Those Heartless Boys

Stone Jacobs must die.

Okay, okay. Maybe just maim him a bit. Peel off his perfectly chiseled handsome looks until he knows what it feels like to be normal. And while I’m at it, I’ll throw his friends in, too. They all deserve to be taken down.

I should’ve seen it coming. I should’ve felt it in my gut. The moment my treasure hunter father went missing, my arch enemies sprang into action. While I still reeled, they mapped out their twisted trail of retaliation. They planned their payback, finally acting on what they’ve always wanted.

Because grieving is the perfect time to blackmail someone in the Jacobs’ playbook.

Well, I have news for them. My back may be up against the wall now, but a Wilder will never bow to a Jacobs.

Never.

I didn't like the heroes and I didn't like the heroine. When I was mad in her behalf she was lusting over the heroes.

This story was One hell of a Ride which kept my Heart racing right to the ‘Wtf?!’ Cliffhanger End that had me Breathless.
I loved Dakota, Lucas! Fell for Wyatt, Stone slowly too.

#My 1st by E.M. Moore, you bet I'm gonna read more by her.

Dakota Wilder had gone through a lot as her Family's A outcast in her small town. She'd lived a sheltered life Due to her dad, & Now He's missing. Finding him, Losing hope, making ends meet, while also Studying (She's 2nd year in College).. She's so strong, Dealing with the worst Life has given.

Now Comes the Jacobs (+Friends) in her life(+College)..
Jacobs & Wilders are Archenemies in Treasure hunting, especially Now since this ‘long lost’ Treasure initially belonged to the Wilders.
She's Vulnerable, Alone..& The Rich Assholes use it to their advantage. Scares, Some bullying..A Proposition She had no choice but to accept: Money for Treasure's Info.
But She's smart: “You guys can't have my father's papers, but you can have me... I'll help you search for the treasure.”
~Maybe she'll find her Dad along the Treasure?~

Hence she becomes an Ally of Stone Jacobs & his friends-Lucas & Wyatt. Too bad Dakota's attracted to the trio.

Lucas: The Quiet observant one. My fav with His Sweet+Protective nature! 1st of the trio who's affectionate to her. She's closest to him. She's His ‘Wild Girl’.
Stone: The Assholish Sophisticated one. S+D have a Love/Hate relation. They banter as much as Their Sexual Tension. He's the 2nd one who ‘Staked his claim’ on her *Snicker*. He's Her ‘Stepbrother’ [Backstory ALERT!]
Wyatt: The Fun Jokester, Cowboy Wannabe. W+D slowly form a ‘Flirty’ friendship (His excellent Cooking helps!). She's His ‘Tits’ [Weird Nickname, huh?]

As the 4 form a team, it boosts her confidence & protect her from ‘Meanies’, AND opens her eyes to New Things.
Obviously she doesn't trust them, not at 1st. But through The Party, College, Home, Travels..They Care for her & her needs... Slowly winning her trust: 1st Lucas, Wyatt's 2nd, Stone's still on somewhat Rocky ground.

Each of them have their own Darkness & Pasts..
AND This Treasure hunting might just be a matter of Life & Death.
(Stone's Dad's a Prick!!)
..Hell, Someone Else is after this Treasure too..

Attacks, Secrets expose, Plan to make, Time Alone together..Feelings grow, Hot & Heavy times, Vulnerable moments, Rebels+Taunts..
Just when She'd started to trust Stone, His dad's true colors are exposed. Did he betray them?
..The Bad guys Underestimating her would be their last mistake..
How far Will she go For Saving those she Cares?

••The End scene was so ‘OMG!’ Such a hellish cliffhanger, I'm so excited for the next book!!••

P.S. There are no sex scenes with any of the trio here, Though with Lucas, it's damn close! The other two've Kissed her (& Something! *Wink*).
P.P.S. I hope we see A mountain ‘Searching’ Trip in the next Part!

I think that bully rh books are my guilty pleasure.

I honestly HATE the whole fall in love with your bully trope, but I can't seem to stop reading them. I don't know what's wrong with me. Maybe I have unresolved bully issues from my childhood? Who knows.

All that aside, what I really need to know though is: is the Cole that shows up in this book the same Cole that was in The Heights Crew series??

