This book helped me a little.

I'm probably going backward here, but I felt like I needed to read this book to understand things a little better.
This isn't by any chance Kade's HEA story, but it helped to show his life, his origin, his family and even the beginning of K19 Security Solutions.
Since I knew a few things about his life, I wasn't surprised about the ending.
It was sweet and enlightening.

I loved the Butler Ranch Series and I am so glad there is now a prequel that explains the events leading up to it.

Kade 'Doc' Butler, is part of an elite spec-ops group. His normal deployments are two months on, two months off, but he could also be called in at a moments notice.

Peyton Wolf owns Stave a wine bar and tasting room, where she highlights local wines. Ever since she met Kade the two of them have been circling each other. They are friends, they want more but keep shying away from it.

After a nice breakfast with Peyton, Kade heads to his family ranch. The ranch is a winery now with his brothers Maddox and Naughton handling the production and growing respectively. His youngest brother Brodie does the marketing. Kade will also update his father on his mission. He's the only one who knows that his parents aren't all that they seem.

I love the way the relationship between Peyton and Kade progresses and the way Kade interacts with her children Jamison and Finn. The process of founding K19 Security Solutions also plays an integral part.

Romance, laughter, love and tears as this book leads into the first Butler Ranch book Brodie. I think I need to do a re-read now.

I read Kade's worth after I read the first two books in the Butler Ranch series. As a result a lot of missing pieces have fallen into place. There were some startling revelations that filled in more. Kade Butler is quite a man; a Marine, a Force Recon operator, a Green beret, a SEAL, and Delta Force. On top of that he earned a degree as a physician's assistant. Impressive doesn't quite cover it. He's a man bound by duty and honor to the exclusion of a true personal life. Peyton Wolf was leading what she thought was a fulfilled life; single mother of two boys, co-owner of a thriving business with her best friend. It wasn't until Kade walked in that she realized there may be something missing but despite their friendship and later on, physical relationship, she always felt he was never 100 percent committed. He withheld a part if himself. His job took him away on a moment's notice, sometimes for days, some times for months. Though she thought she could or did love him, it wasn't enough to keep him.

This book is very enlightening.

This is the story of Kade (Doc) & Peyton. Kade was in the military where he trained to be a physician's assistant. He moved up to a Special Forces Unit. Peyton worked at a wine bar and tasting room. When Kade wasn't on a mission, he always went to see Peyton, just as friends. Kade holds a few deep secrets. It felt really good that this book filled in a lot of blanks that were missing from this series. Well done Heather Slade. I look forward to more of your books. You are a great writer.

Kade's Worth

Kade's Worth is a prequel to Butler Ranch and Slade's spin off series K19. I started Razor with K19 and I was alittle confused because it seemed these characters had major history so after alittle research I realized that Kade's Worth is the start for both series Butler Ranch and K19 Security. I enjoyed this story its fast pace but filled with introduction into quite a few characters. I am glad I did my research before jumping Into K19. I recommend reading Kade's Worth and than Butler Ranch than K19. Happy Reading!!

This book is the prequel to the Butler Ranch series and I am glade to get some of my questions answered since I have read some of the other books. Kade was a very loyal and bound by honor and an unusual man in many ways. He had many things he wanted to finish before he could make a commitment to Peyton and her boys. This story is well written but has secrets that have held him back. Peyton always but her boys first and due to the amount of time Kade was gone there was always a disconnect between them.

This just wasn't my taste, unfortunately. The first forty percent was wasted on too much description of things with no bearing on the romance between Kade and Peyton. Then, there's a lot of space wasted on multiple "secret" romances which aren't that secret. I read romance for the HEA, so the worst offense for me was this glaring lack.

Update: I just discovered that apparently the series was written first, followed by the prequel. Now the info dump makes more sense in this context!

This is always a favorite series to reread and the excitement and anticipation doesn’t disappoint. Kade’s Worth helps set up before Brodie’s book and gives you a glimpse of Kade and his interactions with his family, his until and with Peyton. You really should read this first before you kick off Butler Ranch. Get ready for your emotional strings to be tested. Heather Slade will keep you on your toes and coming back for more

We have the start of Kade, who’s in the military and Peyton, mother of Jamison and Finn. Peyton fought her feelings for Kade for a long time. She finally gives in to them. He continues to go on missions. While home he spends his time with Peyton and her sons. This is a well written book and I highly recommend it.

I found this in my Kindle library forgot I had this and I enjoyed reading how Kade and Peyton got together and about Kades life. It starts with Kade in a operation in the military what was happening there. After going back home he starts a seeing Peyton and I love reading about their relationship and his home life. I learn more about Butler Ranch and his parents and brothers and sisters.

Prequel Cade and Peyton

This prequel novella filled in a lot of the gaps in the Peyton, Brodie, Kade story. It also gave us glimpses into some of our other favorite couples! Good job, Heather!

Going back to the beginning

This explains a lot as to how the Butler Ranch series started out, all centering around Kade.
Very interesting, but I'm glad I read this afterward.
Read the books in order of release, excellent series!
