Sacred Vow was the fifth book in the Angels Halo MC Next Gen series by Terri Anne Browning. The series was a spin off from the original Angels Halo MC series, but can be read as a stand-alone series.
Maverick Masterson was one of the triplets from Spider and Willa (book two, original series). River Hannigan was the daughter of Colt and Kelli (book seven, original series). Maverick and River had been together since River was fifteen (Maverick, nineteen) but kept their relationship a secret until her eighteenth birthday. Maverick was a patched MC member and knew the consequences of “off limits.”
I loved their story and their loyalty. They were steadfast and true. There was conflict, but not in the way you’d expect. I also loved the involvement of the entire MC family; true to form, they made great secondary characters. All in all, it was a quick, fun and enjoyable read. Max is up next in Her Shelter and I can’t wait!

Mav e River foram perfeitos juntos.
A promessa de almas gêmeas da segunda geração que foi zero defeitos, eles apenas elevaram as expectativas para Nova e Ryan.
Confesso que Colt foi uma surpresa, principalmente se olhar para o que ele fez para o Mav na reta final, diria que para o que ele fez ele sequer foi punido. Só lamento que ele conseguiu piorar a imagem que ele limpou após o que fez com a Kelli.
Agora sobre a revelação do par do Max, PQP, estou nas nuvens de felicidade.

My rating: 3 1/2 stars.
What I liked: I loved River(h) and Maverick(H) relationship and how they were both each others first. I also really liked how they trusted each other with no doubts (even after seeing what she saw, she knew he would never do that without someone doing something to him)
What I didn’t like: I didn’t like how Colt handle their relationship. You would have thought since he was Spider’s son that he would have been happy for them. I would have liked to have read what happened after River left when she confronted her dad about hiring the two girls to set up Maverick. He really needed his a** kicked.
How hot was it: 2 out 5
Triggers: River’s dad sets up Maverick to look like he is cheating on her with two chicks. Also, River suffers a miscarriage
Final thoughts: This was just an ok read. Something was missing for me.....I think I needed more of them and less of everything else. I definitely will continue to read the series.....I especially can’t wait to read Max’s book and Nova’s book.

More than just a promise❣️
Sacred Vow is the next book in the Angels Halo next gen series and is a great read. Focusing on Maverick and River, they’ve been secretly dating for years and hope to reveal their relationship at her 18th birthday party….hopefully without blood shed🤔
Suffice to say a lot happening in this book with all the characters, not just Mav and River but also some unexpected things happening that come out of left field - but make the story that much more enticing😍
Looking forward to the next book in this series❤️

I found this to be a little slow. I did a lot of eye rolling. I feel bad because I love this authors books. Nothing angst worthy happened until 70% and then it was quickly resolved. I will give the next gen books another go but then I may stop.

Honestly, I'm struggling how much stars to give it. It has something I absolutely love, but also something I'm confused and lost with.
First of all, I loved River and Mavericks relationship. That's so priceless and beautiful. Theirs thrust to each other... I absolutely love that.
Though, I have to confess, there was a couple of things, I didn't liked with River choices. At least at the beginning.
But what completely throw me, is Colt. I get, that he may feel a bit too protective over his daughter, but the way he reacted, was over the top. And the sh¡t he pulled... That was... Cruel and heartless. And his excuse for it, make no sense to me. Did I missed something in previous books, for Colt to think that? Because seriously I'm clueless. Maverick is every parents dream for theirs daughter.

So the original series is awesome and pretty fun to read. But I think the author needs to find some new creative energy. Because putting a pregnancy in every single book for girls who are still teenagers is not creative at all.
And why does she make us hate her previous heroes and heroines? It doesn’t make sense at all. I don’t want to hate the previous Gen. They where my favorite ones, and I don’t know why she wants to ruin a hea like that.

