A different kind of slice-of-life The gray urban underground filled with artists, junkies, violent musicians and artists, and the kind of characters that could only exist in the relentless pressure cooker known as the inner city. Skye Wright, a resident of the punk dive Hell Nose House, bikes and grinds and fights her way through the Concrete Jungle along with her too many housemates, all of whom live lives of noisy desperation.Stripper bands, crazy dealers, surly punks, and an assault on all things not completely warped. It's fiction that's just as strange as life!
I am a native of the San Francisco Bay Area. I was born and raised in this region, unlike most other citizens of the Bay Area who are from another state or another country. I am a veteran of the punk/metal/new wave/oh-my-God-what-did-we-do-last-night club scenes of the San Francisco Bay Area in the Eighties and the early Nineties. I run marathons, I write novels, I meow back at cats and say hi to strange dogs that I meet. I am also a web applications engineer and a dedicated worker bee for the Oakland Athletics.
If you’re in the market for a well written story about the adventures of a group of totally realistic city punks, then this is the book for you. You’ll meet a cast of delightfully crusty and entertaining friends and follow them as they move through their lives in pursuit of drugs, burgers almost better than drugs, sex, and shows. These stories feel like they tease you, Only skimming the surface of what promises to be a much deeper story. I’m looking forward to knowing Skye and her buds better in some of J’s other works. Would recommend!
