Twelve creative women came together to write this book about women in the scriptures and the impact they had on their world ... and today in the reader's heart. This project was a collaboration of well-known songwriters, authors, and speakers. Each chapter has a song specially written for the content of that lesson. This study brought encouragement, good conversation between women, and a new understanding of how God uses us right where we are.
This was the fall study for the Rolling Hills Women's Bible study group. I highly recommend it if you are looking for a group study or one you want to do on your own.

I took a quick break from Biblical fiction read-along to check out this new release, Faithful, written by a collection of fabulous women. Amy Grant, Sally Lloyd-Jones, Ginnie Owens, Ann Voskamp, the women behind She Reads Truth...just to name a few of the powerhouses adding their voices to this book. In the book Faithful, each chapter tells the story of a woman from Scripture. Maybe she’s well known, but she’s obscure. But each woman’s story has had lasting impact on the narrative of our faith. As I’ve been reading through the Bible and Biblical fiction this year, I continually encounter amazing women on the pages of the text. I loved that Faithful had a chapter dedicated to Jehosheba, who I just discovered while reading 2 Kings and In the Shadow of Jezebel by Mesu Andrews! I also loved the chapter on Rahab, which opens the book. Another great aspect to this book is that there is an accompanying music album. Each woman featured in the chapter has their own song. It’s actually through the music that I discovered the Faithful Project. I found the song Rahab’s Lullaby and posted it on my blog, and started following along the project. So if you are looking for a book of real-life women telling their story and the real-life stories of women in Scripture, check out this book. I am a fan!

I was so excited when I heard about the Faithful project. Several of my favorite authors and artists were part of this project AND they are all women! I love how they came together to use their gifts to create this project. The book is beautiful and the writing is lovely. The album is also wonderful. I read the criticism of one person who gave the book 2 stars saying it is not a theology book and it is these women projecting their emotions onto the stories of women in the Bible. I agree that it is not a theology book. Instead it is an example of how God speaks to each of us individually through His Word that is living and active. We can read a story in the Bible many times and God through His Spirit can teach us new things each time. The writers of this project beautifully express how God’s Word spoke to them and how it relates their own story. God does the same for each of us when we spend time in His Word and prayer.
So I highly recommend this book and project and rejoice to see women artists and writers using their gifts to draw us into God’s Word and how He has used women to further His purpose and kingdom.

Loved this sweet read. In a season of spiritual dryness, this was a sweet gift from the Lord to remind me the simplicity of who He is through the lives of faithful women through scripture, as well as the ways He has worked in the lives of the women who authored each chapter. Each chapter reads very differently, and was a treat. Highly recommend giving the faithful album a listen as well! I loved this whole project!

Faithful by Amanda Bible Williams is a luminous tribute to the enduring strength and significance of women in the Bible, offering readers a rich tapestry of stories, reflections, and artistry that celebrate God’s unwavering faithfulness.
Through a collaborative effort with esteemed authors and songwriters, Williams curates a collection that delves into the lives of remarkable biblical women, illuminating their journeys with profound insights and lyrical depth. Each chapter not only explores these stories but also connects them to the lived experiences of women today, emphasizing themes of resilience, community, and the transformative power of faith.
The synergy of writing, photography, and music in Faithful creates a multi-sensory experience that resonates deeply. It encourages readers to engage actively with Scripture through guided readings and reflective prompts, fostering moments of introspection and spiritual growth. This approach not only deepens understanding of biblical narratives but also underscores God’s consistent affirmation of women throughout history.
In sum, Faithful is a compelling invitation to journey alongside biblical heroines and discover how their stories resonate in contemporary contexts. It’s a treasure trove of inspiration and encouragement, reminding readers of the enduring truth that God’s faithfulness knows no bounds—a message beautifully woven throughout the pages and beyond.
This is the best devotional I have ever done - I highly recommend!

I first encountered the women of the Faithful project at a worship conference in Tennessee. I was immediately taken with the few songs they performed and decided to pick up this book from the merchandise table the last day of the conference.

I am blown away by the encouragement, conviction, comfort, and truth I’ve received in the pages of this beautiful book. I decided to read a chapter a night, and I always went to sleep with thoughts full of the goodness and faithfulness of my Abba Father. The stories of both the women of the Bible mingled with the raw and honest stories provided by the authors offered wondrous testaments to the nature of God and how He loves and cares for women of the faith.

I am so grateful for the courage and obedience of all the people involved in this project, from this book to the album that I’ve been playing on repeat. I’m certainly going to be rereading this many times to come, recommending it to friends, and leaving it out on my coffee table when not in use (because have you seen how cute the cover is?). Do yourself a favor and open up these pages to discover how God has been faithful to the ancient women of faith and continues to be faithful to us today, His daughters and women of faith. You won’t be disappointed!

