Say Your Prayers

Rate this book
Hell has taken over. And Earth’s last sanctuary doesn’t stand a chance.

A young woman with horns was the last person Father Stavros expected to see approaching his gate, begging for sanctuary. As a man of God, he learned to never turn away someone in need, especially after Hell’s Rising. But the sinful cravings that follow him and his fellow priests are a whole new obstacle. The horned woman is a succubus--aligned with the very evil they are the last stronghold against.

Which begs the question, why would a succubus seek refuge in a church?

Spat up from Hell, Deyva’s arrival has made the three priests of Bethel question everything from their faith, their integrity, and the very enemy they face. She may not actually be a monster, but a person truly in need of protection, in need of love, and that rattles the Fathers to their very foundations.

When Hell’s Kingdom sends the least likely adversary to Bethel’s gate to retrieve the wayward succubus, the priests are faced with a choice. Throw Deyva back to the pit that spat her out, and take a final stance against Hell with everything they’ve got. Or protect her, give in to their feelings, and risk losing the last grip on their faith.

Say your prayers. You’ll need them.

From the minds of Crystal Ash and Kathryn Moon, Say Your Prayers is an unapologetically steamy and deliciously sinful reverse harem romance. This standalone novel includes M/M content, jaded priests who love as hard as they fight, a snarky angel with questionable morals, and one pretty adorable succubus.

5 stars - my only complaint is the cover didn’t tell me there was more than 1 priest in the story. 😈

Reverse harem in a post-apocalyptic/hell on earth setting, featuring a succubus who seeks sanctuary with 3 priests, and a horny angel that shows up later to shake things up. 😇

Listen, this story is not going to be for everyone. But if you can past it unashamedly adapting Christian mythology for a reverse harem romance, you’re in for a wildly entertaining read!

The main characters were all fleshed out and well-written. I loved all of them but had a soft spot for Azariah, because I also don’t want to choose between being a petty bitch or having someone help me. 🤣

Each of the relationships (and there were many combos!) had a surprising amount of development. I liked how, despite the relationships being heavy on the sex (most real quote: “Um, am I the only one who’s not clear on the geometry?”), there was a lot of affection underlying all the interactions once they got together.

The plot was also perfect for this sort of story — not too complicated that it overshadowed what we were here for 😏, but enough structure and momentum to make it to be an engaging read.

P.S. For what it’s worth, I don’t think the book made fun of religion, and it depicted faith and community spirit in a very positive way.

If this book was one thing, it was F**king NAUGHTY! I mean can it get any naughtier than a succubus (demon from hell) corrupting not one but three priests and even an angel. This book is definitely not for religious people at all. As I'm far from religious I loved all the insane kinky liberties the authors took with the subject and ran with. I enjoyed the book I thought it was fun on top of kinky as hell. I wish there was a bit more action given it's the apocalypse but much of the book is spent on the flourishing relationship between Devya and her men. It was a bit long but I was engaged throughout even when the action was minimal. There's a lot of character development and evolution going on particularly for the youngest of the priests Zach who is a devout man and a virgin. Let the corruption begin. Great read, full of equal opportunity lovin' and everything a RH book should be.

Warning label one: if you’re not a fan of faith, priests, and crucifixes being used in creative ways, put this book down lest ye burst into flame.

Warning label two: Reading Say Your Prayers may result in some very uncomfortable confessions to atone for.

Now I lay me down to sleep, I pray the Lord these men to keep...

Ash & Moon have crafted a wickedly naughty and deliciously sinful story in Say Your Prayers. From the first moments, I was intrigued, loving the initial setup for Deyva. Don't get me wrong, I do love the anti-hero, those damnable creatures that appeal to the dark parts of us all, but Deyva is the other kind that I love: the damned who want something more for themselves, to bask in the pureness of what life has to offer instead of glutting themselves on pain and everything depraved. I’ve been in love with the idea of a succubus who wants to be loved since I first read Georgina Kincaid a decade ago.

