Love & Wine #3

Maybe Yours

Rate this book
Working together is more fun when you’re falling in love...

What do a dating app and co-workers have in common? Other than being a terrible idea...nothing! Internet dating is not for the faint of heart and neither is finding out you're accidently dating your co-worker.

At least that’s what Tommy Andrews discovers when he realizes the woman he’s been talking dirty to online is none other than Penny Cartwright, his much younger co-worker who runs the tasting room at Somerville Winery and Vineyard.

But Penny is determined to prove that just because she’s younger, it doesn’t mean she doesn’t know what she wants. And what she wants is Tommy.

As their chemistry sizzles, denying their attraction to each other proves more difficult than keeping it a secret from their bosses. And you know what they say about dating your co-worker...

From page one I completely fell in love with Penny and Tommy. As their story continued, I continued to fall more and love with these two characters. Mix in the beautiful setting of a Napa Winery and Maybe Yours is the perfect escape.

Penny has dated a string of less than stellar men and has pretty much given up. Tommy is fresh out of a long-term relationship. The two of them have worked together for years, but never really spent time together, however, it was easy to see there was something between them. The two of them are complete opposites. Tommy is kind of grump with a mix of sweetness once you pull some layers and Penny is more of a free spirt, just kind of goes with the flow. They have some meddling bosses and friend’s aka Jack, who mentions a new dating app where you don’t share any pictures of yourself. Penny downloads the app out of curiosity to see if maybe something will come from it and Jack downloads the app for Tommy and this is where things start to get interesting.

I loved the back and forth between Penny and Tommy on the app and when they started spending more time together with their bee’s. On the app they were forming a deeper connection and truly getting to know each other. On the vineyard they were forming a friendship and I loved seeing that grow and I loved the fact that they bonded over bees. They had me laughing so many times, but there was also some frustration and I wanted to knock some sense into both Pen and Tom!

It was great to get more of Ellen, Will, Lauren and Jack throughout the story and get little glimpses of the previous couples. Of course, Oscar and Olivia and their little remarks were always hilarious. I’m hoping that there is a story in the future for two certain characters in the future because I need to know more!

If you’re looking for an age gap, workplace romance that is on the lighter side this is one to check out!

Thank you to Claire Raye for the advanced copy for an honest review.

This is the first book I've read from this author duo and it definitely won't be the last!!! They had me at grumpy hero and age gap haha. I saw them and I knew I had to read it.

Tommy and Penny are coworkers at Somerville Winery and Vineyard. He's a little bit of a grumpy man and she's this carefree woman. Penny has split up with her boyfriend and is swearing off men. Tommy and his ex broke up because she was moving and he didn't want to leave the place he love working at.

So their friend Jack who's also the bosses hubby mentions to Penny in passing about this dating app where you don't have a profile pic and just message eachother. Penny is like nope I've just split up with someone I'm not going there again. Then later he sees Tommy and tells him the exact same thing and he's like hell no I'm not joining a dating app. But then after a while they each join up and they both get matched with eachother. They just don't know it lol.

I loved everything about this book from the grumpy, serious and near enough always in a mood hero to the young, carefree and say how it is heroine. The chemistry was amazing, loved the back and forth between them both on the app and loved the friendship they formed together whilst beekeeping.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.5

Maybe Yours is the third book in the Love and Wine Series and believe me when I say this series just keeps getting better and better. Age gap, co-workers, friends to lovers and a little bit of mistaken identity, all bundled into one big ball of awesomeness. Maybe Yours has it all! Tommy and Penny are another perfect addition to the Somerville family and dare I say, my favourite couple yet. Coming from a fellow Aussie, I truly thought Jack would be my all-time favourite main character, but Tommy has stolen my heart. What can I say, I think I will always gravitate towards the strong and silent types.

Penny has dated one too many duds and taken a break from dating. Tommy has just gotten out of a long-term relationship and is little nervous to put himself out there again, especially if given the ultimatum between his job and a relationship. Unbeknownst to the other, they both sign up for an anonymous dating app, only to connect with their perfect matches … each other.

