Good Omegas never disobey their Alpha. Too bad I’m not one of them.
Everyone I know thinks I’m insane.
That my own imagination pushed me to a life of solitude.
But I know better.
The monster that’s been haunting me is very real and he’s finally captured what he wants… me.
Darien Stone is used to taking what he wants. As the world’s most influential Alpha, his power and wealth have Omegas groveling at his feet.
But I’m not like other Omegas.
I know exactly who he really is, and want nothing to do with his blood money. He thinks he can control me, that I’ll bend to his every desire. But he’ll quickly learn this seemingly perfect Omega won’t go down without a fight.
Captured by the Alpha is a dark standalone novella, complete with a HEA!
Liliana Carlisle is a romance author that loves angst, drama, and passion. The spicier the better!
She resides in Northern California with her husband, stepchildren, and emotional cats. She started her writing "career" in seventh grade, writing Backstreet Boys fanfiction in her notebooks. When she's not writing she can be found studying classical voice, playing Fortnite, or gulping cold brew.
I enjoyed this and I actually found the female lead likeable. I think considering she was an omega who was thought to be on a the weaker tier she was quite strong. As for Darien I liked him too but I did wish he was a tad more alpha in this thinking rather than just in action. I will definitely try out more books by this author.

Man it was choppy in places and a little rough around the edges. I don't know if this is in the same world/series as her other book. It had been so long since I read it, I couldn't remember, but it felt like I should know more background information than I did, so I found it hard to connect. Also it really wasn't realistic this couples ping-ponging feeling and in the end you just tell me they fall in love. I hope books keep getting better in the future.
Ivy Williams is an Omega who just turned 22 and had never had a heat. At this age, she would be considered a spinster already! No one else knew that at 21, shadows had started to appear in her peripheral vision, eyes watched her, something sinister followed her. She was never alone and could barely function with the anxiety it produced. No one heard the footsteps behind her. The medication she was given didn’t help. After a year of this, she has no friends and her mother is ashamed of her. Then one night her cell rings during a bad storm. A voice says, “Outside.” She ignores it and tries to turn the lights on but they stay dark. A text comes in, “Outside or we are coming in.” And when her mother’s address was texted to her, she had no choice but to comply and walk outside into the darkness.
Famous billionaire Alpha Darien Stone is very smug and satisfied. A year of isolating her, but it worked perfectly. Now she has no one, she is paranoid, and by the time anyone notices she is gone weeks later, she will already be his Omega and he will create his alpha heir. Once he has his mate, word will spread across the political world. And once his heir is born, his legacy will be all but untouchable. When she opens her door, two alphas grab her and shove her into an SUV. One injects her and knocks her out for 8 hours. She wakes up strapped into the seat of a plane, on her way to the jerk who had her kidnapped.
It seems to be a losing battle. Although Ivy never had a heat before, her body is indicating she will now. It can indeed happen – when Fated Mates are involved. Maybe he will get what he wants from her after all. But he waits for her to call for him in her discomfort, he wants her to want him. He longs to bite her mating gland, but again he waits for her to beg him to do that. But no matter how intense things get, she fights him all the way. So he finally gives in and bites the skin, and they have their first kiss and she can feel his emotions! Now he won’t need to lock her in her room. Being away from her mate will make her physically ill and she won’t be able to leave. But what happens when his deadliest enemy sneaks onto the island and kidnaps Ivy? Can she survive this? Can he save her life?
This is an exciting, action-packed story line that keeps the tension high. The characters are well-portrayed, eliciting strong emotion from the reader, especially at seeing how Ivy has been callously manipulated. But things change rapidly and the reader is kept on edge until the very end. Grab your copy and hang on for a wild experience that will never slow down!
Alpha Darien kidnaps Omega Ivy to breed her; she is understandably upset. Will the two ever...You know what: who cares?
I'm going to be blunt and say that I hated this book. Luckily, I've read this author's other works (they get better) or I doubt I'd have read her again. While I understand that the Heat/Rut thingy means that the MC is consumed by their hormones -- even if they've just met -- at the end of the day, a reader needs to believe that the couple connects in a way that transcends raw sex in order to invest in them. At least I do and I didn't.
And why would I? Here's what Darien does to Ivy:
1) Sets up multiple hidden cameras in her home to spy on her 2) Stalks her to the point of inducing so much paranoia (well, it's not paranoia if you're right) that she has to visit a therapist 3) Induces so much terror in her that she refuses to leave her house; her agoraphobia cuts her off from her friends and her family 4) Sends an abusive Alpha to kidnap her, beating and bruising her in the process 5) Leaves her handcuffed all night and her bleeding untreated after she cuts herself on shards 6) Tells her when she thinks about throwing herself off a cliff that it's a painful way to die
And, oh yes, says at the end: "Sorry, babe, I realize I could have gone about this differently." And, Ivy, that doormat extraordinaire, replies, "Whatevs, honey, we're good."
If any of the above sounds appealing to you, then go for it. For me, the H was irredeemable; the h had no backbone; and both are so ruled by their hormones that little else bonds them. Though I felt sorry for Ivy, I cared nothing for them as a couple. All the slick in the world can't make up for the sheer viciousness someone would have to possess to deliberately destroy another's mental health. And I can't suspend enough disbelief to buy that Ivy could so easily trust and forgive someone who did that to her.
2 stars. The only reason why I'm not giving it 1 is because Darien won't rape her. I guess even he has some lines he won't cross.
"I don’t deserve this. I invaded her privacy for a year, forced her into my world, and put her through hell. It’s only been a week, but I’ve never seen that look on her face in the year I’ve watched her."
He couldn't be more right; he doesn't deserve her. The MMC wanted a genetically compatible Omega for heirs (naturally). After he found her through a data base he proceeded to put cameras in every room of her home, stalked her for a year through the cameras and men he put on her, made her so paranoid so she would lose all her family and friends and become agoraphobic so he could kidnap her to his island without friends and family noticing for weeks before calling the cops....?
Why make her go crazy with anxiety and essentially ruin her life when you are supposedly super rich and super good looking and don't care about her choosing you back anyway and could just kidnap her before putting her through hell? I finished the book hoping to find the moment where he apologized and knew that he could have tried to woo her first and get her back to having a family and friends. But nohoho he got her to his island, explained that he wanted the most compatible omega for breeding, cuffed her to the bed, called her derogatory names without reason just to hurt her. He treated her like she wasn't a person. Took all her rights from her: her choice, her body and her freedom. And the book has the audacity to end with him being the hero and her getting pregnant. How can he be reedemed in under 2 weeks for a year's worth of hell? Also it didn't make any sense that he treated her like the people, that he wanted to take down would treat her?! Why kidnap her and take away everything from her when you want Omegas to have rights?!

