"I haven’t always been a writer. My parents are writers and my brother is a writer, and I resisted that as long as I could. When I was 17, I hopped in a band’s van and I went on tour for a summer, and that was it, that was what I wanted to do. I ran a record label for 10 years, a small indie punk label. I did everything in music that you can do that doesn’t involve having musical ability. Eventually the music business, probably in a similar way to comics, will just start to break your heart, and I realized one day that I kind of hated music. I was resigned to thinking, if I’m going to be involved in music forever, I’m going to hate it for the rest of my life. I just stopped. I stopped having any sort of business with music, any involvement.

I read comics my whole life, so I just naturally fell back into another medium that is marginalized and hard to make a living in."

Both Baron Zemo and the Punisher return to New York for a final showdown. Some of this got to be just ridiculous and Frank is a real dick to his "friends", if it can be said he's ever had any since Microchip. For some reason the Kingpin just lets Baron Zemo do whatever he wants, even after Secret Empire. It doesn't make the most sense. Kudranski's art continues to frustrate me. He loves to draw action scenes. However, he's terrible at drawing coherent ones. It's like random snippets thrown onto the page.

This was a fun read as we have the Punisher making his way to NYC and he takes down some criminals hiding as civilians, meetup with Widow and then going after Zemo and his Thunderbolts and its a fun clal back and battle and Frank assisted by some other heroes/anti-heroes and he takes the war to his enemy: Zemo and yep its ends in a weird way and idk it felt incomplete like no big fight or end with the Zemo arc and a vague ending but nonetheless still enjoyable and it makes for a decent one-time read and an end to what has been otherwise a mediocre run.

This run ends decent enough.

Punisher hunts Zemo in america now, where he is taking sencutary with Kingpin. Punisher is the one guy who doesn't give a shit who is protecting who, he will come for you. The man goes full on ahead but this time he has a team (Somewhat) with Moon knight, black widow, and night trasher joining him. Together they go for one final hunt, but will he get the kill? That's the question.

Overall this is fun enough ending. It's not great, and the art is really hard to keep up with action scenes. I love Zemo, he's such a piece of shit here. And kingpin brings some great lines. But overall nothing amazing. A 3 out of 5.

Thoughts:
It was interesting idea to have a small group of cops who had Frank as their hero.Even though it was a small part of this story it could be a future direction for a story.

Thunderbolts? OMG! We dont need another version unless its a radical redo.Prime time Suicide Squad they are not.

This volume was the reason I was reading this run in the first place lmao. Look at my boy Moon Knight and Black Widow on the cover. 😩

They were the best part of this volume and entire run and they didn't even get to do much!! The panel where Punisher asks Moon Knight how is his imaginary god and Moon Knight asks how is his dead family?? Sent me into orbit. Loved loved this team. Black Widow, Moon Knight, Ghost Rider?? And also *checks notes* random guy with a skateboard and female Punisher? Great team and I wish we could have seen more of them, in action and in conversation because they slayed. So funny my favorite part of this run was seeing other characters but I fully accept now that I think the Punisher sucks. 💀 Killing people is really not a personality trait.

The big final battle was just not satisfying at all. I want to say especially after everything Frank went through in this but nothing much happened the entire time. Me reading this entire run was kind of a waste of time but you live and you learn.

Rosenberg's run started brilliantly, scaling up Frank's power level so he could operate on a larger scale, but here at its end, it's hard not to feel that was a trap. The idea of this arc's open war on the streets of New York doesn't feel plausible either on Marvel's Earth or ours, and too much of it is taken up with pointless bickering among the bad guys when, as alignments from the Axis to evangelicals for Trump show us, villains are generally the ones who are best at putting ideological differences aside for the sake of the win. Still, it's fun to see everyone from Moon Knight and Danny Ketch to Rachel Alves and Night Thrasher pop up, and Castle's encounter with the cops who use his badge is a treat.

Typical Marvel. Cant quite figure out where to go with a series? Time to shove as many other supes into it as possible. Disappointing as this was a solid version of The Punisher.

