This series opened my eyes to all the great reads I was missing because I thought I didn’t LIKE sci-fi. I LOVE sci-fi! The authors are so talented at describing the backdrop of the story line that, as a reader, I can smell the oil, feel the sticky blood, hear the screams, taste the desperation, and imagine the chaos and creatures like I was an eyewitness. The clever way they pull each of the events along in an approach dedicated to the characters and scene happening at that point in time is masterful. It is a network of stories that you can actually feel the suspense as the book careens to the last page. I can’t read this series in public because I cheer and gasp and cry out loud. I am going to need therapy by the end of the series.

Great set up

This book had a slower start than others in the series but the characters and action scenes were great. The set up for the next book makes you crave the next installment. I can’t wait for the next one!!

This is not your average sci-fi/horror. This is an intense ride with depth. There’s great action, fierce conflict, and a deeper look at what it means to be human. Multi-dimensional characters will suck you in the quality of the writing will keep you engaged. I truly love Endo and Alice. They are different, yet not really. Don’t miss this one!

So, I've read the whole series thus far, and while the whole sci-fi/horror genre isn't usually my thing, I'm a fan. The pace continues to accelerate from chapter one through the end. You won't see the twists coming.

Just read it! But please read the other 5 first. This series is great, you don’t even need to be a science fiction reader to appreciate it. It is truly character driven and the characters will keep you coming back.

Moskau mistake spells the doom of orkish domain. The collapse of the miserable soviet union is accelerating. Moskau having gone silent, soviet sleeper cells, command coordination denial assets of first rate spycraft are activated. Endo having failed to die and be remembered having carried out the will of heaven, rescuing the emperor, is dead, yet still lives - "They were all the same. They all died the same. Men died. Only Endo was different. He was dead, yet still lived."

The dramatic pursuit of blood for blood mentality comes a full circle. "Quick minded, ruthless and intelligent", truly the words that come to mind to describe the general secretary, a dictator with a personality cult. Sokolova's inclusion in the story, while short showcases the delusional thinking that being bombarded with state propaganda 24/7 indoctrinates into regular citizenry in a war glorifying, military obsessed society under war economy.

"World at War" explores more of Alice Winters' personality change. Having consciously acknowledged and embraced the reality that "There is going to come a time in your life when you don't have any good options. Where anything you do makes you hurt. But you decide what's right." John Winters from book 4. Favorite action sequence must be Alice Winters fighting kacap CAG armed personnel: "The soviet union was a cold, dark place.", "No time to think only react, so was the way of war." ,"They've spent too much time in a CAG designed to fear, too large and hard to move, meant to cower populations. Have they ever fought for their lives?"

Conclusion: 4/5. Listened on Audible bought for 1 credit. Narrated by: Tom Taylorson. Audible sells Reality Bleed: Season 2 (book 5 - 8), for one credit, the length of the book and the quality of the story, an amazing purchase. "Reality Bleed" literary universe's factoid - the operation to resupply west Berlin by air was deemed too unrealistic in Reality Bleed universe. Endo is experiencing life in full i.e. to live is to suffer. "There was no beauty now, no reason nor purpose for things." "Teacher had offered no lessons in morality. Only in servitude." Glad to see Morat alive and together with Alice and Mollar. Predicting, after looking at the titles of the future books, cronux spread in a predestination manner. Cronux is a multi-dimensional highly adaptive virus with a hive mind. Being ever adapting a "better" mother form from humanity's stock. Or an alternative strain of the same virus in humanity having it's own mother of cronux. Terrible value for the length of the book - 1.66 $/hour ( 10.40 $ / 06 hrs 17 mins ).

Values:
Terrible: >1.66 $/hour
Bad: 1 - 1.66 $/hour
Good: <1 $/hour
Dream: 0.4 - 0.27 $/hour

Stars:
1 - Not worth the resources to reproduce/preserve this title.
2 -Bad
3 -Good
4 - Personally, love it
5 - Recommended to everyone

You have failed.

He killed again...it didn't matter.

You have failed.

The time was 11:56. One minute later, it was 11:57.

You have failed.

I wonder what I'll have for...

You have failed.

I believe the author has failed me this time.

I guess I have the unpopular opinion here but this installment in the series just felt dull and disappointing. The writing and prose felt lazy and repetitive. The scenes which should've been exciting or exhibiting some sort of suspense fell flat. The plot seemed very predictable as well. I have enjoyed other books in this series, and I feel that the first four books (taking place on Felicity Station) fit the sci-fi/horror element much better.

This series just gets better with every book, the proverbial diamond in the rough. Great plot-line that just gets more exciting, thrilling, intriguing and horrifying with every turn of a page.

4.5 stars. I liked the beginning of the series a bit better than the rest. It seemed a bit repetitive at points. Overall, the series has been great so far!
