The man with a black heart has found someone to love.

Theodore ‘Teddy’ Black is the veteran of his ex-partner’s task force. An exceptional knife fighter and hand-to-hand combat expert, he's perfectly placed to infiltrate an illegal cage fighting ring. He’s also head-over-heels for Jenny Smith, foster mum of criminal mastermind Wayde Logan’s daughter.

Jenny, the focus of his live-in protective detail.

Even though Logan has been denied bail, his reach extends further than Black would like. Jenny and her foster daughter Ashley are placed in safe house after safe house, the moves taking his protective detail into the public eye. With both Jenny and Black living on a constant knife edge, tension explodes between then, an attraction neither can try to deny. Jenny knows better than to get between Black and his job, but she manages to push the strict boundaries he's set her. When he promises her a single dirty night together, she doesn't know if it's the start of something incredible, or the end of everything she cares about.

Black can't believe he's offered Jenny what they both crave. He knows it's a bad idea, but he can't keep his hands off the woman he's sharing the ghost of an existence with.

When the cage fighting assignment conflicts with his protective detail, Black is strung between his loyalties.

Oh! My! Goodness!!!! I just KNEW I was gonna fall in love with Black!

From his brief appearance in Blindsided, I knew his story was gonna be my fave so far!

This story was action packed with just the right amount of sass, snark, gruffness, and steam!

Jen was a force to be reckoned with. I loved how strong she was even when she couldn’t see it herself, I absolutely adored her relationship with Ashley. Whether they all knew it or not, they were one big family that looked out for each other.

Black was everything the name stands for. His clothes were black, his heart was black, hell even his attitude was black! But little did I know, Black had another side to him!

The plot had a twist that I did NOT see coming! Sofia, girly you got me because I just knew I had it all figured out! Actually there were two plot twists and I was wrong about BOTH!

Anyways, book three of The Blue Blooded Brothers was a huge success! I suggest you all get a lil Black in your life. After all, Black is my signature color🖤

Sentinel is the third book in the series and while it is quite enjoyable as a standalone it is enhanced by reading the other two books. This was my first Sofia Alves book and once I finished I went back and read the first two book in this series. Teddy Black is part of a protective detail for Jenny and her foster daughter. He has been protecting them for two years and they have strong feelings for each other. Both know that getting involved would be a bad idea but they are drawn to each other. Teddy has an assignment that sees him fighting nightly in cage matches and when he returns to the safe house each night, it is Jenny who tends to his wounds. The relationship between Jenny and Teddy is complicated, nothing about their situation or feelings is easy. The story is great, there is action, suspense, a few twists, and some hot sex. Sofia does a great job with the characters and providing backstory if you have not read the previous books. I really enjoyed this book and look forward to more stories from this author.

This is a deliciously dark book about a cop who is dedicated to putting away a madman, while at the same time protecting a woman and her adopted daughter, who also happens to be the madman's daughter. For over 2 years, Jenny and Ashley have been in witness protection, moving constantly. Black is always there for them, and has fallen in love with Jenny. He is a tough, hard man, and also incredibly loyal. In the end, he will put his girls above all else, including his own heart.
Sentinel is the third in a series, and is much better read as part of the series, although it can also be read as a standalone. The story is intense, fast paced and action packed.

The plot of the book was different for me. It certainly did catch my attention. There are a number of characters. The writer did a great job of telling the background story for each character. The book provided enough action to keep me entertained with the book. The book did some realism to it that I liked. The writer did a great job with the storyline. I voluntary reviewed this ARC after receiving a free gifted copy.

I received an Advanced Reader Copy and this is an honest and unbiased review thereof.

Wowser! Ms. Aves certainly took no prisoners with this one!! She made her intent known from the beginning and never backed down, this was going to be gruelling and, believe me, it was! There is so much suspense and emotional turmoil, unforeseen twists and turns and the ones you see coming, but believe me, you're going to need tissues for this one before you're finished, well I certainly did, anyway! I loved this book and can't wait for the next in series! Highly recommended!