Tommy and Penny are COUPLE GOALS! It just goes to show that age and time don’t factor into a great relationship. If it feels right, that’s all that matters. I loved the concept of the dating app and the anonymity it brought to the building of Tommy and Penny’s friendship. Couple the overall fresh and exciting feel with the angst of ‘when will they finally realise’ and the sarcastic, teasing and playful banter the two shared, I was solidly invested from beginning to end.

Whilst I adored all of the characters, both main and secondary, the element that had love bursting from my chest is the family dynamic between the Somerville crew. Of course, I couldn’t not mention my love for the regular pop ins from Jack and Lauren and the crazy antics of the two O’s (If you know, you know) Could you get a better group of friends and family that are loving, compassionate, supportive and just a joy to be around? I don’t think so.

Claire Raye has created another incredible addition to an already incredible series and I’m so thankful I found their talent. Here’s hoping Dylan and Tessa’s voices are so loud in the girls’ heads that their stories get told next. My fingers and toes are crossed.

Thank you so much Claire & Raye for the advanced readers’ copy for my honest review.

Maybe Yours was absolutely what I needed in the middle of this thing called life. It was fun and light and entertaining, full of heart that will leave you with a contented heart at the end.

It was so amazing to go back and visit with these amazing characters at Somerville's and honest to god, I just wanna move there and never leave because this vineyard seems magical!

I so called this couple when I was reading Finally Yours without so much as any indication and Claire Raye definitely delivered.

I got lost in Penny and Tommy's banter, rooting for their friendship and their beekeeping and wanting to shake them at times when they needed to get their sh*t together. And dear lord, I could just sit there and keep reading about them tending to the bees, trying to outsmartass the other. It was simply so wholesome without unnecessary drama and fake obstacles.

Penny and Tommy were so good together, balancing each other and I fell completely, head over heels in love with them and yes they SHOULD be thanking Jack. I loved their convos on the app were sizzling and completely open but their chemistry face to face was simply palpable, I couldn't get enough of them.

Oscar and Olivia were absolute highlights as always and wait for more of them hopefully. As for what comes next......I CAN'T FREAKING WAIT!!!!!!

It's official, Somerville's is my happy place and Claire Raye can do no wrong in my eyes.

Maybe Yours has lust, laughs, dirty talk and love all rolled into one book. Claire has you laughing at the banter and sexual tension between Penny and Tommy.

In this sweet age gap romance Pen is a young lady that has been given an opportunity to work for a winery. She loves working there and the people. Her love life is not so great and has decided to stay away from men. Well that all changes when Jack, one of the owners of the winery, tells her about a dating app that no pics are involved. Will she join? Will the guys just be jerks or could someone really find love on an app?

Tommy is the older guy that works at the winery but he is known to be the grumpy guy of the place. He, also, has had a bad run of relationships. Jack tells him about the app as well and he laughs at him. What does Jack do behind Tommy's back?

What happens when Pen and Tom use the app? Do the creeps start to come out? Do they know who they're talking to/messaging? Will love bloom?

The dialogue between Pen & Tom has you hot and bothered as well as laughing. I loved the banter between them as it just added to the relationship between them.

This is the third book in Claire's Love & Wine series and it is a must-read. It can be read as a standalone but I would read all of them.

Maybe Yours
By Claire Raye
Main Characters: Tommy and Penny
I voluntarily and honestly reviewed this book without bias or persuasion from the author.
5 out of 5 stars
Penny is 23 and Tommy is 34 and they both work at a winery in Napa. Penny is outgoing and fun and Tommy is quiet and a little on the grumpy or gruff side. Their friends who own the winery want to see them together and so Jack sets them up on a dating app where they do not share where they work or show pictures of themselves and the two really get along that way for a while. Of course, their curiosity comes into play and they would like to have a face-to-face date. This was a sweet slow build-up to get together. I loved it when they both started working on raising honeybees. (As we have 4 hives of our own) I loved their witty retorts together. I do recommend this book.