I feel like I’m home from being away for awhile when I read one of these books. I always miss the OGs but Terri is killing it with these next gens. As much as I want more I do know they are meant to be fast reads. I do enjoy them. I usually hate the quick build up and fast close but I guess I just expect it with these books so it doesn’t bother me. Anyway let’s get into it.
We get to know more about River (Colt & Kellis daughter) and Maverick (Spider & Willas son). We see them in the other books a little bit but now it’s their time to shine. A girl with Kellis craziness and a boy with Spiders intense nature? Yep. I’ll take 2. These two were destined to be at a young age. There relationship grew from friendship to love real quick. I loved how Mav was very protective like Spider in a way but still reasonable like Willa. I do believe they were a great match. Colt though? I was very disappointed in his behavior. I’m glad it was resolved but still. Very disappointed in him. Kelli’s little Sherlock Holmes work was not touched on a lot but I am excited to see what happens with that. Terri ended us on a sort of cliff. She likes to do that build up for her next books at the end of her books and it kills me every time. Waiting is so hard in the first place but then she does this to me? She is testing my patience left and right 🤣. Safe to say I’m excited for Max. Ravin and Bash’s son is going to be epic.

In this book we get River Hannigan and Maverick Masterson's story. These two have been a couple since River was 15 now that her 18th birthday is almost here it is finally time to tell the dads. River is scared though not only does she have to tell her dad that she is dating she might have to tell him something else. On the night of her 18th birthday though all she wants it to keep the man she loves alive. She can't believe how much her father doesn't know her after all this time. The color of the cake is wrong, the flavor of the cake is wrong and he won't even consider her to be able to date. Maverick is determined to have and hold River till he takes his last breath on this earth. So on her 18th birthday he has every intention of asking her dad for her hand in marriage instead he asks to date her since her dad won't even consider him. He knows he will do anything for his girl other than give her up. Will they get the HEA they are both longing for or will Colt Hannigan make that impossible for his daughter?
This is another hit out of the park by this author. Yes it has its ups and downs I really want to tell you about. However I don't want to ruin the story for any other readers. I will say this book will have you on the edge of your seat from the first word to the very end. I would highly recommend it to anyone and everyone.

Okay,I think I finally clicked. Why this next gen series feel so off. It’s because there’s no build up, no sense of a journey. Even if you ignore the insta love, there’s no beginning part of each couple. All we get is a couple of sentences of owe knee each other since birth due to everyone knowing everyone and bang love” and then Terri skips over reintroducing us to each character. She tired to test this in the earlier books, but everyone hated it because it made her books clunky and now there’s not enough background. She needs balance and the easiest way to do this, which I recommend, is by starting an entire new world where everyone doesn’t know everyone.
She’s built a great world, but it collapses onto itself when it’s too much and there’s years of gaps where characters like colt make such drastic moves to give climax to a plot. Otherwise there’s no other reason for such a character such as colt to do such a thing in this book.
Terri: if you reading this review, start a new series not tied to the rockers or the mc series. Start fresh, change the time period or the age of the character. Do stand-alone and then jump into another series. You have the formula but the characters are bland and the boom bang boom is gone in your stories.

Maverick and River had been seeing each other for years but have had to keep it a secret because her father would be against it.
When she turns 18 Mav planned out how he was going to ask him if he could start dating her. Without any hesitation he flat out refuses him. Then from there all hell breaks loose.
The lengths that Colt went to, to break them up was so far out of line for a father who professes to love her. Then when he is found out to be behind the set up uses the excuse that he though he was be pranked about how Mav really felt about his daughter. The excuse didn't fit the actions that he made.
Then when River ask that she get to be the one to dole out her dads punishment and the MC President lets her do it. Fine not a problem but then the next day Mav sets it up for her to forgive her father. NOPE! Why the whole song and dance if you are going to go and forget it in less than 24 hours?
This series has so much potential and except for one story out of this series has been nothing promising. I hope this isn't a insight to this author's future work.

Happy Release day!!! I’ll leave my #spoiler thoughts for the other FB page, I’ll just say so worth the midnight reading!!! Terri Anne Browning weaving all those past, present, & current generation (Next Gen books/novellas in the works) characters always has me in awe of her storytelling to give us readers (at least me) thoughts on other possible character books/novellas excited anticipation!!! From the initial #bookcoverreveal announcing River & Mav’s story with the vagueness of the book blurb, had this release day/book in the back of my mind on what the “unknown” could/would be. I’m excited to say, it left me with all the #feels whenever l read her books. From the glimpses of how the other characters in her crossover universe are doing and all that I’d hope their story would be, from the surprise twists, like the pairing for Max at the end with a book ETA, was amazing!!! Now the wait for Nova & Ryan in June 2021!!!

