Rock Bottom #2

Trouble with the Hotshot Boss

Rate this book
How did I screw up my life in three easy steps?

Step one: Graduated from college with no prospective jobs lined up.
Step two: Moved back home with my parents because no job unfortunately equaled no money.
Step three: Forgot to social media stalk the guy who broke my heart before accepting a job in a town with a smaller population than a frat party on a Wednesday night.

I should’ve quit, but living with my parents forever didn’t seem like a solid life plan.

Jase Hale was the golden boy. Our boss thought he was beyond talented. The receptionist sent him more flirty smiles and baked goods than was considered normal for a woman old enough to be his mom.

I tried to avoid him and his undeniable charm at all costs.
He did everything he could to get under my skin.

Every encounter left me reeling.
Every smirk made my stomach flip.

I assumed he was just playing with me, pushing my buttons like always. But when he lifted me onto my desk and shut me up with his lips on mine, I was more confused than ever.

It didn’t matter that he was trying to prove me wrong. Having my heart broken by the same jerk twice in one lifetime wasn’t an option.

He’d already blown his shot, and I had no intention of getting in Trouble with the Hotshot Boss.

4 Never Meant to Be Stars ⭐

"Hating him was safe. It was what we had been doing for too many years now, but I could admit to myself and only myself that I did miss being friends with him.
But I fucked that all up."

In Double Shot we meet Jase and Sophie who were once friends. When a hookup goes pear shape, Sophie ensured that she put plenty of distance between herself and her brother’s best friend. Having returned from college, jobless and back living with her parents, she’s in no position to be turning down a job that would mean working with Jase.

Jase had regrets but, in his heart, he did the right thing. Turning his back on Sophie many years ago was the only way to protect them both from his best friend’s wrath. Except now she’s back and he is forgetting all the reasons why he should stay away.

It’s easy for both Jase and Sophie to hide behind their anger or remorse, but spending regular time together only highlights how happy they make each other and how much chemistry they exude. However, once the animosity is replaced with casual sex (and I mean the really hot office kind), its obvious they’ve replaced one obstacle for another.

Bloody hell these two were obstinate. I didn’t know who I wanted to smack first. Watching them sort through their idiocy was exasperating yet worth reading. The beauty of all books by Holly Renee is that you’re assured a well written story filled with relatable characters, amusing dialogue and plenty of steam.

⭐️ 5 "Sexy at the Office" Stars ⭐️
Wow! Double Shot was an amazing read! I hadn’t read the first standalone novel in the Rock bottom series (I almost never read a series out of order but I couldn’t resist this one), but was easily immersed into this story! Holly Renee once again delivers the perfect blend of humour, emotion and crazy hot moments in this office romance. Have I told you it’s also a brother’s best friend romance, one of my favorite trope?

"I wanted to kiss the shit out of her and throttle her at the exact same time."

I can’t stop thinking about the swoon factor this story gave me. The chemistry between Sophie and Jase is so powerful! Their flirty banter is hilarious as well as irresistible. Every moment shared is charged with so much heat. Their underlying feelings are so apparent, but they deny them making the anticipation agonizing!

This couple is so explosive and hot! Seriously, I was fanning myself from their heated encounters at the office! They’re just so naughty!!! As much as they have an intense physical response to each other, there’s so much more too. The development of their feelings is a beautiful process that stole my heart piece by piece!

"He was my boss, he was my brother's best friend, but I had never craved a touch so much until I felt his. It was insane, but sanity felt overrated."

Double Shot is a fast-paced story you don’t want to miss. I laughed, swooned and cried with these amazing protagonists. Holly Renee penned another winner I’m delighted about!

I have been waiting so long for a book in this series and it honestly couldn't have been better! I don't know what it is but I always read Holly's books in one sitting, I guess they are just that goooddd!!!

You say enemies to lovers and I'm there! Although these two weren't much of enemies, they tried to hate each other but it was pretty hard for them. It's also an office romance and brother's bestfriend, can you say this is the perfect trope combo? Hell yeah!
Just like I had loved Tucker, I couldn't help but love Jase so darn much!

Double Shot was a great read, filled with just a little bit of angst and a lot of hot and steamy moments. Those office escapades were pure fire. Jase and Sophie had a lot of chemistry and I was living for it. Holly Renee definitely rocked it again with these two!

I LOVE this series. And I'm so happy that we got to see Tucker and Kennedy again. I loved getting to see them get married, it was such a swoon moment. My babies. Now I want to go back and reread their book.

