I believe I'm still speechless after finishing the second book of "Here Lies" series!!!
OMG!!! This story was fucked up on every possible aspect, but hell, it is sooo addictive!!!
And don't let me start talking about the huge elephant in the room... Holy shit!!! The intimate scenes were so darn steamy that they were leaving me all hot and bothered!!!

We were having some new additions in here who might be allies and old ones who might not be allies after all!!! Everything is so messed up and in the middle of everything is standing Colton with her neon bright hair and fucked up attitude!!! And her endless strings of boys has no ending, I'm telling you!!!
Gawd, in a way i loved these boys, even though the situation is clearly exceptional!!!
To tell you that my moral compass wasn't spinning like crazy, i will blatantly lie, but told you.... The whole situation might be frustrating, but it was hot as hell!!!
What the hell is happening after all??? And what will come after everything that had happened in here???

In here, the author didn't focus mostly on Colton's POV as she did in the previous book and I loved that I managed to find out more about the boys. I even started liking Jordan, if you can believe me!!! LOL!!! And yes, Lux with Bridger are still holding a special place on my heart!!! It was very satisfying that i got to find out more for Lux, cause in here, he shined... Darkly!!!

ALL MY REVIEWS CAN BE FOUND ON MY BLOG: ABSTRACT BOOKS
When the first book of this series was released , I was so reluctant to read it! Not because it would be bad or anything , but because I was so scared of the Cliffhanger! And then I heard about the Praises this book got and I was like F it , I'll read this!! Cliffhanger be damned🤣🤣.
The first book was pretty epic but the second one… let me just warn you that you are about to board on the most crazy ride of your life! Almost throughout 80% of this book my mouth was agape and I was trying to make sense of what just happened. This book has like infinite surprises or maybe I should call them verbal punches since that is what they felt like and trust me they did hurt my brain a lot. So many twists and turns that this author managed to keep me hooked right till the very end and I didn't even realise when I reached the freaking end!!!!! I was turning pages like a dumb person only to find that there weren't anymore left. My kindle just about got saved from being thrown and cracking by the wall.
There were just so many characters in this book! I just have to say that I have read a lot of book and none of them had a harem as huge as this one lmao🤣🤣. All the men were perfect! Lux was my absolute favourite but the twins are the ones who hold my heart in their cold fists. The book even had lots of MM. But these steamy scenes aside , what I would really like to appreciate was the storyline of this series. The author successfully manages to give you brumbs of information and all the while keeping you in suspense!! I have read two book out of five of this whole series and I still have no clue how this story is gonna unfold. That is the best part of the mystery. And the author has done the perfect job of writing that!
This book was a turning point for me in this series. We met new characters who became allies and a lot of past ones became the enemies. The people are the most close to you can be the biggest snake of them all and that is the biggest lesson this book teaches you. Almost like 90% of my previous questions are unanswered , not to mention the tons of new questions I have. I am so excited and would give away anything to get my hands on this book!!! The ending was perfect and a true punch to the gut because yeah , it was another huge Cliffhanger!!! I can tell from just two books that this whole series is going to be phenomenal!
A definite recommendation to all the dark Romance lovers out there who love High school bully Romance books which have themes like Reverse Harem , secret societies and second chances!