WHAT A RIDE, UNPUTDOWNABLE‼

This book is a great read. The action, suspense, plots and sex scenes were incredible. The story of Teddy and Jenny is presented in a well written pace and the plot twists were so unpredictable. I loved the thorough back stories of the characters. All in all Ms. Aves, you knocked it out of the ballpark! Can't wait for the next installment. 5 Stars!

This is an amazing read that will grab you and keep you reading from the moment that you start reading. You will not be able to put it down. It moves along at a great pace, has characters that you will fall in love with and a story that will not let you down. This is a must read and needs to be on your TBR list, you will not be sorry that you did.

This is the 3th book in the series and I recommend to read them all in order. I really liked it, it’s very intens, a bit dark and full with emotion.
The characters are realistic and I loved them!
I even had to cry at some point.
Another great read in this series by Sofia Aves.
And although it’s written in first pov, wich is not my favorite pov but that’s just me 😅 definitely five stars!
I received this arc from the author and this review is my honest opinion.

Theo Black, a hard man yes but his heart was filled with Jen and Ashley keeping them safe for the last 2 years had given them time to become his girls even though he would never make a move. Jenny was strong, she had to be even though Ashley wasn't her biological daughter she was hers and she would do everything to protect her from her psycho father Logan, and keep her feelings for Theo rightly locked away. This has the wow factor the vibes here are insane, with all the testosterone going on yes I loved it. I voluntarily reviewed this book.

Sentinel is the third book in the Blue Blooded Brothers series by Sofia Aves. This is the first book I read in this series. I do have to go back and read the two prior books because I missed some of the important backstory of the characters. I thought the book was as good as a stand-alone too. This book follows Theo Black, a cop on the task force and his developing relationship with Jenny, a foster mother that he looks after. Their chemistry is undeniably hot but it took a lot of convincing on both sides. I will read the two prior books and will be looking forward to seeing what will happen next in the series.

Thank you to the author Sofia Aves for giving me an advance copy for my honest review.

WOW! I am absolutely loving this series. Sentinel was beautifully crafted. It had just the right amount of steam! The characters are developed so well they could almost be real people. I loved every second of Jenny's romance. A must read!

Just WOW! This was a fantastic book from beginning to end. It was filled with 🔥 steamy scenes and lots of action. I felt like I was watching an action packed movie with lots of heat. Black's hard core alpha male is matched perfectly to Jens strong, brave and sassy character. Thank you Sofia!

I hate doing this but as an honest reviewer I can't pull my punches on this one. It dragged! Theo is in his mid fifties if I worked it out right but behaves and acts like a kid in his twenties. He isn't consistent with either the under cover work or his protection duty, but then again nor is the team supposedly working with him. I'm actually more surprised superiors haven't split them up and moved them elsewhere. I've never known a team less like one in any book I've read. As for Jen, lonely and living a hermits life with only really a young girl as company, I could understand her temptation but at the same time she had been moved so many times, why would she risk what she did. Also in consistencies with foster/ adoption, these are two very different things. Fostering, yes a child can be moved at short notice if in danger. Adoption, no she is legally the child's mother and that child can't be snatched without child services having been to assess etc. The years these guys have worked this case seem to keep changing and I can't keep up. The number of ways the guy in prison still operates doesn't ring true, he isn't mafia, how can he have the reach he does or the money to have so many in his pocket? I hate being negative on a story and the over all idea for this is good but this is supposed to be a fast paced suspenseful series and it isn't. I liked Theo and Jen, I really was invested in their story and hoping it would be fabulous, but even the sex fell flat and I'm sad about that and even though I've bought it, I'm not sure I can read Micah's book. Which after 3 full length and two novellas is a hard choice to have to make. Feeling let down on this. Started 9/8/21 Finished 10/8/21

