The Dragon Demigods #6

Lord of Destiny

Rate this book
Book 6 in this exciting new world. If you like dragons and egotistical, super-sexy demigods, then this is the series for you.

I’m the son of a god.
The other half of a coin.
Where my identical twin brother, Jarrod, can see the past. I can see into the future.

An awesome ability. I’m lucky, right? Nope, I think I’m cursed. Imagine, for a second, that every time you touched someone, you could see into their future. Their happiness, their misfortune, and their death. You’d feel obliged to help them. To steer them clear of imminent disaster. I don’t mind helping others, but I’m not always successful. I’ve seen horrible things. Things that keep me up at night.

Trust me, if you had this ability, you’d steer clear of people too. You’d do everything in your power not to touch them, or to be touched. I guess that means I’m lonely. It comes with the territory. I’ve learned to live with it.

The words ‘stay away’ are my motto. That’s until I see her. I’m mesmerized because surely a more perfect creature does not exist. I’m the one who touches her. I haven’t willingly touched another person in the longest time. Imagine my surprise when I get nothing from her. No vision. No future. No nothing! That can only mean one thing, this beautiful woman isn’t human.

Who is she?
What is she?

What happens next, chills me to my bones. I might not be able to see into her future, but she sees into mine. What? How? She mutters a quick word of warning and then is gone. What she tells me is bad. It’s terrifying! I’m in serious trouble.

No cheating! Contains hot alpha males and therefore, strong sexual themes/language.

Lord of Destiny gives us a demigod that can show you your future just by touching you. But who would want that kind of power? Not Stephan. He is so tired of seeing people's future that he has stopped being around people.

But while at an MMA match a new group of demigods are there and found to be a little more than what they seem. Especially Raven. When Stephan touches Raven he sees nothing in her future, and for the first time, he doesn't mind touching someone. But Raven sees something and runs.

The secrets, characters, and sexual tension are what keeps you reading this story. I loved reading the Lord of Destiny. I couldn't put it down and read it in one sitting.

Lately I've been in a little bit of a book slump. Luckily this book drew me out of it. Finally!
I don't like giving negative reviews and I hate forcing myself to finish a book. This book had a lot of humor and I really liked the hero and the heroine. Stephan was patient, kind, and soooooo sweeet. Raven was tough but still all so kind. She was in a tough spot with being around men who were over protective but she stood up for herself. I even kind of liked the jerk, West. Trident cracked me up with his flirty ways. I'm not a fan of man whores but I couldn't help but like him. This book was over all light but it had a good mixture of character development and storylines

Not my fav, but not the worst in the series. I love how shy Stephen is, his and Raven’s chemistry worked very well. Like some have stated, it was incredibly predictable but it was a nice read :)

Will their abilities doom their future together ...

Since I was introduced to this group of demigods, I was curious about Stephan (well the others too). How his talent impedes his life as touching someone is like having an open book on their future, happy or not.
Why it is expected he keeps to himself most of the time, avoiding skin contact.
He is rather a reserved guy, more shy than vocal but it does not keep him from having a booming business. But it is a lonesome life and something is missing.
Raven is in fact the one quite mysterious, I am curious of how had she been granted the same “gift” or curse depending of its result than Stephan.
She had a shabby upbringing, raised like in the past where women had no say no rights. But she wants more, she refuses to be dictated what to do and whom to mate with.
When their paths collide together, it was supposed to be a short acquaintance, and as they share the same abilities, their chemistry even if it reaches the chart marks the end of any possible story between them.
Until Raven’s past catchs up with them, will then fighting their attraction be an option.

This story introduces a whole new bunch of fellows, brings some lights on the first guys and offers a lovely romance to a lonely soul and his other half.

Lord of Destiny is the sixth delicious book in The Dragon Demigods series. Sexy Demigod shifters who have sworn to a life alone. That is until unsuspecting women in need fall on their radar. But there are dramas along the way. A fun and angsty journey starts.

While each book can be enjoyed as a standalone, it's best to read them in order to fully appreciate the rich paranormal elements and exciting themes they offer.

The characters are fun and loving, but what they discover more than they ever imagined.

Strong, sexy alpha males!

Other Man Drama From Cover to Cover <— the true title of this book.

Ridiculous amounts of other man drama. Seriously, our hero and heroine lived in the land of ‘we can’t get together because her ex is a douche pants’. It was nearly impossible to read and frankly didn’t make a lick of sense. You can be a nice woman and still tell an abusive jerk to hit the road. Friend or not friend, former lover or former bang buddy, whatever. A man who flies off the handle at the slightest provocation and keeps you from getting to know new people is a PROBLEM.