Well, the plot thickens. And then it thickens some more, oh and then it thickens again. I’m not sure what is actually thicker- the plot complexities or the heady sexual tension- my mind has been sufficiently warped. Here Lies a Saint is a labyrinth of lies, deceit, complicated relationships and, well, kinky sex.
At the end of book one, while we had so many unanswered questions and that epic and tragic cliffhanger, we also had a modicum of victory- a sense that Colt had been reborn, emboldened and empowered by the formation of a new post-Cassidy identity. At its conclusion we see her finally a player in this twisting game, a game that we learned is so much more about the suspicious death of her beloved brother. Colt was starting to find some power- even if it felt like at every turn there was a new dark secret or depraved, toxic relationship there to thwart her. As book one begins, we find out that we were all wrong. This is still a story about the nexus of identity and power, heritage and freedom- but what little ground Colt gained is soon smashed. Not only do we discover that the emerald business is beyond the antics of the harem we love to hate (there is a deeper plot afoot, driven by the machinations of evil men who make our harem’s power plays seem downright basic) but we also continue to grapple with the fact that none of our characters are trust-worthy. A truth Colt is painfully reminded of over and over again. Along the way, protecting yourself and those you care about and trying to control your enemies has come to look disturbingly similar- who is protecting and who is plotting? Colt doesn’t really know, and neither do we.
If you thought the storyline in book one was complicated, you better take notes. Our characters continue to expand, secrets upon secrets are revealed and new mysteries added, and new motives are layered in. We have so many moving pieces that at times it does feel like we have unexplored or forgotten threads (to name them would be a spoiler), but we also have many books to go, and CL Matthews is very meticulously and painstakingly pacing revelations for maximum dramatic tension- and boy do we feel it. This story has a tone of frantic foreboding- and our characters get messy. Messy because they all have their one motives and roles to play, but also messy because CL continues to juxtapose the mystery with the very unique relational dynamics.
This is like a harem I’ve never read before. Not only is it innovative because it keeps evolving and because this is a harem full of enemies, and a harem that exists much to the chagrin of those even in it, but it is also innovate in that the relation dynamics are like a living organism- an pulsing amoeba that is constantly reshaping practically from page to page. Don’t try to keep track of who is into who and their romantic past- these characters aren’t made for boxes of static development. You gotta roll with it.
CL Matthews continues to also innovate her narrative approach- we get more POVs this story, spend some time in some other characters’ heads, so much so that at times Colt’s own mental journey feels secondary to the few characters CL highlights here (Hint: pay attention to the titles!)....and while it did mean we had more emotional through lines to wrap our brains around, it does something very important- it starts to give us more of an emotional anchor with some of the harem. Establishes their credibility and gives us some answers and depth. We start to trust and empathize...at least with some of them…..even if sometimes their feelings and actions confuse even themselves.
What a wild ride, and I can’t wait for more. Also, worth being said that CL gifts us with a VERY special moment that I’d hoped would eventually appear in one of these books- I won’t say more, other than it was nothing like what I expected but totally spellbinding. And, of course, we get SOOOO much steam.
Hoping Colt and her crew can start to unravel this perplexing knot of elite intrigue and depravity- but I have a feeling that knot is going to tangle further, and then CL is going to douse it in gasoline and set it on fire long before it starts to unravel...but either way, I’m here for the crazy ride.

Make sure to read Here Lies a Saint by C.L. Matthews only when you have complete privacy to scream, curse and blush. This story is a maze of lies, secrets, deception and passion. My head and heart are hurting from the constant twists and devious turns. And it was one of the steamiest RH books I have ever read.
So we are back to Arcadia Crest Academy. Colton Hudson is trying to untangle the truth behind her brother's death. But she is in too deep and she has no idea what tortures are waiting for her. The boys she craves and trusts and wants are not what they show.
I admit this story got me a bit confused. Like so many things were happening. It has a big character set and everyone has secrets and complex dynamics. More new characters got introduced in this book. The whole secret society and the bloodlines and the puppeteers. Colton is still the sassy and fierce girl but she is being pushed from all the side and I am scared that she will really break down. I don't know who to believe. Lennox. Bridger. Ten. Ross. Jordan. Justice. Pru. They all love Colt intensely but they are all keeping some secrets those can really hurt her. They have own monsters and pain.And they are all helpless in front of the corrupt, evil and ruthless force controlling them. They have wicked chemistry for sure. Holy hotness!! This is another level of dark, depraved and debauched. I have so many questions and conflicts and I cannot wait to see the plot getting revealed. Things are getting dangerous and right now it's a mess.

