Apparently, rules aren’t my thing. Because the moment I wake up naked next to my hot-as-hell new employee, I want to go for round two. I'm not exactly Prince Charming. Some call me The Wolf. I don’t do love, and I sure as hell don’t do forever. But one look at her, and I become a one-woman man.
She has a British accent and a car that won’t start. I’m in a rush, so I do what I need to do and send her on her way—sure I’ll never see her again. Then she shows up at my company to interview for a new position. What are the odds? So I hire the long-legged beauty from the UK.
The guys are circling her like vultures. But she’s my prey. In six months, her visa will expire, and she’ll be back overseas. What can a little down-and-dirty fun hurt? But one kiss turns into two, then three, then more. Suddenly, I’m defenseless against her charms.
But the second I start to picture a future, she quits. Vanishes—without warning or explanation. She’s left back to the UK…
I know I need her back. And I only have one chance to make things right.

✔ Office Romance ✔ Accidental Marriage ✔ Accidental Pregnancy ✔ MC romance [kinda] ✔ Daddy issues ✔ Best friend's ex [No drama] ✔ Both experienced ✔ Dual POV ✔ HEA
Joel was Charlie's new boss. Charlie had to get a job if she wanna stay in America as she's there in a work visa which would expire soon. But because of there attraction to each other, they ended up crossing the line. One day, woke up married and on the top of that, she also found out that she's pregnant. However, Charlie knew she had to get annulment as Joel neither had any plan to get married nor any children. So, she ended up running to London. Joel followed after he realized his feelings and bam. They're together.
It was hilarious when Charlie saw Joel naked and gave a pep talk in her mind to act professional only to end up throwing herself at him. Hell, it was the second time. I didn't like Charlie's decision about not telling Joel about the baby but then again, he did repeatedly said he didn't wanna get married or have children. Also, it would've been nice if the author had written about Charlie spending time with the MC or her mother-in-law. I wasn't really fond of the lead characters. The secondary characters were okay I guess. The writing style and plot was alright. But the author focused on some stuff that I believe the readers wouldn't be interested in just to prolong the length of the book. Or maybe it's just me. Specially the MC aspect. It just felt like a poor execution. I get that the author wanted to do something different but it didn't ended up being a good combination with the other tropes I guess. The name of the book was also stupid because she ended up forcing his name as 'wolf'. Overall, it was a short and okay read.
Already half in the book and they still haven't done the deed yet. I just enjoy my books when they tend to confess their feelings immediately and take action. I kept reading on, wondering what would happen but it's only when I finished the book did I realize that there was no clear path or story line. There was no problem to be solved. Most of the time it was just about the main characters being quite distant and barely showing any interest in each other, save for that 'spark' they feel when in the same room.
But I do like Bethany though, she's kinda like my spirit animal.
"If my boss looked like your boss, then I'd toss professionalism right out the window and throw my legs in the air."
Avery might have hit him. For making her feel powerless and exhilarated at the same time. For making her fall for him.
She didn't want him-not all of him, at least. She just wanted the night.
Well, yeah, there were sad moments too. But it all just felt so rushed. I even found the last scenes random. It went from one genre to another and it caught me completely off guard. There were no hints for me to have guessed this is where it was going.
However, I did pick this up without reading the blurb from Goodreads. The site I got this freebie from didn't offer any blurb at all and I just picked the one with a guy in a suit and a title where it clearly says a boss and an employee relationship. I guess it's my fault too. Lesson learned, always read the blurb ahead!
Not my favourite. I think the book and I started off on the wrong foot because we kind of get the same event from both perspectives and I'm not a fan of that. (Luckily the author doesn't continue with this form of narration) Then we have a mishmash of at least five tropes. It felt like Joel and Charlie spent a lot of time not interacting with each other. Finally, I didn't like Charlie. Joel seems to find her smart and ballsy and brave; I don't see it (especially post-Vegas). I received an ARC and am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
I loved Joel and Charlie’s story. There attraction towards each other was at first sight and when they finally got together it was same as there sexual attraction as well. Even though Joel was Charlie’s boss she could not help but to keep going back to him and in the end their relationship grew way too strong for them the be apart and continued to be a couple and so much more but be end of their story.
