Rate this book
Phoenix’s darkness has been let out containment. He’s tasted submission again, and he’s not willing to turn it off. Problem is … not just any woman will do.

Harlow has managed to be the only woman to conquer Phoenix. He gave her a glimpse at his brand of kink, and she opened her mind to the possibilities …

He won’t beg. He won’t chase. If she knows what’s good for her, she will keep running.

Re-read? NO

"The fact that I fucked Sasha set us back tremendously."

A heads up that I'm going to leave the same review for all three books in this series, I didn't find any of the books to be better than the other they were all disappointing.

Firstly, Phoenix is horrible. He is an arrogant asshole who only cares about sleeping with random women and even has rules about what he'll do with them depending on their attitude. He's disgusting. Does he change his ways after he meets our heroine? As you can tell by the quote above, no, no he doesn't. This is before the guy even has a record contract and is just playing local clubs. Sure there is an interesting twist in the story but not enough for me to not hate him and hope that he gets a venereal disease and his penis falls off.

Then we have poor stupid stupid stupid Harlow. This girl, ugh! I genuinely feel bad for her about what happened in her past but she needs to grow a spine. She runs around sniffing and Phoenix's heels. Get yourself some self respect girl. How many times can this guy play hot and cold with you and sleep with other women and have you right there waiting for him?

Honestly just horrible characters that made the story unbearable. The only reason I gave it two stars instead one one was because it was relatively well written I suppose. I will never touch this series again and don't know if I'll read anything else from this author ever. Don't walk from this book. RUN!

Glorifies cheating and rape

This guy is not a hero, he’s a basic douchebag. This heroine is doing everything to please him (changing her entire life to be what HE needs). He’s still pulling the “no labels” thing so that he can screw many other girls. Just childish and basic. Beta hero for sure.

The fact that this is what the heroine says about herself and the guy who can’t stay faithful and her brother just destroy her self confidence says everything you need to know about this series...

“No, Lil. He’s right. Me spreading my skank ass legs is what caused all this. I mean, who can blame Phoenix for any of this? He is, after all, a guy, and it’s normal behavior for a guy to fuck around. I should have thought about the repercussions of my actions on the band and acted accordingly for both of us. We both knew the consequences, which is why we kept it a secret. Still, I should have been the one to say no, right?”

S.R. Watson and Ryan Stacks weaves a story of angst, explosive chemistry, suspense, turmoil, unexpected twists and turns, heart-wrenching moments, and plenty of steam in the second book of Phoenix Rising.

I volunteered to review an advance reader copy of this book.

Another Cliffhanger

I promised myself no more series unless all have been released but here I am once again. It's been a looooong time since I've had a crazy page turner. I need to know yesterday the outcome of Phoenix' confession and I will flip out and change this review to a lower rating if Harlow doesn't unleash on him because where is her backbone??? She is not as strong as a heroine that I normally love but this story has me with no sleep (years since that's occurred). 4•s just for that.

Harlow, well, screw that Phoenix left her to imagine the worst when she stumbled on Sevyn and had no idea of the games he plays so his BS that she left him? Really?! He has zero accountability? None?! She let him off the hook easy but he's devastated by her?! Nope, not gonna have it, she'd better get some serious backbone here, and sober, not like when she went off on her drunk rant (hysterical btw to Ivy). I NEED more of the strong heroine that she's capable of. Hello?! Is she ever going to tell Phoenix what she's been through?

I hope this is a 3 book series because the angst here is over the top. Phoenix, in addition, screwing anyone with Harlow near is enough already, it's too much now. Borderline desperate, teetering on the doormat side.

Triggers and warnings should be all over the synopsis. Family sharing (gag) etc. Full disclosure, normally had that been revealed i wouldn't have touched this but I'm intrigued and sickly cheering Phoenix and Harlow's HEA. Yes, HEA & not HFN because that will lower my rating too after all this angst, manwhoring, sharing and cliffhangers. Dark, sick and twisted comes to mind here. Lol but it is so addicting, I'm so hooked to their story. I haven't been this into a series since Twelve Months by Gadd if you haven't read it, Jamison, well, yum rockstar book legend.

Whew, finally I can get some sleep! What a rollercoaster ride.

Outstanding truly outstanding!!!!!!
Okay I honestly don’t know where to begin with this book it is an outstanding read. we were left on a cliff hanger from the first book and what would you know we’re on a cliff hanger at the end of the second book!!!! I really don’t know how much I can say because I really dont wanna give anything away for you guys. But to say that Phoenix and Harlow are still like two magnets that can’t keep away from each other but when trust is lost it puts everything up for question there’s new people popping up so many twists and turns that you just won’t know what’s going on. We hear more about what the big secret is between Phoenix and his brother and that is something you are not gonna wanna miss I didn’t see that coming at all. And now I am sat here on the edge of my seat because I wanna find out what happened how could you leave us with that ending honestly edge of my seat !!!!!!!
We need book 3 and we need it now pretty please

Holy crap! This book takes you on a whirlwind. It’s book 2 in the Pretty Boy Rock series, you need to read book 1 to understand this book, but it’s well worth the read I absolutely promise you that.