And it blows my mind that the heroine’s story is based on the idea that she’s trying to get away from her controlling former ‘family’ and still lets this man have a say in her life. More than that - she’s deliberately nice to him despite how many times she tells him no. And screw it - SPOILER - frankly it didn’t surprise me in the least though so yeah, SPOILER, but you should’ve seen it coming - he’s the bad guy. Why? Cause he’s crazy and abusive and she refuses to put him in his place. She goes from leaving one controlling situation to allowing something much worse. AND her brother...who clearly knows there’s a problem with this dude, keeps convincing her to try to be nice to him. Excuse me?!?! NO. NO. NO. NO.

We’re supposed to believe that she is a strong character, but she lets people put her in horrible situations where she is completely powerless over and over again. It’s horrible. Why do we just accept this crap in books? This woman is not ready for a happily ever after. At all. She’s ready for therapy. Lots of it. I personally feel incredibly gaslighted by her situation. Just by the way his treatment of her was repeatedly brushed off by everyone. Don’t try to make something that bad seem okay. It’s not okay.

I read A LOT of books that have dubious consent and overbearing heroes that are hot in fiction, but I wouldn’t want to meet in the real world. A lot. They’re like crack to me. This was NOT that situation at all. And the fact that the hero just sat back and let things happen? No. Just no.

I read this entire book. The whole thing. I cringed. A lot. But I read it. And I wish I could get those hours back. I should’ve stopped the third time her inner monologue discussed how frustrated she was about her ex being so possessive and controlling. I should’ve stopped the fifth time. Any time. It happens SO MANY TIMES!!!

I read the first book in this series and LOVED it. My five star review is on Amazon - it was pre-Goodreads account. Loved the characters. Loved the premise. I was dying to read about the rest of the guys. Then, I read the second and was not all that impressed. I totally skipped the third because frankly the idea of a novella talking about their babies seemed like a redundant money grab to me (sorry, not sorry). I didn’t really keep up after that because I was annoyed. I read another full length that I barely remember. And this one. It has turned me off completely. Even the steam factor sucked. They might as well be reading a manual for s*x in the mud.

I am very disappointed. I HATE OM DRAMA. HATE IT. And it completely takes over this book. The book might as well be titled Other Man Drama. There was so much filler about other people that we barely get to know our hero and heroine. They have maybe five encounters on their own in this book. And even then, everyone else is closely lurking in the background.

I don’t recommend it. At all. I don’t like to be that person who so vehemently rips a book apart. I know how much work goes into every book and I try to be graceful about it. But I’m going to do the thing that our heroine refused to do until the very last moment. I’m going to put my foot down and say no. We can all do better than this.

Stephanus, one of twins who isolates himself.  He can see a persons future not always good.

Imagine being twin brother demigods whose powers are one who can see the future and the other sees the past by the touch to a person.  Stephan who sees the future and Jarrod sees the past.  They go to extremes not to touch anyone.
Stephan and Jarrod are at an MMA fight with their brother Rage who has a match scheduled.  Rage's opponent is West and he has some super human strength which leads the demigods to conclude that West and the others in his party are non-humans and the fight is vicious.  With this new incident things get interesting for all the brother demigods.
Stephan sees a woman in West's group and he is very attracted to her but something happens that becomes life changing with him and her.
So many unknowns are introduced with the new group.  It makes this book a page-turner with a lot of mystery, action, so much danger and even a hot steamy relationship with Stephan and Raven and so much more that holds the reader's attention.
This is a book to definitely read and a great one written by Charlene Hartnady.  She puts so much into this book that you can't miss reading it.  I recommend this book and the whole demigod series.  I can't wait for the next book in the series.

I purchased this book and also I received an ARC of this book and volunteering to leave an honest review.

Raven and Stephan

Another good story as sixth in the series brings in new players to the group and family relationships previously unknown.
Four shifter demigods and one shifter female make themselves known at a staged ring fight as Rage goes against newcomer, West. The fight gets viscous as the two recognize the fact that they are both shifters. Before their fight gets out of hand and one of them shifts in public, Raven throws in the towel, stopping the fight as West’s manager.
The following day, Stephan pulls up behind a stalled vehicle on the road and discovers the group from the night before are stranded and offers his assistance, both with offer of a tow and breakfast at a nearby restaurant. West is having difficulty accepting Stephan’s help and would prefer to continue the fight that ended the night before; however, the rest of the group are grateful for his help.
The story progresses with the new shifters being welcomed into the homes of Stephan and friends and their vehicle being repaired as a favor. West continues to cause discontent refusing to accept Raven has permanently broken off their previous relationship. That only gets worse as a spark ignites between Stephan and Raven.
It becomes known that the newcomers are fleeing from their old clan of shifters and fear for their lives.
Because of the introduction of so many new names and connections, the story is best enjoyed by reading previous issues first.

