Blessed are those who love cats, for they shall never be lonely.
Cats used to be so very cool. You could depend upon them to shun you when returning from work. You could count on them to look at a just-opened, brand new, very expensive can of cat food and walk away with hurt feelings. You knew they counted your breaths at night to see how long they expected you to live. Cool beings.
Then YouTube came along and everyone and their mother started posting anything feline. Cats pooping, cats vomiting, cats meowing, cats playing the piano. A never ending catalogue of cat-ness. Not cool.
So the late Sydney Hauser, a wonderful illustrative artist, helped get me back to appreciating the little butter-butts with her artwork on and about cats. This is my favourite, a collection of various quotes about kitties with Hauser's unique drawings.
The cat who frightens the mice away is as good as the cat who eats them.
Cats don't like change without their consent.
A cat's hearing apparatus is built to allow the human voice to go easily in one ear and out the other.
Lovely artwork and stress-reducing sayings. Since I live with a cat who believes he is a god on earth, this book is helpful in reminding myself that once upon a time, cats were cool.
