In Jillian Chance's debut novel, The Fall of the Sharp Sisters, two sisters' fate hang in the balance after an innocent invitation is extended to a mysterious man.
Quirky sisters, Finley and Eliza Sharp, reunite to celebrate Thanksgiving after spending a year apart. Eliza, sensitive and plagued by impulsivity, invites a mysterious man named Bellamy Reed to join her and her sister in Small Pine, Oklahoma, a peaceful town full of charm and Southern gentlemen. However, this well-intentioned invitation triggers an explosive chain reaction where harsh words ignite frenzy, sparks fly among friends and lovers, and someone unearths buried secrets. And through it all, the question remains: Who is Bellamy Reed? And how does one invitation, one secret, one omission of truth cause so much heartbreak? So much chaos? No one knows what is about to unravel, and no one can change the hand of fate- no matter how unexpected or hard they try.
Jillian fell in love with writing in front of her father's typewriter as a child. She had an obsession with writing stories that involved oddball characters, like an old lady who collected thrift store shoes for no reason, and she thoroughly welcomed her fair share of rain-drenched detectives. "The more rain, the better!" she would say.
Now, of course, her love for writing runs deep, but she also loves podcasts (historical or strange!), music (all of it!), movies (romcom), and let's not forget, her lovely husband, her rambunctious children, her naughty cats... and Oh! Almost any craft or herbal tea she can get her hands on!
The Fall of the Sharp Sisters is her debut novel.

Impressive! Can't believe it's a first novel. I loved these characters. Depth. True to their culture--whether an Oklahoman or a New Yorker. Looking forward to finding out more about the mysterious Bellamy Reed!
The Fall of the Sharp Sisters by Jillian Chance was completely intriguing and held my attention until the final page. This author writes with a captivating sense of mystery which really draws the reader into the story. The plot was layered without being overly complicated and unique but still relatable. It was the perfect balance of romance to intrigue and really kept me guessing until the end of the story. This novel felt more like a journey and the end wasn’t really the final destination, but a small stop along the way. The conclusion, while satisfying enough to complete this chapter of theses characters lives, left me hooked and waiting for the next book. *This book contains some mild language and some suggested/closed door romance scenes. This book is general market fiction, not CF.

I found the characters incredibly interesting, and I think Jillian has a very special way of conveying her characters' emotions and journeys through her stories. She sets the stage with wonderful setting descriptions, and her cover is so gorgeous. I can't wait for the second book!