Ahhh mazing funny and the end?! I just about died in awe. I’m going to need the next book ASAP. Moore does it again!!!!

If you're into the male leads being uber dominant and unhealthily controlling, not to mention complete pieces of shit- then this might be the book for you. I, however, am most definitely not.

Things this book has:
1. Love interests that treat everyone like garbage yet the author tries to convince you they're actually nice dudes deep down. Like deep, deeeeeep down.
2. Characters that go to a college whose students all act like it's still high school. Petty, eye-rolling drama included.
3. All female characters but the MC is a bitch. Because of course.
4. Idiocies for the sake of the plot.
5. MC's personality is inconsistent.
6. She's also very easily swayed by a pretty face and a hard dick, to a point it's barf-inducing. Girl get some self-respect. She'll act all dizzy and swoony cause a hot dude touched, her no matter how much of a jerk he is. Standards are not even low, they're nowhere to be seen here.

Spoilers ahead...

Why would she believe a cryptic note that says she'll find her father if she finds the treasure?? OBVIOUSLY it's not from someone who has her best interest at heart, her only ally is Dickie or Dicky or whaterver. The only logical reason is somebody wants her to find the treasure so they can take it from her the moment she has it.
But girl is like, 'oh why yes, I must do as this message tells me! not suspicious at all! find the treasure, find daddy! :)' Dumbass.

So why did Wyatt almost run her over again? This is not addressed at all.

When Dakota learns the Jacobs are being threatened and Stone's mother might have been taken by the "bad guys" why doesn't she ask herself why she'd take all her father's money if that's truly the case? Logical thoughts who??

Why is she so hung up on not giving the mafiosos the location of the box, even under threat of DEATH, when at the beggining of the book she was willing to give it up just to stay in school and some money. It was established she hadn't been into the family legacy mania for some time and had distanced herself from her dad. But suddenly she'd rather risk losing her life and the lives of her only "friends" for this. Consistency who??

Why would she assume with ridiculous certainty that Stone was betraying her for his father instead of the very obvious explanation that Lance Jacobs was following his son? What would be the point of Stone acting shocked for her benefit by then? There would be none. But Dakota is so sure he's pretending. Using one's brain?? Not here, no ma'am.

But the dumbest shit? Unstead of giving the box to the Big Bad Scary Dudes With Guns, the box that contain important info to the location of the treasure but not everything according to Dakota herself, thus keeping everyone alive and the Bad Guys happy and not in need of terrorizing her anymore, effectively taking herself out the dangerous equation, happily knowing they probably wouldn't find her family legacy on their own anyway. What does she do? Huh, what does this moron do??
She informs them that, actually, SHE'S their map to the golden pot, because yes, let's make sure that you'll never be able to get away from the very dangerous situation you just had a chance to remove yourself from. The idiocy of it all, the dumbassery, I cannot- It makes me wanna see her lose it to them 'cause if you're this stupid after all you deserve it.

The 2 stars are for the engaging writing and the hot sex scenes.

Well what an epic journey that took me on my head is completely blown wow just wow.

In this book we meet Dakota who has just lost her dad while he went searching for the lost treasure. When the search is called off she see's Stone, Lucas and Wyatt.

When Dakota goes to college she finds out the three guys have joined her their and make her life even more hell. With many crazy twists and turns we see Dakota have to give up her knowledge of the family treasure. To then see the guys start to open up more to her especially Lucas.
They all go through a crazy journey together while they build trust to then throw you for a loop at the massive shocking ending. Totally didn't see it coming.
So with an epic and amazing storyline and such a strong female character with three hot sexy men too, what more would you want from a book.

“I am living every dorky girls dream right now”- Dakota

I freaking love Dakota she is hilarious with her witty inner commentary.. she’s also strong and isn’t afraid to say what’s on her mind.. she grow up tough and rough and parts of her story will break your heart .. she really needs a hug ... I feel like she is really going to come in to herself with the boys by her side !

“Instead of freaking out, why don’t we just see where this goes, Dakota Wilder? When I called you wild girl , I thought I was teasing but now I am wondering what else I can get you to do”- Lucas

Lucas Baby.. he’s like hot and sweet and had just a crappy of a childhood as Dakota.. when he starts showing Dakota how he feels I swooned all over my iPad..
he’s definitely my favorite right now...