I was pulled into this book right from the get go, staying there until I had read every single word that was written. While reading I had my mini movie playing along in my head.
There are twists, turns and surprises waiting for you within the pages of the story. Some of the surprises you may see coming, while others you won't. Some are large while others are small, some may pull on your heart strings, while others may hit you square in the face. Each and every surprise holds equal importance within the story.
The emotions that the characters go through can be felt, I actually went through the emotions along with the characters. There were a few times that I would of loved to reach into the book and punch them. I'm happy to say that by the enđ of the book they had redeemed themselves.

River and Maverick finally get their story. Oh boy!! River Hannigan, daughter of Colt and Kelli Hannigan, and Maverick, son of Spider and Willa Masterson, have been dating since she was fifteen years old. Most of the MC Moms and their cousins know and so do their Dads (or suspect it). However, Colt doesn't seem to know. He's that clueless. Anyways, we're entering their story a few weeks before River's 18th birthday and her high school graduation. As you read the first pages, you already know drama has begun. After all, we're dealing with the Angels Halo MC! I absolutely loved their story. Not as much violence as other stories, but that's okay. There is plenty of drama and angst to deal with for River and Maverick. Unfortunately, I really did want to punch Colt. Goodness!
I can't wait to read Max's story next. I suspect that one will be filled with more drama and violence.

Finally out
This was Maverick and Rivers story. It was a good story but in the beginning introducing Delaney and the sketchy things Kelli was doing along with the intertwine of Nova and Ryan then nothing. They took away from Maverick and River. I hated how Cole was acting and what he did. I think it was good how the MC Brothers allowed River to dispense with his punishment but everyone who knows Spider knows that no matter who told him to stop that would not have stopped him since what Cole did effected his son. Cole should have also gotten the S*** beat out of him by Spider. Then it all played out too easy in the end and jumped 3 years

I am so glad that River and Maverick finally get their story 😍
We have seen them snippets of them through out the gen series and have loved each other from a young age. This book have romance, heartbreak and betrayal from the one man that should love her the most 😪
I was shocked at Colt's reaction to their love for each other and the lengths we would go to break them up 😔
Fianlly he realise's that he will loose River if he does not grow up and be the dad she needs. This book is well worth the read if you love the series for Terri Anne Browning, ready for Max's story after reading a snippet for this book ❤

Finally there is a female lead that has the strength and faith in love that most of the others in her generation are lacking. Her loyalty to Maverick is unwavering and she fights for their love. I am royally disappointed in Colt. He's supposed to be the most compassionate of the Hannigans but this book showed side of him that I found myself hating. Gotta say both Maverick and River are better than me because I would not have handled his betrayal nearly as well and probably begged Spider to whip his ass.

Oh this story gave me all the feels! River and Maverick are my favorites, maybe even more so than their 1st generation relations. Their story was fantastic. It had everything, from romance, steaminess, to betrayal and heartbreak. And the emotions that I experienced while reading.... it gave me chills, I teared up multiple times and I felt everything they felt. Fantastic story, I couldn't put it down!

The next generation keep bringing the goods
The next gen Halos are just as bada$$ and alpha as their Dads. The son of Spider was obviously going to be all in with his woman. Colt has his little princess that he doesn't want to acknowledge that River has grown up. The outing of her and Maverick relationship causes major shockwaves through him and his behaviour leaves a lot to be desired. Another great read.

I loved this book!!
I have read all of these books and I have to say this one is my favorite!! It was great. Maverick & River were so sweet and loving towards each other! My heart broke for River when Colt acted like such a jerk, but he totally redeemed himself at the end! I can’t wait for Max & Delaney’s book!

Continuation
It’s really great to catch up with the couples in Angels Halo again and not the younger generation. Maverick and River have had a long wait before they could be together openly and not unexpectedly River’s dad Colt takes it badly and behaves like a jerk, men! Luckily the rest of the MC help to sort things out.

I don’t know how she does it but it doesn’t matter how long it has been since I’ve read the last book I get sucked right back into this family like I just was reading about them yesterday. I loved Mav and River’s story. I wanted to murder Colt a couple times but the love between the two of them out shown everything else. I can’t wait to see what happens next with Max and Delaney!

Maverick and River should be relationship goals!! Even as young as they are, they knew they were meant to be and had a bond that could not be broken. Their love was pure and so beautiful. I love that we got a little sneak peak of Max's book and I can't wait to read that one!! This entire series is a must read.