”Falling for Jase would be like slipping into a lovely kind of déjà vu. He was like a drug. Addictive, dangerous, and destructive.”

Double Shot was my first book by Holly Renee and for sure it wasn’t my last. I really enjoyed reading Jase and Sophie’s story. It was entertaining with a great flow of the story, a perfect mix of humour, steam, friendship, family and character development. The characters are easy to connect with and the chemistry of Jase and Sophie was more than obvious. I loved the way how easy they fell back into old habits and their easy friendship before their fall out.

The only thing I wished Holly Renee would have dug a little deeper into was Jase’s relationship with Tucker and the “WHY” he was afraid in the past to loose Tucker as his best friend.

”He was my boss, he was my brother’s best friend, but I had never craved a touch so much until I felt his. It was insane, but sanity felt overrated.”

Double Shot is a gorgeous love story and a great way to spend a summer breath spring day enjoying your time with love blooming around you.

”He was surrounding me, his lips still devouring mine, and nothing about us was logical.”

“‘Tell me you aren’t trouble.’ ‘I’m not trouble.’ Her hip cocked to the side just slightly, and I smiled. Trouble never looked so goddamn fine.”

Trouble indeed! You know who’s really going to be in trouble? Everyone who DEVOURS this book the way it deserves like I did! The one thing I’ve missed about Holly’s work is the way she makes it flow so EFFORTLESSLY! In Double Shot, you can’t help but fall for this enemies to lovers second romance tale that is MORE THAN ONE for the books! If you haven’t read Holly’s work before, start here and I promise, you’ll be a forever fan of not only Double Shot, but of Holly Renee and all her future works to come!

Jase and Sophie were so PERFECT for each other! It’s that kind of chemistry that just grips you from the start and doesn’t let you go; much like these characters tried to ignore no matter how much it burned in their hearts for one another!

This book, it isn’t just compassionate, it’s thrilling. It isn’t slow burn, but an all consuming raging inferno. It isn’t just the characters and the world they love to live in much more when they have each other, it’s that plus everything you could possibly want in a read that consumes every facet of what romance is and always should be!

4.5 “Make it a Double” Stars

When I tell you the excitement is real, its because THE EXCITEMENT IS REAL. I’ve wanted Jase and Sophie’s book even before I was done reading Bottoms Up. As soon as Jase was introduced I NEEDED his story. He intrigued me and I needed more of his good-natured attitude. It was evident that there was “something” between him and Sophie and I desperately needed to know what that “something” was exactly. And I most definitely was not disappointed.

You know what one of my favorite tropes is? Brother’s best friend. You know what trope Double Shot is? Yep, you guessed it. This romance hit all the points. It had humor, undeniable chemistry, a punch of emotion, and hot-hot-hot sexy moments. It had me turning the pages at record speed, but also trying to take my time since I didn’t want the ending to come too soon. I was a giddy mess and couldn’t stop smiling.

You know what I couldn’t get enough of? Jase and Sophie’s flirty banter. It was oh-so irresistible as well as hilarious. What’s apparent is their underlying feelings. They’re trying their hardest to deny those feelings which makes the anticipation intense and also impossible to resist.

It’s no denying Jase and Sophie have a physical attraction, but there’s so much more than just that. The emotional aspect was just as intense as their physical one. The progression of their feelings was just the right pace and beautiful. These two left me wanting and needing more.

Double Shot left me swooning, smiling, fanning myself and just plain happy. It was a fast-paced and enjoyable read. I couldn’t get enough of these characters or this series. Another winner by Holly.

3 Cranky Stars

There are very few series and authors that can build up a series with each book better than the last. I was hoping that double shot was as thrilling, emotional, and relatable as the first book in this series. The first book blew me away and sucked me in so much that I felt everything the characters did. Sadly, this book disappointed me. It didn’t hold its own. Don’t get me wrong, I still enjoyed the authors writing and ability to story tell, but this one just didn’t draw me in and make me fall in love quite like the other book did. Honestly, I think the author should leave Bottoms Up as a stand alone and leave all the other characters alone. It was amazing just as it was. Double Shot will get lost in the shadow of the first book in the series because it doesn’t compare in the least bit.