So she had three interactions with the guy. That’s it. And suddenly she’s pregnant and in love. There’s an IPO deal and biker club sub plot that takes up so much space in this book. But yah don’t get this book.

Boss:The Wolf was a fun, quick read. I couldn’t put it down! This book has it all! Drama, alpha bikers, billionaires, romance, sexy chemistry. You name it, it’s there! I really enjoyed it.
The romance between Joel and Charlie is sweet with a side of hot. Their burn is fast—faster than I prefer. So, the entire ride seems a bit rushed with too many tropes thrown in to make the tread worthwhile. But, if I’m being honest, I lovvvvve the tropes used. Some of them, I can’t mention as it would give a away imports at details of the story. But, overall, I enjoyed their push and pull, as it didn’t last too long and things were resolved rather quickly. This was cute and included all the necessary elements for a good romance. I think the story just needed to be developed a little more. Solid 3 stars
I found this book discounted via BargainBooksy; this is my honest review. LANGUAGE could be an issue for some; it's not clean. -I bought the book because I liked the description. Since it was talking about a Visa, I thought when Charlie vanished that she had been deported. No such thing. Also, Joel rides a motorcycle, not a bike. -Charlie is British but she talks American English with probably a maximum of five distinctive words from Britain. Charlie and Nora have no boundaries in kiss & tell stories. They tell ALL. A couple, even a hook-up for the evening, should have secrets. -Vegas: I have to say that the author completely missed that Charlie didn't have panties on as per Nora's suggestion. Those panties are off and swinging on the chandelier and remembered a few times including the epilogue. There were no panties to talk about. Also, Joel kisses her from her neck to her thighs. Have you ever kissed a sequin dress? Not the most romantic thing to do - hard on the lips too... The marriage certificate was in the living room not on the bed. -Post-Vegas: Charlie left the ring at work in her drawer?????!!!! Do you think it's worth $25? He's a billionaire; I'm sure it's worth thousands of $$$$. She's on the pill, not worried about STI, misses some dosages, carefree and immature, then blames Joel for getting pregnant. So @70 % she runs (I hate when they run!). I think it's just wrong to think you know how the other person will react. -Britain: So Charlie is happy when she thinks Joel will face problems by himself when their secrets gets out. On the other hand, Joel feels bad that she had to go through all this alone. Wow, such a difference in character. Then she thinks Joel wouldn't have come if he had known. For Pete's sake, wake up! So @85% all's well that ends well. -The only time I laughed was because there was a reference to pre-2020: "an aisle filled with massive amounts of TP, hand sanitizer, and disinfectants". -I wouldn't recommend. The author is all over the place with different stories going on a the same time; it's really boring in places and upsetting at others. I pity Joel in his choice of a wife. The most interesting was when they had the meetings with the lawyers.
Full Disclosure: I received a Review Reader Copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
I found this paranormal romance to be a quick read. It took a few chapters before I began to feel invested in the story. It was pretty well developed with interesting characters, written from two points of view, although there were a few times I had to look back to the chapter heading to confirm in whose POV I was reading. Also, I thought the ending was too abrupt.
That being said, writing books is not easy. This was a new to me writer and I'd give Jolie Day another try.