“Boys with bite will give you everything you need and and everything you think you didn’t but do”-Wyatt

Wyatt is the joker, the cook, the ladies man but I think it’s just how he hides his truths, but they can’t deny they have just as much chemistry together too..

“I know what you’re doing for us. I intend to never make you regret this for the rest of your life, Dakota Wilder”-Stone

Stone and Dakota’s families make hate each other but they don’t hate each other at all.. not really.. Stone is the protector and he’s trying to do right by everyone .. I didn’t like him at first but he’s coming around..

Those boys may or may not have ulterior motives but they show her more love and affection than she has ever had .. she definitely got a lot of excuses for her dads neglect .. he put that treasure above her and that pisses me off.. so yeah parts Of this book broke my heart.. I felt all the feels and I can’t wait til the next book!!

I was not in the slightest prepared for this book. I went in without reading much of the blurb, because my faith in this author is strong and she didn't disappoint.

This book is different from what I've read by this author so far. We are taken on a treasure hunt with the FMC Dakota. Her family holds clues to a treasure and she grow up with her father obsessing over it. When her father disappears, it's up to Dakota to find her father and the treasure. Her family however isn't the only one determined to find the treasure. Other people are willing to do whatever it takes to get it all to themselves.

Insert Stone, Wyatt and Lucas...

The author managed to captivate me while reading, spinning this story in an effortless way that made me just go with the flow. I liked Dakota and the boys and how EM Moore does what she does best: create a solid foundation for character and plot development. There are little teasers that show there's a lot more than meets the eye and it made me salivate over this book.

The biggest surprise however, was the ending. HOLY GUACAMOLE! I did not see that one coming at all and I squealed (yes, you're reading that right!) in delight, while jumping up and down.

This is not your typical enemies to lovers type book. Nor is it one that I have come across before. My immediate thought after I finished was "what the heck did I just read and why did the words end?" Dakota Wilder has had an interesting life. Her father has been hunting the lost treasure for so long that he had forgotten the importance of taking care of his child. So Dakota is used to not having much in the way of material things. When her father goes missing, she immediately starts searching for him and even when the traditional search is called off, she still wants to know what happened to him. But she isn't going to let anything stand in her way of getting an education and getting out of the small town in which she was raised. I love how strong she is. She has been through so much, but she continues to fight her way through it. I also love that though the guys are rough with her at first, they almost crumble around her and become very protective of her. The cliffhanger at the end has me wanting more asap! I cannot wait to see what happens next in this series.

This series was recommended to my by my #cakeeater friend Si.

Another RH book by E. M. Moore. I did not expect it to have connection to the Heights Crew, but we meet Finn and Cole again.
The series was entertaining. And I enjoyed reading all three books one after the others and when I finished the series I got a great surprise: the series was free on Amazon, so on top of getting the books from KU I got them free from Amazon for my book collection. Thank you Mrs. Moore!

Wow I really enjoyed the mystery and suspense of Dakota's story. The Wilder family have been treasure hunters for generations and when her father goes missing Dakota has to do what she needs to, to survive and continue on with the hunt.
Stone, Wyatt and Lucas were nasty and heartless but they absolutely won me over as this story progressed. Full of surprises and shocking revelations I can't wait to read the rest of this series.

Wilders and Jacobs DO NOT MIX. That has been drilled into Dakota Wilder's head since she was a child. To say her father was obsessed with finding the Wilder Treasure would be an understatement. It's what he lived for and no way was he going to let anyone other than a Wilder find that treasure. When he goes missing on a hunt, Dakota jumps into action. It's just been her and her dad for practically her entire life. Well, her, her dad and the treasure. When the search gets called off, Dakota still refuses to give up. She still searches for her dad, hunts for the treasure and tries to finish school to get out of the small podunk town that despises her. With her dad out of the way, the Jacobs seem to be making their move. Using the Jacobs might be the only way to get the help she needs to find her dad but how much is she willing to give up? How far is she willing to go to keep the treasure to the Wilders?

This is the first book in a new series and man did it hook me in. I always love E.M.'s work. That's never a surprise for me. She's yet to write anything that I haven't just eaten up. But it was nice to see a new, different type of series. It has a bit of an Indiana Jones, National Treasure feel mixed with some Hatfields and McCoys. I don't think I've read any other RH with the treasure hunting plot, and I really enjoyed it.