Sophie, Tucker’s sister from the first book, was hardly mentioned. We weren’t able to really get to know her or fall in love with her in the first book so I was confused why she even got her own book. She was a blip in the series world until suddenly she was the leading role. She has a lot of issues that I don’t really get where it stems from. She’s emotional and a brat really. She’s spoiled and throws a fit when she’s not getting her way. She’s verging on bipolar. There a lot of confusing time lapse and plot errors that the author didn’t pay enough attention to, which makes the setting and use of these characters random and confusing.

Jase is portrayed, poorly I might add, as a ladies man, and yet he doesn’t have ladies at his beck and call? It’s unrealistic, honestly. For me, it was just the authors attempt at creating an alpha male that is drop dead sexy to play out some sexual fantasy and that’s it. I wasn’t impressed with him in his own booked like I had hoped to be when he made his appearance in Bottoms Up.

I was disappointed with the way the story played out and the lack of development with the characters. I had hoped there would be a deeper connection that was highly relatable to the real world like the first book. There was no morals or values inserted into the storyline, there was no emotional struggle or conflict that people deal with in the real world. It was nothing but a sexual fantasy turned into word pornography. It definitely is a book that bored me and lost my interest as another one of the authors looking to be the next fifty shades commodity. The lack of plot and meaning to the whole story was depressing and honestly I skipped a lot. You can only read a sex scene so many times before it gets boring and it takes away from emotion and connection behind the actions. Without a reason for the action, without a purpose for the characters to be doing it, then it’s nothing but porn and I’d rather go watch it on the Internet than read it with the lack of descriptive details. I’m reading books to relate to the characters, to live their life in another alternate universe and get away from the troubles of the real world, not find some boring porn collection from someone who has an obsession with office sex.

Sadly, I was disappointed in the direction this went. The first book held up better than this one. I give this book 3 cranky stars. The cover, like the first, doesn’t impress me either. It’s cliche like all the rest of the authors turned porn experts so will fit right in the crowd of authors that aren’t unique with their writing or imagination, lost in a sea of sameness without ever being noticed as a front runner. It’s a shame too, I had higher expectations after reading the first book.

Let me start with saying that Holly is a new writer to me and I'm so glad I got to know her trough this book .
All this year I was so deep into dark romance and this book was the perfect getaway , this book was the lightest , the most fun read I had a year . Holly seriously wrote the perfect squealing , heartwarming book , It got second romance , office romance , Best friend sister which means every fun trope , I liked the charachters so much , Jase wasn't the manwhore who are boring us or the sweet sweet guy he was just the right one , Sophie too wasn't much of a badass or the girl who need saving , she was the charachter that we can all relate too and that one was a highlight for the book because it makes realistic , and like I said the story was fun , light , hot and heartwarming .

This book is being released on March 20th and if you are into second chance and office romance seriously don't miss this one ❤️ .

How do you screw up your life in three steps? Easy.

Step one: Graduate from college with no prospective jobs lined up.

Step two: Move back home with your parents because no job unfortunately equals no money.

Step 3: Forget to social media stalk the guy who broke your heart before accepting a job in a town with a smaller population than a frat party on a Wednesday night.

I should quit but living with my parents forever doesn't seem like a solid life plan.

Jase Hale is the golden boy. Our boss thinks he's beyond talented. The receptionist sends him more flirty smiles and baked goods than is considered normal for a woman old enough to be his mom.

I try to avoid him and his undeniable charm at all costs.

He does everything he can to get under my skin.

Every encounter leaves me reeling.

Every smirk makes my stomach flip.

I assume he's playing with me, just pushing my buttons like always, but when he lifts me onto my desk and shuts me up with his lips on mine, I'm more confused than ever.

It doesn't matter that he's trying to prove me wrong. Having my heart broken by the same jerk twice in one lifetime isn't an option.

He already blew his shot, and I have no intention of getting in Trouble with the Hotshot Boss

It didn’t matter though. I would let him take a tour of my panty drawer if it meant I could get him away from my crazy mom.

I was going to tell him that, but his eyes were firmly planted on my ass. I snapped my fingers. “Up here, Mr. Hale.”

Hating Jase Hale was far easier than liking him

Jase in his work clothes was hot. This Jase, this was my every teenage fantasy come to life.

Fuck you, Jase.” She spit the words at me. “Ah, darling. You already have.”