So we are back to Arcadia Crest Academy. Colton Hudson is trying to untangle the truth behind her brother's death. But she is in too deep and she has no idea what tortures are waiting for her. The boys she craves and trusts and wants are not what they show.
I admit this story got me a bit confused. Like so many things were happening. It has a big character set and everyone has secrets and complex dynamics. More new characters got introduced in this book. The whole secret society and the bloodlines and the puppeteers. ...I am speechless.
...I am breathless.
...I am shook up.
...I am....I dont even know anymore.
This book was written so effortlessly beautiful and haunting I am at a loss for words. (But words is what you need so here I go)
This book wrecked my soul, gave me anxiety ridden heartache, and made me want to divorce my husband.
If he cannot be at the level these guys are why am I even trying anymore? Pfft.
Right from the get go the book starts off strong and never stops. It held my attention for the ENTIRE duration. I never wanted it to end. I am actually mad about that. That it had to end.
This story was SO much better than the first. Which, if you know me at all you would know that is almost impossible. Because book 1, Here Lives a Corpse, was my favorite reverse harem ever AND in my top faves of all the books I read this year (and like, ever)
Without giving anything away, I just NEED to say this.
THESE GUYS STEPPED UP THE HEAT.
THESE GUYS HAD ME DROOLING ON EVERY PAGE.
THESE GUYS WENT HARD FOR THEIR WOMAN. (heehee..they were hard often too)
COLT IMPRESSED THE HELL OUT OF ME.
Man, I loved that girl. HER STRENGTH AND DETERMINATION WAS ADMIRABLE.
There were so many WOW moments that you dont want to miss! These characters were written so INCREDIBLY, I am having a hard time thinking I will find any other characters that outshine them. I highlighted so many passages, I think this is the most I ever have before. I wanted to steal & absorb every word into my soul.
The chemistry was intensely gratifying between multiple people. GOSH. Its hard to even discuss what I am trying to say into words because this book made me feel things I cannot explain.
This book was ONE HUNDRED AND ONE times more heartbreaking than the first one. My heart felt under attack on many occasions. I had to actually put the book down once. Just when one bridge was crossed, another one was thrown in their way. I was obliterated. Then that ending!!!! MY FREAKING HEART!!!!! ITS RUINED....UNTIL MARCH.
5 SAINTLY STARS. But that is a lie. Its actually 5 million, 500 thousand, 555 STARS.

I’ve literally just finished this book and let me tell you. MY HEAD HURTS
I have no idea what’s going on, a million theories that I’m sure are waaaaay off and I’m the most turned on I’ve ever
been because damn can CL Matthews write a sex scene!!
This isn’t your normal reverse harem romance. We have the heroine Colt who is in love with several of the guys, guys who are in love with several of the guys, MMM scenes, M/F/M scenes and a crap tonne of mystery, murder and suspense going on. Add in some twisted parentals, secret society, cult rituals going on and I’m rocking in a corner with so many questions and zero answers.

Honestly, at this point just let me live in this world forever
Where do I begin? I knew from the first book that this second one was going to somehow take a bigger toll on my heart and soul from the beginning. One of the first RH series that I’m actually really into. Each antihero unique, sinister and dangerous in their own way. I’m normally not into sharing but I understand Colt and her possessiveness over the whole lot of them.
I was provided with an unedited advanced copy which I devoured. However, I’m not gonna lie. I let this baby sit on my kindle for a good few weeks and waited til the absolute last minute to start it because I was petrified. Every cell in my body frozen with anticipation as to how this author was going to mess me up even more. After reading the advanced copy, I couldn’t write my review without purchasing the proper copy after release to see the edits and see if there were any more words. I needed everything to be laid out for me.
Continuing from the first book, HLAS focuses on well...the Saint. There is so much revealed, emotions are heightened and couplings are taken to the next level. And I say coupling lightly because this whole group took a turn that I wasn’t expecting when it came to each other. The thriller aspect of this book continues to rock me and has me coming back for more. Just when I think I know where it’s going, new information and/or characters are revealed and I’m back at square one again. At this point, I’m convinced I know absolutely nothing about nothing besides the fact that everyone is doing the dirty. This book is off the charts hot. It’s not for the faint hearted or the easily offended. It’ll drive you insane with need, drive you crazy with desire and leave you wanting more every single time.
I would also be lying if I said I didn’t have a favourite. Because I do. It’s my favourite sociopath Bridger and I can’t wait for his book. I enjoy all my boys but this psycho has my heart skipping beats whenever I see his name.
Such an amazing read, author and series and I can’t wait for the rest. There are actually no words to describe the effect this author has on me. Bravo!

