Doss Callaway had never dreamed he’d have a family since he was basically infertile. After all, what Alpha would want an Omega who couldn’t father a child? It was why he’d become an obstetrician, to help other Omegas find a way to have the life he would never have.
Landon Odell had been forced to put his carefree life on hold when his parents had died and he’d become the guardian to his three-year-old baby brother. Now that his brother was grown, Landon hoped to never have that kind of responsibility again.
Fate had other plans for these two. The only problem – so does the Hart’s Medical Center stalker and accomplice. Will Doss and Landon be able to find a future together, or will one of them die when the stalker kills for the first time?
Warning: Rape is involved in this story, although the actual act is off screen. Although each couple in this series gets their own HEA, you should read the entire series for the ongoing story arc!
Bestselling author of the Cedar Falls Series, Hart Medical Center Series, Miracle Series, and Paranormal Wars Series, Shea Balik has always had a vivid imagination with stories running around in her head. Often her stories are taken from observations of other people with her own spin.
Traveling is one of her favorite ways of fulfilling her passion of people watching. You never know, one day you may spark her imagination for her next book.
Whether at home or traveling she is usually in front of her computer writing or curled up with a good book.
This was book 7 in the "Hart Medical Center" series. Dr. Doss Callaway is an omega who is an obstetrician who helps couples have babies because he is infertile. Alpha Landon Odell has raised his little brother Breccan when his parents died when he was 18. With his brother in college he begins to wonder if it is time for him to get a life. When his brother is attacked and sexually assaulted he races to the hospital where Dr. Callaway mistakes him for the alpha that attacked Breccan. Doss is the next omega that is on the stalkers list when he received the first flowers he didn't see that as he had them removed the nurse Pilar tried to warn him but he thought they were from a patient until he read the card a week later. I love Shale and those knives of his they came in handy when Breccan's attacker tried to assault him again. So Breccan and Landon go to stay with Doss who turns out lives in a gated community that his family started turns out Dr. Callaway comes from a very wealthy family who taught him to work for what he wanted and didn't make a difference between alpha's and omega's. This was a pretty good read they figured out who 1 of the stalkers is and why she is doing what she is doing she was also the one that Shale fought with. This book was well written with no errors in grammar or spelling. I am looking forward to reading the next book in this series.
Ok, to kill Shea or not to…...that is the question. Lol. Just when I thought I had it figured out, I may have it wrong. I do have to warn you in this one, there are triggers. There is a rape in this one, kidnapping, attempted murder and a murder. So if any triggers you, be careful. Ob/gyn Doss has wanted a family for a long time, but being told he’s sterile is like a death sentence for him. Who wants an omega who can’t have children. Well, he never expects to get his wish, but he does when a victim of rape comes in and he has to fix it. But misunderstandings cause problems between Doss and Landon before they can get off the ground. Doss thinking Landon is the bad guy, when he’s just the brother, had heated words coming out everywhere. But after Landon’s brother is fixed, things seem to be ok. Until the alpha comes back to finish what he started. And while this is going on, the stalker has delivered not one, but two bouquets. Doss doesn’t know the seriousness of it until he reads the cards, and he’s not happy. He knows he has to save Landon’s brother by providing a hiding place, but it’s just went into overdrive when he figures out who the one placing the flowers is. And now he may not be able to get to know Landon like he wants before he ends up dead. I kind of had the one figured out, because of the limp that Shale gave her. I just didn’t know her name. But now I’m not so sure about the main one. I still think I kind of know, but now I’m not so sure. The hard part for me, was trying to figure out how Doss got wrapped up in this. Because technically, he’s sterile and did nothing wrong, according to what the guidelines of the stalkers are. And he’s trying to help omegas with their pregnancies and such. But that’s where it went wrong, I guess. Instead of making sure they stay home, barefoot and pregnant, Doss is trying to help omegas have better lives. And Landon. He has no issue whatsoever in this game, unless it comes to his brother. Fortunately, they had a plan to work around that, so hopefully the stalker won’t show up on his behalf as well. But things are definitely twisted in this one. Really twisted. While kidnapped, Doss finds out some things, but it’s not enough to figure out who the main one is. So who knows what will be coming next. I just hope it’s not going to end up with someone dead or something. Because these stalkers are nuts. But it does make for a heck of a story and series.
Once again, the romance falls flat for me here, but everything else was pretty great, honestly. This time around we’re getting the story of Dr Doss Calloway, one of the obstetricians at Hart Medical Center and someone we’ve seen here and there throughout the series. He becomes the stalker’s newest victim but luckily he has the support of surprise love interest Landon to help him get through it. Their romance was extremely meh, although I guess they’re pretty cute together? But what really stole the show, and my heart, was Landon’s younger brother Breccan, who begins the story by being violently raped (as in ‘needs surgery for internal injuries and oh god so much blood’ violent, though we only see the aftermath it’s pretty brutal). My heart broke for Breccan and I just loved how his and Landon’s relationship was written. Landon raised Breccan after the death of their parents when Breccan was just three, and it’s clear that both men really have a close bond. I just really loved them. With better writing, I could’ve read a story just about them dealing with this situation with a romantic subplot, honestly. And while all that is going on, the stalker situation gets pretty wild with some revelations, some guns, and some kidnapping. We’ve uncovered the identity of the accomplice, and I’m pretty sure I know who the actual stalker is, next book is the finale where I’ll see if I’m right. So the romance was still blah, though cute at times, and everything else was pretty decent. (Trigger warning for rape and violence)
This is a nonshifter omegaverse romance with mpreg, it is the 7th book in the series and needs to be read in order. Doss can’t have children so he becomes an OBGYN to help others have babies. He meets his Alpha love when a man comes in the hospital having been attacked, he falls for the brother. But the stalker continues their rampage of omega-hate, someone dies in the process.
I am loving the suspense with each of these stories. I keep guessing who the stalker is and I hope my latest guess prices to be true! Does and Landon's love story served as a good addition to this ongoing mystery and I both cried and cheered for Landon's brother Breccan. I am really enjoying this series!
Another shocking chapter of the stalker at Hart's Medical Center, as well as, the great stories involving the main characters. The return of pivotal characters in the series created a more entertaining book. This was the poignant story with a terrible traumatic event bringing two quite different men together.
One blue collar working in construction while the other was white collar involved in the medical field. They have an attraction that can't be denied. Then the stalker pushed them closer and gave a safe haven to the younger brother raised by the construction worker. This is a poignant story with a terrible crime unprosecuted. Unfortunately the victim was an Omega in a society where parents can match their baby Omega children to an Alpha. Expecting them to mate when the Omega comes of age at eighteen.
There is violence, fear, anger, and deceit in the seventh story of this series. A series that just keeps getting better.
This book was brilliant i was shock of the outcome regarding the stalker. I thought they finally got the culprit only to discover their is two of them I cannot wait to see who the second one is.
Dr. Doss Calloway's has a busy life. He loves his job of delivering babies and helping omegas. When he’s called to the emergency room to treat a raped omega he jumps to conclusions when the omega’s, Braccen, brother barges in demanding answers. Alpha Landon has been raising Braccen sine their parents deaths when Braccen was only three.
Braccen was promised to an alpha name Yurick who took matters into his own hands after being refused Braccen’s hand by Landon. This is where Doss and Landon meet and Landon learns of the stalkers. In an attempt to keep Braccen safe they move in with Doss.
The stalkers begin rearing their heads and finally we find out at least who one of the stalkers is.
Intense and scary good. I liked that the story was not as focused on the couple in this one. There were a lot of moving parts that brought this story to life.