HOLY CRAP I loved this book! I wouldn't say it's enemies to lovers, but kind of uneasy coworkers. They start messaging via a dating app but don't know who they're talking to. The whole book was funny and clicked with my sense of humor. The steamy bits were phenom and one thing I really liked was that the characters laughed a lot during intimacy.

I was sent a free book and am voluntarily leaving this honest review.

The premise of this story was brilliant. Coworkers who don’t necessarily get along, match on a dating app and the rest is a mixture of hilariousness, spice and all the feels!!

Penny is a free-spirit, and someone who can go with the flow without many (or any at all really) complaints about it. Tommy is the complete opposite. He’s more structured and can come off as a grump. But when you throw the two together, they manage to balance each other out in the best ways. We get to see a much softer side of Tommy when he’s engaging with Penny, and we also get to see Penny not take his crap! Their back and forth is hilarious, and their chemistry is out of this world.

I absolutely loved this entire story, Penny and Tommy are phenomenal characters, and the secondary characters were just as fantastic. I do love getting to catch up with characters from previous stories, so I was very appreciative of getting to see Will and Ellen and Lauren and Jack! I love a good age-gap romance and this book was just that! This was a quick, fun, and steamy read!

Let’s talk about “Maybe Yours by Claire Raye”, third book in the Love & Wine series.
🐝
Grab your wine, apple cider, mead or whatever drink you like and let’s enjoy this book together. I chose wine and it was just as delicious as this story was. I’m always in awe with this duo of authors because they easily blend the heaviness between their book releases, the last one I cried a lot and this one was pure fun, lots of banter, a (little) grump man, a sassy lady and a lot of laughs and steam. Mix this all with an age gap and a workplace romance, sign me in!

Penny and Tommy didn’t exactly started their friendship at the right foot, she thought he hated her when he was actually only a mood guy and he thought she was too young to take anything serious. By the way I’m a little offended that he was “classified” as old when he was 34 years old 😂, haven’t you heard that the 30s are the new 20s? Anyway, Penny with her 23 years old, was larger than life, but she also took her responsibilities seriously. Thorough out the story they both proved each other wrong, multiple times.

While their friendship was growing, to a point of combustion, they were also flirting anonymously through a dating app, their conversations? HOT! But the apex of the book was when the truth was revealed, I laughed so much. While I was falling in love with them, I got to adore the winery scene, with the taste room, their on growing business with the bee’s and the whole friendships they had.

Of course toward the end there was some little angst and proved that Pen and Tom were more alike than not, being that stubborn but it all paid off in the end. See, sometimes during our life we are blessed create such friendships that are more like family and that’s the case here. I wanted to dive in their world and be their friends as well. If you want a light read with all the goods I told you so, this is for you!

Maybe Yours is the third books in the Love & Wine series from Claire Raye, it is absolutely wonderful. I was hooked from the beginning and so intrigued by the chemistry Penny & Tommy share.

They have both had their hard times in past relationships, wanting to find someone who will love them for them but are scared to get hurt. I enjoyed how relatable Penny was and her inner thoughts were so accurate and hilarious. I fell for Tommy when we met him back in book one and wanted to know more – I was so happy he got his own book. Even thought he starts off as grumpy and kind of closed off, that isn’t really him and seeing how he comes out of his shell was so great!

The cute banter and causal flirting Tommy and Penny share was so fun to read and I loved watching their friendship and then feelings develop as the story went on.

Hands down my favourite part of this book was the incorporation of the dating app! Not only was this the first time I have ever read a book with this kind of ‘twist’ but seeing their messages back in forth was fantastic!! It was easy to feel the nervousness and excitement they felt in finding someone who they connected with.

