The Fausti Family #2

Queen of Thorns

Rate this book
A Royal Organized Crime Romance

The moment Scarlett Rose appeared in the window of her parents’ dance studio, twirling like a beautiful figurine in a music box, she became mine. Irrevocably.

She knew me better than I knew the lines of my own hands, though I had never confessed to her whose blood ran through my veins, the famiglia that I belonged to. My legacy created a savage beast that lurked beneath my skin, ready to battle for family and honor, but he only went to war for one—her.

There was one catch, an arrangement she didn’t know about. I sent her away so that she could follow her stars. But now, I was back to retrieve what had always belonged to me—my ballerina girl.

Book II in an eight-part Royal Organized Crime Romance saga.

Born and raised in New Orleans, Annie has a habit of shortening her words and telling long stories. She speaks with a southern flair and cooks with it too. At the tender age of twenty- one, she hitched up her wagons (took her first plane ride) and moved out west to the big shake (California). Her passion for writing began one sleepless night when she imagined a gorgeous woman and a man with maniacal hair floating above her like lightning bugs falling from the sky. Curious about them, their story, and why they were floating around in her head, she sat down and penned (typed) her first novel, Marigny Street. A dream come true for her, she hasn’t stopped writing since. She loves a damn good love story, always has, no matter what the genre. She is particularly moved by imperfect love that in its own unique way is perfect, the notion of love at first sight, soul mates, and things that are generally out of the norm.

When she’s not writing she enjoys dabbling in photography and finding new, inspirational music to add to her collection. She currently resides in Texas (where everything really is bigger) with her husband, daughter, and their three peculiar dogs, Boudreaux, Tabasco, and Vanna Loo (who, call her crazy, bark with an accent).

It took me days but I finished

Book 2 picks up 31/2 years later. The h is now a famous ballerina in Paris...the H goes with her family to see her and is ready to get his woman back. Lots of stupid, STUPID back and forth and foolish decisions later they finally got back together.

What I didn't realize was that this couple has 6 books......6 books when I didn't even think their story was exciting or interesting enough for 2??? I've never been happier to quit a series.✌

2 stars because moron was celibate this time

I received this book for free in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.Queen of Thorns by Bella Di Corte continues the story of Scarlett and Brando. This is the second book in the Fausti Family series. It picks three and half years after the conclusion of Man of Honor.

Scarlett lives is Paris and is slowly becoming a famous ballerina like her grandmother. Despite her achievement despair wrapped around her like a shroud. Half of her soul was thousands of miles away. Brando Fausti believed his ballerina girl would go places, and he wanted her to be best and share her gift with the world. Hence, when the opportunity came for to perform in Paris, he all on board even it meant losing half of his soul.

The story focused Scarlett’s success in Paris while she struggled with missing Brando. The reader got the chance to see Brando and Scarlett re-unite and watched as they tried to overcome the many obstacles facing their relationship. While apart they the barely lived, they only existed for the moment they would be together again.

I couldn’t wait to see these two re-unite but when they did there were several times, I wished I could knock their heads together. Stubborn pride, insecurities, immaturity and secrets threatened their relationship. The drama, angst and the constant push and pull made me want to scream and shake them.

Brando has yet to tell Scarlett about his family ties. He has distanced himself from his father’s money, legacy, and ties to the mafia so far. However, the Fausti name has proven to be powerful and just the sound of it drives fear into may. Not sure how long he can keep that secret, especially now that she shares the Fausti name.

Secondary characters from the previous book appeared in this installment. Some have shown growth, then there were those who still have not gotten their lives together. The story introduced a new character, who will prove to be a thorn in both Scarlett and Brando’s side.

Once again, no mafia activities took place in this installment. The story focused mainly on the epic romance between the main characters

The story focused mainly on the epic romance between the main characters resulting in it moving at a slow pace. Despite the slowness of the story, I did not find it to be dull. It may not have had the excitement I hoped for, but it was still an entertaining read.

I can’t tell you how much I enjoy the author’s writing. She held me captive with her words and I could not get enough.

“Your body will remember, your heart will never forget, and your soul will forever be one with mine.”

Overall, although not quite what I had expected I enjoyed it more than I did the first book. I am looking forward to see what next is in store for Brando and Scarlet. This review was originally posted on Totally Addicted to Reading

THE REVIEW FOR THE BOOK: THE BEAUTIFUL YEARS II .