🔹ARC kindly provided from the author for an honest review.🔹

We met Stephanus, a dragon demigod who can read people’s future with nothing more than a touch.
At a fighting match with his brother he meets a dark haired beauty named Raven, who sparks his interest.

We get a lot of interesting additions to the series in this book, but the main two characters love story I found rushed and less captivating. It felt less inviting. Less vibrant.
And frankly, I didn’t root for them at all. 🤷🏻‍♀️
I thing the main reason for this is the fact that I didn’t find Raven that appealing to me.
She felt immature.
And Stephanus was hard to get a read on.

So basically the two main characters didn’t really get that much “time” to really develop them as characters because so many extra people where introduced.
I did find the introductions intriguing, but it affected the MC’s story too much to get a good connection going.
But guys.
Look at at pretty vibrant cover guys, is so pretty. I love the color-combination.

This is a wonderful book, the characters and the story were simply
This is the continuing story of the Demigods and all of their capers and interactions with simply splendid and once you begin reading this wonderful book you will find yourself to be totally engrossed and the story will blow you away.
He is not only the son of a god but he also has an identical twin brother Jarod who is able to see what has happened in the past, it is a useful ability that has come in useful on many occasions.
He is not as luck or at least he doesn’t think he is as he only has to touch a person and in instantly able to see exactly what is going to happen whether it be good bad or indifferent and then he has decided whether to help them or to simply let fate have its way?
This is wonderful read that will keep you simply riveted to the story.
I voluntarily received and review an Advanced Reader Copy
I thoroughly enjoyed the book and look forward to reading any future publications; keep up all the great writing.

Dragon Shifter series. Author threw in a side of “Demi-god” for spice. Book hero’s personalities took on aspects based after their “Greek god” fathers. Can’t say that really added much for me personally.

Book 1. (4⭐️) Forge (Son of Hephaestus. God of fire) & Ava (down on her luck running from crime boss.)
Book 2. (3⭐️)Night (Son of Hades. God of Underworld.) & Shannon, tortured soul/ recovering AA.
Book 3. (2⭐️) Little Lords - book follows pregnancies of book 1 & 2 couples. Odd read. I found that it lacked a true plot payoff. And the overlap with book 4 threw me.
Book 4. (3.5 ⭐️) Lyre (Son of Apollo) Morgan supernatural PI
Book 5. (3 ⭐️) Bolt (Son of Zeus) & Ashley Bakery Chef
Book 6. (2.5 ⭐️) Jarrod (Son of Janus) and Raven another dragon shifter
Book 7. (2.5 ⭐️) Rage (Son of Ares) and Nia a hellhound.
Book 8. (2.5 ⭐️) Trident (Son of Poseidon) & Zara restaurant manager

Stephen has just ran into somebody just like him. Him Nd his brother are at a MMA fight watching their friend Rage but the guy he is fighting isn’t human . All of a sudden that women is stopping the fight. What is going on? Stephen will soon find out. He is going to have breakfast he see her and her crew broke down on the side of the road. After stopping and after offering to find a place to fix their car he also offers them a place to stay he wants to get to know her better. Raven and her crew have just bad luck but maybe it’s about to change after meeting this very interesting guy and his brother. But soon the others will find out they aren’t the only demigod dragon shifter. So enjoy this good read and see how it turns out !!

So much fun!

I am loving this series so much!!
Stephan gets visions of the future when he touches people. While his twin brother Jared can see the past.
While at a MMA fight between Rage and a man named West something strange happens, he accidentally touches a woman. But the strangeness is that he didn't have a vision but she did.
He stumbles upon her the next day with the four guys she was with the night before. He offers them help with their broken down vehicle. And things continue to get weird when he and his brother find out that this group are demigod/dragons too.
You must read this and find out what other weird anomalies happen. And there definitely are others.

Great addition

I always thought that the twins power’s must truly suck and reading Stephane’s story gave a whole new look on his life and how it must feel to live with seeing someone’s future when you touch them. But
What happens when the one person he touches and can’t read, can read him and they see his death. Ensue a story of betrayal and new beginning’s for two people who’ve always had to be careful not to crave the most basic human interaction. Touch. Loved the story it was a different pace compared to the other books in the series, but still a masterpiece none the less.

