Is adulthood a curse ? What should I do with all these participation trophies? As young adults try to figure things out and answer deep, soul-heavy questions, they’re given flak for living in “extended adolescence.” In a world that insists we can (and should) have it all, Adulting for Jesus uses humor to offer topical advice and encouragement for those who are asking, “Is this really all there is?”
Develop realistic expectations and a healthy, godly outlook on life Readers will find that by learning to laugh at themselves and find humor in situations, the reduced stress and anxiety makes the ride so much more enjoyable. Most importantly, the more young adults learn about God and see His faithfulness in their lives, the more they grow to love His will, even if it’s not exactly what they imagined.
Really encouraging, this will be a book I read many times. Inspired me to do a lot of reflection on my own life and see a lot of areas where I can grow in my faith!
I so enjoyed this book and I definitely will be recommending it for my younger friends and family of that generation. Even though I'm a GenX I still enjoyed this book. Definitely looking into her comedy and her other books. Well done.
I really enjoyed this book and highly reccomend it! It really helped me through some rough parts of my life in my years of adulting post-grad. Literally so many things can happen in such a short span of time in your life, and this book really emulated that. It provided the comic relief and faith-based approach I was looking for. I honestly felt like this book really helped me see my growth and reflect on it for this past year. I loved it so much that I bought another copy to give to a friend! There are so many wonderful anecdotes and quotes that are pulled that make this compact book of advice really special 😊!
Kristin Weber, accordion playing millennial (and apparently, life-coach), hits it out of the park with this honest approach to living for Jesus in the midst of sorting out life, the universe, and everything. With practical thoughts on walking through anxiety, ambition, and disappointment, Kristin is a welcome voice to all those 20/30 somethings who are simple looking for community and value in their adult lives. If you have ever wondered if your life matters, if things will be okay, or if God cares for you - you will find the answers in these pages.
Hard hitting yet lighthearted. Incredibly well researched. Speaks directly into every thought process that we worry about when it comes to our purpose. Kristin has a deep understanding of the power of God that shines through the wisdom that she has to offer. I will be re-reading this as well as the other book recommendations she has at the end of the book. Highly recommend. This is one you can come back to time and again.
This book was timely for me. At a time with so much going on, so many distractions, and so many anxieties, it’s easy to forget the presence of God in the midst of all our adult activity. But yet all of us feel that insecure shame that we should be better, do better, and have better, but Jesus is better than at all.
(3.5 stars) I met Kristin several years ago, and this book was a welcomed gift from my mom to me after graduating from TU in May. Kristin is funny yet thoughtful, and this book offered timely advice as I negotiate immediate post-grad life. It covers a range of topics, though maybe at the expense of their depth.
This book is an easy read that is refreshing to the soul. With humor and truth, Kristin Weber encourages and empowers readers to live for God in a season when nothing seems to be going as planned. This book is for every adult regardless if they're in college or retired.
A classic case of “don’t judge a book by its cover.” This book was such a pleasant surprise - hilarious and well written, and I read it at the perfect time during my quarter-life crisis.
This book helped me so much my first 2 years in college just reminding me to trust in the lord and his plan for me. Highly recommend this book to anyone as it seems to have a way of applying to every possible situation in life!
I have followed Kristin Weber's comedy over the years and her thoughtful and humorous blog posts when she kept an active blog. If you enjoy the more casual but thought-full writing that is not quite theologian but still uses scriptures and life experience to provide helpful insight about the common struggles we all go through in adulthood whether you are entering for the first time, or have been barely passing as an adult for twenty years. then this book is for you. It entertains, encourages and even entreats.
This book was absolutely amazing I loved it so much. And when I read it I was applying for new jobs and not getting one I wanted and this book was so good and so helpful to what I was going through. It was just what I needed to read. Highly recommend!
This book may be aimed at young adults but it really is applicable to all of us. Kristin is a wonderful storyteller and weaves in a bunch of great ones.