GENRE: CONTEMPORARY ROMANCE.
AUTHOR: Bella Di Corte
TYPE: book #2 of the series A FAUSTI FAMILY SAGA.
MY RATING: 5"EMOTIONAL SATED YET YEARNING FOR MORE" STARS.

Another canon worthy installation in the Fausti Family Saga...The story continues with our same couple Brando and Scarlette...But don't get used to them as they are...Bella has some tricks up her sleeve which will leave you gasping and wondering why didn't you pick up this book sooner.

Scarlette and Brando are separated...he sacrificed for her and she is off to Paris to live as a ballerina...living her mother's and grandmother's dream...She has got everything but has lost the most important thing to her...Brando. Both of them are incomplete without each other and that's evidently depicted in her letters to Maggie Beautiful, another spectacular character that just adds glams to the story.

“Tell me that I didn’t miss you. Tell me that I didn’t carve my heart out and give it to you to take. Tell me!” – Brando Fausti.

When Brando comes to Paris, finally earned enough to provide her the life she deserves...more secrets are revealed and obstacles are thrown in their path in the hopes to separate them...But will it?

When you are reading a book by this author, it's more than just the story and characters...the writing is so beautiful and poetic that you just want to keep reading...She also provides us with an escapade to a foreign country just by reading her words...they are crafted so beautifully and spoke loudly to you...

This book paved way for a darker side of the series...a little more connection of Brando to the Italian Mafia Royalty was depicted and it's still just the start of the hurdles for Scarlette and Brando...

First Impressions
Queen of Thorns is the second book in the "Fausti Family" series and this is book two of our beautiful couple here. This book picks off of the last scene we saw in "Man of Honor" so its been 3 years since Brando and Scarlett have seen each other. Brando was forced to let her go when knowing that their time wasn't when they were 18. That they both had to mature and live life and prove themselves for personal growth but also for the future of what they could be and the potential that they could have. The three years have been hard on both of them. Brando knowing that he is giving Scarlett what she needs to thrive as a professional dancer. But also Brando because he has some things he needs to prove to himself before he can come for Scarlett. I really loved seeing their reunion and what they were able to accomplish as they come together. Their reunion and reconnecting will be packed with ups and down and their love will be tested...

First Line
Looking up at the sky, I thought about that night, and not for the first time.

Summary
In Queen of Thorns, our story begins with Brando where its been three years since they saw each other and he was forced to let her go so that his Scarlett could shine for the world. We see how he has been working hard to keep himself busy and distracted through it all. But now its time for him to come to her. When he comes to visit with some of her other family, they are forced to face up to the past, the pain that they have both been in, and learning to connect with the people that they are now. Their journey is just beginning though and relearning each other isn't an easy road, and there are dangers happening that are slowly coming into their visions and their relationship will be tested internally as the value of trust and communication will be challenged. But can Danto and Scarlett find their connection and strength to persevere through the struggles?

What I Loved
Queen of Thorns was a story that had me highly entertained. I absolutely was hooked so quickly into the story. Now that I have adjusted to this author's writing style, this time around it definitely went more smoothly and I couldn't put this one down. I loved the way that this author developed this reconnection. Especially the first half of the story was pure magical with some glimpses of some suspense that get thrown into the mix. Their reunion was epic and just right and I will admit that I was laughing all over the place. Scarlett definitely doesn't make it easy for him (shoe-throwing scene anyone? LOL) and I absolutely adored that their connection was stronger than ever. Seeing the loss and what it has done to both of them was so heart-wrenching to witness. But what heals the wounds is seeing them find each other again and learning what it takes to fight for their relationship. They have some internal struggles that they need to work through. And the ending was a mix of feelings. I really adored the hero more than ever, especially in the final act. Brando is quickly working his way to the top of my book-boyfriend's shelf. His devotion to Scarlett and how quick on his feet he is is brilliant and how he helps save her from her mother's manipulations I literally was cheering him on. I really am crossing my fingers that in the next book, we see some justice against the mother because what she does to her daughter should be criminal.

What I Struggled With
The inner relationship angst in the second half of the story before the wedding. I really didn't understand this portion of the story to be honest. It just felt unnecessary and kinda came out of the blue and was suddenly there and I wish that there had been better build up for it.