I was provided an Arc for my honest opinion and honesty is what you shall get!!
Holy fucking Shit!! Mind blown 🤯 Here Lies A Saint was literally EPIC! Intense! Suspenseful! And oh boy the steam was next level 🥵🔥 The writing style was amazing and I definitely had a hard time putting it down l! By the end I was screaming and on the edge of my seat with some of the information that was revealed. If you don’t know by now I can not handle cliffhangers and I will obsess over everything that was left in limbo 😂
I really liked having the multiple point of views and being able to really understand and feel the guys true intentions. There are so many secrets between them all but you can still feel the strong bonds they have with each other even when they are at odds. Everything they do is to protect Colton even if in the process they push her away. I love this series and it’s fastly becoming my favorite RH story of all time! Also can I just mention how I love that real issues are talked about here and that she’s bringing awareness to them through her writing! Mental health is no joke and I can relate to Colton and some of the things she struggles with and even some of what the boys go through.
I can’t wait for the next book to be out and will try to patiently wait until it’s in my hand😂

I didn’t think a book could get any hotter than Here Lies a Corpse... but I. Was. Wrong. Holy crap. This book requires wine, a quiet room, and at least two extra pairs of panties. I’m telling you, THIS BOOK HAS ALL THE HEAT.
Saint picks up right where Corpse left off so it is important to read book one before diving into book two. I wasn’t sure what to expect out of this story, but it surely wasn’t THAT.

Matthews has this unique sense of writing that makes you fall deep into your feelings. It’s raw and open. You can feel her passion that she puts into each page. I love nothing more than when I can EMOTIONALLY feel the blood, sweat, and tears an author puts into their writing. It makes me connect in a way that is very rare.

WTH.....this book has left me utterly speechless! It has taken me days to wrap my head around this book and I still feel that no matter what I write I won't do this book justice.

If you thought that "Here Lives A Corpse" was an utter mindfuck of epic proportions you haven't read anything yet! Here Lies A Saint once again leaves us with more questions than answers, more secrets and lies than truths, more players in a game with no winner in sight.....at least not yet!
C.L. Matthews has masterfully crafted a story that will have you questioning everything while dropping mind-blowing twists and turns that leave you gasping for breathe. A breathe you didn't realize you were holding while on the edge of your seat from the emotions, suspense, anticipation and epic steamy scenes that will have you wondering how the hell your tablet isn't in flames!