I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

Sentinel is the third book in the Blue Blooded Brothers series. I’m invested in these guys, but my interest is waning. This third book is about Theo Black, one of the cops on the task force this series follows, and Jenny, the foster mother he watches over. In the second book and this book, I find myself struggling to follow along with the storyline. It feels to me like their are holes in the plot that would help me follow better. Information about the undercover operations is lacking, and I find myself wondering what is happening, why it’s happening, and how we got there. In Sentinel, I don’t have a clear picture of why Black is undercover in underground fighting rings. Unfortunately, I don’t find anything to be redeeming about Black either. Jenny deserves so much better, and she seems sadly happy with the scraps Black throws her way. I usually like the gruff-guy-big-heart trope, but I didn’t feel like we ever got to see the big heart part of it. As for the series, even though I’m invested and want to see it through, I’m not sure what direction it’s headed. The task force team seems less and less coherent and more just an afterthought to this third book. Cal, who I loved in the first book, is actually a character I’m starting to hate. I’m hoping this is remedied in the next book, but I’m feeling doubtful. I gave this book three stars for the action and because it did have a lot of heart. This is by far the most emotional book so far, and I found myself in tears a few times. Overall, I didn’t love this book, but I’m looking forward to learning how these guys’ story ends.

This is book 3 in the series and I have loved the previous books, watching the guys try and bring down Logan whilst also dealing with their daily lives.
I've really been looking forward to Black's story, after seeing him on the sidelines for so long, however for me this book didn’t quite live up to the previous ones.
The case against Logan seemed to take a bit of a back seat, it was much more emotional and focused on the growing relationship between Black and Jen.
Black is clearly a complicated character and has a very protective streak, having looked after Mila and now Jen with Ashley, he's also a little mysterious and a lot bad@ss.
Having spent the last several years hiding in various safe houses with Ashley, Jen has clearly gone past stir crazy and is simply going through the motions, but Black has always been there for them both.
There is a mutual attraction between Black and Jen, but he was giving her so many mixed signals I'm surprised she didn't have whiplash.
I struggled with a few aspects of the story. Like what Blacks role actually was in the task force/investigation, and how they'd managed to hide Jen and Ashley so close for so long.
The hardest part for me was Liam and Cal. After loving their stories in the previous books, for me they managed to screw up big time with one action, and I'm not sure I can ever forgive Liam for the things he said - even with the way the story ended.

This is the third book in the Blue Blooded Brothers series, it can be read as a standalone but I really think that you need to have read the previous books to understand the story.

Jenny is the foster mother to Ashley, the daughter of a highly dangerous psychopathic killer, Wayde Logan still spread his evil web even from prison and was determined to get Ashley away from Jenny

Theodore Black, ex army, who is currently part of a highly skilled task force but working undercover as a bare knuckle and knife cage fighter, was tasked to protect Jenny and her daughter.

Jenny fell head over heels for Theo, he reciprocated but couldn't let his attachment put him off his guard so he tried to resist Jenny.

Theo is a very hard man, only Jenny and Ashley ever saw his softer side.

Jenny is a feisty character but is she up to coping with Theo's dark side ? will she understand him better after a hot weekend away ?

There is a lot of dark tension and emotion throughout this book, at times it seems to drag a little and the task force didn't appear to work as a team as much as in the previous books. Having said that I did enjoy the story and I look forward to seeing how the story is wrapped up

I am so happy that I received this book as an ARC to read and review. It is the first book I have read by Sofia Aves and is a standalone book. Although it is the third book in this series and I will be definitely going to read the first two!! This is Theo, Jenny and her adopted foster child Ashley who has a huge love of unicorns and glitter. Ashley’s psychopath father wants her even though he is locked up in jail, but has a far reach to the outside world. Theo has been on protection detail of Jenny and Ashley for two years, along with the team of men moving and keeping them safe. Theo takes on cage fighting and underground as well to try and find more evidence against Logan (psychopath father) to make sure he stays in jail.! Jenny tends to Theo’s cuts, bruises and sore muscles. How can you not fall for a hot looking guy you get to have your hands on, even if it’s to only tend to his aches and pains. For you guys out there how can you not fall for a woman who puts her child’s needs and wants ahead of her own and is brave, smart, caring and has the hands that always find that one spot to soothe. This book is filled with action, tension, family drama, suspense and hard to put down!! Highly recommend it!!

Rating: 4.37/5.00

So this isn’t something I usually read so it was fairly new to me. On top of that, I haven’t read the first two books either. Now it makes everything much different. I was reading something out of my comfort zone and diving into a world without prior knowledge of it. I read the first chapter and I’m thinking, ‘Who is this guy? And why is he growing on me already?’ I’m talking about Teddy Black.

