes in line. Without us, this city would implode.
It made me think of Lion King, of what happened when Scar allowed the hyenas to rule the land.
This installment brings all the spread out clues and tries to chart it into a decipherable plot. Araneae's life is just a breath away from being extinguished and Sterling stands like a bulletproof wall between her breaths and her enemies hell bent on destroying her.

This whole complex story is like trying to follow a fast moving, never stopping chess game where all the pieces, or in this case the characters in play are constantly shifting and the secrets are unraveling.

There's a saying I've grown up hearing and I repeat it to this day - 'Everything in darkness must soon come to light'. I feel that this was most definitely true in this book. All of the secrets and all of the lies were finally out in the open and Araneae's life was in more danger than ever.
Answers abound in this conclusion of the Web of Sin series. Amidst the drama and the danger, Sterling and Araneae grew closer, making them more of a united force than ever. Nothing and no one was going to take them down, not without a fierce fight from either or both of them. I loved how much more confident and self-assured Araneae was in this book, which made her quite the match for the formidable Sterling. I could finally see what kind of queen she would be and she had proven herself to be deserving.
The author did a remarkable job of blending the romance, intrigue and suspense. I think the different perspectives and flashbacks only added to the continuity of the story, giving us, the reader, the chance to truly understand the machinations of this book. Why was Araneae's life in danger? Who was responsible for her being taken from her parents? And what did her father know and what kind of proof did he have that started this all in the first place?
I had so many questions going into this one, as I'm sure many of you will too, but rest easy because the author left no loose ends and gave us a worthwhile and seriously sweet ending.

Thank you Aleatha for sending this copy even when I told you that I would not be able to review on time for the release!
It’s my favorite of the trilogy!
I really liked the other ones of course but what I adored in this one was putting all the jigsaw puzzle pieces together to guess the truth!
In this last installment we are left with wanting to guess what happened to drive Aranea to the Marsh when she was a baby.
How did Josey Marsh become her mother? Who gave Aranea to them? Was her father aware that she has been given away or not? What role did Sterling’s father played in this exactly?
Then of course there is still this “old wives tale” about Aranea owning important information that could be the demise of Rubio. But how could it be possible as she was a baby when she’s been “kidnapped” from her birth mother?
If this is not enough there is still the problem of the FBI wanting to bribe Aranea to feed them information able to destroy the Sparrow empire.
Oh and let’s not forget some kidnapping and other intimidating attempts.
As you can see Aranea, Sterling and their “extended familiy” or “the boys” alias Reid and Patrick (plus Lorna but then I guess I can’t call them the boys anymore) had their hands full!
You never have a dull moment. It’s thrilling and my brain was working overtime trying to guess before them *of course you try to find it before the characters do! Where would be the pleasure otherwise? Duh!* what happened twenty six years ago but also ten years ago when Aranea *known as Renee at that time, follow please!*became Kennedy.
Well I’ve spoken aplenty of the suspense but let’s not forget the love story here. Because Sterling and Aranea in barely one months took not baby steps but giant leaps in their relationship.
From rebelling to be forced to live in Chicago in golden cage and contesting every order Aranea is now happy with her fate as she could see behind the mask Sterling offers to the world. She is now understanding his world even if she does not want to know all the details.
Of course she would not have become so “compliant” if Sterling did not change and agreed to “ask” instead of “imposing”; to try to see it from her point of view and explain. But Sterling will always be possessive and protective and an overbearing Alpha! Let’s just say that he mellowed a little but that it’s mainly Aranea who is now convinced that he has her best interest at heart and does everything with a loving intention!
Now an important word here.
Aranea is really strong and resilient. She chooses a difficult path: seeing the light instead of seeing the darkness everywhere. That’s not to say she has rosy glasses and is ignorant. No she is aware of the ugliness of the world.
BUT
Aleatha reminded us of something very important here.
You may see on the news, in the streets some dark and ugly events. But remember that these if they are loudly displayed are only a small part of the world and that the majority of people are good. Our world is beautiful more than it is ugly.
That was Aranea’s choice and that’s also why she was perfect to balance Sterling and draw him into her light.
I know that some may be furious with Aranea. Because yes she chose to love a mobster. Someone who did and still does bad things. Don’t be fooled here Sterling is not the white knight! He is Aranea’s white knight and he has mobster “ethics” as he draws the line at children. He did wonderful things for victims. But he remains a mafia man. Aranea’s choice to live and accept his world without wanting to see too much of it will displease some readers. They won’t agree with her choice.
And that’s fine I get it. Personally as this is a work of fiction and me being a big romantic with “love conquers all” etc it did not really bother me.
Ok I am stopping here promise!
It’s just been a hell of a ride and I had a fantastic time reading this trilogy.
I recommend these books to lovers or Alpha male and strong heroine who are in heaven with stories happening in the dark underbelly of this world.

