Ryder is coming back to his hometown to deliver some keys to the new owners but his bike has some problems, he also had relationship issues with a golddigger.. and once he's in town he sees his old crush sweetheart in the dinner.. and is shocked shes in a wedding dress power baking away. After learning she was stood up and cheated on he wants a taste of Kandy. Making a deal no string attached sex and losing her vcard.
Now since they are in a small town their business is everyone's bussiness lol also Kandy is a baker, fire chief, and mechanic lol like lord talk about small town. Now feelings are changing.
No ow drama slight om drama, no cheating, slight secondary characters, tiny drama, Sexy times, Virgin gal and no manwhore (both had messy breaks with others)

This was a fun Halloween short story about Kandy and Ryder. I love books set in small towns, particularly ones that include small-town diners.

I loved this quick and sexy Halloween read!
Ryder ends up back in town ten years later and ends up in Kandy’s diner. She isn’t too happy to see him, but there was no denying the sparks between them.
They couldn’t stay away from each other.
They agreed to have a no-strings-attached weekend while he’s there, before he takes off again.
And what a weekend it was! It was sexy, it was HOT, and filled with Ryder and his dirty, filthy mouth. *heart eyes*
This short but fulfilling read was perfect. It satisfied my need for a Halloween story full of sizzles.

Kandy meet Ryder when she was in high school. Shortly after she fell for him his family moved to New York. Kandy and Ryder lost touch with each other but she never forgot him. Ryder comes back to Pineville Vermont to turn over the keys to his parents home. His bike breaks down outside of town and catches a ride with one of his dad’s old friends Tommy. They stop at the only restaurant in town, as Tommy rushes inside. Ryder wants to get his bike off the back of the truck but Tommy tells him the bike can wait the pie won’t. When Ryder looks up at the sign he realizes the restaurant is his one time sweetheart back home. When he walks in every seat is taken and a female voice calls from the back to shut the door. Kandy knew Ryder was coming back to town. She just didn’t realize what he’d look like after ten years of being gone. Her one true love that left town and served in the marines is back to sell his parents home. Ryder catches Kandy’s eye from behind the counter. He can’t believe she is wearing a wedding dress and carrying a tray of pies. He offers to help but she turns him down. Ryder finds out it was her wedding day but the groom had other plans. Now Kandy is angry baking pies for everyone in town. When everyone has their fill of pie and leaves, Ryder sticks around. He tells her he’s in need of the mechanic in town and needs the number. She asks him if he was just going to pass through town and not stop. He tells her he was going to stop as soon as he passed the keys over to the new owner’s of his parents home. She takes him to the attached garage to the restaurant and tells him she’s the only mechanic in this town as she looks over his bike. He watches her as she looks over his bike. When she tells him the problem with his bike she tells him she can’t order the part until the morning. She she goes to stand she stumbles and he catches her sitting her on his bike. Then he sits on and picks her up and has her straddling him. He beings to kiss her telling her it’s been a while since he held her like this. As his hand slips under her panties she asks him to come home with her. She tells him it’s his way of repaying her. He tells her more pumpkin pie and one weekend with no strings attached. They head up to her apartment that’s attached, he tells her they’re going to talk about her lack of security. He spreads her out on the closest surface and pleasures her. Then he carries her to her bedroom and takes her virginity. A pounding sound wakes Ryder the next morning. When he wakes her to tells her someone is knocking she jumps out of bed and runs to the door. He has to catch her to make her realize she is naked. Ryder answers the door to find Theo on the other side. Kandy comes out of her bedroom in fire fighter gear. Seem she is also the fire chief. The next day Kandy wakes to Ryder between her legs. She hears someone at her door tells her she is needed. Ted uses his keys to get into Kandy’s apartment and is knocking on her bedroom door. Everyone in town is at her restaurant and he needs her help. Ryder lays still between her legs until Ted looks up and down, she moves so the covers are still over her and introduces Ted to Ryder. Every single person has shown up at the restaurant this morning, they want to know what is going on with Kandy and Ryder. After Ted leave she gets dressed and Ryder tells her he’s going down with her. Kandy tells everyone she thought they liked her pie, now that she had her fill of Ryder she doesn’t want to bake anymore. Everyone moans in distaste. Penelope Wylde's contribution to the Hunky Halloween series is a scrumptious treat! Ryder is a hot alpha retired Marine, traveling through his home town to finish up some family business when his motorcycle breaks down. He ends up in the diner owned by his high school sweetheart Kandy, who is serving pie to her customers in her Halloween-decorated place, wearing the wedding dress she was supposed to be getting married in earlier in the day - before she caught her fiancé being serviced in a different way by her maid-of-honour. It does not take long for Ryder and Kandy to rekindle the flames of their relationship from ten years ago, even with an expiration date on their liaison tied to Ryder's return to the big city.