Overall View
I found Queen of Thorns to be a satisfying installment to the cliffhanger that we received in the first book. It's a story that captures the intensity of their bond, a slighter building of their sensual connection, and delivers on the feels from beginning to end!

Favorite Quote(s)
Her art touched heart and soul, made a lasting impression that seemed to brand bone.

4.5 beautiful stars!!!

Beautiful is not just in the title..this story is beyond beautiful!! Brando and Scarlett...sigh...I’ve never read about characters so in love and so connected to each other. This series just gets better with each book and I can’t wait for all the mafia business to kick in because I know it’s coming!! This series is definitely not for everyone..I think it takes a certain level of maturity to appreciate storytelling like this author is giving us. Not everything has to be OTT..in your face or dark. Onto book 3!!!

These two I swear! We pick up in book two of the Fausti famiglia saga with Brando going to Paris to claim Scarlett after he let her go three years ago to pursue a career as a ballerina. It's not easy going and both of them make mistakes, but Scarlett's mistake may cost her the creative freedom that she though she had. It was angsty and the connection and fireworks were still there. I got exhausted at times because they feed off one another in both good and bad ways. We shall continue on with book three.

After reading MAN OF HONOR and QUEEN OF THORNS, I am absolutely, 100% convinced, these are the two most romantic reads I have ever laid eyes on. I felt it all the way in my soul. The writing was so utterly beautiful in such a way, you ached for more of it. Yearned to be a part of the story. It dug it’s self deep into my core and I was so far lost to it’s captivating presence that when the end came I literally cried. Cried!!

QUEEN OF THORNS rocked my soul with it’s poetic words and it’s fierce and beautifully written tale. The Beauty. The Beast. The romance that stands the test of time. Again, like MAN OF HONOR, this story was everything a romance should ever strive to be. 5 Stars!

Boy, did I fell hard, I didnt even see it coming.
I loved book 1, and I could follow both of their thoughts and feelings, but this book let me down hard. I know every romance series needs Some trouble and Some emotions to make it real, and make you feel with the characters.... but this just didnt make sense at all.

I mean, for starters: he left her? Just like that? If it was a month i would understand, but a year? I couldnt believe my eyes when I read that he left her... again...

After that, his mother receives a letter from her, and the first conclusion he thinks of is “she married him”. I was flabbergasted, you guys spend all those years “looking in each others souls” and “feeling each other”. Please explain to me How you exactly see her marrying him after you just left her for four years and nothing happened?

Other thing, the rat is in her appartment and asks her to marry him after he has been such a jerk. I couldnt wrap my mind about that. With an effin diamond ring, as if Its worth nothing.

When the story line led me to the background of Astrid, it felt like Some other sweet love story, but it lead to Some unexpected and unwanted horror story.

Then the ghost. That story came out of nowhere and didnt really land anywhere. Maybe Im speaking before my turn and it will happen further in the series, but it just didnt make sense with the whole marriage thing going on.

The whole maffia thing. So this kid is the son of one of the most expensive names in the country, probably the world, and he just acts like nothing matters. He is straight lying to his wife about it, and he never sees his father.
His wife never thinks this through and never went to see his father. Why didnt she went to his father to find out about Why he gets irritated and deressed all the time?
I truly missed her boldness and found her too naive through the book.

One of the most irritating thing throughout the book was the behaviour of Brandon. He was this though cool boy in book one. But he grew into Some scared one throughout this book. I didnt like his reactions most of the time.

The last thing that turned this book souer for me, was the whole “speaking their minds” kind of thing. Just the repetition of all those thoughts again and again and again, it bored me in the end.

Im sorry not sorry for my review, but I have to be honest and this book just wasnt it for me. Maybe I Will read the rest of the series later when I feel like it, but just not right now.

Edited: I just thought about How furious it Made me that her mother sold her to the ratt. Human trade business is illegal and this “contract” looks damn much about this. Lock him up, or use your family name to get rid of him, indtead of standing there like a goos and “negotiating” about the terms of sharing your wife. This infuriated me beyond beliefs and made me turn this book down.

TLDR: didnt like it, too naive for me.