Firstly, this is book 2 in the Here Lies series that Matthews is currently working on. You must read Book 1, Here Lives a Corpse, to understand where things are at when this book starts.
We learned so many things in Book 1, but there are lots of questions that still need answering. Let’s start with the fact that this series includes elements of high school students, secret societies, founding families, cult-like behaviors, reverse harems and just about any layer of depression you can imagine. I throw all that out there at you because this is not a series for everyone. There are intense elements in this story that can cause triggering for those that cannot read those kinds of things.
So now that we’ve laid that foundation, let’s talk about what a mess everything has gotten. I can’t get into too much detail because well, spoilers, but our main characters have really begun to make a dent in revealing some of the bigger elements that are happening behind the scenes and it’s a dirty, messed up world that we hadn’t realized in Book 1.
In Book 1 we meet Colt, our main female and leader of the reverse harem. Her brother has recently died and she’s working as hard as she can to survive the depression that has over run her and the belief she has that everyone close to her knows something about her brothers death that she doesn’t. After investigating and getting close to some answers, a tragedy at the end of Book 1 propels her in a different direction.
Now she’s in the clutches of The Vestige. This is the group of founding families that run the town they live in and they’re ready to train Colt to be the woman she was meant to be. Regardless of her own wishes.
So many things happen in this story that will your heart breaking, you’ll be questioning everyone’s motives and some real big questions start to come into play. What’s in Colt’s past that we don’t know… Like I said, there are some BIG things happening and foundations being laid. It appears that her harem of boys are all there to help her, but there may also be infiltrators in her close network as well.
All I can really summarize this with is that you have to read it to understand it. The first book broke me down and tore me apart, but I felt like this one started to answer enough of the underlying questions that I wasn’t as destroyed by it. I’m hooked, no doubt about it, but I felt like I got something in exchange for my emotional investment. Not only do you get more information on the underlying plot, but you really get to dig in and understand some more of the characters that you may not have connected with in the first book.
This series has started off with two amazing books and I cannot wait for the rest of them to come out through the course of 2021. If this sounds like something you’d enjoy, get your hands on Book 1 and Book 2 NOW!

So even after sitting on this for a few days, my mind is still all over the place. Every time I think about this book, I have a new theory of how the rest of the series is going to go, and I cannot WAIT to see if I'm correct in all my thoughts!!
There's not much I can really say about this book, because I literally want to tell you guys everything, but I can't.😭😭😭 just know that Colt is a fucking warrior, and I can't wait to see how she dismantles this twisted world she is caught up in. I loved seeing her become even stronger than before, and even though every single person is lying to her in some form, the connections between her and the guys (and between the guys and themselves) is out of this world! I haven't read many RH romances, but this RH is nothing like I ever expected: they all love Colt, of course, but they all have their own messy relationship with each other too. It's a layer of hate and love I've never seen before that has me begging for more!!
The plot is intense. That's the only way i can describe it. If you thought all the lies and secrets were mind-boggling in the first book, you have a whole other thing coming with this one! There's so much that Colt doesn't know, so much that the individual men don't know about the others, and then there's a dark horse (who honestly surprised me a bit since I didn't care for him at all in the first book) that I think loves Colt the most, who is determined to protect her at all costs.. even if it means destroying the entire world and himself in the process.
And while there are so many secrets (ya might want to keep notes while you read, because seriously, Cassie's mind is wickedly genius!) There's also a lot that was revealed. And that ending?! AHHH, I can't wait to hear all your theories!!!
Obviously I'm loving this series so much, and I can't wait for the next book!! I'm going to be counting down the days until it's on my kindle!

After book 1, I HAD to read the second book. This book answered some questions and left with me more questions and more theories!
This one ends on a cliff hanger of massive proportions. But it ends in such a great spot for the next book to pick up.
There's so many questions about each character and who is honest. So many mysteries and secrets that still need to be unraveled. And the mix of who wants who and who's been with who continues to get messier.
They all pretend to hate Colt but also blatantly want her. There is so much more steam in this book than book 1 and I wasn't mad about it. There's more than just steam involving Colt too.
With another death and more questions also comes more revelations regarding these founding families and the secret society. There's different families including some who have been erased or are hidden. Some things regarding the parents and the rituals are revealed.
Also, more of Cassidy and his life and mission is revealed. I still don't know who can be fully trusted or how this will end. I'm stoked for book 3 and waiting impatiently!