A compendium of writings by Christian women--authors, singers, songwriters, scholars, moms--women who have laughed and hurt and cried and prayed and loved and despaired. Through an amazing meeting of minds and hearts and souls, these women shared their vulnerabilities and fears, their joys and sorrows. They sought out God and scripture, prayed together, and discovered that God is ever faithful to us women, to all of us women through the ages, as shown by the many women of the Bible and their stories. And through this discovery, they found, as can we all, that God is ever faithful, even to us, even now, even in a world racked with fear and pain. A must read---so very readable, and yet so profound. It includes an outline for a sort of do-it-yourself writer's/creator's retreat complete with prompts. I highly recommend!

As could probably be expected, I enjoyed some segments much more than others. It was an easy read, and I definitely don't regret reading it, but it wasnt a favorite.

In the section on Mary Magdalene, that author writes that in the absence of knowing what had really happened when Mary found the empty tomb, that "naturally, she created a story in her head to make sense of the situation" by believing his body had been removed. I think that sums up an awful lot of what this book was: Making up stories to make sense of the situation, which might be a fruitful exercise for the writers, but felt less meaningful to me as a reader.

Months ago, when the "Faithful" book and CD came out, I downloaded the music. I loved the music so much that I may have "overplayed" it on a car trip with my husband. After listening to the music repeatedly, I wanted to hear more about the women the songs are based on. This book is written by a collection of authors and songwriters who masterfully tell the stories of women in the Bible and how God used them to make a difference, all the while reminding the reader of how God has a plan to use her, also.

Beautiful, hardcover book. One I plan to buy (the one I read was from the library) and I think it would make a great gift as well. My two favorite writings at this time were Eve (by Sally Lloyd-Jones) and Miriam (by Ann Voskamp), but I'm sure if/when I re-read this book in a year or two, it very well could be someone different. There is also music to go go along with the book, which I have been meaning to check to out on YouTube as well.

5 stars ✨

I've cried. I've laughed. I've been moved -- deeply, spiritually, each chapter is breath-taking, love learning more about the women in the Bible and how we can relate with them now. The workshop makes my writer's heart cheer and fly. Hopefully one day I'd love to be a part of something like this. The music pairs beautifully with the chapters.

Thank you for writing, creating, and singing for Him, to Him, and glorying Him. 💕

An incredible book that shined new light on the mighty women of God that God called throughout God's word. Each story is full of hope and challenges to grow in the word. I think every woman who desires to grow closer to Jesus, needs to read these stories of women who have walked the path before us, truly each one gives glory to God, not back to themselves but the Glory is focused on the one gave them a new life.

Beautiful, just beautiful! I really like women empowerment that signified in this book. The authors did very well in orchestrating their stories with the women in the bible, especially women who were on the sidelines. I have seen a different perspective for all of them! The fact that the authors also made a whole album of songs added the icing on the top! Very well done! One of my favorite reads for sure!

I’m in tears as I end this book. The beauty of God’s creativity and love woven through this community of women has given me a glimpse of heaven as they write about the women of the bible alongside their own stories.
“In the end, what we know is this: Jesus rose from the dead and appeared first to Mary Magdalene. He looked at her, His dear friend, and she looked at Him. Then He asked her, a woman, to go and speak of what she had seen.”

I loved this book from start to finish. it's a beautiful collection of work from some of the most inspirational & creative women in Christian Ministry. They pull from their own life events to relate Women's stories throughout the bible, in ways I have never thought of before. This book opened my eyes to the connection that the Bible still has today. So beautiful! 💕

Nice devotional-type book, focusing on influential women of the Bible. I enjoyed researching each author's back story as well, and really connecting with each of their personal experiences that helped shape their faith journey. Really enjoyed the chapter on Miriam.

The stories of ten women in the Bible told by female singers, songwriters, authors and artists. Jesus told Mary Magdalene to go and speak of what she had seen. That’s the mission of Faithful to Go and Speak. There is a podcast and a beautiful album to accompany the book.

Simple but sweet book. Faithful is a collaboration of famous authors and songwriters writing short chapters on faithful women of the Bible and the ways God worked through them. I definitely enjoyed some authors more than others, my favorites being the stories of Rahab, Leah, and Jehosheba.

There were parts that were very encouraging and other parts that just didn’t flow well for me. I think it depends on the personality of the writer. Some I loved and others were okay. Just my thoughts.

I finished this in half a day it was so go and inspiring. I always love to read about women of the Bible. While I did not listen to the album that goes along with this while reading, I still was able to enjoy. At the end the reader is invited to write what they experience while reading this and listening to the album. There’s is a list a prompts, 3 a week for a month. Since I borrowed this from hoopla I don’t have enough time to do them but I think they’d be great for someone who has the time and has read this.

Along with the book and the album there is a podcast that is supposed to be coming and I can’t wait!

An uplifting read emphasizing Jesus as the hero, not the women. Maybe a little liberty taken with the details of these women’s lives but encouraging nonetheless.
