I'm happy to be starting this Bible study in early 2021. The Lord has led me to choose Proverbs 31:25 NLT as my meditation verse for the whole year, and this book is all about that verse. I have read through the first several chapters, and I enjoy Katy's funny, honest, challenging voice that will lead me through this study. It has a video component I look forward to watching as well.

When I first saw the title and read the description of Katy McCown’s new Bible study, She Smiles Without Fear, I knew I wanted to read it. I was also aware that many times products do not measure up to their hype. I am now in week 5 of this 5 week study, and am happy to report that this is not the case with this study, It is excellent and met my every expectation and beyond. Here are some of the things which I like about it:
The format - The study is set up for 5 day a week, developing a main idea for the week. This has helped me to really internalize and remember the weekly concept. Much of the study is narrative and is easy and enjoyable to read. There are also questions throughout each day’s lesson and scriptures to study. They are insightful and thought provoking but not difficult. You don’t need to be an academic to complete this study.
Biblically Based - This study is steeped in scripture and is Biblically sound. It lifts up the name and character of God and challenges us to respond based on that. I have grown in my faith and in my knowledge of God as a result of this book.
Practical - While this book is motivating and speaks to our internal thoughts and beliefs, it is also very practical. Each day there are tips on how to apply this concept and how to put “feet to our faith”.
Relatable - Katy’s writing makes you feel like you are reading a letter from a close friend. Additionally, videos are included (one per week) at no extra charge. Katy uses a lot of stories and analogies from her own life to illustrate her point. They are often humorous and always help to clarify her point.
The only downside I can find is that the type is small in the book which can be a challenge for some of us.
Overall, I highly recommend this life changing book. It would work well for a small group to do together but also works for an individual. I believe this book will have something to say to any reader. Even if you don’t feel that fear is an issue in your life, we all deal with facing the uncertainties of the future in one way or another.

A friend encouraged me to join Katy McCown's bible study launch group. I wasn't sure I had the time to do it, but I said yes. I had no idea how impactful that yes would be. I have highlighted so many sentences and made comments. This will not be a one-time read for me.
If you have ever been fearful, anxious or worried about your present and future, this study is a must. We know joy is not based on circumstances. We know that happiness is fleeting. We know to trust God. But this study gives the slow and steady heart work focus needed to walk out living without fear of the future. I've found myself quoting scriptures from the study as I go to bed and wake up. I love Katy's transparency and humor that is combined with deep heart work. You know she has walked and is walking it out with us.
This is my first study of the Proverbs 31 woman and I'm grateful for it!
A few statements that have stuck with me:
-She has dressed her heart in such a way that she has full confidence that she is prepared for the future.
-When we live rooted in God's presence, fear has no place to grow.
-And though we might not actually laugh out loud and frolic through every day, we can live with an inner stability that is not defeated or shaken by life's storms.
Take the time to do the 5 week study. You won't be disappointed. I'm sure you will end up doing what I did...sharing it with many friends!

I’m a bit of a Bible study junkie! In a good way! I’ve had the privilege of taking part in Katy McCown’s Bible study launch. First, I love Katy. She’s an integral part of First 5. Her teachings and audios are always superb. Why would her Bible study be any different? It’s not. It’s actually one of my favorite Bible studies of all time. Why? First, Katy is so funny and transparent. She shares great stories that really add to the Bible study. Second, she loves God so much (maybe that should have been first!). Her writing just reflects such a beautiful relationship with God, and it makes me feel closer to Him too. Third, this Bible study really gets to the nitty gritty of the Proverbs 31 woman. She gets a bad rap sometimes, but Katy does a fabulous job showing the average gal like me some sure fire steps to getting closer to God. Finally, I love her videos. This is a study you do not want to miss. I’d give it 10 stars if that were possible! Can’t wait for her next study!

This Bible Study has been a refreshment to my soul! Katy has a way of tying her own personal stories into teachable moments for everyone and many of them are hilarious. In this study she gently leads the reader to the root of their fears and guides them into pursuing love in everything by reminding ourselves of the perfect love Christ has for us. She has many practical tools and great questions to guide the examination of our hearts and minds and lead us to supernatural transformation. Couldn’t be more pleased with it!

I had the privilege of being part of Katy McCown’s Bible study launch team for her new Bible study "She Smiles without Fear: Proverbs 31 for Every Woman" . Proverbs 31 woman is one that sometimes is hard to understand however in this study Katy breaks it down, this may be my new favorite studies. Katy is honest and relatable, she shares great practical stories of every day life. Her writing really breaks down each virtue of the Proverbs 31 woman. This study challenges you to be still with God every day and challenges you to be more like the Proverbs 31 woman.

This book was incredible. I learned so much about my faith and trusting God for all things. I think the most important thing I gained from this study was that connection with God is so important. I put so many other things in front of spending time with God and what I need more than anything else is to start each day with Him and then talk to Him throughout the day. If you struggle with fear in this crazy world I highly suggest this book.

Fear of the future, especially in the midst of challenging seasons, can be overwhelming. I’m so glad Katy addressed this issue and guides us to a better way. I appreciate her authenticity and biblical approach to every day problems. My favorite takeaway was to rely on the Savior instead of on myself. This truth alone helps me to smile.

Smile without Fear
This book is for anyone who is needing to be reminded that we can trust God with our future and actually smile...knowing who He is and our future is firmly in His loving hands. I did this study at a very important time in my life...battling Stage IV Metastatic Breast Cancer for 2 1/2 years. Its given me courage and confidence to face the future without fear.

I got this study to do along with my young adult daughters who are struggling with finding their footing in life. It has been such an immense blessing to do this study with them. It has helped them so much, they have grown and developed a deeper faith through the course of this study. Thank you!!

My first bible study by Katty Mccown. Based on Proverbs 31 woman is a inspiration to learn how to trust in God in all situations and to embrace God’s peace to smile about the future!!!