Not bad omegaverse story but the writing was kinda rushed and there wasn't much of a character development or time devoted so that the relationship between the MCs could grow and evolve. Still, this was surprisingly different from what I have expected from this genre, with an stalker alpha with a mobster vibe to him. I liked it.
This was a fairly quick read with a wonderful setting for more stories to come. The author did a pretty good job in getting us involved with the main characters despite the short length of the book. Yes, there wasn't much time to really develop a plot but the barebones were there and they did plant a very curious desire to learn more about this particular world. As a first-time reader of this author's work, I am super intrigued and will be doing my research to see if there are more books set in the universe of this book. Darien and Ivy made a delicious pair, with so much history even before we meet them. I was hooked as soon as I saw Darien's obsessiveness with Ivy. Both have a moment where they try to deny the truthfulness of the pull towards each other- Darien wants to simplify his emotions and Ivy wants to deny her attraction for the Alpha. The insta magnetism that Alphas and Omegas have was very well used given us a spectacular mating scene.
It's a NO for me. What exactly am I supposed to take from this novella??? I am honestly disappointed and confused. Was this a writing exercise?
The MMC was awful, and the story tried to make a "redemption arc," but failed miserably. The whole kidnapping-turn-"love" was unbearable at best and disgusting at its worst. More specifically, the storyline itself had a combination of two of my personal pet peeves. One, "sex" being overly used as a literary device to make a romantic relationship progress. Two, in omegaverse narratives, "heat" being used as a biologically induced r@pe. Those things, in addition to the rushed writing and lack of character development, left me with nothing to rate. To be honest, I feel a little bad because I know this writer has done better, and this was such a letdown. I now feel a little hesitant to pick up another of her books.
Romance trope: omegaverse Series: Dark Alpha Duet Length: 117 pages
Plot: Darien is from a powerful family with ties to nefarious business. He wants an heir, and if he has to have a mate to make that happen, he'll find a suitable omega. He begins by isolating her and making sure that she will belong only to him. Finally, he brings her to his home, but it may not be as simple a transaction as he thought it would be.
Commentary: It was difficult to connect with or like Darien. He was spoiled and oblivious to how his moral ambiguity affected others. He said he was trying to end the omega suppression but the dad he (sometimes) seemed to revere sounded like an actual awful person. And he was thinking about helping the omegas - but not his omega. It was pretty gross, actually, and I don't think I believed he had any serious reckoning with what he had done. Ivy deserved better, especially after what he did to her and her mental health and her personal community. Eww. I like the world building but hated the male character. So three stars where the others were four.
The writing and editing was a little rough, with multiple typos. Hopefully that will be fixed in the retail version. The world building was okay, if not especially vivid. I would have liked more descriptions of the way this society is structured. The characterization was a little rough, with the heroine especially being sympathetic if not especially nuanced. I am not sure that the hero had understandable motives for kidnapping and imprisoning the heroine. It did not seem to really jibe with his desire to defund and get rid of the omega prisons. The development of the romantic relationship was enjoyable, though I would have enjoyed it more if the characterization had been better for the hero. The plot and pacing was tight and exciting, meaning I read this novel in one sitting. There was high angst, but also very high stakes which meant I was still able to enjoy the story. This novel used the Kidnapping trope and the Mating Bond trope. The world building was three stars. The characterization and development of the romantic relationship was three stars. The plot and pacing were four stars. I rounded down and gave this novel a combined rating of three stars, though it is more accurately three and a half stars, in my opinion. I did enjoy reading this novel. This novel had a Happy Ever After ending instead of a cliffhanger, so that was a big plus. I recommend this novel to readers who enjoy m/f omegaverse which does not end on a cliffhanger. I look forward to reading the next book in this series when it releases, though I am not buying myself a keeper copy of this novel, due to a little rough writing.