After reading Here Lives a Corpse I couldn't wait for Here Lies A Saint. This is the 2nd book in the 5 book Here Lies series and it's filled with secrets, lies, deception, kinky s&x and lots of twists and turns. You will be consumed with this story and its characters, and will be at the edge of your seat frantically turning the pages. This is a reverse harem with quite a number of members but there were also MM scenes included. The author gave us so much info yet still managed to keep us in suspense and while reading so many new questions arose.
This novel was well written and layered and will have you questioning everything, the characters were flawed and complex with real life issues that will break your heart and it all ends in a major cliff hanger that left me speechless. I couldn't put this down and I now can't wait for more. This was an excellent continuation to the series. If you love secret societies, slightly dark bully romance with lots of steam then I would highly recommend this novel.

I've lost track of who has been with who 😂 ANYWAY, the storyline really unfolded in this book! I enjoyed it alot more than the first. After Here Lives a Corpse, I was dying to get my hands on this one and OH MY STARS! Matthews does not disappoint as we are thrown right back into this crazy world that she has created. Half the time I was speechless, the other half, my jaw was dropping. I was blown away at the fluidity between these two books and how it all flowed into this one. The twisted nature, the unbelievable storyline and so much more will keep you on your toes from start to finish and have you begging for more. More is revealed in this one. I am not a huge M/M or even a reverse harem person but with how Matthews writes it, you will be completely immersed into this insanity! I couldn’t put it down. I was blown away by every moment. Essentially you are just getting my feels for this as anything else, I would call it a spoiler because it just needs to be read and speak for itself. It is just that good. Bring on more because I NEEEEEEED IT!!!

A beautifully written story about beautiful broken people that pulled out all my emotions.
This group keeps getting hit after hit. But somehow find the strength in themselves and in each other to keep standing.
I hope they keep fighting. I hope they decipher the truths from the lies. I hope they trust. I hope they love. And oh I hope they keep the steam going because WOW, some of those scenes were too hot to handle! 🔥 🥵😋

I'm struggling to leave a review good enough without spoilers because damn this book is fire.
Colton and her guys bring us all the goodies as usual. The mysterious element, mixed with the steam and the jaw dropping scenes...just made this book. The plot is one that has your 100% focus and it is needed because trust me it gets complex. Nothing is easy for poor Colt. Jordan definitely climbs the league table in the harem and surprisingly, we see a little more depth to past relationships and a few new sparks and fireworks taking place.
C.L Matthews has a way of writing that insists you do not put the book down until you have finished the final word. It's exciting. It's addicting. It's downright brilliant.

I am shooketh y'all. Where to begin?! First off, Colt is still one of my favorite characters. I'm her ride-or-die, and I find myself so damn invested in her outcome. What have they done to this poor girl, and who do I have to kill first?
The story continues right where book 1 left off. The secret society vibes I got from book 1 are rolling full steam ahead. Powerful, greedy AF people just loves to play with these characters like they're chess pieces, tweaking the game here and there, endlessly searching for the ultimate win.
What I didn't expect were all the twists and turns that this author threw into the storyline. Colt is a polyamorous kinda gal. It's easy for her to find interest in multiple partners. How the author used that in this book, along with the intense storyline plotting was brilliant. Who do we love most for our girl? Who do we trust? I thought I loooooved the twins, but man, this book had me questioning everything.
This book has MM, MF, MMF, and probably a few more, but you get the idea. There's a lot of loving, a lot of lusting, and a whole lot jaw-dropping, panty-melting what-the-heck-did-I-just-read goodness.

