Rissa Gates did something totally out of character for her…she spent the night with a strange man she met in an elevator. An amazing night with a gorgeous blue-eyed cowboy. A night that left her hoping for more especially after her love life came to a bitter end and she sees her sisters in happily-ever-after bliss.
Jaded by his family’s unlucky relationship history, Reece Maddox swears never to get serious about a woman or fall in love. He rarely sees one woman more than once but then he meets a beautiful woman and after one incredible night with her, he cannot get her out of his mind. Not knowing her name or where she lives only makes it more frustrating.
One snowy day, fate throws a twist into both their lives when Reece walks into the local diner and discovers the unforgettable woman standing behind the counter. Dreaming of her cowboy nearly every day, Rissa fears she will never have the love she wants, especially after she discovers he is Reece Maddox—confirmed bachelor. Or is he? What happens when destiny brings two people together for one night and it turns into something more?

Did you ever read a character in a story that you would love to reach inside and smack upside the head? Well, Reece is that one for me!! Don't get me wrong, I absolutely loved this story but Reece is one stubborn cowboy and he's determined to do everything in his power to not fall in love. But one night with a mysterious woman sets his heart on fire and he can't get her out of his mind! Rissa is trying to get over and get away from her abusive ex so one night with a cowboy of her dreams is something she falls head first into. Months later she still can't stop thinking about him so imagine her surprise when he shows up at the diner she works at. Neither can resist themselves but while Rissa hopes it leads somewhere, Reece is still being stubborn and won't admit to being in love. Danger is still lingering around for her but will Reece finally be the man to help her out? I love the back and forth between Rissa and Reece. Their connection was off the charts hot And I really loved seeing all the guys and gals from previous books float in and out. Anytime I need a hot, steamy western romance, Ms. Davis is the first person I think of. Loved the book and I can't wait for more!!! I want all the cowboys! LOL

Plot with ex boyfriend too much but pleasant read.

Light hearted like all th others in the series, but I did think the plot with the ex boyfriend was too much. I couldn't find it creditable that a girl's father wouldn't step in, but he and the mother seemed to fade from the story.
It is the turn of 'love them and leave them' one night stand only, Reece. He has vowed never to commit and does not believe in love after his parents have had eight marriages between them.
Rissa is the sister of Deidra from the previous story. She has moved to Clifton, Montana along with her parents and is working for her aunt in the diner. There she comes face to face with a cowboy she had a one night stand with months earlier...Reece. The had not exchanged names or details of where they lived and he accuses her of following him. They obviously get off to a bad start. Also Nolan, her ex boyfriend who has verbally abused her, turns up to make the situation for Rissa worse.
I did find the inner thoughts of the main two characters repetetive, but all in all it was a pleasant read.

I loved the characters of Rissa and Reece!!

I especially loved their first meeting in the elevator. It was fun and flirty and it was fun to watch Reece squirm from the other woman's attention.

I adored the character of Reece. While he was very hard-headed about certain things, he was a standup guy. He was someone you could count on and that family matters. I really like his friendship with Preston but with the other guys also.

Rissa is a woman you can't help but root for. She is friendly, outgoing, and has a great family unit. It broke your heart when you could hear her inner dialog in the beginning about how desperate she wanted what her sisters had. She was happy for them but she wanted that also.

The storyline around her ex was hard to read. He was a man who wasn't going to let Rissa go but luckily, she has a great group of people who have her back and willing to go to bat for her.

Reece didn't believe in love, at all!!!
Rissa wanted a man to love her just like her sisters had. She moved to Clifton to get away from Nolan but he followed her there.
Reece can't stop thinking about the woman he met in Helena and spent the best night of his life. She was gone in the morning though. Rossa was so hurt that the man she spent the best night of her life with never called her.
Rissa can't believe her cowboy is in the diner. At first, he accused her of following him. He has told her now that he wants to see her, but sex only.
Can Rissa prove to him that love is worth everything? Will he wake up before he loses her for good?

Love Is Not Scary

You have another woman fighting for love. This may be a story but love is scary. Men and women run until it catches them. You books are so romantic. The characters are so involved with love and how the get a person to love them. You make the characters come to life. You cry a really feel bad for them . I can read you books forever.

Review

One night in Helene I met a cowboy in an elevator and lost my heart. He was so sexy and invited me to his room. I had never had a one night stand but for him I was willing.
I left my name on a scribbled sheet of paper on the dresser but never heard from him until he walked into the diner where I worked.
Enjoy