There is lots of laughs making for an entertaining read I always had something to giggle about. The supporting characters (from the previous books) just added to the fun, and so great to hear from them again!
Maybe Yours is more on the light-hearted side, with a touch of realistic relationship struggles was just what I needed to read right now!
If you love an age–gap (I’ve discovered lately I do!), workplace romance with lots of laughs, swoon worthy love and a touch of steam this is perfect! Another fantastic addition of the Claire Raye collection!

5⭐️s!

Maybe Yours is a age gap, friends to lovers, workplace romance and is book 3 in the Love & Wine series and is Tommy and Penny's laugh out loud story.
Tommy and Penny work together at Somerville Winery and both have been having trouble with relationships and picking the wrong people. Enter Jack! He tells them/sets them up on a new dating app with no names and no pictures and where you get to know the person by their personality and not their looks.
Spending another night alone, they both think what have they got to lose and give the dating app a chance.
Penny gets matched with C.Grizwold and Tommy gets matched with WineGirl, which then leads to spending nights messaging each other for the next couple of weeks.
But while finding a connection with someone you've never met online, Tommy and Penny start growing closer with their new business adventure.
"We've grown closer over these last few months and what was once a work acquaintance relationship has formed into a friendship I never saw coming and it makes me realise I'm not as alone as I thought I was."
Feeling conflicted WineGirl and C.Grizwold decide to meet but imagine their surprise when they find out they've been messaging each other!
Can Tommy move past the age gap between the pair and realise everything he's been looking for has been right in front of him all along or will a job offer ruin what is growing between them and bring all of Tommy's insecurities/worries to the surface?
Read Maybe Yours to find out!
I really enjoyed Maybe Yours and how you get to revisit the previous characters in the series and see what's going on in their lives.
I received an arc of Maybe Yours and I am voluntarily leaving my review.

Maybe Yours by Claire Raye
Love & Wine #3- Releasing April 7th 2021

“How much did we drink last night” “a lot” jack replies, grinning. “Difference is, I’m Australian so I can handle my booze better than you.”

This is the first book in this series I’ve read and from page one I absolutely fell in love with Penny and Tommy. It had me hooked from the very beginning. Maybe your is a age gap, friends to lovers, workplace romance trope and has a little bit over everything.

Tommy Andrews has been around Somerville for most of his life and pretty much grew up with Lauren and Ellen. He has recently come out of a long term relationship and whilst he wants the future everyone does he’s struggling to see himself getting it as he just can’t find the right one. Then one small bee string leads to and adventure neither himself or Penny found themselves being on.

Penny Cartwright seems to always attract the wrong guy. So being fresh out of a relationship herself she decides to swear off men and make decisions for herself from now on. But like everyone says as soon as you stop looking love will find you.

I really loved this book, can’t definitely think I’m going to have to go back and read book 1&2 in the series.

I was lucky enough to receive an ARC of Maybe Yours and for that I’m very grateful.

Instant Fan of Love & Wine!!

Oh my! Where has this author been – why is this the first story I am reading of hers?!?

I am so thrilled I took the opportunity to read this story.

It is fun, it is flirty. It also contains deep emotions. As might be indicated by the title, it focuses on those working at a winery. Penny is a mature 23 and works the tasting room. Tommy is a grumpy 34 and is an integral part of the vineyard – growing up with the owners.

The reader knows things the characters do not – which adds to the fun. Tommy and Penny are working on becoming friends in “real life”, but also both pushed into a new dating app where there are no pictures, and recommendations not to talk jobs etc. so it does not influence the building of the relationship. I got goose bumps reading this – waiting for the characters to realize what I already knew!!

We get under the skin of these characters – both have been burnt in the past. The struggle is real, and the journey is touching, emotional, and humorous. The read is phenomenal!! I need more stars to rate this book appropriately.