Boss - The Wolf by Jolie Day is a contemporary romance about a young British woman and an American billionaire CEO. Charlie (Charlotte) travelled to New York from London thinking that if she got in a little experience in American fashion, it would help with her resume and give her better job prospects back in London. With six months left before her Visa expires, she knows if she doesn't find something soon, she'll have to go back to London with her tail tucked between her legs. Elated to be called in for an interview with Embry Gear, she is horrified when her car breaks down on the way to the interview. Then on her way there the car she borrowed breaks down leaving her stranded until a gorgeous man on a motorcycle stops to help. Little did she realize the guy who stopped was the CEO of the company she has an interview with that she was going to be late for. Joel is a member of the Hell’s Seven MC and the CEO of Embry Gear a billion dollar company. He is tough, sexy, loyal all alpha with a sweet side. He is determined to never be in a relationship and especially never ever get married. He likes his playboy ways of love them and leave them and move to the next one. I LOVED this story and enjoyed it thoroughly. I didn't want to leave this world Jolie Day is becoming one of my favourite authors I just love the way she writes her stories. They continuously lure me in and I never want to put them down. Joel and Charlie(Charlotte) are great characters and their chemistry is electric from their first meeting until the end. Joel is a member of a Motorcycle club, and is also the CEO of his families company a sexy rugged billionaire, who has a chance encounter with a British Bombshell Charlie(Charlotte) she is stranded on the side of the road when her car breaks down on the way to a crucial job interview.Which she desperately needs otherwise she will have to return to th U.K. This first meeting paves the way to an abundance of fateful encounters that leads them to have a sex fueled fling..There is so much to this story that I don't want to give away there are lots of surprises which had me smiling to myself and then feeling tearful.Joel can be quite romantic when he wants to be considering he is a NO relationship kinda guy,he had me swooning. I loved reading how the presence of Charlie in his life changed his opinion on relationships and love,he didn't even know he wanted that until this gorgeous woman walked into his life. And Charlie could never have imagined that a biker/CEO could turn her world upside down and be the answer to all her worries. They are simply perfect for one another...and Jolie Day has written the most captivating book with characters that have an undeniable attraction and whose journey I was delighted to read...It is brilliant I want MORE. Well done Jolie Day another fantastic book that I HIGHLY recommend.
I received a free ARC copy in exchange for my honest review. This is my own opinion and was not influenced by anyone.
Joel is the CEO of his late grandfather’s company. He is a shrewd businessman with the nickname "Wolf of Midtown." He also is a member of the motorcycle club, Hell's Seven.
Charlie is almost at the end of her visa stay in the U.S. She came to get more experience in the business side of fashion/retailing. On her way to an interview at Embry Gear, the car breaks down and is helped by a gorgeous stranger, Joel.
Joel doesn't believe he will ever be able to be with one woman forever. His devotion and time is to his business. Charlie is able to get into his brain and won't leave his thoughts. Their encounters are sexy. He doesn't want to be tied up emotionally by a woman but Charlie works. She is just as wild as he us if not more.
The characters are different. Joel is business by day by bad boy at heart. He is more calculating while she seems to fly by the seat of her pants. Charlie has dreams and is willing to take some chances to chase them. Her brain may not always be caught up with her mouth so she is funny and endearing.
Joel's best friends are Eric and Clay. They work together and are in the MC together. They act like real brothers, with crazy teasing but incredible loyalty. Also in Joel's life is Max and Vorn. Max is in the Outlaw series and Vorn, the prez of Hell's Seven, is in an up coming book in that series.
Boss: The Wolf by Jolie Day has great adult romance but it also fun to read. I enjoyed the standalone romance and it has a perfect happily ever after.
Joel is the owner of a multi-billion dollar company but he is also a member of a motorcycle club. He loves to ride his Harley and hang out with his buddies when not running his company. The club he is a part of is no longer involved in any illegal activities and haven't been for a long time. There are still those that would like to cause trouble just the same. On his way to work one morning, he finds Charlie on the side of the road the hood of her car up and looking stressed. He stopped to help her. Got her on her way and thought he'd never see her again. Charlie is sassy, independent and strong. There was an instant attraction. Imagine Joel's surprise when he finds Charlie in the reception area of his building trying to interview for a job. Joel hires Charlie as she is just the person to help take his company in a new direction. The two can't seem to stay away from one another. Is there attraction a one time thing or is there something more. Joel swears he will never get married but when he wakes up in Vegas with Charlie next to him and a marriage certificate on the table, what will he do?