Here Lies A Saint, is a book that is filled with LIES, TRAITORS and SECRETS. So many key elements take place in this book that set the tone and vibe for not only the way this book is gonna go but throughout.
This is a harem unlike no other and it’s one that has made its way up to number one on my list. Not only has she amped up the number that we usually see in a RH but these characters have history and a connection that you see from the beginning to present. There is no denying the chemistry and the sexual tension that comes bleeding through these pages.
No one is safe, you cannot trust anybody and truth be told. You better have eyes at the back of you’re head.
From the moment I started this book, I knew bad things were gonna go down in this book. The plot most definitely thickened in this book and I was living for it, as much as I loved the first one. The second one stood out to me due to the story that was unfolding and how much it expanded into unknown territory. There is still soooo much that I know we have to learn and so far I have questions upon questions written down in notes.
This book amped up in the emotional side of things as we delved more into the other characters POVS. You actually feel a connection to every single character even though you can sense the secrets they are hiding. Secrets that if you look closely into their eyes, you can sense the darkness that’s deeply rooted behind them.
I think that’s what gravitated me to these characters, was the secrets that they are holding. That I just want to unravel and peel layer by layer to uncover what they are.
Each character holds such a vile piece to this story, that the only person who is left in the dark is Colt. Colt was an absolute fire cracker in this book, she’s the girl who is on the path of revenge but finds it hard to separate her love and hate to the boys she loves to hate. She knows they are hiding so much from her but yet she can’t stop that drawl she has to them.
There is so much to be said about this book that I could just go on and on. This book was completely off the charts and will quite literally drive you insane with how much you want to know everything.
The boys are to die for, i quite literally cannot pick a favourite for the life of me. They all have a piece that I look for in the guys that I read about. Not only do they give me that piece of them but they they all give Colt a piece that she so desperately needs, wants and craves. It would never ever be only one person, they are all her person, her soul mate, her lover, her one.
Now let’s say I need the next book like my next breath. I am so obsessed with the heroine, her mans and this story that I would quite literally sell a body part or my first born child for this book to be here

Here Lies a Saint is the second book in Here Lies series. We pick up from where we left last book, with Yang's demise. Colt is surrounded by snakes and cannot trust anyone. This second installment was even better than the first one. I liked how the story progressed, and learning more about the families was a huge plus. Colt's still a very good MC. I like her a lot, and in this book I got to relate to her on a more personal level. I also enjoyed her girl-pal Noah, and liked how she had Colt's back. The steaminess in this book also sky-rocketed, and I can't fathom anyone not being all hot and bothered by the sexy scenes present here.
The guys, oh boy. Their relationship not only with Colt, but also with each other, was one of the best things in the second book. Lux is still my favorite, not gonna lie. He won first spot by a long shot in my heart, but I was surprised on how much I enjoyed Jordan. In the previous book, he was just some shady dude-bro, but here we get to finally see the real Jordan. Particularly, his bonding with Lux was very entertaining to watch. The twins got me a little mad, but I sense some backstory missing in all of their strange behavior. Ten and Ross were clearly pushed to the side, but I kind of understood why. Their part in the schemes in book two was much smaller, but that will certainly change now that everyone is starting to put cards on the table. Bridger, his chapter got me excited to what's next for him. I knew the little shit had something major going on, and we get a glimpse of what that may be. There was also a new stranger who made himself known, and I'm quite frankly very curious about him.
My only concern about the book is that it could've used some really minor editing. There were a couple of times were the transition between POVs wasn't super clear, the names were not in bold letters like it usually is when the characters change. It didn't take the immersion away though, and I was still glued to every page.
Overall, still a great series if you enjoy some secret society mystery, and I look forward to read the next one. 5/5 stars.

At this point, I am really truly going to go crazy because of the books I read. Where do I begin? Seriously Here Lives a Corpse left me dead on the floor, holding my damaged heart. I told myself that I am ready for Here Lies a Saint. I hyped myself enthusiastically. I was readly take on the Here Lies series world. Hahaha. Here I am being an idiot and cursing because a book has ripped me apart. Like someone took a knife and chopped half of me. That sounds so morbid. Trust me, Here Lies a Saint stole every inch of my soul. I don’t know what to think. I don’t know how to feel. I don’t even have words to say. Here Lies a Saint just decimated me.