Now this is a bully romance and these boys can be downright mean. Hello, feuding families. There are times when they can be genuine and real and just heartwarmingly sweet as well. There are moments where you get a look at what they are hiding inside and those are the parts that you hold on to and love.

Dakota is an interesting female lead. She's grown up without things. She's used to that. She knew they didn't have any money and her father did the best he could. She knew he was also focused on finding the treasure. She's also grown up in a town that doesn't like her. She's used to the insults. But when Stone, Lucas and Wyatt show up, she's not used to THEM seeing her that way. Them showing up is also making her have to face some truths she never thought of before.

I was thoroughly hooked into this book. Riveted to my seat to see what was going to happen next and then, y'all...E.M. killed me with that ending. Like I know this book is about the Superstition Mountains but damn Erin just through us off the cliff. It's kinda like a bus you see coming and you think surely it's going to stop before it plows over you but no, the damn bus just hits you head on and knocks you out of your shoes. What the actual....*breathe Anna* so yea, this book ends on a big ole cliffy that has me hoping like crazy that E.M. has already written at least half of the next book. I'm going to need this bad boy in my life pretty durn quick.

Absolute jaw dropper! I cannot get over how captivating this book is! Amazing writing that really makes you feel like you are living the book, being from the UK sometimes I just can't get into the setting if the book is based in the US but this was not the case at all. From the very first chapter I felt like I had been transported to Arizona and I loved it! The characters are written beautiful and I have fallen in love with all 3 guys already and I know they are going to be even better as the series continues ( I'm looking forward to some sexy cowboy scenes) I loved the fact that they are in college, most reverse harems I read are either still in high school or in there 30's and being 22 I feel like I get the characters just that little bit more.

I am a huge fan of EM and every time she comes out with a new series, I always say that this is my favorite, until the next one comes. Well I am saying it again. This book was awesome and has become my new favorite.

Dakota is our female lead. I really do not know what I think on here, except I do like her. She does seem a bit sheltered. She does not trust easily, and sometimes cannot see what is in front of her face. But I know that is how the story goes. She will get to where she trusts our boys eventually. They will have to fight for it, and I am down for when that happens.

The guys Stone, Lucas and Wyatt which you are going to want to love to hate them. Of course this is an enemies to lovers, so be prepared for that ride. There is more to these boys than what we have read so far and I need to find out more about them.

Overall the story was a solid one, with great characters, a killer plot of treasure hunting, fast paced and just down right good. I would very much recommend this series to anyone looking for a great book to read.

The opening of this story was a riveting grab- we find our heroine accepting the heartbreaking fact that her father has disappeared without a trace, like dead, after his most recent search. From there we find that there is a long standing feud between Dakota, our heroine’s family- a poor, salt of the earth, blue collar family with treasure hunting legacy and apparently some secrets, and Stone’s family- the proverbial nouveau riche of treasuring hunting who are also quite literally rich. Stone and his two best friends have always been a thorn in Dakota’s side, so when Dakota finds them enrolled at the local university with her, she’s suspicious. As she should be- she’s quickly sucked into Stone’s father’s greedy web- he’s still hunting the treasure and wants her family’s information, leaving Dakota with some hard decisions and caught in the grasp of Stone and his two buddies Wyatt and Lucas.

Dakota is a wonderful heroine and what I loved most. She’s resilient, stoic, and pragmatic. She’s got some fire, but she’s more subdued, calmer and more logical than some of EM’s prior firecrackers. We get enough back story to really feel connected to her emotionally- because we see the loneliness and insecurity that are really at her core. She’s also really clever- I love a sharp minded heroine. She’s not some naivety, and she’s learning to stand up for herself, but this is all understandable given how isolated she’s been her whole life, even if she was happy. And I loved her sharp wit.