✨Review Double Shot (The Rock Bottom Series, #2) by Holly Renee✨

“𝙃𝙚 𝙬𝙖𝙨 𝙡𝙞𝙠𝙚 𝙖 𝙙𝙧𝙪𝙜. 𝘼𝙙𝙙𝙞𝙘𝙩𝙞𝙫𝙚, 𝙙𝙖𝙣𝙜𝙚𝙧𝙤𝙪𝙨, 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙙𝙚𝙨𝙩𝙧𝙪𝙘𝙩𝙞𝙫𝙚. 𝙄 𝙘𝙤𝙪𝙡𝙙 𝙩𝙖𝙨𝙩𝙚 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙩𝙝𝙧𝙞𝙡𝙡 𝙤𝙛 𝙝𝙞𝙢 𝙤𝙣 𝙢𝙮 𝙩𝙤𝙣𝙜𝙪𝙚, 𝙗𝙪𝙩 𝙄 𝙠𝙣𝙚𝙬 𝙞𝙩 𝙬𝙤𝙪𝙡𝙙𝙣’𝙩 𝙡𝙖𝙨𝙩.”

I was completely hooked from the second I opened Double Shot.. this is a beautiful story and I cannot recommend it enough. This is a brothers best friend, now boss, and second chance romance all wrapped up in a delicious, heartwarming 248 paged book of pure greatness. Holly can write absolutely anything and I am completely sold.

After Sophie graduated college she unfortunately hasn’t been able to find a job in her field. This struggle brings Sophie back home to live with her parents because no job equals no money. Now living back home with no prospects Sophie accepts the help of her brother who talks to his best friend Jase about getting her a job at his company. This would be great if it wasn’t Jase whom he was asking. The one man who completely shattered her heart. One forbidden kiss back when they were kids ruined everything. Now they hate eachother. But what’s Sophie to do when no other company’s have called her back? She takes the opportunity even if that means having to see the one man she’s sworn off for eternity no matter how delicious he is and now her boss. “𝙃𝙚 𝙬𝙖𝙨 𝙢𝙮 𝙗𝙤𝙨𝙨, 𝙝𝙚 𝙬𝙖𝙨 𝙢𝙮 𝙗𝙧𝙤𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙧’𝙨 𝙗𝙚𝙨𝙩 𝙛𝙧𝙞𝙚𝙣𝙙, 𝙗𝙪𝙩 𝙄 𝙝𝙖𝙙 𝙣𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙧 𝙘𝙧𝙖𝙫𝙚𝙙 𝙖 𝙩𝙤𝙪𝙘𝙝 𝙨𝙤 𝙢𝙪𝙘𝙝 𝙪𝙣𝙩𝙞𝙡 𝙄 𝙛𝙚𝙡𝙩 𝙝𝙞𝙨.”

Jase was so unbelievably sexy. I am obsessed with him and his smirks and his playfulness towards Sophie. He’s always had a little bit of a crush on her but one night and forbidden kiss which her brother almost saw scared Jase away forever, until little Sophie needs a job. Now being in close quarters with a sexy as hell grown up Sophie this can either end one way.. disaster or passion that neither of them will be able to give up. “𝙄 𝙬𝙖𝙣𝙩𝙚𝙙 𝙩𝙤 𝙠𝙞𝙨𝙨 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙨𝙝𝙞𝙩 𝙤𝙪𝙩 𝙤𝙛 𝙝𝙚𝙧 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙩𝙝𝙧𝙤𝙩𝙩𝙡𝙚 𝙝𝙚𝙧 𝙖𝙩 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙚𝙭𝙖𝙘𝙩 𝙨𝙖𝙢𝙚 𝙩𝙞𝙢𝙚”

Oh swoon my heart!!! Double Shot by Holly Renee is a 5 star read that I totally see myself reading again and again! She writes the best characters that are so easy to fall for and want to know in real life! This low angst, high feels read hits all the right marks with a contemporary read! Pack with feisty humor, emotions and chemistry, I couldn’t turn the pages fast enough!

Sophie and Jace are so easy to love that you never want to see them go. Sophie is full of fire and Jace is just a good all around guy’s guy. Their history is long (Jace is Sophie’s bother’s best friend) and the journey to their future is de-li-ocious!!! I mean, ma’am - well done!!!

The way Holly develops not only her characters but the world they reside in is addictive and A+ that you want to live in it also! Each read is like coming home meeting new friends and catching up with old ones. And her words and how she always makes me feel. I’m all in with all the highs, lows, steam and heartache. That I’m my opinion is the sign of a great book and writer.