However I will forever be #TeamColt and #TeamJordan. I just love Jordan and nothing will deter my love for him. Each of the 7 men are all unique and you need to read the books to find out all their personalities and what makes them tick. Yes I am evil. LOL.

OMG! Another epic story!
I absolutely loved Here Lies a Corpse, and as soon as I reached that last page, I immediately one-clicked the next book in the series. That cliffhanger nearly did me in, and I was dying to find out what happens next to Colton and the boys. So, as soon as it showed up on my Kindle, I went right in without even taking a break.
Here Lies a Saint is the second book in the series, and it’s flawlessly written and completely spellbinding. There were so many twists throughout the book that I couldn’t turn the pages fast enough! I was compelled to figure out who was telling the truth, and the multiple POVs were extremely helpful. It helped decipher some of the character’s motives. However, as soon as I thought I figured something out, the author threw us another twist!
Here Lies a Saint is flipping fantabulous, and it’s so dang hot! It’s definitely one of my favorite series, and I’m dying to read the next book in the series!

Damn I love this series! C.L. Matthews draws you in with her unique characters and captivating plot lines. This book (as well as book 1) has so many lies, twists, and surprises that you don't see coming, you never know what's going to happen next! If you like steamy, suspenseful reverse harems, heroines with a fuck you attitude, and hot as sin guys with psychopathic tendencies this is the series for you!!!
HLaS gives us a look at Lux and Jordan's POVs. While we may have hated them - or loved to hate them - in the last book, we now have a better understanding of why they do the things they do. I loved getting a look inside their heads. I was definitely one of the readers that wanted to stab Jordan throughout Book 1 but I knew C.L. had something up her sleeve for him. His POV definitely changed my mind about him and left me feeling more connected to him. And Lux... oh Lux. There were parts with him that broke my heart. He is such a different person from the one he lets the world see. Both of these guys have hard exteriors but they are only meant to protect and hide their softer side.
We also still get Colt's POV and I definitely cried, raged, swooned, and felt joy with her. This girl has been through so much and is still so strong. She continues to be tested, hurt, and pushed throughout this book. But from what we have seen we know that this is only the tip of the iceberg and there is still so much more to come.
The RH sexy af guys: I am currently fighting with the twins right now and they will need to do some serious groveling if they want me to forgive them. Yes me, not Colt, because I'm so invested that I feel everything she does and they hurt my feelings! Bridger - Boy, I am watching you! I don't know what you have going on but it better be good. Ten and Ross - I just know you two going to break my heart. We get a deeper look at all of them, obviously some more than others, but I trust that we will fully know all of them by the end of the series.
In addition to all of the secrets and surprises that surround this group, there is also an insane amount of sexual chemistry, mixed with anger and tension. All of that calls for some down right dirty and hotter than hell scenes. Colt is one lucky girl and I definitely wish I could live her life while she gets to have some fun with these guys.
Book 3 cannot come soon enough! This series is definitely a must read and my favorite from 2020. I have no idea what C.L. Matthews is going to throw at us next but I am here for all of it!

I thought the first book in the series was really good. This one will blow your panties right the hell off and your mind will be in a tailspin.
I can't tell you how much actually happens in this book. It is ridiculous. There are so many characters, so many twists and turns. There were times I was like...what?!?!? I didn't read that right. Go back, read again, swear, say no way, message Katie, keep reading.
Then I had the insane thought that I would take a break from the series after this one. I felt like I needed to sit on it a bit and let all the shitstorm settle.
Well, that idea got sacked with the goddamn cliffhanger. It was so good, it was another message Katie moment, and immediately not only download book 3 but start it.
It's gonna be a long night people.
I want all of you to read this but be forewarned. If it can be on a trigger list, this book has it. If you've ever thought, I'm not sure I can read about that, this book had it. Reverse herem, m/m, m/m/m, and more depravity than you can think possible. If it can be brought to the pages, C.L. Matthew has brought it.