This definitely felt different than the last series by EM Moore- so it’s great to see her stretch in a different way. The bully element was very short lived- so much so that I wouldn’t really classify this as a bully romance- we do have strong enemies to lovers vibes, since we have the feuding families. Personally, I appreciated these. These guys weren’t super likable until we moved past them doing a few bully-ish things, and that happened quickly as they pulled her into their little crew. And, while we clearly have the architecture of a reverse harem story line here, that dynamic is not yet in full action. Dakota certainly has a baseline chemistry with all of the guys- but we don’t have an overpowering sizzle with each of them just yet, nor anything beyond a budding attraction with some. We do get some sexy time here, most occurs with the one guy she clicks with the most so far. To be honest, the chemistry here hasn’t hooked me yet- it’s subtle, still more surface level- although we see glimmers towards the end of a more emotional connection between Dakota and some of the guys. I actually found myself wishing a few times this was a M-F romance -the other two men just really didn’t call to me in the way Lucas did, which is going to take some shifting in book 2 for me to see them all as part of the harem. This one may just be a slower burn when it comes to the chemistry of the harem. We had a lot of exposition and world building here, so perhaps that has to wait.

I was also surprised by how much the treasure hunting aspect played such a huge part of this story. And, I must admit, that concept has never been hugely interesting to me. EM Moore builds a strong world around it- this is some fantastic world building- the setting, the way Dakota talks, the small town infrastructure, the “hunting” mindset all weave together to create a pretty unique ecosystem for our characters to exist in. I think some will find that incredibly interesting, and EM has really woven this element into the fabric of this story. Personally, I need a little bit more darkness and grit to my mystery, and our twist at the end makes me think I might get it- but it took until then for me to be invested in the treasure hunting aspect.

The premise here is intriguing and we have some good bones- while this didn't’ grab me as hard as other series, the ending sure sucked me in hard and took this story to a place that I didn’t know it was going. Now I’m intrigued for book 2.

3.5 stars overall

I really enjoyed this new "Treasure" of a book book (pun intended) I knew I would but my high expectations were exceeded. Loved how different it is within its genres. Love the treasure hunting storyline with the competing families and that the bullying is only a small part with the guys before they join forces reluctantly on our fmc Dakotas part. So we still have that and enemies theme where it's ingrained to be adversaries from a young age with our fmc and one of the guys specifically. But they're all forced into this situation together to work together and live together and it makes for a fantastic story. I really like the other two guys as well one starts to stand out from the beginning which I really enjoy that there's one that she can kind of trust more at first and then builds with the others as well as the book goes on. But you still have that genre element at play it's very well-balanced. I enjoyed their being three guys so as the book went on you got more time with each. I really like all three guys as i said before one stand out and then you get more with the others. And more secrets and Mysteries are revealed more competition that poses a threat and danger to our main characters. I absolutely love Dakota she's an extremely likable female main character you know some fmc I like well enough or I'm kind of indifferent about, Dakota, I LOVE her I really enjoy her internal monologues and hearing about her childhood that's what makes E.M. such a great writer she weaves everything perfectly and where sometimes that can be frustrating it's not at all it's done perfectly. I enjoy her back story of how she grew up and is now experiencing things and seeking Adventure while trying to also keep true to her family and how she was brought up, figuring out how to balance that. Shes strong yet she was the outcast that got made fun of in school and even an outcast by her small town. So we kind of gets to explore that fantasy of what if everything got flipped around and this is a done perfectly. Like I can't tell you how much I love this story and every aspect of it, how everything it goes for, is perfectly executed. Every genre any storyline where theres a kind of trope is done perfectly. Yet it is so original. From the college, to the treasure hunt, to the relationships, the mystery of disappearances, and the mysteries of the treasure, this story is fantastic. This is my new favorite series there hasn't been a new series that has come out in a while of this caliber, it's been a lot of waiting for sequels books or reading books that have already been out. So this was so exciting to get so engrossed in and fall in love with a brand new series and it be one this caliber. I'm so excited for more. I hope we get lots of long books because I'm loving the story and loving the characters so much. I just enjoyed this read so much. When they go to the store out of town oh my goodness one of my favorite parts. Want to highlignt again that the bully and hard core enemies part wasn't overwhelming and didn't last long I prefer it that way light and not lasting too long yet the enemies theme is explored as the story goes on and the why and the building of the relationships. The story progresses really nicely for a first book which makes for super enjoyable read again it's so well-balanced. I found the main character really interesting and different and i loved her. Storyline was so original and unique for this genre and I love it. E.M. is great with taking genre and then putting her own spin on it. This book was able to cure a bad book hangover but after I finished it I have been in a very painful book hangover now. All i can do is re listen to some favs books and listen to stand up Comedy. Thats it, Its like E.M cured my book hangover and but then like put me in the hospital with a need for IV fluids when i finished lol🤣 Cheers to book hangovers because they're inevitable when you read these caliber of books you just can't until another book breaks at or enough time passes where or rereads. If your still reading spoiler alert great Cameo at the end hope to see more great twists. 6/5 stars.

