I’m on the run from danger, so why is it that Mr. Dangerous Next Door has me feeling like I should run into his arms for safety?
I’m so leery of why, or what’s attached to that. I’ve almost given up thinking men are genuine, although I do manage to keep a positive outlook on life.
Rule he says.
Rules make things work better. Something about that makes me uneasy, yet comforts me at the same time.
My life has always been in chaos and it never got me anywhere. I could actually use a little structure, some firm guidelines to help me dig myself out of the hole I currently find myself in.
And the man next door just might be the one to help me.
This is a short, steamy, daddy romance. No OM / OW drama and no cliffhangers. Always a super sweet HEA.
I’m not into the daddy sub fetish really, but it was hot with a bit of imagination. Took a while to really gel, as there were so many different sub plots.
This was okay, but I guess I was expecting a little more than what I actually read. The plot was fun but seemed very unpredictable. I like fast story lines, but this one moved a little too quickly, which I understand since it is a novella, but that just added to how it seemed like there was no way this could have possibly happened. Will I keep reading more? Most definitely. A short and easy read with just the right amount of spice!

Every little girl needs an older male figure who will help her find her way in life—who will help her to distinguish right from wrong, and who will be present in her life, protecting her from those who would take advantage of her youth and sweetness. But for Diana, now 19-years-old, life without a father had been a life of emptiness and danger as she was shuttled through the foster system, an orphan who had learned that the best approach was to treat all men with caution and suspicion—even the men who should be the embodiment of strength, honor and integrity—like a police officer or a principal. But Diana had learned that even the individuals whom society told her would protect her were not to be trusted. And so, just a year from high school graduation, caught in the foster care system and apparently an easy mark for dishonorable men, Diana ran away.
Now a year later, 19-yr-old Diana is a legal adult, but in her heart she is still a little girl longing for a Daddy who will be the person to love her and to help her find her way in the world. And so, she had lived alone, working in a diner, with only enough money at any time to cover her apartment rent. And, while the area in which she lives and works is not the safest, it is a short walk to the diner where she works. But when she is attacked in an alley within sight of her apartment building, she is stunned by the appearance of a man she has seen every day—3 times a day—sitting in the diner where she works. And, he lives in her across the hall from her. And after saving her from attackers, he escorts her to her apartment, where Daniel makes a discovery that answers many questions about his little timid neighbor. As she opens the door to her apartment, Daniel looks over the little girl and discovers her best kept secret. Lined up on her futon that serves as bed and sofa is a line of stuffies awaiting the arrival of Diana, a little who badly needs a Daddy who can help her find her way in the world that she is not equipped to manage on her own. And Daniel knows that he is just the Daddy who can be that man.
This novella was my first experience with a Lena Little and I look forward to reading more.
And pleasantly surprised! Not sure why I had lower expectations, but I'm happy I was wrong, and doubly so! Not only did I adore both the H and h, Daniel and Diana but the storyline was exciting and engaging. I loved how it was written, the background to each mc's story unfolding along with them, at the same time they're getting to know eachother, we get to know them so our reader enjoyment wasn't bogged down by preconceived notions due to knowledge we were told about the characters before they knew it about the other. It was awesome and helped the reader stay in the book because it wasn't until they told each other things about their lives giving their trust over , that we found out too, and it was like BAM! Wow, this was already good when we were just reading about a guy who found the woman he knew to be his "one", and loved their interactions as they built up that insta-knowing into a fleshed out relationship, not totally revealing all of their selves the first minute because even though they felt the pull, they had the instinct to know it needed to grow a bit while they "learned together" as the ddlg play was new to both in experience, but so fitting for them that it was as if they couldn't have played out these things because they were only "ment" to experience them with one another and no one else, and it felt genuine and true for the reader as they made the discoveries together building on their insta pull to ONE Another making that bond strong enough for them to handle what came next in their shared story's, which is where the romance took a turn in the excitement lane( I'm not gonna spoil that for you, cause it's part of when made me love the 5 stars it earned as it's so well written I gave this rating happily)... Definitely read! It's good for any mood your in and I mean if your a lover of adult romance genre, it fits everyone even if the kink isn't usually your jam, trust me you'll still love them together!
Daniel is a stalker, living in a not-so-good part of town, for his own reasons, fallen in love-obsession with his neighbor and Diana, the neighbor is on the run it seems, who knows she is being stalked and seems to like it, is very attracted to him, but is still vary and scared of what she feels and what may happen to her.
Daniel brings complete daddy vibes, like a protector, provider, what with him being an older man who suddenly realized what had been missing his entire life… A younger woman to take care of, make her his in all ways. It’s a typical DDLG story, but the best part is that is a story behind it, its not just a typical genre book.