Wow. I am not the biggest fan of the Punisher, but Matthew Rosenburg's writing is sharp and surprisingly funny. I think this is how the punisher works best. When it's not so grim, it makes it a much better story. This still had all the murder you expect from Frank Castle but with some surprising guest stars that I really

Better than the last volume, but still falls short of the inspiration Rosenberg had with Punisher: War Machine. And the art varies from decent to pretty sketchy. Still, I guess it's fairly amazing to hold onto one artist for this long these days.

Lástima el abrupto final de Rosenberg en The Punisher, afectó sobre todo en el arte de los últimos números donde hay una notoria baja en la calidad.

Frank first waged his was against Hydra back in NYC, but it ended with him being handed over to Zemo. The latter locked the Punisher up on Bagalia. However, it did not take long for Frank to escape and destroy Bagalia in his aim to kill criminals and get rid of Zemo. The leader of Bagalia did not stay to grant Frank his wish, and he escaped back to NYC, where he made a deal with the mayor, Wilson Fisk, to eliminate the Punisher once and for all. With his soldiers disguised as UN peacekeeping forces and a team of supercriminals, Zemo hopes to kill Frank. The Punisher will go street by street and block by block to reach his target.

Another action and violence packed volume for the one and only Punisher. While it is what one would expect for this character, I could not help but feel that, really, there was too much senseless action to fill the pages, but not much to provide a meaningful story. Hydra's men get slaughtered, and somehow, they always believe they will eventually kill the Punisher despite all their predecessors having failed. It tends to be repetitive in that regard, and their ridiculous outfit (did I mention this in my reviews of volumes 1 and 2?) does not help. Finally, the writers decided to involve superheroes in the story once again, which is not what I personally think is the best for Punisher stories. However, this gave Frank the opportunity to make the following statement, which I endorse fully: "Those clowns may work great together in their little outfits. But I work alone. I'll catch you all next time the circus is in town...". I am so glad Frank and I are in agreement on this.

Overall, the story feels too stretched out without purpose aside from aiming to show violence. It's hard to really get engaged as the Punisher tends to go through his enemies effortlessly except at the end. Zemo makes for a poor threat as he just keeps failing from beginning to end. There is not a moment we really feel he has the edge. Some touch of humor makes us smile, but that is the gest of it. I would not place this series in the best Punisher stories.

This volume concludes yet another Punisher series. This volume, and really the series overall, wasn't bad at all.

There are two basic types of Punisher stories. The more realistic stories set in the "real world", and the superhero crossover issues set in the Marvel Universe. Even though the realistic stories are usually better, I have always preferred The Punisher in the Marvel Universe just because that's how I always remember him and his early stories featuring Spiderman, Daredevil and Captain America were so cool.

This volume features more super hero action, including two of my other favorites in Ghost Rider and Moon Knight. Punisher's team battles Zemo and a new group of Thunderbolts and everything builds to a fairly logical conclusion. I can't see why Punisher fans wouldn't enjoy this arc, although I would like to see a lengthy Punisher series run longer rather than the stop and starts we've been getting for years.

A fun conclusion to Rosenberg’s uneven but mostly fun Punisher run. Frank is back in New York and still pissed at Zemo, who’s now in cahoots with Mayor Wilson Fisk. This is their final showdown. The war escalates with Hydra troops, Zemo’s “Thunderbolts” team, and a group of morally grey heroes backing Frank. Rosenberg’s dialogue, especially for Zemo, often had me chuckling. The interactions throughout are mostly on point, the highlight being Frank’s conversation with two cops who idolize him. I’m not invested enough in modern Marvel to care one way or the other about the ending but I thought it was fitting.

So yeah, this was pretty good. I think the beginning and end of Rosenberg’s run were the strongest parts. There’s repetition in the middle, and let’s be honest, most of the story is Frank and Zemo at war with each other (a ridiculously implausible war at that). But the dialogue and action were exciting enough to keep me reading.