Mature contemporary, college-age, enemies-to-lovers RH with a dose of bully, lots of mystery and secrets, and a treasure hunt! 🔍👑💰

Overall, I really liked it!! and I definitely will be reading the continuation of this series! (already pre-ordered book 2). EM Moore is a fabulous author. As with any new series, there's a need to establish the characters, world, motivations, etc., but it picks up and by the halfway point I could not put the book down and I was on the edge of my seat at the end. Speaking of which ... I loved the crossover character cameo at the end. I know who I'd be siding with 😅 but I'm very different from the FMC.

I found the underestimated FMC who's breaking out of her shell interesting, definitely a different character type from Moore's other books. At times, it felt like a lot of repetition of surface level stuff like her being poor and an outcast. It got better in the second half of the book when in the context of her life experiences and how that's shaped the makeup of her personality, insecurities, and outlook on life. This one definitely pulled the emotions out of me, and I appreciated when the Hs challenged Dakota on her viewpoint.

Minor Critique: I can attest to the power of the right hair products. 🧖‍♀️ But let's refrain from crossing into into "She's All That" (movie reference) cliché "OMG that girl is hot now that her hair is down" 🙄

Stone, Wyatt, and Lucas - holy hotness!!! 🔥🔥🔥 These Hs are like brothers and have grown up in a generational rivalry of Stone's family (the Jacobs) vs Dakota's family (the Wilders), but their history with Dakota is limited to what they've been told or rumored and glimpses of her over the years at a distance as their families hunt for the legendary treasure. When these boys show up at Saint Clary's University, Dakota doesn't understand why they're there or what they could be after.

"You don't know anything. That's the sad part, Dakota. You really don't know anything."

I wanted a bit more from the attraction and possessiveness of the Hs and h (both directions). The story is all told first person POV from the FMC, so we don't really know what is going through their heads. There are glimpses of something more there with each of them, that I definitely want to discover. Each of the main characters can be stubbornly prideful, but you get peaks of depth to them and sharing more in common than they realize. But for the most part it read like hot people attracted to each other on physical appearance or wanting to use her as an asset for her family's treasure knowledge. I appreciate hot characters with sexual chemistry, but it's not enough to get me to root for them.

He steps away, and my body immediately screams for him. I want to tell it to stop overreacting, but the truth is, I felt that kiss all the way to my soul.
💙💙💙

I'm enjoying the mystery to the story and eager to see that unravel. I look forward to seeing Dakota come more into her own and hopefully seeing more character depth and growth with the Hs in the next books as well.

**I received an ARC of this novel and I am thrilled to share my honest review. I had also pre-ordered the book because I love this author so much, and I've pre-ordered book 2.**

**ARC provided in exchange for an honest review**

Dakota Wilder’s father went into the Superstition Mountains looking for their namesake treasure and never came back. After filing a missing persons report followed by 3 days of fruitless searching, the police decide to call the search off. Refusing to give up, Dakota is left to search in her spare time until she can figure out what happened to him. To add insult to injury, when she heads back to her family home to update her stepmom, she finds her gone and their measly accounts emptied. Now not only is she alone, she’s also penniless. Her only saving grace is a full ride scholarship to Saint Clary’s University which grants her a meal plan as well as a place to live.

When she returns to school a few weeks later, she expects the bullying. It’s what she’s used to and has dealt with her whole life. Being the poor kid made her the butt of everyone’s jokes. What she wasn’t expecting was to find her stepbrother Stone Jacobs, along with his best friends Lucas Governs and Wyatt Longhorn in her school. Now she has to deal with them bullying her as well. Suddenly the game has changed and she’s facing danger from all directions. Forced between choosing to honor her family and being left with even less than she has now or partnering with the enemy. An outside threat forces Dakota to realize she only has one choice.