From the reviews already posted, I understand that a hint of Black had made an presence in an earlier book. To be honest, I’m glad he got a book for himself. He’s that type of a character. You’ll totally love him from the start. He’s as badass as you can get.

Moving to the plot twist. My, oh my. I did not see that coming. I was blindsided. This is what I love about Sofia. I keep thinking I’ve got her all figured out in her books. But every time I read a new book by her, it surprises me.

To sum it up, this book is action-packed, steamy, fast paced and much more. Loved it!

Thanks Sofia for my Advance Copy.

I receives an arc in exchange for an honest review.

This is the first book in this series that I have read, I may need to go back and read the other books so I understand the relationships and history of the characters.

This is a story of deceit, protection, love and determination.

Theo will do anything to protect Jenny and her daughter. Jenny will do anything to protect her daughter. The attraction between Theo and Jenny continues to grow but Theo knows the relationship will become a distraction for him to do his jobs. Jenny is in hiding and is lonely and her feelings and desires for Theo continue to grow.

Jenny is ultimately betrayed and Theo is there to protect her and pick up the pieces.

I actually give this book 3 1/2 stars. It’s not that I didn’t like it, I did, but I felt let down. A character I originally LOVED from the last book, Theo, lost the very quality that endeared him to me in the first place. A teddy bear filled with dynamite in the first book became a bitter man who pushed everyone away, for their own good, and the original man didn’t show until the very end of the book. I feel that he should’ve shown more throughout the book. Jen is fantastic. I loved seeing more of her development in this book. I still like this series and look forward to seeing what happens to everyone. I just hope Theo stays true to himself from now on.

I read an arc copy of this book through book siren.

Sentinel is Book 3 of Sofia Aves Blue Blooded Brothers series. I have not yet read the first 2 books in this series and while I did follow along okay, I do feel like there was some backstory that was missing so I do plan to read the first 2 and then this one again to fill in some gaps.

There were so many times I wanted to shout at both of these characters. Black was stubborn and determined to keep his distance despite living together for so long and Jen was so desperate for company that she made some really dumb choices.

Overall this was an enjoyable story with an interesting and engaging plot.

I borrowed the “romantic” mystery series on kindle unlimited. I absolutely loved “Collision” and “Blindsided”, the first two in this series. I would’ve given extra stars to “Collision”! Maybe that was my problem. Reading them set me up for a letdown. This one just didn’t seem to go anywhere. There really wasn’t any action except for disagreements amongst the team and the hot standoff between Theo Black and Jenny. Then add in the BDSM and that blew it for me. I got into the story with the first two books and want to find out what the final outcome will be otherwise I’m not sure I’d continue with this series.

Theo Black is a protector, and to him that is of the utmost importance. Even though has fallen in love who the two people he is tasked with protecting. He can't let those emotions cloud his duty, but its getting harder by the day to ignore these feelings. They are still all haunted by Logan, so wants to get his hand on them and will never stop. He must keep the girls hidden and protected, which requires them to be essentially locked up and hidden at all times. Feelings start to emerge, simple touches begin to ignite sparks and soon there is no denying what is there. Only problem, danger is still ready to pounce and take it away. I enjoyed this book, a great addition to the series.

Jenny and Theo’s story was no less entertaining than the first two books in this series and I’ve really enjoyed Sofia’s writing style. I loved Theo’s character, and how protective he has been over Jenny—even when she didn’t realize that he was there. Despite her not really comprehending the danger that she’s in, he is still willing to step in to keep her safe, which I found to make him a great character. It was a great page-turner and I look forward to reading the next one in this series!

Ashley is the daughter of a criminal and Jen is her foster mum. They are in witness protection with Black being the primary watcher. They have been a “family" for two years with dad in prison, but he keeps finding them.
This is the story of keeping Ashley safe from her dad with the best support “family" they have available. It is also about people learning to love. The backstory is interesting and there are unexpected twists. I highly recommend this story with it's underworld storyline.

The battle between jobs and what your heart desires. This book has great characters and storyline. I love learning more and more about the characters of this group. Ending made me so happy. I have cried through this book, winced, and laughed. This author does an amazing job at making you feel like you are there and feeling all of the emotions that these characters go through.
