A heartwarming fantasy fiction...
Exceptional: An Amazing Story of a Dog Named Salli by Larry Morris is a nicely written and heartwarming story about a pitbull dog who was rescued as a puppy and taken in by a loving family.
The book description gives a sneak preview: ‘A dog rescued from certain death becomes a loving family pet. However, the family quickly realizes that this dog possesses special abilities that confuse and amaze them and others, including professionals trained in this area of animal behavior. Her special perception abilities soon lead the family into a series of exciting and heart pounding adventures that will leave you breathless and wanting more. The conclusion will reveal the true love this dog has as she trades wits with a truly detestable and sordid individual bent on causing harm to her family. I have no idea whether any part of the story is based upon fact; however, if it wasn't, it is certainly written as if it could be. Stranger things have happened! Recommended reading – especially for all dog lovers.

The moving tale of a dog that we would all love to own.
When Doug found a dead Pitbull dog alongside the road where he was taking a walk and then rescued the only surviving puppy, he never realized what an exceptional dog she would become. They named her Salli, with an “I.” From the beginning, she proved unusually obedient and willing to learn. But when she saved children’s lives, including a daring rescue of a child from a burning house, they knew that she was exceptional. After also saving his marriage, Doug and his family learned that she possessed a strange sixth sense, as well as an unusually high intelligence. Tests performed on her by a specialist confirmed that she was truly an exceptional dog. However, her true abilities came to the fore when the family faced a subtle attack by a ruthless conman and a murderer. Her uncanny abilities and selfless courage saved them from irreparable harm and loss that he would have caused them. It was after this harrowing incident, when they had settled back into a normal routine as a family, that they learned the possible source of her gifts, and they were forced to accept the unpleasant fact that her stay with them would not be as long as they would have liked it to be. This is a heartwarming story that will appeal to dog lovers in general, however, it is fiction and certainly a bit far fetched, at times. The story appealed to me in much the same way that stories about humans with super para-normal abilities do, although it will not appeal to readers who are not dog or animal lovers. But if you love these furry friends of ours, this is a heartwarming tale to read. There are a few instances of explicit language and graphic scenes, which means that it is not wise to share it with children or younger teens. However, this absorbing story will leave a warm glow in the heart of adults who love their pets and all animals.

Exceptional: An Amazing Story of a Dog Named Salli by Larry Morris is a heartwarming story about a dog that was rescued as a puppy and taken in by a loving family. As a pitbull, Salli has a lot going against her, preconceived ideas about the breed might mar her personality and negatively impact her family. But as you read along you discover that Salli is not a typical dog, and she earns the trust and love of her family and those around her. There are so many delightful anecdotes of how she endears herself to everyone, you can't help but love this dog. The story is written in a straightforward, familiar kind of way, appropriate to the story itself, and the amazing talents Salli has makes this story quite appealing. With a touch of magic, this book will stay in your mind a long time after finishing it; highly recommend.

I loved this tender story! I love dogs and any tale that involves them, this could not be the exception. Salli has been rescued when she was about to die by a loving family and the tables were turned. She became a special dog who everyone started to love and care about.
The author has been able to portray the dog in a tender way and has managed to write the sequences of events in a magical way.
The story may fall into the category of fiction or mystery and has been penned in the third person,
but there are also dialogues that appear among the pages, what makes the story more vivid. Even though the story is fictional, any type of dog may act in a similar way as Salli. I absolutely loved her!

Exceptional: An Amazing Story of a Dog Named Salli by Larri Morris is, as the title says, an exceptional story about an exceptional dog. Salli is a pitbull puppy that is discovered by Doug and together with his family decided to rescue her. Thoughout the book Morris describes the many different events and situations that make Salli a different yet amazing dog.
I have to say that I found this book to be a rollercoaster of emotions. It made my cry, laugh and love my dog even more than I already did. The amount of love I was able to perceive from these chapters warmed my soul. The reading is very easy to follow and the characters are very relatable to real life. I know this is a fiction story but it felt real to me in many ocations. This is a 5 of 5 stars!

I totally loved all the books written by Larry Morris, but in my opinion “Exceptional” stood out the most.
Anyone who has ever had a dog will empathize with Salli, an animal rescued from a certain death. The adventure begins when her owners realize that she has special abilities. She is unique!
This is a definite must read book for the entire human race! To experience and understand Salli's purpose in life might not only help us appreciate our loyal animal companions more, but each other as well! I did not know it would be humanly possible for me to love my dogs more than I already do, but after reading this book, that changed a hundred times more.
I highly recommend this book since it is a great reading to kill time.

Books where animals are the main characters always have a special place in my heart. Exceptional: An Amazing Story of a Dog Named Salli by Larry Morris is one brilliant book that highlights the dog character named Salli. She was rescued by a loving family when she was about to die. Luckily when she survived, the family adapted her and she instantly became their apple of the eye.
I found the story so adorable and totally relatable. We have a dog at home and he is equally adorable as Salli. This book surprised me as Salli was introduced as a pet with an exceptional, out of the world ability. It was a one of a kind story and there were unforgettable moments that I adore. I know that kids would truly enjoy this. I highly recommend!

As the title suggests, this novel is exceptional. There aren’t many novels about dogs and when I find one I feel immediately attracted to it as I am a dog lover. In this case, Salli is the canine that has captured my love and attention.
Salli is a pitbull that was rescued as a puppy by a caring and loving family. Soon, we learn that Salli is special. There are some amazing anecdotes between the family and the dog that make this novel touching and appealing.
It’s a heartwarming tale that is written in a clear and straightforward way, perfect for all kinds of audiences. I am sure this amazing story will stay in my heart for a long time. I really enjoyed reading it.

When I saw this title I was curious to see what this story was about so I gave it a try, and to my surprise, I liked this fiction very much.
Author Larry Morris created a unique story with a dog as the main character. Salli is a very special dog who was about to die when a family rescued her. To the family’s surprise Salli possesses special abilities.
In my opinion, the descriptions of the scenes are very vivid and very well described. The plot is, in my view, extremely original. This fiction leaves a teaching: adopting dogs can be a wonderful experience, not only for the dog, but also for oneself.

BADLY NEEDED AN EDITOR!
The misspelled words, grammatical errors, and misplaced punctuation just in the first couple of pages almost made me stop reading in utter disgust, but I like dogs and dog stories. I’m glad I didn’t pay for this one at least, as it was a bit too fanciful even for me and should more properly have been placed in the category of fantasy or perhaps science fiction as its ending suggests.

Close to my heart.
So many emotions and great memories of my best friends. I've been blessed with many exceptional dogs in my life. All of them came into my life by doing what I've done since I was 5 years old. Help them. Drove my parents crazy. Pit bulls have always been a large part of dogs I have found abandoned. I'd mostly get them healthy and test their personality temperament. Then find good homes. They are exceptional. This is a must read. Wonderful story.