Dakota finds herself drawn to Stone, Wyatt and Lucas despite not wanting to be attracted to them. The chemistry between Dakota and the guys is off the charts. After spending time with them, she realizes that they may not be as bad as she initially thought they were. As their walls come down, she finds herself beginning to trust them.

Since this is a series, I expected a cliffhanger. The closer I got to the end, the more anxiety I had. I was trying to mentally prepare myself for it, but holy cow! What an ending! This Fearless Girl cannot come soon enough! I was sucked into the story from the beginning all the way to the end. I’d classify this book as more of a medium burn, but it felt true to their circumstances. As with the other EM Moore books I’ve read, this did not disappoint.

Sign me up for this treasure hunt!

I have always been a huge fan of treasure hunting. When I was a kid there was a year where my parents hid all of my birthday gifts and gave me clues to find each one in a scavenger hunt. *ah good memories * I also enjoy watching all of the shows about treasure hunting and uncovering old ships under the water.

So when I heard this book was all about treasure hunting I was beyond ecstatic! And let me tell you, this book did not dissapoint one little bit! Once I got into the book I couldn't turn pages fast enough. It is full of mystery and intrigue. We find some of the answers we want in this book, but I feel there is so much depth that we have barely scratched the surface.

Dakota is a rapidly developing character. She has lived such a sheltered life, hardly even leaving her house and when she does she has been bullied by the people in town. So it is no surprise that she is a bit timid at first. But by the end of this first book that girl has a bite to her that has me so excited to see how much more she will grow!

I loved each of the guys. They all have such a steam factor to them! And let me tell you, Wyatts hat had me wanting to put on my boots to find me a cowboy!! *fans self* Stone is that guy you love to hate. And Lucas steals your heart when you aren't expecting it.

That ending has me theorizing like crazy! I can't wait to read the next book to see where things go. This series is definitely a treasure of a find!

A thrilling, angsty start to this awesome series!
.
I didn’t want this to end! I was at the edge of my seat the entire time. Dakota is official my new favourite character. After everything she has been through she continues to push through. After her father goes missing she literally has nothing left and the fact she continues to fight for what she wants and strives for a better life she is nothing short of inspirational.
.
I love that this isn’t your typical enemies to lovers. This is different to anything I have read yet when it comes to this troupe and the treasure hunter aspect gives me Lara Croft, Indiana Jones, national treasure vibes and I’m here for it! The world of this book is so different and exciting, adventurous and is so mysterious we go along for the ride of a lifetime as we unravel the mysteries and secrets in the book as Dakota does as she searches for her father and the treasure.
.
The characters are awesome. I love how the guys are your typical a grade douchebags but you see them slowly unravel when it comes to Dakota. I’ve loved watching the progression and I can’t wait to see more of their dynamic and chemistry in the coming books. I hope we learn more about them also. I feel like there’s still so much more to unravel with the guys that im salivating for more.
.
That ending had me about dying of suspense and anticipation. I refused to acknowledge there were no more words to the book. This truly was a ride of epic proportions. I absolutely love Moore and the strong female leads she writes and crazy tension filled plots. She always has me at the edge of my seat and this one was no exception. I cannot wait for the next books in the series!

EM Moore has truly outdone herself in her newest series, Saint Clary's University "Those Heartless Boys". In this enemies to lovers, RH college romance the reader will have the heat of the desert as well as the heat from Stone, Wyatt and Lucas as the try to create a truce with Dakota.

Starting the series with the mystery of Dakota's father, local treasure hunter, who goes missing in the Supernatural Mtn range. The reader will have the suspense of the mystery, as well as the adrenaline rush of searching for a treasure that both the Wilder family and the Jacob family have spent so much time and effort searching for. Through the story we also watch as Dakota finally grows into a stronger female main character, showing she is not just "Blue's Clues",but a force to be reckon with in her small Arizona town.

The suspense, the loor of the mtns and treasure hunt as well as the sexual tension are all reason enough to grab the reader in Book 1, begging EM Moore to give us some answers after the shocking cliffhanger she leaves her readers with. But add in the sexy enemies of Dakota, all who seem to have their own secrets, just made me dig in deeper, not wanting this book to end. (even a little stepbrother trope is added too)

I highly recommend this new series as well as ALL books by EM Moore.