Kais, Stavros, Zach, and Azariah are a motley mix of command, care, enthusiastic naïveté, and horny snark, that is sure to have you laughing, sighing, and thinking about those earlier mentioned uncomfortable confessions. With MM and a curious virgin thrown into the mix, the s*xy times in Say Your Prayers do not disappoint. Even if you’re not the biggest fan of MM, there’s a little something to leave all kinds of readers satisfied.

Outside of the s*x, the characters are still likable. Even though this is a stand-alone, Moon & Ash did a nice job with giving us a core foundation for each person, so they’re more than just a priest fetish and a c*ck. They have some baggage, some weaknesses, and something to both give to and gain from Deyva, making the group fit together like a sometimes messy (in the fun way) puzzle.

It’s also worth noting that we’ve got a complete plot. I’ll say it once, and I’ll say it in a million reviews- stand-alones scare me. I’m always worried I’m going to be disappointed because I didn’t get a full story, but Say Your Prayers left me happy and definitely feeling like the plot had what it needed.

Overall, this is a 4.5 for me. As far as Moon & Ash’s book lists go, it wouldn’t be my first pick for a reread craving, but that really speaks much more to the allure that Moon’s Lola duet and Ash’s Steel Demons have than it does to anything lacking in Say Your Prayers. DOUBLY worth noting, because this is important to my nit picky brain, is that the writing is nice and smooth despite this being the duo’s first co-write project. Sometimes, the glaring difference between who must’ve wrote what is so bright that it’s distracting and takes away from the reading experience, but I DID NOT feel that with this book. I might have a tiny guess, if I absolutely had to choose which author might’ve had more control of a character’s voice, but they really worked together so seamlessly that it was a pleasure to read. I wouldn’t know it was a co-write if I hadn’t been told.

I guess the takeaway is- read Say Your Prayers, apologize to your priest, and don’t ever open this book in the back row of a pew while you’re bored during Sunday mass.

Why Choose (MF, MM, MFMMM)
Post Apocalypse
Priests / Succubus / Angel
Beyond Sacrilegious
Lots of Funny Banter
Virgin MMC (Priest, so...)
Horny Angel Spice!

Well... its probably a good thing I'm not religious, because if I was I'm pretty sure this book would have made me hold my bible close. My goodness... there are some scenes that will make you pause and think.... surely they won't go there! Yup, they did. This was great though, really fun!

Hell has taken over the land, and there are pockets of humans left just trying to make it through life. In this town, there are 3 warrior Priests that protect the locals. There is a Succubus that has invaded their dreams and once she is thrown out of Hell, its only natural she heads for her dream team of hot priests. Throw in a super horny fallen angel that just wants to earn his freedom, and also possibly bang a priest, and you have the makings for a wild ass, entertaining ride.

Underneath all the steam, there is a good action filled story. Well paced, never boring. Also, there is actually a little bit of tenderness and positivity about faith (believe it or not) and strength of humanity. Felt good to read that right now.

This was... a book.

I don't know if maybe it's because I wasn't as obsessed with Rooksgrave Manor as my friends, but this book got really grating and boring after a while - I read the last 30% with not a single emotion other than "okay let's get to the end."

I think the problem here is it's like the book wants the best of both worlds - it wants instalove with these characters while drawing out the beginning of each relationship for drama and plot - and when you're gonna have a relationship of like 5 people it just gets so tedious after a while.

Also, I think with a different writing style I could get behind the priest / succubus thing but I think this writing style is just too corny for me. Immediately after fucking these dudes are like "hey babe!" and I just hate that LOL. I'm also not the biggest fan of the "well my boyfriend is so hot" three seconds after they enter a relationship - it feels really juvenile. I want priests that are broody and full of self annoyance for their desires and don't immediately switch into being a teenage boy when they touch a boob, if that makes sense LOL

Say Your Prayers by Crystal and Kathryn is a paranormal RH (stand alone? Though I admit I would love for this to be a series!).