This is an entertaining steamy read. I enjoyed the characters and their interaction. I also enjoyed the secondary characters in the book. I love when authors bring those characters to like and let us get to know them a bit as well. I started out skeptical of this book as a billionaire who is also part of a biker club had me a little leery. However, Day brings the story full circle and it is worth the read. There is also some suspense with cooperate espionage.

My rating range of this story... 2.5 - 3.5 Stars If significant, why?
Main Character Ratings... H = 6/10 h = 6/10
Was cheating involved? No Any major triggers to be aware of?
Scenes with heat... Plenty What point does it start? 25% How much of the story? 15% Anything beyond M/F? No If yes, explained
Heat Rating... 7/10 Clean or Fade to Black - 1 or 2 Normal to Descriptive 3-5 Detailed Descriptive Sex - 6-7 Um, Wow, Beyond Descriptive Sex - 8 or above
Was there so much sex or unrealistic sex that you rolled your eyes and/or skipped forward? Almost
The back story... The h needs a good job to extend her green card to stay in the US. On her way to a big job interview, her car conks out halfway and the H stops to assist. She gets there late and is about to be hauled away by security when the H comes out and agrees to interview her.
The Romance... A but difficult to see as he was constantly saying I cannot be in a relationship and she kept saying that he will never want me. Grrrr
The drama explosion... The h makes assumptions after a conversation with the H and runs home to England.
Did it feel real or contrived? A bit contrived. Was it OTT? Yes Separation involved? Yes Was it resolved properly or rushed? Ok
Final Notes... This story mixes multiple tropes yet does an OK job of putting it together. I did skip the continuous second guessing that occurred before and after each statement
The start was a bit weird but fun. The English girl with the almost expired visa and the boss.
Then, after about 3 interactions they got drunkenly married in Vegas. An annulment? Maybe. The Boss said never to want a relationship, but learns in the following chapters that he's in love and his idea of relationships is totally wrong. So great yeah.
Ofcourse the h is dealing with getting an annulment (yet hoping the sexy rich and good in the bedroom boss wants more) and finds out she's pregnant. Here I have to say, the money part is made way too important AND no consideration of abortion even though she finds out in a matter of days. She decides not to tell the H, because he had said never to want a relationship aaand because she would lose face. Great reasons right?!
She flights back to England to her mum, who is just so happy that her daughter is pregnant aaand all in with not telling the H anything. (She is later shocked that the h hadn't told the H, but honestly the subject was not really discussed)
H flights to England and first gets turned away by the door by the mother and the h is just too embarrassed to face him. You know, not irritating or frustrating at all.
Luckily there is an HEA. Yay (sarcasm).
By the way, there is also this side plot of a bikerclub and an IPO.

I really enjoyed this quick story. Joel, company CEO by day, biker afficionado and former bad boy after hours. He loves the ladies, but just for the occasional hook-up. Not looking for a relationship at all. He took the job over from his grandfather, and is determined to make it even better. He's quite successful in a short time, and his current focus is preparing his company for an IPO, something he's been working on for months.
Charlie is looking to land a job in the fashion industry in the US. She's from the UK, and is hoping to add some meaningful work to her resume before her work visa runs out in six months. After applying to several companies, she finally gets an interview as a procurement manager, and lands the job. When Joel sees Charlie, he knows he's met her before. Now that he's her boss, he has to ignore the strong attraction between the two. Of course, that plan doesn't work, and what ensues is some seriously hot action between Joel and Charlie, and a few twists that weren't expected.
This was a really good telling of a fairy tale neither of the participants wants, but later find they need. I loved Charlie's sassiness, and Joe is all alpha, and I LOVED THAT!!