Absolutely 5 stars!!!
I wasn’t ready for this book but reading it I would have called it something like Sheltered Angel because I feel our girl, Dakota, is so clueless. I know she doesnt have a ton of experience outside her books, daddy dearest, that Mountain, or the guy she hooked up with but the signs are all there. I know she’s scared life could flip so easily but those boys by the end want her. It’s sad thinking about Stone finally getting her trust and then Stone’s heartless dad flips her thoughts so quickly.

Anyways... the story line was bomb, and I don’t think I’ve read anything like it. It will stay in my memory for sure and I’m salivating for book 2. I hope our “Wild Girl” will figure out what’s right in front of her. I hope her and Lucas finish the deed and bond closer over their similarities. I’m probably most curious to find out Wyatt’s past so I can understand his actions. Something definitely cracked in Wyatt so let’s see if his f boy attitude relaxes a bit. I hope our “BDE MAN”, Stone, doesn’t hate her now. I definitely hope Lance is truly dead because I might just pick up the gun for her if not.

I found zero errors which is a first, and if there was then there are very few. E.M. Moore is just one of those great writers who puts out quality work. Bravo girl! OH YEAH... DEFINITELY READ THIS BOOK!!! Won’t be sorry I PROMISE.

EM Moore has done it again ladies and gentlemen, she has given us a brand new series to salivate over!! Let me tell you, my excitement and anticipation are centered around the three yummy boys (Stone, Wyatt, and Lucas) and our heroine Dakota is going to have to survive them. Dakota is not equipped to handle these guys, or is she?? There is a history between the Jacobs and Dakota’s family, I won’t spoil anything but it’s all about the hunt for treasure in the Superstitions Mountains.

As we read on and the story develops we gain more insight into Dakota’s life and her hatred for the Jacobs. I found that as the story developed Dakota grew on me and I am looking forward to seeing her grow into the badass with claws I know is underneath all her sheltered attitude. She will definitely be a force to be reckoned with. I almost, key word-almost, feel bad for the guys for when that happens. The guys are utter perfection, you want to hate and love them all at the same time. Stone Jacobs has me all twisted and I am here for it!!

This was amazing start to this series and that last chapter had my heart racing, all hail EM Moore for that cliffhanger because I am dying to find out what happens next!!

Wow! Those Heartless Boys really AREN’T so heartless are they??

I went into this book now knowing how it was going to go because I’ve never read a book about hunting treasure that was also part bully AND reverse harem?? And let me tellll you, I was in awe of the way EM weaved this beautiful story (and also dying for the next one after that huge cliffhanger)

I usually pick favorite guys with my RH books. I mean cmon - we all do it right? But with THB it’s impossible for me to have a favorite because they all have different qualities and things they bring to the table, and together it really ties everything together and makes it so amazing that without one of them, it would not be complete! One second I was in love with Lucas, then Wyatt, and lastly - Stone! The way they all treat her once she’s a part of them is really wonderful and I thouroughly enjoyed riding this wave with all of them.

Dakota is easily one of my favorite female characters in a book she has been through so much and her remains strong, fearless, hopeful, and open to anything!

If you haven’t read this book yet, get on it right meow! You will not regret it, and then we can all be salivating for the next story after that cliffy!

Those Heartless Boys is my new obsession. With each new series, E.M. Moore raises the bar; she just keeps getting better and better. She’s a go-to author for me, and I know I can count on her stories to be well written and engrossing. This world she has created has sucked me right in. And Lord, can she paint a pretty picture. I’ve never been further west than Kansas (and I was four, so it hardly counts) and have spent most of my life in the southeast, but I can feel the desert dust in my mouth while I’m reading about Clary, Arizona. The lore of the Superstitions and treasure hunting theme is a new and interesting backdrop for me, and I am here for it.
Our girl Dakota has gown up sheltered and kinda naive of the real world outside the mountains she calls home. Seeing her growth and really showing that spine of steel she kept hidden was awesome.
Stone, Lucas and Wyatt are the boys you love to hate to love. They all have some history I can’t wait to see unravel, and Wyatt is every cowboy fantasy I’ve ever had, times 5. The heat in this story isn’t just from the desert, y’all.
The ending left me breathless, and I know it’s gonna feel like forever until the next book hits my kindle. I can’t wait. An epic start to another unforgettable series!