His Destiny has arrived😍

OMG, I could not put this book down - it sucked me in and kept me enthralled right until the very end❣️ Stephanus or Stephan, touches a woman voluntarily and when he does, it’s the first time he doesn’t get a vision. However, the same can’t be said for the woman. Raven and Stephan’s story is slightly different to the others but still has that wow factor with a whole bunch of surprises in store for us🤩

I’m looking forward to Rage’s story and finding out more about the dog 🐶 I received an advanced copy and I willingly leave my honest review❤️

Another Great Read

I have been loving the Demigod series & Stephan did not disappoint nor did Raven who I absolutely loved.
Stephan is a twin who can see the future which causes him great problems but Raven is the same so they have an early attraction.
This books brings us more Demigods which will mean more of these great stories.
This can be read as a standalone but it is well worth going back to the beginning to read all of the couples so far & many who are mentioned in this book.
What can I say except all of this series is excellent & I loved these two.

I’ve really enjoyed this series, but I didn’t love this book. It wasn’t bad, it was just ok. I’m a huge fan of this author, but this one just didn’t do it for me. I was never really able to get invested in Stephan. Maybe because he didn’t seem to be a huge factor in any of the previous books so I didn’t feel an emotional tie to him. The demi Gods seem to be in each of the books to a certain degree but I really don’t remember Stephan that much.

In any event, like I said, this book wasn’t bad it just wasn’t all that great.

Such a great addition to the series!

This was an unexpected but welcomed storyline for the Dragon Demigods. It’s interesting and just keeps pulling you more into the thickness of this new discovery. Stephan and Jarrod are at a fight with Rage. As the fight progresses, it’s clear that Rage is not doing as well as he normally does. What is going on? His competition named West is taking all his punches and getting on blows to Rage. At this point, both Stephan and Jarrod are convinced that West is not just a human, but more. What is West? Read On!

Stephanus and Raven's story. Demigods/Dragons what more can a reader ask for? Great Plot, great characters. I hate it when I LOVE a series like I have this series. The reason being I read the whole series without stopping to write a review. So when I get to the last book, be it 5 books r 25 books in the series I have to go back and write a review. And this is one of those series.

Stephan & Raven

This was a fun read, learning about other dragon demigods and seeing how much the men are changing, adapting/growing. I loved the banter/laughter and some of the tense moments.

I am curious about a few things;

1- West and how is future will unfold and if it will with the rest of the demigods.
2- how things will be with the demigods having half siblings.
3- I want to know more about Star like she sounds awesome!
4- Rage, what’s with the dog? lol

I definitely recommend the book, it has plenty of what we are used to from the author especially the heat and laughter. 7.5/10 🧿

Awesome Read!!

Oh wow..loved it. So glad everything worked out for Stephan and Raven. West is something else, I just knew it was him that did the deed of ratted them out, all because of jealousy...men and their ego. And surprise, surprise these new demigods are related to our dear friends, how weird is that. Loved it, now Rage has a problem this " dog" is no normal dog she is a shifter and fixated on Rage..wow now this I can't wait to read...big fan as always Winzie19☺💞.

Excellent

Another great read in this series, a chance encounter revealing the presence of more demigods and the fact that they are half brothers and even a half sister of the original group stuns everyone. As if that isn't enough of a twist there is love in the air for Stephan. So much happens in this book that has you fascinated and unable to put it down. Can't wait for the next in the series.

It's been awhile since I read books 1 to 5 plus loads of others since, so had to try and remember who was who bolts book was the last and I remember thinking 50 shades. This series don't have all characters in every book (should really) this book added a lot of new demo gods.one of the twins finds love plus a mysterious dog hangs with rage (funny and cute) looks like his story next.

Another great book in this series. Stephanus isnt your typical alpha shifter. He is sweet, a bit shy and an all around nice guy. He is also a big, muscled super sexy dragon shifter/demi god. Stephanus wasnt looking for love but Raven was a lovely surprise. Their love story is filled with danger, humor and lots of steamy scenes. I loved it and I cant wait for the next book in the series!

I really liked Stephan, and Raven was fine, but I didn't enjoy this book as much as the previous ones. There was so much more going on than their romance, with all the new characters and their former weyr. In some ways it seemed like the romance between Stephan and Raven was secondary to the rest of the story.

Fighting That Feeling Of Love

This series is awesome. Each book takes the reader to another time place. The drama, suspense and action is from the beginning to the end. The romance and passion is spell binding as it draws the reader in like glue. I personally like Trident with his funny personality. Excellent reading!
