This book is not only incredibly beautiful, it is also exceptionally helpful. Kaylee includes amazing, actionable tips alongside stunning photos to get you motivated to put her advice into action. If you are brand new to photography, you are going to find a treasure trove of information in here. If you are a professional photographer, you will learn some really specific and helpful tips on how best to conduct a photoshoot with a dog. I consider myself to be well-versed in dog behaviour and training but I still found myself having light-bulb moments while reading her chapters on dog behaviour. Anyone who wants to take photos of their dog, or another pet, would love this book and should definitely check it out. Would make a spectacular coffee table book even if you're not all about taking photos yourself.
I will re-read this book many times over, just for the photographs, the stories and the how to guides. She never says it is easy, but her love for the dogs and her enthusiasm for helping to give them all a second chance at a happy life is infectious. My retirement project was going to be bridges and churches. Not any more. I will try her tips and tricks for getting the perfect marketing shot for aiding that second chance. Obviously I will have to share my 100% peanuts peanut butter, but it's a sacrifice I am willing to make. I love this book. Kaylee is my photographic hero.
I have probably read most books out there on pet photography and Kaylee Greer's Dogtography is the best one out there by far. The book is filled with her beautiful photos and if you can stop drooling long enough at her images, she gives you all the information you need to start photographing dogs. I love that her first chapter is about learning dog body language. Knowing your subjects is something needed to be talked about more in pet photography and Kaylee does a fine job addressing this. Wonderful book and all pet photographers should have this book in their library.
I picked this up solely because of the title and cover. I'll probably never be a professional photographer so I did skip the really technical chapters but otherwise think this would be informative and helpful even for amateurs or anyone who loves to just take photos of their own dog. Plus it's filled with some seriously stunning images!
What an amazing read, would have never guessed someone has a book on how to create step-by-step detailed explanations on how to take wonderful pictures of your best friend. Loved it.
Kaylee Greer is an excellent dog photographer! I've admired her work for years. This book was a fantastic introduction to dog photography and it has helped me with my photography so much!