The amount of angst in this book will keep you turning the pages and reading as fast as you can because you need to know what happens next. The chemistry between Phoenix and Harlow is absolutely off the freaking charts. The emotions that they bring you are a multitude of amazingness, you will be happy, sad, confused, angry, and left with your heart in your hands.

Absolutely loved this book. Cannot wait for the 3rd one! Starting it next.

These authors are fireee! 😍
Without a doubt 5 stars ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I enjoyed the last book and couldn't wait to read this but in this book phoenix irrated me the way his was treating Harlow, I know they won't together but the things he did was dam right cruel and know, how much you want someone I wouldn't be that desperate for him, I understand the story alot more regarding phoenix and his brother but I still can't get over the way he was with Harlow she do desearve the way he's treating her, I love lily and her Harlow bestfriend irelyn and just wondering how the author going to finish this story now and I hope Harlow gets, her happy ending

I was so happy that Harlow and Phoenix were finally together at the end of book one, only to be pulled apart again. Starting this book, I wanted to bash some heads together. Even though Phoenix had feelings for Harlow, he was such a douche. Every time he treated her bad, he's then have a change of heart and treat her good. The running hot and cold was nerve racking. I loved them being together and was heart broken for Sevyn. He deserved better and there was never any redemption for him or and HEA. I felt things were unrealistic as far as why they just didn't talk in the beginning and hash things out about Sevyn. We could have still had conflict and turmoil after that.

I love the cover of this book it looks like the front of a rockstar magazine it’s very clever of these two authors to do that, this is my absolute favourite genre rockstars, bands etc and this is the continuation of Phoenix’s and Harlow’s story. Things aren’t going well for these two especially after what Harlow found out but they just can’t help the pull that they have to each other. Sorry guys no spoilers and there’s a cliffhanger nooo!!, I can’t wait until issue#3 comes out and I definitely recommend this book.

Book 2 is just as in your face as the first. I was in awe over the ending of book 1.

Harlow and Phoenix are back again and have an even deeper dive into the ocean of fame, family, money and forbidden love.

I am so in love with this series. Rockstar suspense, gut-wreching moments, characters you will scream your lungs out over and unexpected twists. I can't wait for what's going to floor me next. I received an ARC for an honest and voluntary review.

As the story continues Harlow is back on with the band trying to learn to forgive Phoenix and his brother. We learn why the twins are doing what they are doing. Things between Harlow and Phoenix at times are strained but they cant stop the magnetic pull they have for each other. This does leave with a huge cliffhanger and I can not wait for issue #3 to come out.

This is an intense and captivating series. The cliffhangers are going to be the death of me. The emotional roller coaster these characters embark upon is page turning. This gifted writer almost makes you feel the emotions, feel the crowd of hungry women, and can identify with the sexual cravings Harlow is experiencing. Phoenix and Sevyn are playing a dangerous game.

This is an amazing series so far! So many twists and turns for Harlow and Phoenix and you hope that they can make their way to a HFN or a HEA. Their relationship is so stormy yet full of chemistry and they are really good together. This book is entertaining and so riveting that I can't stop reading! I can't wait to see what happens next!

What a thrill ride! Will they won't they get together? Angst driven from the start to the Mic drop ending. Poor Phoenix has so many betrayals in his past and they just keep coming. Secrets come out to ensure that life in the road is far from calm. Syven finally meets the band but their long running plan may blow up his life too. Harlow on rollercoaster ride going from tears to hit at Phoenix's whims. Loved the mic drop ending.

Quick read but left me frustrated. For someone who claims to be always in control and a Dom, Phoenix sure does fuck up a lot.

Phoenix did grow on me slightly towards the end when he seemed like he was making some progress. And I can’t even fault him for what he did at the end of the book.

Also, how naive can Asher be lol

What a rush! The relationship between Phoenix and Harlow has its ups downs and in-betweens. Their story and hot and filled with so much emotions that you can't wait for it to end but you are not ready for the drama to be over. But the ending will leave you hollering.

Harlow and Phoenix have a tumultuous relationship but the twists and turns and everything that goes on, just kept me glued to the screen and I couldn't stop reading. It's somewhat dark and crazy at times but the chemistry and pull is amazing.

Hate cliffhangers but at least this was a duet and the rest of the series is about the other bandmates. Again, I love that the covers resemble a magazine cover. I had trouble liking the male lead in this story. Not that I'm a prude but he was too promiscuous for my taste.