If this is not enough there is still the problem of the FBI wanting to bribe Aranea to feed them information able to destroy the Sparrow empire.
Oh and let’s not forget some kidnapping and other intimidating attempts.
As you can see Aranea, Sterling and their “extended familiy” or “the boys” alias Reid and Patrick (plus Lorna but then I guess I can’t call them the boys anymore) had their hands full!
You never have a dull moment. It’s thrilling and my brain was working overtime trying to guess before them *of course you try to find it before the characters do! Where would be the pleasure otherwise? Duh!* what happened twenty six years ago but also ten years ago when Aranea *known as Renee at that time, follow please!*became Kennedy.
Well I’ve spoken aplenty of the suspense but let’s not forget the love story here. Because Sterling and Aranea in barely one months took not baby steps but giant leaps in their relationship.
From rebelling to be forced to live in Chicago in golden cage and contesting every order Aranea is now happy with her fate as she could see behind the mask Sterling offers to the world. She is now understanding his world even if she does not want to know all the details.
Of course she would not have become so “compliant” if Sterling did not change and agreed to “ask” instead of “imposing”; to try to see it from her point of view and explain. But Sterling will always be possessive and protective and an overbearing Alpha! Let’s just say that he mellowed a little but that it’s mainly Aranea who is now convinced that he has her best interest at heart and does everything with a loving intention!
Now an important word here.
Aranea is really strong and resilient. She chooses a difficult path: seeing the light instead of seeing the darkness everywhere. That’s not to say she has rosy glasses and is ignorant. No she is aware of the ugliness of the world.
BUT
Aleatha reminded us of something very important here.
You may see on the news, in the streets some dark and ugly events. But remember that these if they are loudly displayed are only a small part of the world and that the majority of people are good. Our world is beautiful more than it is ugly.
That was Aranea’s choice and that’s also why she was perfect to balance Sterling and draw him into her light.
I know that some may be furious with Aranea. Because yes she chose to love a mobster. Someone who did and still does bad things. Don’t be fooled here Sterling is not the white knight! He is Aranea’s white knight and he has mobster “ethics” as he draws the line at children. He did wonderful things for victims. But he remains a mafia man. Aranea’s choice to live and accept his world without wanting to see too much of it will displease some readers. They won’t agree with her choice.
And that’s fine I get it. Personally as this is a work of fiction and me being a big romantic with “love conquers all” etc it did not really bother me.
Ok I am stopping here promise!
It’s just been a hell of a ride and I had a fantastic time reading this trilogy.
I recommend these books to lovers or Alpha male and strong heroine who are in heaven with stories happening in the dark underbelly of this world.

Reading this book I finally realized something,I don't like mafia romance,because in such romances even if hero is wrong his mistakes(not mistake exactly it is murder,illegal stuff) are ignored because duh he is hero and he will continue doing that and I don't like such people who don't get punished for their crime and people who support them or people who think all this is fine.