An epic conclusion to Matthew Rosenberg’s Punisher, with some truly incredible dialogue work, as well as a few cheeky shots at Daniel Way’s Thunderbolts and the real life appropriation of the Punisher logo by law enforcement (which was why I originally came to the book to begin with). Everything feels so intentional and perfect to sum up what the Punisher is, turning Zemo (but remember to call him “Baron”) into an excellent Big Bad. There are some genuinely hilarious scenes in here as well as some great kinetic action and overall if you can get through the trudging through complicated outer lore at the start of this run, you’ll find some stellar content in both the second book and this one. It honestly feels like the book equivalent of John Wick 3

Punisher Vol. 3: Street by Street, Block by Block - 4.5 / 5 Stars

This was great! I got this book purely because moon knight was on the cover. But I had a great time with this read! My first punisher comic actually believe it or not. I think he is cool but I’ve never really delved deep into his character before.

Definitely made me want to read more punisher books! And I loved moon knight in this he was so sassy I enjoyed that. And also night thrasher was in this which was crazy cause I’ve never read a book with him in it before but he was my marvel main back when I played that! So it was cool to finally see him in action.

Onto the next book!

T0 me, it still feels weird when The Punisher brushes elbows with the all the rest of Marvel Universe, especially with the superhero side of it. But as in previous occasions, Rosenberg really makes it work. This was good action packed thing with nice dark art. Punisher was cold mad serial killer as he need to be but there are also some really fun dialogue.
Sad to see Rosenberg going away from The Punisher.

Again, four stars are probably generous, especially when your comic is making the Thunderbolts look like a joke. But, it's just a wild time getting to the end. I don't love the art for Frank himself but the action scenes are great. And any book that gives me a "oh, hell yeah" with Ghost Rider and Moon Knight is okay by me.

Plus, there's a scene where the Punisher calls out cops for using his skull logo which is gold.

I really enjoyed the 1st 2 volumes, but then it went completely downhill after this one. Went way overboard as Nemo & his Thunderbirds team up with Kingpin to take on Frank: Just was a bit way too cartoonish for my taste, in which Nemo is allowed to bring in an army to the streets of NY. There’s also this lame part of the story in which Frank dresses down some officers because they have a sticker of his logo on their car.

Like the rest of this run, intermittently glorious. The art's inconsistent, the plotting not much more than hey let's mow through these guys now, but it's impossible to get tired of Frank making it obvious again and again, through gritted teeth, what hypocrites Fury and co. are. Plus it's worth the price of admission for the scene where he (verbally) takes down the cops who idolise him.

This run finally comes to an end. With a strong start, an incredibly mediocre middle part and a finale that is decent at best, all in all it’s not too bad and definitely has its moments.

I really appreciate that this finale took it back to New York, the inclusion of The Kingpin is also a welcoming addition although he isn’t utilized that well and the interactions The Punisher had with his team was fun, but all-together this was just decent at best. Zemo is a boring villain with no characterization and the entire Bagalia storyline falls as flat as the actual outcome of the country itself. Another aspect people have been critical of which I have to agree with is how the action is displayed in this comic-run. It’s fun, it’s explosive and hyperactive, but oh my how unnecessarily difficult it can be to follow at times due to the comic panels seldomly having natural transitions which just makes it hard to follow, there are way too many jumps in the action which you are expected to fill in that just doesn’t work nor respect the reader. I also get that the authors seem to love explosions, but there are other ways of portraying The Punisher’s mayhem without a random explosion going off every-page-or-two.

However, I don’t wanna sound too critical as this run definitely has its moments. I actually really liked the first issue in this volume where Frank got to be a hunter in the jungle, The Punisher with Ghost Rider also make a great duo and Frank getting the Penance Stare was really good! But by far, my absolute favorite part of this run was when The Punisher was confronted by the police officers that sympathize with his methods, his response is one of the most crucial and important one’s ever made with this character!

All in all, it’s not bad and definitely has its memorable moments that stay true to the character. What makes this run fall flat is the storyline with Zemo that is so uninspired, characters that feel soulless and with a generic structure that only becomes more and more repetitive by the end with no actual pay-off, falling in line with many other generic marvel comics. With that being said, the few moments this run has when it’s flirting with greatness is enough to make it decent.