This is the third book of the Love and Wine series. It is also the first time I have read anything by this author, and it certainly won't be my last. Tommy and Penny are co-workers at a winery. They couldn't be any more opposites, her care-free, outgoing, and loves to have fun. Tommy is more of a keep to yourself, grumpy, quiet person. There is also quite an age gap between the two. However, their friends who own the winery would really like to see them together, so they set them up through a dating app and they really hit it off, not really knowing who the other is. They really brought out the best in each other. It was great watching their relationship develop and them grow closer. A really sweet, heartwarming romance that captured my heart. Great storyline and well-developed, endearing characters, I found this book a delight to read and will be looking for more by this author.

I was given a complimentary advanced reader's copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving my review.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an ARC of this book. This is the 3rd book in the Love and Wine series. Each book can be read as a standalone. Maybe Yours is an age gap/ friends to lovers romance.
Penny and Tommy both work at the Somerville Winery and Vineyard. Penny in the wine tasting room and Tommy out in the fields.
Penny has horrible luck in the love department but she hates being alone. Her boss suggests a new dating app for her to join and she likes the idea of getting to know someone without knowing what the person looks like. What could possibly go wrong.
Tommy is miserable and grumpy. His long-time girlfriend dumped him recently and he's taking it out on everyone around him. So his boss signs him up for a dating app so he can get back out there. Maybe it's just what he needs.
I was super excited to get an ARC of this book. When I first got it I had not read any books by this author. Not wanting to miss anything from this series. I went back and read the first two book in the series. Which I absolutely loved and definitely can't wait for more in this series.

“There’s something so fucking powerful in your patience, in your ability to accept and be free and I can’t walk away from that,”

Maybe Yours is book three in Love & Wine series and even tho this is a series (I started book 3 first) I didn’t feel like I missing out on anything, the previous characters made appearances and were great so at some point I would love to read their stories. For Penny & Tommy’s it was a great age gap romance filled with funny/witty banter and when the dating app was introduced it brought on a fun element to their story.
Penny being the free spirit and bringing out the softer/funnier side to Tommy was fun to see, honestly they were so cute together.

Claire Raye is definitely one of my go to authors for when I need a good contemporary romance. If your looking for a mix of enemies to lovers/age gap/work place romance then I definitely recommend checking out this one!!

Somerville Winery Vineyard is a place I want to move to🌞 OMG I love a great romance set in a vineyard, and Claire Raye didn't disappoint with this 3rd book on their Somerville Series.
Penny and Tommy are such a cute couple love them!!
This is a friends to lovers, age gap romance. They have lots of chemistry and she really likes him, but Tommy keeps fighting it because he fared the age difference would not work for them in the long run, and both had been through some bad relationships. Both had decided to just take a break and work on their professions....
Surprise here comes Jack the matchmaker with a suggestion of a dating app for both of them. So unbeknownst to them, Penny and Tommy were getting to know each other via this incognito dating app, and in real life things were heating up too. This was comical to witness really LOL 😂.
I loved to see them carve their own place in this vineyard.
There's some hurdles but they finally get to that HEA, no cheating, no cliffhanger! The steam was HOT.
Was great revisiting with the secondary characters Lulu, Jack, Ellen, Will , their adorable kids, and other's was wonderful.
I definitely recommend this book it was a little, upbeat, romantic love story set in wine country Napa Valley!

Talk about an amazing read!

I fell in love with Penny and Tommy and loved their story! The banter and chemistry between these two is palpable from the first page!

It was such a fun and original read, and I love the backdrop of Napa and the winery. It was smart and sexy, and I love visiting old characters from this series. The journey of these two characters is so wonderful that you can't help but fall in love with them and what they're going through. Penny and Tommy were such easy characters to connect with, and made it all that much better to read! I was cheering from them, laughing along with them, and swooning!

Everything you love in a contemporary romance is packed into this book!

Do yourself a favor and pick up this series...another amazing book by Claire Raye!

This is a great read. It is well written, lighthearted and fun. I loved the banter between WineQueen and C. Grizwold it is flirty and fun and made me laugh out loud on many occasions. In their real lives, Penny and Tommy’s chemistry is undeniable (even if he tries so hard to). Thank goodness he finally gets his shit together (as Jack would say) and shows her how he really feels.
This is a great addition to the Love & Wine series, and I love that the winery is so family oriented and that they embrace these two and encourage their fledgling Mead business.
I highly recommend this for a light, easy, fun read. As this is Book #3, do yourself a favour and check out the whole series.