“I’m a man, that’s who I am. And like any man I know my responsibility is to make women feel protected, treated with respect, and cared for.” “A man needs a woman to care for, to feel complete. It’s something I’ve learned recently, very recently. And for that reason, there’s no reason to thank me for anything.”
Daniel is extremely frank, bold and once he sees her in danger, he realizes that loving her from afar is out of the question. He has decided to claim her and protect her and that’s what he will do.
Friedrich Nietzsche who once said, “The true man wants two things: danger and play. For that reason, he wants woman, as the most dangerous plaything.”
it was ok. it was a bit weird how she mentions herself as the h's favourite author and some things didn't really make sense or seemed too convient and the lay out of the apartments still confuse me like they where right next door to each other but he could see in her window? confusing. :\
3.75/5 STARS. Okay so at first Daniel gave me stalker vibes but as the story rolled through I enjoyed him. He’s a bit too straight forward and says shit that makes him sound like a stalker. Like the diner scene, the first time they spoke gave me so many off vibes but Daniel and his 37 year old self sound hot. Especially the hotel scene. Both have dangerous pasts and dangerous people are after them. But they get past that and they get married and have 3 or so kids. Daniel does not let down.
This was my first Lena Little book. I was expecting just smut, but I loved that there was an actual story line with a problem to be solved along the way. I even loved that the couple didn't jump straight into the sack. I got a kick out of the fact the author referenced her own work in the story which shows she doesn't take herself too seriously. It won't be my last book by this author.
Daddy Next Door by Lena Little – This one is on Kindle Unlimited. I don’t know why it cracks me up when authors plug themselves (or kindle unlimited) in their books! While on the run from a creep, Diana finds a crappy apartment and a job in a shady part of town. Lucky for her, her next door neighbor Daniel is a retired undercover cop laying low. I liked the pacing and the action in this one! Happy Reading!
Daniel noticed his neighbor the instant she moved in. He gets these protective feelings when it comes to her and he plans on becoming her daddy for the rest of her life. Diana doesn't plan on letting anyone into her life I mean after all she is on the run, but her next door neighbor Daniel calls to the little girl inside her. This is a great read and I highly recommend it!
Great read Daniel knows what he wants and that is the girl next door he makes sure she is safe as he follows her home and saves her from some thugs. Diana doesn’t know yet but all that changes when he introduces himself he keeps her safe all she has to do is call him Daddy.
This novella was hard to put down! Like, you knew Diana was running from something, but I didn't see Daniel's backstory coming. When her story is revealed, it just took the whole thing to another level! I loved the couple's dynamic, and appreciated that he had to work for her and she didn't just fall in line with his demands!
Daniel is hiding out from dirty cops. Diana is hiding from a fake cop. These two find each other at just the right time. This is one Daddy who will protect his Little at all costs.
I thought the story was alright, but it was definitely short and fast paced. The dialogue got a little cheesy and it felt like the author promoted herself in her own book which was weird. Overall, ok read but not one I’d read again.
It was a ok read I guess. Daniel is in hiding after blowing the whistle on high ranking officials in his police station. He is now layin low in the dangerous part of town and keeping his head down. Until he gets obsessed with the girl next door....
Daniel and Diana, two people running from their past. He's a Daddy and she's a Little, and the two of them were meant to be together. This is my first book by Lena Little and I can't wait to see what the rest of the series has in store.
This was a decent shorter read. There were some parts that felt awkward, and I didn’t really feel a connection to either character. The scene when the past comes back was good, and definitely kind of terrifying.
I loved this book how the characters were displayed and loved the storyline make me feel a little naughty during the talking in the different scenes. I enjoy myself tremendously looking forward to reading all of y’all other books.
At first I didn’t quite know what I thought of this story. But as it progressed I started to care for the characters and the story. It was a jolt when I learned their backstories. I am very glad I read this book!!
It had a good story. Daniel was definitely obsessed with Diana. He is able to explain the difference of Daddy and father to Diana. He also made her see the difference of a Daddy and a pedo. Not all men are Daddy’s. Some are just men who are posers and bad men.
“My tummy hurts the chocolate is too rich” then he makes her eat it all cause they don’t waste food. That’s so not a daddy a daddy makes u eat all ur food(actual food) if it’s desert save it for later especially cause ur stomach hurts. Do some research
Daniel and Diana grew up orphans but he will.show her that he is the Daddy she needs. He will protect her, care for her and make sure all her hurt goes away.
Seriously, with this book I was uncomfortable with the word daddy. Some other books use this daddy concept and it feels more passionate. However, in this one I felt that word creepy