Brando Fausti has a heavy heart. Scarlett Rose Poesy is having a case of what ifs. Scarlett has an interesting “friendship” with Maggie Beautiful that I became very curious about. But what’s more curious is the adventure she seems to be taking us on.

In this second book in the Beautiful Years series Scarlett seems to be living the dream. How many of us can say we’ve spent some extended time in a foreign country – especially one that is synonymous with love? I really suck at learning/speaking a foreign language but I love to listen when someone speaks one. This was such a visual and aural story that I felt that I should be sitting at an outdoor café while the people of Paris pass me by.

The story itself is a haunting one, one you cannot look away from. If you do you might miss something important. One moment is where I say “soap opera” to myself. That was my hook the reader moment – not sure where this author was going to take me and by the end I still felt the same. It seems the author is taking Scarlett to a forbidden place. Is it a place where she can spread her wings? Not sure if Brando is happy with the transformation or not – that’s just part of the hook.

Our two main characters seem to have a connection that goes beyond what we can see. Not sure if it’s the location, or not, but at times the story had an old fashioned feel to it. Either that or I’ve watched one too many old movies. The ending seemed to fit right in with that feeling leaving me with a mystery and having to sign up for the newsletter so I’ll know when the next release will arrive. I have the need to know where our author is taking this series.

I was not compensated nor was I required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own.

OMG I have to say I felt like I waited a long time for this second part but it really wasn't long at all and I told everyone that I was going into my reading hole not to disturb me because my book boyfriend was calling me yes Brando was calling me and I needed to find out what was going on with Scarlett because I knew she was going to be having fun in Paris I mean who wouldn't but I also knew she would be missing Brando and wanting to see him and be near him but she knew he wanted her to have her career and do her passion and have her fun.

Brando still hasn't told Scarlett who his family is but I am starting to think that his family is a very powerful one and he is going to be that legacy and he better get to telling Scarlett soon because I don't want her to find out from others who think that meddling is the way to go but I think Brando is going to tell her real soon. He has sacrificed so much to be with Scarlett that he is willing to give her the world and take out the world if they try and hurt her. I need part three because that ending had me like oh hell no you are stopping here.

The Beautiful Years- Part 2 by Annie Rose Welch. I’m speechless! After reading book 1, I was utterly blown away by this passionate love story and book 2 picks up where 1 left off. And it just keeps getting better. I find myself wildly anticipating what could possibly happen next in their journey. Brando and Scarlett have such a unique and beautiful story; everyone should read it. And not just skim through, you need to sink in and enjoy. The authors’ writing style is so emotional and passionate; you feel the characters as you read the story. I wish everyone could experience the deep love and devotion these characters have for each other. The intimate scenes are described with beautiful detail and grace. And the words between two lovers make my heart melt…” What I have given you is so deeply concealed that even I can no longer touch it. This is why I cannot stop touching you. Wanting you. Not even for a moment. My life. My wife. Forever. Mine.” (deep sigh). If you don’t mind taking the time to read a beautiful love story than I highly recommend this book to you. Deserves way more than 5 stars

This series has definitely taken me by surprise. The second book showed a new side to both Brando & Scarlett. The twist, turns and angst was amazing. Plus there undeniable bond. The passion they have for one another is so addicting.

As the story continues to unfold, so do the secrets to a life Brando has kept under wraps.

Like the first book, you get bits and pieces of what Brando could be keeping from Scarlett and I can see it’s going to start falling together. Another amazing read. I’m loving these characters so much.

Stunning, this book is just stunning. I enjoyed it a lot more than the first book. I loved how much time had passed and that their connection was still so intense and strong. Brando and Scarlett are magnificent. Their love and passion is so fierce and beautiful. I enjoyed the flow and the pacing of the story. I am looking forward to the next book in the series. Bella Di Corte writing is striking and poetic.

I was gifted an ARC for an honest review.

These two need their heads banging together! The H gets stuck in his head and then ghosts the h, she stews rather than having it out with him. Still not sure these two are good together but you do get the feeling that they are destined. They are now in Italy, so expect his family will come in to play shortly which should make things interesting. Oh and I can not stand Nemours and I want to see him come completely unstuck.

Wow! What to say about this story?? OMG, I loved this story even more than Book I! Scarlett finds herself in Paris, far from Brando, but nothing has changed.

The yearning to marry him and claim our always burned as hot as the day I wanted always with him. In fact, if I were being honest, it burned even hotter. Nothing had changed for me but my address.