Tommy and Penny’s story is so awesome! I loved the premise of how they were attracted to each other...in real life and from an anonymous dating app. As they get to know each other better they develop a great friendship with lots of joking and laughter but then they can’t hide their feelings any longer.

Claire Raye does an amazing job with the details of the setting...it’s very easy to visualize the winery, land, Tommy’s house and “the shed”! Also, the cast of characters within the story are wonderful, funny and doing their best to push Tommy and Penny together.

This book was just what I needed as it was light, funny, warm and filled with friendship, support and love.

I requested an arc and I am leaving my honest review.

I was super happy to receive an ARC for this little gem and it did not disappoint.

Penny is my kind of gal: fun, hardworking, not sure if men are actually worth it.
Tommy is the grumpy quiet type who secretly nurtures a crush on his co-worker and have I failed to mention this is one of my favourite tropes in romance? Well, now you know.

I so enjoyed their banter through the app, unfiltered as they didn't know who they were actually talking to, all the while the sparkles sizzled between them at the vineyard but they fought it.

All and all, a lovely book that helped pull me out of the reading slump I found myself in the past week. I highly recommend it!

Maybe Yours is a sweet, romantic, banter filled read. It is lighthearted so if you’re looking for something to take you away from the everyday this book is it.
When Penny and Tommy both sign up for to a dating app, they connect with each other, but don’t realise this. The messages get sexier as their days at work together become friendlier too. Their chemistry is amazing.
This is a great little read with lots of steam, banter and friendships, along with a little added angst.

I was in a reading funk and pushed myself to read this book. I am so glad I did. It was the perfect, believable story. The characters felt real and honest. I was impressed with how the author maturely added conflict rather than the same old misunderstandings leading to over dramatic fights. By the I finished, I was so thrilled I pushed pst my mental funk and gave this book a chance. The author hooked me.... AGAIN!

The first two books in this series have been fun and full of laughter with the right balance of sweet and sexy and this book doesn’t stray from that recipe.

“Just two lost souls, wandering along until we found what felt right and everything about us and this place and what we’re doing feels so damn right.”

Penny has had enough of guys for now and decided to take a break. A friend/coworker suggested a new dating app slightly different than the others she’s tried so she thought why the heck not?
Grumpy Tommy got forced into trying a dating app and when she meets a girl he clicked with right away he was ecstatic.

It was fun to see how Penny and Tommy interact both in real life and digital life and when both lives finally collide with each other.

A feel good romance but slight angst and full of laughter and love.

This was a great book. It is a light read with low angst and drama ( thank you). I really enjoyed the characters of Tommy and Penny . The humor in a dating site that matched the coworkers. Their compatibility despite the age gap which was not an issue.
Humor, heart and a great winery setting.
My favorite in the series. I am volunteering to leave a review for this book.

A terrific read. This is the third book in the Love and Wine series and can be enjoyed as a stand alone. The energy that Claire Raye’s characters put forth is outstanding. You’ll want to hang out with them this weekend! The narrative is smart, funny, and makes your heart race with just a bit of anticipation. I love Penny and all her self-truths and candid nature. Definitely a fun, feel-good story with a tiny bit of angst. Highly recommended!

Ugh Penny and Tommy are serious relationship goals 😍 in fact the entire crew are! Despite being an age gap (they just don’t do it for me) I really loved Pen and Tommy’s story. I love how Penny was a sassy, confident, bold leading lady and that she chipped away at Tommy’s seemingly cold exterior. It was also very cool that the entire book was basically set in one location. That doesn’t happen often. Maybe Yours was a funny, cute, FULL OF STEAM 🔥 novel and you don’t have to read the first 2 in the series in order to under this one, but I do wish I had of!