Jason Clarke and Samantha Brentmoor did a wonderful job w/the narration. Growly, alpha, tatted Jason is always a guaranteed lady boner inducer!
Charlie needs to stay in the state's or its back to Marry old England. But first she needs a job or a husband as her mums friend keeps hinting at what she got was a broke down ride which caused her to be late for and interview but all is not lost the hot biker was able to help her with her problem in more then one way. Joel interesting a rebel and a wolf in business hes a biker and a CEO of his family's company and those biker ties are slightly shady but the sexy British chick hes just helped out is causing him some major distraction one thing leads to another theres some kisses but there may be more then one problem hes her boss and she may have dated his friend Eric but thats okay hill just stay away from her.
Charlie I just need to forget about Joel easier said then done then I see him necked and then theres that time in Vegas im in such big trouble. Now Charlie has complications and a secret and is fleeing back across the pond. Joel thought he didn't want a relationship but now hes chasing Charlie. This is a funny and steamy Romance. This is a new author for me and I will check out her other books.
I was allowed to read and advance copy of this book via Booksprout and this is my honest review.
This was a great book and the main characters where so believable you just can’t help but fall in love with them both. Charlie is a long way from home in the UK to try her luck in New York’s fashion industry but has trouble landing a job. Now broken down on the side of the road when she is supposed to be at an interview at Embry Gear in a ditch attempt to stay before her visa runs out and just at that moment a gorgeous guy pulls up on a bike to help her out well it might be a totally loss after all. Joel Embry is late for work as the CEO of Embry Gear but how can he leave a beautiful woman on the side of the road with curves in all the right places he cannot and so he helps her get to her interview by fixing the car and she leaves and he wishes her good luck. Then he rescues her again and gives her the job because he wants to know this woman Charlie better in and out of the sheets as well. The attraction between them is so hot that they cannot denied it and start sleeping together and before they know it they are in Vegas on business and wake up married. What happens next you say, to find out get this amazing book and see for yourself.

Hot, steamy, biker sexiness. Joel is all of that wrapped into a CEO package to boot. Charlie doesn't realize the lone biker that offered to help her when her car breaks down is someone she won't forget. Late for an interview she crosses paths again but this time he is in a suit and ready to hire her. Out for the night with her friend Nora, Charlie runs into Joel again. It seems they can't stop meeting. Sparks fly briefly but are reignited in the company gym when the HOT CEO bares all and Charlie can't say no. Can Joel break out of his bachelor ways and determined singleness to see what Charlie has to offer? Is there an ex in her past that comes back when Joel does suspect? Will what happens in Vegas, stay in Vegas? Joel is juggling a huge business deal and also Charlie's heart. Will there be an HEA or will he break her heart? This was a good storyline, nice character chemistry and an easy read.

This was a great read that I thoroughly enjoyed drawn in from palmist the first page There is enough angst and drama to keep me engaged and a enough heat to have my kindle sweating
Charli on working visa from London is running out of money and needs a job fast she is on a working visa trying to get experience in the fashion industry but keeps getting laid off but now she has a job interview at Embry Gear a interview she will be late to because the car she borrowed has broken down Luckily she is rescued by a gorgeous guy on a bike pity she will never see him again or will she. She is stunned when she discovers her gorgeous rescuer is non other than the CEO of the company Joel is not only the CEO but also a member of a local MC he knows he shouldn't want his latest employee but he was never good at denying himself what he anted and she is only here for another six months so whats the harm. As the passion between them grows a business trip to Las Vegas leads to marriage So why does Charli then flee back to London and will Joel follow her or walk away you will have to read to see
I was not expecting to see the Hell’s Seven make an appearance in this book, but I kinda liked it. I particularly enjoyed seeing the way the author fused the two worlds by the end. I loved just about everything about Joel. He’s focused and driven, but he also understands the need for downtime. I didn’t connect so well with Charlie. (And don’t even get me started on her best friend.) I liked who Charlie started out as in the beginning. She’s just as focused and driven as Joel and want to make it on her own merits rather than taking the easy way out. But, after the events in Las Vegas, I wasn’t as big a fan. Mostly because she becomes one of the kinds of characters I like least: a heroine who chooses not to talk to her hero. The ending brings it all around, full circle, and I was back to where I liked these two together again. Now that I’ve seen some more of the MC members in a different light, there’s a few of them I’m anxious to read more about. I received a complimentary copy of this book through Booksprout.