The Promises of Answers to all the Secrets and Lies in the Web of Sin Series came full circle. There were so many answers that needed to be answered, I wasn’t sure it could be done. But this ever talented author crossed every t and dotted every i and completely shined the light in this dark and twisted love story.
Araneae’s past is fully revealed in Promises. There are many revelations that she must face and Sterling is always at her side. Her safely and well being is always front and center and the love and trust between Araneae and Sterling becomes ever solid. He is the protective, controlling King of the Chicago Underworld who will stop at nothing to keep his Queen from harm. I must also add that I love the dynamics that Sterling and Araneae have with Reid, Lorna and Patrick and how these 5 become their own type of family.
So in getting the answers, all the connections, from the past and the present, flowed effortlessly. The hows and why were trickled slowly throughout the read but the storyline was fast and addictive. It was captivating and filled with passion, mystery, and danger. This series also has many players and each adds a different and interesting element to the story.
If you like a dark romance, with many twist and turns, a sexy alpha male and a feisty heroine, then I would highly recommend you read this series. This author and her amazing twists and turns will keep you engaged, mystified and oh so Aleatha’d.

Great book!
This book was so good I 've been looking forward to finally getting the answers I wanted from this series. There have been so many twists and turns going on this series and this book was no different. Araneae and Sterling haven't had an easy ride. They have had everything thrown at them and in this book it's just the same. My heart breaks for Araneae she doesn't know what is goin on the secrets and lies just keep coming. It's only Sterling that is keeping her sane. I luv that man! He will do anything for this woman that was alway meant for him and now he has her there isn't a chance he's letting go. So he will do anything to protect her.
I really enjoyed this book. The story throughout as been so addictive. I 've been hooked from the start. The twists and turns were alway so good and just made it so good. They really kept me in my toes. Even though there is a lot of suspense through this series the romance was still there. Sterling and Araneae are amazing characters. They have both changed so much throughout this series. Araneae has gotten so much stronger and Sterling has finally let someone in that he can trust and love. That was something he never thought would happen. This just made me luv him more. I would highly recommend this book and series. You do have to read it in order and there is cliffys so be warned but it is worth it. The story just keeps getting better and better with every book. I m so excited to see what this author does next.

What an incredible series! In this last installment, Promises are made, Secrets unravel, Lies are revealed and the Web of Sins beautifully and thoroughly get disentangled.

Aleatha Romig 's tone once again worked her magic, her characters evolved and at the same time stayed true to themselves. Sterling's protectiveness won me over and Araneae's strenght and increased self-confidence were well handled.
The line between good and bad was crossed and I loved the ambiguity between the Knight in shining armor and the King of the Chicago underworld...

Promises perfectly concludes this fabulous series I recommend if you are in the mood for a thrilling and sexy read. Enjoy!

I'm still in book heaven after reading Promises. The secrets, the lies it all ends here and I couldn't ask for a better way to end this intriguing, mysterious trilogy. Sterling Sparrow proves to be a swoon-worthy hero by that way he takes care of things just to protect Araneae and the people she loves. He's a man of his word. While Araneae continuous to amaze me how strong, resilient she is as she faces life's challenges. The question now is, will they still be together after knowing the truth?
My excitement to this series didn't falter from beginning to end. It's a good, well-written story that kept me glued to the pages. I even enjoyed the secondary characters the likes of Annabelle, Reid, Patrick, and Lorna. This series is one for the book for me. Unforgettable. Highly recommended series.

Thrilling does not come close to describing this book. Promises is the conclusion to the Web of Sins trilogy and I'm happy to have reached the end although I will miss the characters. From the beginning this series is a wild ride traveling 90 mph the entire way. The book is fast paced and will keep you guessing the entire time. Aleatha Romig will bespell and dazzle you with this book. Be sure to clear your time schedule because you will not want to put the book down.

Glimpses into the past clears up the mystery about the how and why bit by bit.
As danger lurks around the corner,Sterling does everything he can to keep Araneae and her loved ones safe.
And at the same time,he,Patrick and Reid are doing their best to find out where the danger comes from.
Their gut tells them it’s her uncle,Rubio mcFadden,but they need evidence…..
Aranea and Sterling’s relationship is growing stronger every day and they have no…almost no….secrets between them.
She knows he can’t tell her everything,but knows she can trust him to tell her what she needs to know.
And her confidence….it grows every day,and it’s because of him.
That gives her the strenght to talk to the mother she never had,her birth mother,judge Annabel Landers.
And it gives her see reason when he puts her,and Lorna,on lockdown when Louisa is kidnapped.
After she spends a long time raging and cursing him that is….
There was too much going on in this final part to go into more detail,but i can tell you it was one hell of a rollercoaster ride.
With a very satisfying conclusion.