If you haven’t figured it by now I’m telling you that you can’t miss this read! It’s just as amazing as all of her other ones and will not disappoint!

This was one of my favorite romance themes "Brother's best-friend/We shouldn't be together", so I knew I would like it. This story, like Holly's others, was easy to get involved in quickly. The story was great, characters were fun too. Jase and Sophie had an attraction back in high school, but Jase is best friends with Sophie's brother. They are both afraid of how her brother would feel about them as a couple. Once several years have passed and Sophie ends up working for Jase, the sparks fly between them again. Even with all the heat between them, It does not take long to see that they have something very real. All in all, this was a quick and entertaining read.

I was given an advance readers copy of this book and have decided to write a voluntary honest review. I absolutely love this series, I love all the guys so far. Jase and, Sophie you could always tell a brothers best friend will be trouble. It's on off limit type of relationship, but sometimes if the feelings are real you should go for it.

Salve lettori!

Double Shot is one of those books that you know you would enjoy but somewhere along the way you realize that this is not the one you are going to enjoy as much as you hoped.
I like Jase and Sophie and I did like their story but I, however, didn't necessarily love it.

The story was fun and had all the markers for a quick and easy read with minimal angst, which my angst-loving self enjoys. The banter was fun, I loved Sophie's humour and I loved her relationship with her family.

I think my main issue was development. I needed more from Jase and Sophie — a deeper connection to be formed. It felt like instead of meaningful moments, that showed the progression from enemies to lovers, was lacking and rather filled with sex. The chemistry was spot on, don't get me wrong, but I'm at that stage in my reading where I want deep meaningful conversations rather than just sex one page after the other.

As I've already said, the story is good, but that pesky "more" was lacking, otherwise, this book had the full potential to be a 4 star read.

Anyway, this is my first Holly Renee book. There are more books under her belt and I won't be hesitating to pick one up.

3 Stars!

Holly has became one of my top favorite authors of all time, her writing just drags you in. TWTHSB is no different with her writing, I finished the book in a day.

Do you love brothers best friends romance with second chances? If so this one is for you, its all that plus so much emotions. Jase and Sophie just did something for me. They have a rocky start but it turns into something amazing.

TWTHSB is the 2nd book in the Rock Bottom series but can totally be read as a standalone.

This book was good!! I had fun reading it. It’s one of those no nonsense, straight to the point books. I’m just getting so tired of reading books that are so long for no reason that I definitely appreciate it when an author gets their story across in 300 pages or less.

I do have a few quips tho (as usual). I will never understand the hype when it comes to the brother’s best friend trope lol. I don’t get it like he’s just your brother’s best friend, what’s the big deal? I get the whole protective thing going on but even then it just weirds me out once they’re out of high school and are full grown adults. Not that Jase and Sophie’s relationship was hidden bc of that reason but it did play a big part of it. Maybe it’s just me but if you’re truly friends with this person, you should deem them decent enough to be with your sibling.

The third act breakup also ruined the entire book for me. I was happily cruising along then you get to the part where Jase tells her “maybe you should just look for another boss to fuck.” That was such a cheap shot and I personally would’ve backhanded him for that. He also should’ve grovelled a lot more, since by now you could probably tell he didn’t do enough.

Not a first read or review by this awesome Author! I was only slightly skeptical because I have a "thing" with younger Hero & Heroine's BUT but but, not saying that at times I run into a book that contains them and I loved it. THIS IS ONE OF THOSE BOOKS!! This 'Brother's Best Friend / Forbidden Story was absolutely addictive, funny, passionate and beautiful. One of the great parts about this Author is her writing, I don't know if you notice or not but if there is no smooth transitions or words, i get turned off. Holly did fantastic with just words in this book!

Jase and Sophies story was...magical. I say that because at times reading it, i didn't realize I was NOT in the book. It felt so real to me that it was magic!! These two characters were made for each other, when Sophie lands her first job, didn't think that her secret (not so secret) boss would be none other than Jase Hale. When Jase sets her as off limits, she is rather heartbroken. But what she doesn't know is that Jase can't hold it together anymore, will he make the shot...?

I am rating this a 5 & highly recommended to read!

A Double Shot is what I need of this book! Jase and Sophie I love them!

Double Shot was a quick, easy read, that had drama, angst, and hotness to keep me going. Jase is Sophie’s brother’s best friend, he loves her, she loves him but he hurt her when she was younger and she doesn’t want to give him another chance. Trucker is the only family Jase has and he didn’t want to ruin it by dating Sophie.