This is the story of Joel and Charlie. Joel is an alpha male CEO who is also a member of the motorcycle club Hell's Seven. Charlie is living in New York, from England, on a Visa that is about to expire and she is needing a new job. On the way to an interview, her car breaks down and she is rescued by a handsome stranger on a motorcycle, Joel. Unknown to her, Joel is the CEO of the company she was going to be interviewing for and though she misses her interview, Joel takes a chance on her and offers her a job.
Their attraction and chemistry is immediate and after waking up together in a hotel room in Las Vegas, while on a work trip, it's too much and Charlie leaves and heads back home to England. Will Joel follow her once he realizes she has left? Will they be able to work out their differences and find their happily ever after?
It's a fun story, passionate story - filled with love, laughter, romance and great characters.
Charlie moves to the US from London to get more experience in the fashion industry. Joel is the CEO of the company that Charlie goes for an interview late because of car trouble. Charlie didn't realize the person that helped her was Joel, her potential new employer. Charlie is told she is late for the interview the person doing the interview has already left and when she rants about car trouble Joel appears and decides to give her the interview. Joel hires Charlie to work for him. While in Vegas Charlie and Joel get heated up. Charlie is not happy about what happened, so she runs back to London to get away from Joel. When back in London Charlie finds out some news she decides is best to keep from Joel? Will Joel chase after Charlie and Charlie accept him? Is there a HEA for these two? Grab this book and find out.

This book is one of the best that I've read. The main characters are amazing and the whole story is lifelike. Charlie and Joel aren't looking for love, but love is looking for them. After submitting her resume and portfolio everywhere and not having hope that she would get called back, Charlie receives an appointment for an interview. Charlie can't believe her luck when the car she's using breaks down on the day of her interview. Joel ends up pulling over to help a woman on the side of the road on his way to work. What he isn't expecting is for her to be extremely attractive. When Charlie finally gets to her interview she's surprised to see the biker who helped her on the side of the road; even more, he's her boss. Will these two be able to separate business from pleasure? How will they be able to work together if they cross that line? I received a free copy from the author and reviewed voluntarily.
I enjoyed reading these characters stories, they had a true chemistry from the moment he saw her on the side of the road. He is attracted to her and he doesn't understand it at all, this is a man who doesn't settle who doesn't want to be dragged down by the "old ball and chain." That is until he meets Charlie, but it is complicated because at first it appears she was with one of his best mates previously and two she works for him.
Joel however is driven to fight for what he wants and his story is about finding his own journey to realising that giving up a single life isn't all that bad. Through all their challenges and fate throwing them every possible thing Charlie and Joel story is beautifully well written, with passion, love, humour and acceptance.
I loved this story I was truly hooked I have my favourite moments in it where I had to go back and read it again because it brought a tear to my eye. I would totally recommend reading this book.

This took me a while to get into and I didn't quite connect to the characters for most of the book. It also took me a little while to get into the style of writing. It wasn't quite what I was expecting from the blurb as the link to bikers was unexpected and I'm not sure it really rang true for me. It was also a bit distracting at times. I stuck with it though and thought everything resolved pretty well.
Characters were mostly good. Charlie was definitely fun and interesting and I probably enjoyed her POV most. Possibly because of how the bikers were covered in the chapters from Joel's POV and it seemed a bit incongruous having a billionaire with ties to a local biker chapter.