What a story
Got to love small towns, everybody knows your business. Kandy apparently is the most important person in this town. Ryder and his family lived there, he joined the service and then after leaving the service he set up a security company in Boston. He returned to his hometown to finalize the turn over of his parents house to the buyers. His motorcycle broke down close to the town. He caught a ride to the diner owned by Kandy. She also had several other jobs/businesses. He re-met her on the day her groom was caught with the maid of honor. That was such a good thing for both of them. Ryder and Kandy dated in school. It was so much fun seeing what the two of them went through with each other than the townspeople. Hopefully you'll enjoy the book as much as I have. Written by Cindy :)

Another Well-written Romance.
Penelope Wylde has given her readers another five star book. The storyline takes place in the small town of Pineville where two high school sweethearts are reunited after Ryder comes back into town after being gone for ten years. He stumbles across Kandy who owns/runs the diner, garage, gas station and is the Fire Chief. Whew! Their reacquaintance sparks old feelings. But is it enough of a spark to ignite any changes?
This is another book that’s not to be missed. It’s definitely for adults but if you’re a fan of this author then that’s no surprise. Just make sure nothing combustible is nearby.
Definitely recommending this book for your reading pleasure. Peace.

This is an amazing Halloween story by Penelope Wylde. Ryder is back in Pineville where he grew up before his family moved. It's a small town and he believes that he will be there for a short time. Fate has other plans for him. He is surprised to see Kandy still there. She was his high school girlfriend and the one who he never forgotten. Kandy is making pies on her wedding day. She catches her groom cheating on her with her maid of honor. She always thought that Ryder was the one she was going to marry but if she can't have that then she will take the time that she has with him. Will they get a second chance at love?

This was very well written book 5 in the Hunky Halloween Series with a great cast of characters. These characters were very well constructed where you loved her and her holiday man. I loved the chemistry in this book was off the charts. This is part of a series that has thirteen authors for Hunky Halloween, a sexy-spooky contemporary romance series. First things first; I really like the cover of this book!
Eating Kandy is a novella in the ‘’hunky Halloween’’ collection. This story is short, fast paced and an enjoyable read. I read this book in one sitting and was satisfied throughout. I found the writing style easy to follow, the characters likeable and the storyline enjoyable. When Ryder returns to a town he used to live in to pass over his parent’s house, he doesn’t expect to find love with an old flame.
The chemistry between Kandy and Ryder is clear to see and I liked them together. I liked that they got a second chance together.
I really liked the ending and the epilogue for this story.

What could be better than having your old high school sweetheart come into your diner on Halloween while you are wearing the wedding dress that you were to be married in until you find your fiancee with your Brides Maid/best friend in a compromising position. Kandy is shocked to find hunky marine Ryder in her diner looking for a mechanic for his broken down Harley so she agrees to look at his problem but it will take a few days to fix what can they do to pass the time. Loved this short steamy romance with Kandy and Ryder who have some hot chemistry.

High school sweethearts see each other after ten years apart. Kandy is in pie baking mode after finding her fiancé cheating on their wedding day. Ryder’s bike broke down and he’s in search of a mechanic. Their eyes lock across her diner and old memories surface. Great chemistry and deals making. It’s just for one weekend or is that enough to satisfy them both. I love how protective Ryder is and laughed at “the mechanic” outfit Kandy wears. I read this using my KU subscription.

Good story, great storyline and loved the characters. There is instant attraction and plenty of steamy cold winter nights. Small town love story with big time love. Coming home to to find your high school sweetheart is as sweet and pure as ever. Temptations drive both Ryder and Kandy wild to make a deal. But will the town and their own personal feelings get in the way. This was a quick and quirky steamy story, love the town looking out for their own, many funny OMG moments.

I know I’ve read this story almost verbatim,( minus the holiday stuff) before. I enjoyed reading the story the first time around. When I got this story, I thought it would be a new story. I have KU so at least I didn’t buy the same story but with a different title. I would have been upset if it was a duplicate horrible story, it’s not.

An enjoyable fun read! The storyline is very entertaining, engaging, well written, and well thought out with drama, humour, steam, and more. The characters are likeable; the chemistry between them is off the charts! Definitely recommended!