“He only gets one shot with me and it sure as hell wasn’t a double.”

Sophie gets a job working at the same place Jase does, and Jase just happens to be her new boss. The attraction, and chemistry they have for each other is undeniable even for them.

What happens when Sophie gives him another chance and he makes her in front of everyone? Will she go back for that third shot or call it a night?

Holly made me laugh out loud, made me want to smack both Jase and Sophia, but left me feeling satisfied with what I just read.

Every book I read by Holly is better than the last, and I should say I have loved every single one!!!

Double Shot was such a fantastic story and I absolutely loved it. I loved all of the characters in this story but of course, Sophie and Jase were my favorites. They had that undeniable chemistry and attraction from the very beginning and I knew their story would be one that would not disappoint. I absolutely enjoyed their back and forth banter and their Missy Elliot singing moments. There were sweet, steamy and funny moments throughout this story but there was also a bit of drama. Sophie's mom was a trip and she is just one of the characters that had me laughing out loud. I devoured this book in one sitting and I'm so excited to read more books from this author. I will be recommending this book to family and friends looking for a fantastic brother's best friend and office romance story. This story is one that is definitely worth reading.

Double Shot by Holly Renee is book two in her Rock Bottom Series. Every book in the series is about another coupls, without cliffhanger, a standalone.
The previous book, Bottoms Up tells Tucker and Kennedy's story and I loved Rock Bopttom, simply as that.
Double Shot tells Sophie and Jase's compluicated story.
Sophie Moore is a young woman with her first job. And her new boss is her secrte, or not so secret cush Jase Hale. Jase is her brother's best friend and he believes she's off limits. Only he's drawn to her, he can't help himself. You can literally feel the attraction between the hero and the heroine. He falls for her hook, line and sinker. And older brother Tucker has no chance to interfere. I liked Sophie and Jase's story and the excellent writing and give 4,5 stars.

One of my favorite tropes is best friend’s little sister. It’s hot and sometimes forbidden which makes it so much better! Holly pulled out all the stops for this one, not only do we get best friend’s little sister, but also office romance! HELLO, SIGN ME UP!

As always with a Renee novel I devoured it. Her books have a way of sucking me in and I can’t stop till I reach the end. I was looking forward to this book from the minute their interaction happened in Bottoms Up (5 star read BTW).

Jace and Sophie were the perfect match. I loved everything about them together my heart couldn’t take it. Not only did they have some obstacles to overcome, from their past, but together they just fit so well. He pushed her when she needed it. She made him think and be serious when he needed it. I love their office romance, because even when they were both trying to keep it light and fun, they were slowly falling in love.

All in all, I LOVED the book. Holly Renee can do no wrong, she’s hit the mark every time for me. I can’t wait to see what’s to come!!!!! (hint hint…BROOKE ;) )

After reading Bottoms Up I couldn’t wait for Jase and Sophie’s book and it definitely didn’t disappoint.

Sophie and Jase have a history. As Sophie’s brother Tucker’s best friend, they’ve obviously grown up around each other but one night changed all that and they’ve spent the following years trying to hate each other. Thrown back together when Sophie goes for a job at Jases company, the sexual chemistry between these two just gets hotter and hotter the more time they spend together.

Both main characters are easy to like and it’s easy to see these two are perfect for each other. They have a genuine connection, the banter between them is fantastic, flirty and funny, and I loved every single word of their story. Another great book from Holly Renee.

“Falling for Jase would be like slipping into a lovely kind of déjà vu. He was like a drug. Addictive, dangerous, and destructive.”

“That one simple look, that taste of her wildness, I felt intoxicated on the wild crushing beauty that she seemed to hide behind her precious defenses.”

Okay Jase and Sophie had me on my knees 🥵🙌🏻 This series is wreaking me in the best way. I just loved this story so much, how fierce Sophie is and how Jase doesn’t take shit has seriously been my favorite dynamic couple in this series so far. I’ll just say this, I’m curious how thick those office walls were 😮‍💨🔥

Moving back to live with her parents is something Sophie thought would happen after college, but with no job prospects she has no choice. When she accepts a job working for Jase, her brother's best friend, things get even more complicated. When the high school feelings she had for him resurface will they fat e what's between them or continue to deny them? Jase and Sophie are perfect together. I love how they're chemistry is explosive. I can't wait to read more from this author!