Promises definitely delivered. We get all the answers we wanted, but now without a bit of suspense and drama mixed in beforehand.
I am not sure what I can say without giving too much away.
Sterling definitely proves his worth in protecting Araneae at any cost. Araneae proves that she is strong and has no problem heading any obstacle with determination and a fierceness I have come to love.
Aleatha definitely knows how to give us the action, suspense, drama and romance that we crave and write it beautifully. She always keeps us on our toes and leaves with a baited breath. While I felt some things were wrapped up a little too nicely, I still devoured the hell out of this book and the entire series.

I was completely and totally hooked with no hope of putting this book down. The writing and the characters were just as addictive as I found them in book one and in fact, I think I fell for them all a little bit more.
In book 3, Araneae and Sterling’s relationship is once again put to the test, but if there’s one thing I know about these two, it’s that their bond can withstand anything that life throws at them. I am simply in awe with how far these two have come; how deep their love, trust and respect for one another is. They make the perfect team and I just love watching them overcome all the obstacles that life throws at them.
Promises is the suspenseful and heart pounding conclusion to the Web of Sin Series. The twists and turns had me holding my breath with the suspense and danger kept me on the edge of my seat. As you know from the previous books, I’ve had a million and one burning questions and am happy to report that we do get answers to all of those questions. Hit after hit, bombshell after bombshell….let me just say, there was never a dull moment. Promises was everything that I was hoping it would be and in the end left me with a huge, satisfied smile on my face.

Phenomenal.
Promises ~ book 3 in the Web of Sin series by Aleatha Romig does everything it say’s on the cover. This book promises to answer all your questions from the other two books, it gives you a better insight into the man that is Sterling Sparrow and who Araneae really is.
I was so pleased to finally get the ARC of this book so I could continue my obsession with this couple and these people. This book blew me away with the in-depth way the underground cartels worked.
No matter what you think you will get from this series, one thing for me was the way in which in between the lines Aleatha keeps to the morals of what is good and what is evil, she addresses something that is still going on to this day but puts it in a way that makes you stop and think.
The twists and turns in this series have been brilliant; in this book you are not disappointed. Aleatha keeps you guessing right up until the end of what to think and what will happen.
In promises Araneae and Sterling have more hurdles to deal with, more than anyone would think is possible. Araneae has so much to deal with, so much to comprehend and think through what is true and what is lies but through it all she stay’s strong to her own feelings, her own intuition.
I love how Sterling set out with one objective and then everything turned around for him; however, his one main goal that has never diminished is his commitment to keep Araneae safe. He has shown in this book that no matter what she is his No.1 priority and he will do everything in his power to make her see that.

I have loved the two of them from the very beginning, there was never a doubt in my mind that they were perfect for one another and that they were absolutely meant to be together.
Aleatha Romig is a true genius with her writing. As with the first two books I was sucked right in and didn't put it down until I was finished, sleep eh who needs that.
Sterling is truly someone that you wouldn't want to get on the wrong side of and let's just say that if you dare come after Araneae, things will not end well for you. We find out not just what Sterling is capable of doing but what Araneae is capable of as well. They are a very powerful couple and while he does some pretty horrible things, his words not mine, he does some pretty amazing things as well. I wish i could share them with you but that would give away to much but let me tell you that tears were definitely shed while reading the ending of their story.
I have a feeling that we will be seeing more of Araneae and Sterling though, in other books like Twisted which is due out this May...can you tell how excited I am!!!!
This trilogy must be read in the correct order otherwise you will be lost and you don't want that so make sure you start with Secrets. I highly recommend this series for lovers of Romantic Suspense, Dark Romance, Organized Crime Romances, even Contemporary Romances....this really is a must read if you enjoy Aleatha Romig's work.