So much is going on in this story and this author writes in such a way that you feel yourself in the moment. You really can feel the love and passion between these characters!

"What I have given you is so deeply concealed that even I can no longer touch it. This is why I cannot stop touching you. Wanting you. Not even for a moment. My life. My wife. Forever. Mine.”

And now that I have seen the synopsis for Book III, I cannot wait to get my hands on the next segment of this wonderful story! I cannot recommend this enough!!

Bellaaaaa what are you doing to me? Let me begin by saying that I am invested. The snippets of this couple that I got in the Gangsters of New York series had already had me intrigued. In those books, they were married, living in HEA bliss, and Brando was part of the Fausti mafia family.

These books are like the prelude. We always see when characters are rich, living lavish lifestyle, and embedded in the dark happenings of mafia men. We hardly ever get to read about the time before these men became the great men we know and love. This series is doing exactly that! We meet Brando as a young adult, floating by on life. I can't wait to read more about how fate works to give us his story.

In this story, Brando is yet again sacrificing more of himself to give Scarlett the future he thinks she deserves. She's living in Paris, away from him, and over 3 years later they reconnect. Yes, 3 years later! Talk about sacrifice! Their reconnection isn't perfect, but how could it be? This is a couple that's clearly meant to go through hell to get to the other side. And the hell this author is writing for them is angsty AF.

No, their story doesn't end with this book. This is an ongoing saga of 8 books, so jump on the bandwagon if you want to read something extraordinary!

I feel like I am getting close. Then things seem to get thicker, more intense, more. The story continues. The lives between them grows. The connection became more. The story grew and became more. The characters became more. I still want more from this one. Its not over. Its only book two of seven. We have a long way to go. The depth of this relationship has not been explored or exposed.

And it just keeps getting better! Brando and Scarlett are not just the hero and heroine of this story, they have become so much more... they are people you know as well as your own family, your best friends, maybe even more, and you become so invested in their story.

The connection between Brando and Scarlett is fierce and yet both have their insecurities and vulnerabilities. Scarlett is Brando's vulnerability. He wants to do right by her; not hold her back. He wants her to dance and have the fame, the acclaim he knows she deserves. But in doing so, he must let her go away. Brandon's other vulnerability is his father who wants his "bastardo" son to take his place in the famiglia so badly that he makes his son question whether he is good enough for Scarett and won't just end up hurting her in the end. Scarlett's vulnerabilities are the people who want to use her and her talents for their own ends... her mother, Pnina, who believes the only way to make her own mother (Scarlett's grandmother who was also a famous ballerina) proud is by her daughter achieving the acclaim that Pnina never had the talent to achieve; and later, Olivier Nemour who wants to use Scarlett's talents to achieve his own fame and fortune. She is also insecure when apart from Brando doubting his love when he stays away.

If there are two people you love to hate in this story it is Olivier Nemour and Pnina, who betrays her own daughter by signing a contract with Nemour on her behalf while she still had power of attorney to do so, not realizing what she actually got her daughter into.

You will feel their despair and sadness when apart, you will feel their joy when back together. You will feel her anger at him for staying away and his regret and penance when he realizes that she was not happy any thriving in his absence. And yet, while both suffered apart, you will also see their strength to persevere in the face of sadness, loneliness and anguish. You will see it and feel it all. And you will love every moment with them as they fight to be together against the people and forces trying to keep them apart for their own selfish purposes with unexpected support from Maja Resnick (the grandmother) who sees more of just her ballerina-self in her granddaughter.

The last part of this story has taken them to Italy and deciding to stay rather than go back to Paris. I am so looking forward to the next book (#3 The Royals of Italy) as I suspect we are going to finally be meeting the powerful and ruthless Fausti famiglia and I'm so hoping they will give Olivier Nemour exactly what he deserves. Also looking forward to Scarletts reaction when she finds out exactly who and what they really are. (I suspect she might not take it as badly as everyone thinks she would...Scarlett is stronger than people believe and she's been through so much that I think she might relish the idea of having such a powerful family to watch her and Brando's back). On to #3!

#464 Great Story Beautifully Told! 🎧📚🎧Brando💘Scarlett!