This is the second Omegaverse book I’ve read by this author and I’m getting more and more invested in these books. I can’t wait for more!
Ivy and Darien’s story was interesting, intriguing and hawt. Their connection started strained and smoothed out as the story unfolded. It worked for me. I didn’t think I’d like Darien, he was a self centered and selfish man. And here I am hoping he’ll make an appearance in a new book. Wonderful!
The depth of the characters, their flaws and pasts definitely made this this book. I like the authors way of creating these people and telling their stories.

I like the world-building of this omegaverse story, in that it is a world where some omegas are kept caged in detention centers because they are 'defunct' according to Alphas. It means that they are basically kept there as prisoners, to be exploited by power-hungry alphas. Now saying that, Darian is considered a king of alphas by some and a monster to others. It was his father that started the detention centers and it is his family's legacy now. It has made them billions and lots of enemies.
When his parents were brutally murdered, he decided that he didn't need love. Now he just needs a mate for a hair that all; his heart needn't be involved. Yet when he sees Ivy, he can't seem to control his usually stellar emotions. How can this little omega be throwing him into such a tailspin? She may hate him but her body says otherwise. He just has to figure out a way to get her to overcome dislike of him, protect her from his enemies, and still get his heir. Should be easy.
A short enemies-to-lovers dark romance between an alpha and omega with a dose of billionaire alphahole who kidnaps his Cinderella and makes her fall for him. The plot is fast moving and light on plot, heavy on the dark romance with a bit of dubcon for added excitement. It was written well enough, but could have been a bit better if written to be a full-sized book rather than a short, but that might just me being greedy for more! Overall, it was entertaining and fast moving so glad I grabbed it on KU.
4.5 Stars Really enjoyed this first book I read by this author, a well written and fast paced story in the OmegaVerse realm. It really pulled me in and I didn't put it down until the final page. Darien and Ivy make an explosive pairing and I loved their interactions and realisations that together they make a whole from their broken pasts. A grippy read that packs in everything you need for a couple of hours of pure entertainment.

This is an entertaining story with interesting characters. The author takes them on an action packed journey and builds the tension, keeping you reading to see what's next. It's a fast paced story with a realistic feel and I enjoyed reading.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book. All opinions in this review are my own and freely given.
A quick satisfying read. I liked them as a couple and separately as characters. Just the right amount of good in Darien to offset his stalker ways. Ivy was defiant but not over the top. Together, they were sweet. He was smitten and she let him in.
Not a lot of time to get into multiple layers or complications but that’s ok. Sometimes you just want a nice story and for it all to work out. Good guys win- bad guys get what they deserve. HEA.
This book definitely moves quickly, but has all the Omegaverse favorites. I wish it showed more of the Omega taking the lead be cause she is a little more feisty, but I'm not complaining. The Alpha has a dark, tortured past, but he's still overly aggressive and mean in the beginning. Avery is a charming addition be does his best to knock some sense into Darrien (sorry if its spelled wrong).
The story had a great flight that just wasn’t developed enough. I would like to have known more about her family and her family’s reaction. I’m choosing my words carefully so I don’t give away any of the plot. And I was like two more information on his backstory. I like this song so my expectations for a bit higher. Still a good story. Just too short. 🔥🔥🔥🔥/5
Hated Darien. After the shit he did, I dont think there was enough plot to redeem him really. If there was more plot that showcased them both bo ding abit, the story would've been much more enjoyable.
It was nice keep reading this omegaverse romance but this was not my favorite. I don’t know, just didn’t feel it. Enjoyable but just not my favorite. Maybe the beginning.
This was an amazing read! Talk about an Alpha! Darien was really hard but it took his mate, Ivy, to soften him. I was really happy with the relationship progressing and the two finding love with each other! I would definitely recommend this book.
Yawn.. what a snooze fest. Uninteresting plotline, bland heroine, and one-dimensional hero. Chemistry was lackluster. There was nothing interesting here to hold my attention. Giving it 2 stars. At the most.
Found the background story captivating and loved the Alpha and Ivy! Wish I had an Alpha like that!! Hope the author writes signatory in the same Omegaverse, perhaps featuring an older Alpha like Avery finding a second mate? Can't wait for more books ...