Queen of Thorns
The Fausti Family, Book 2
By: Bella Di Corte
Narrated by: Antonio Amato, Verla Bond

Brando and Scarlett Rose’s mesmerizing story continues in this second book of the “Fausti Family” series, it best to read or listen to the first book “Man of Honor” first, not only is that book amazing but it lays down the foundation for the series. Brando knew Scarlett Rose was his the moment he laid eyes on her, but he had to let her go out in to the world and be who she was, a ballerina, one to share her talent with the world. Brando was born a Fausti, but he wants nothing to do with that part of the family, an organized crime family. While Scarlet was off in Paris doing her thing, he was off doing his, and got some training for a decent career. Three and a half years away from Scarlett was tough for him, but he was ready to make her his. She wanted him but he pushed her away and he was expecting her to welcome him with open arms, but his antics annoyed her which caused her to push back but he is not giving up on her and he is not letting anyone else get in between them too. It was great to watch these two finally unite despite the obstacles that come their way. The character development and layers to this beautifully told and plotted story is amazing, and I am looking forward to what comes next for these two. I have a feeling more trouble is brewing and they will face more obstacles, her mother’s deal with the devil and that contract is just the start of it. I have faith in Brando and Scarlett though, their love is strong and love rules. Bella Di Corte, thank you for another amazing story and emotional rollercoaster ride.

🎧📚🎧 And for the wonderful narration, Verla Bond and Antonio Amato continue to do an amazing job of bringing these characters and their story to life. They have a complete understanding of the characters they are portraying, giving each a voice that is a perfect fit to that character’s persona, accent, and all. I am loving how they took each role and made it their own, grew as the characters grew. They set the perfect tone for the story, captured all the character’s emotions and projected them into their performance, having you feel every single one. These talented voice artists are entertaining storytellers and a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for another fabulous listen.

Scarlett’s pain was so tangible in the beginning of this story. She is a famous ballet dancer in Paris. She has roommates, and is so strong, but gosh I felt like she was exiled. I don’t think I felt that at the end of Man of Honor. I knew Brando was making the best decision, but I felt like I really saw more of Scarlett in this book. All I wanted was for her beast to return, to claim her. I started to understand that Scarlett wasn’t afraid of his darkness that lingered in his eyes, his body, his hands. In fact you see a darker side to her in this book.

SO many vivid scenes. An underground, secret club in Paris, where she became a star. She had two sides the famous ballet dancer on stage, and a reckless soul at night. A promise to never dance like that other than for Brando, became her weapon. The plot thickens here. Who she meets and why sets it all off.

Brando, Brando, Brando. (Because no one can say his name just once) I am still all for him. I know he made the best decision, was it hard? YES. Did it break me? YES. But everything that is happening I believe has to be endured. There is something darker being created here, and it’s almost like they are preparing for battle, for love.

He wants to be a better man because he is in love with such a good woman. He would kill for her, He is a beautiful, sexy, good hero. But he is like that meme, I think he would shoot the sun if it was too bright for Scarlett’s eyes. He is denying something about his family, about himself, while jumping into Alaskan waters, riding adrenaline, little did he know going to Scarlett in Paris what danger was going to get him going. I don’t just mean the villains. I mean Scarlett in garter belts, making him wait, and burn. Rightfully so.

The danger and intimacy is turned up. My obsession grows.
The Fausti Family Saga is hauntingly beautiful. Scarlett and Brando may be opposites to the eyes, light vs. dark, but their souls see one another, it mirrors one another, its deeper than anything I have ever read.

This is the second book in the series and they need to read in order.
Brando Fausti has worked hard to earn enough money to begin to provide a life for Scarlett Rose Poesy and now he is ready to come for her after 2 ½ years of being apart.
Scarlett Rose Poesy has spent the past few years becoming a ballerina in Paris and living out the dream of her grandmother, Maja Resnik, and her own mother. She is doing well but misses Brando and her friends. When Brando arrives in Paris can he convince Scarlett to give their love another chance? When Scarlett finds herself being courted by Oliver Nemours as well, will she follow her own heart or will she do what is expected of her?
When Brando’s name is linked to a powerful Italian mafia will this set him on a different course?
I wasn’t too sure what to expect with this second book but I found that I really enjoyed it and that it had some twists and turns that I was not expecting.
I liked Brando and I liked that he was trying to do things the right way with Scarlett and that meant
initially giving her up but he had always planned on going back for her. He loved Scarlett more than
anything and wanted to give her the life she deserved.
Scarlett was living a life that everyone else seemed to want. She did what was expected of her but she was missing Brando and had trouble finding happiness when he wasn’t around.
There was definitely some mystery surrounding Oliver and Emory Nemours and how they tied into the Brando and Scarlett. I really didn’t like Oliver and for awhile I was worried about him “winning” Scarlett especially after one incident at the club.
I loved that Scarlett and Brando found their happiness but I was sad at what happened after.
I was so mad at Scarlett’s mom for signing the contract and what that did to Scarlett at the end of the book.
I’m wondering if the next book will be getting darker and moving Brando towards his family in Italy. By Rebecca

So this book is set 3 and a half years later, that is how much detail has gone into theses books. This series just gets better and better.
Brando is so perfect, he is a dream.

I knew there was drama coming but omg, my heart broke at one point. The words bella wrote hurt a lot.!!!

If you read the first book you will know Brando has his demons, one of them is his father, and his father's world that he tries to stay away from, Scarlett knows nothing of this world (mafia world) Brando has kept in her in the dark for many reason. He's always had a plan and he made an arrangement with her mother. In this book Brando believes Scarlett needs to live her dream for a while and that is without him. She ends up in Paris, honestly reading this part of the book I felt like I was there with her. She find herself heart broken, he promised her so much. She ends up angry. She ends up doing some things and obviously Brando being the controlling and possessive man he is, he knows some of the things she done while they have been part. He ends up going to Paris.
That's all I can say without giving so much away.

In this book there is so much back and forth between them. They can't seem to find the right path so for a little while they live there owns life.

I love this book so much, everything about it is truly stunning. It hurt, it made me laugh and it made me fall in love more with Brando.

"How I don't love you enough to send my soul to hell. And I did."

"F**k. This kid is toxic. No wonder the kid eats his boogers."

“When we are at war, our bodies are the weapons, and I’ll fuck you like it’s a battle. And I’ll conquer. When we make love, you have my surrender. But always, I’ll love you more than the air that I breathe. La mia vita.”

And the story/drama continue.... Scarlett is very curious and does not need to left on her own, every. She can walk right into trouble without a thought. Enter Neumours. Scarlett can see/feel things with everyone except herself. I can see why Brando gets so frustrated with her. You can't help but love these two, they are made for each other. Scarlett has a way of bringing out his father in him... Even though Brando may want nothing to do with his family, as this story unfolds you find out he's more like his dad then he cares to admit. He meets his fratello's,/brothers, Rocco, Dario and Romeo, and his Nonno, Marzio. Probably not the way he would have chosen to meet them but, he met them. Rosaria, (Rocco's wife) something is definitely got some crazy going on with her. Thankfully, Brando and his brothers find their connection and become close. Brand and Scarlett get married, Scarlett sees ghost, Pnina, Scarlett's mom is so focused on Scarlett being a big star, signs a contract w/o reading it and puts her daughter in Neumours' hands. All because she's determined to live the life she wanted thru Scarlett. All the while treating her as an enterprise instead of her child. That seems to be her crown and glory regarding Scarlett. Good thing Brando is there to put the brakes on that one.

First off, I gotta say that the cover of this book is just STUNNING!!! Hands down, that girl is fierce!! This is the continuation of Brando and Scarlett's love story.. If you've read book 1 then you know what happened at the end of it, if not, go back and read book 1 before starting this one. We start out in beautiful Paris and Scarlett has made a name for herself with her dancing. There's a reason why Brando calls her "My Ballerina Girl." She has a gift and moves just like her gifted Grandma. She entrances the people of Paris with the way she moves. While investigating her family, she meets a man who is just pure evil. I swear, I hated this man!! He makes her dance and I gotta say it's creepy down where she is. I wouldn't want to go there. In this book though, Brando has to show Scarlett that he still loves her and has that connection. He made the biggest mistake letting her go but he proves after some great advice to show her how much he truly cares. I will say I love the fire that Scarlett has in this book and just in general. She doesn't let people just walk all over her. Once she is determined in something, she does it with 100% and doesn't let it go. This series just keeps getting better and better! I love these two together and how the author shows their connection.