This book is hot! It's sexy and has a story that just has you rooting for the characters, laughing at Az's antics, and thinking you need to go check out the nearest Catholic church to look for hot priests.

After being tossed out of Hell, Deyva goes to the one place sage from hellions. Bethel is a city protected by three warrior priests who happen to be the same three priests Deyva has visited in their dreams.

So many laugh out loud moments in this book, so many sexy times too. Love every second of it!

☆ Deyva - fallen First Daughter aka succubus, was in Hell and thrown out

• Zach - the sweet virgin priest

• Stavros - the loving wandering priest

• Kais - the military strategist priest

• Azariah - the fallen angel given a chance to get out of his current situation in Hell

Releases on October 23rd!

*MM & Reverse Harem Romance, Apocalypse, angels-demons, Erotica, religious theme *

So, I usually adore Kathryn Moon, she's skilled at delivering Reverse Harem Romances that are well written with a gripping plot. In Say Your Prayers she writes with Crystal Ash, an unknown to me author. They're a good team, it's seamless. However, I purely enjoyed this book for its debauchery element not so much for its plot or its characters. To be honest, other than the shock factor of three of the love interests being priests & getting it on in interesting locations, there wasn't much more to the characters, in my opinion. I simply didn't connect with any of them. I mean the mc was tortured in hell and I felt no emotion. So... as a purely enjoyable fluffy read with a ton of great sex scenes, it excels. As a gripping story with interesting characters, it wobbles precariously. However, I recommend it because it's a fun read ^^

3 stars for the story and 1 extra for the well written romance scenes!

This book was just what I wanted, an apocalypse story with a succubus, angel, demons, and some sexy men. It gets into the plot quickly and the pacing was pretty good. I liked that the men had very different personalities and it was easy to remember who was who. Deyva was a fun character, she's smart and cunning, a good fighter and not shy about anything. She clicked with the guys and was willing to defend them with her life.

The pairings in this were my favorite, not just male and female and I liked how the guys interacted with each other. The last steamy scene of the book is intense and exactly what I was hoping for. I will be checking out more books from these ladies!

Surprisingly sweet read for being so smutty.

SYP is an enjoyable joint effort from Ms. Ash and Ms. Moon about a small enclave of humanity in literal Hell on Earth, three priests, a succubus, and an only slightly tainted angel. A lot of sexy times ensue. Holy Orgies, indeed. A very fun and playful take on Judeo-Christian mythology and love of all kinds, even during the apocalypse.

All of the main characters are pretty distinctive with differing personalities—though the secondary human "townies" cast could have been a bit more robust (lots of Jealous Bitches™ and Horny Dudes™ with very little else)—that do lean a bit too hard on tropes at times, pacing was pretty good all around—but the middle does lag and stagnate while characters spin their wheels in thought pattern ruts— and a cheesy, over-the-top ending that I wasn't able to suspend my belief in and fully buy.

But.

A really good time, even with all that.

And. Bonus points for all of the demonic descriptions in here. It was nice to see the effort put into those.

Funny and emotional. I really liked how the relationship came about as it wasn't easy and they had to get over themselves. It is a truly interesting world and I'd love to learn more or read another book in this world. It is post-apocalyptic with demons roaming. It is slightly religious as the heroes are priests and there are angels. So, keep that in mind going in.

There are some deeper and sadder moments, but also lighter one that made me laugh. It is a really good mix.

The main character is a succubus so as expected plenty of sex or sexual references. The guys are priests so strong on religion too, it’s not just a backdrop porno. Four guys, multiple POV and pretty heavy on the M/M.

Bit of everything from the guys. Az the fallen angel that has to bring Deyva back to save himself and Stavros a priest that is the most relaxed out of the three. Then there’s Kais the grumpy protective priest and Zach the really religious one that only sees black and white. Add to that their flock, survivors from the apocalypse.

It feels like an awkward established relationship from the start but interesting to see how the three react to their fantasy being real. Stavros was pretty easy going and Kais as you can expect from the protective suspicious one. For quite a bit I couldn’t stand Zach, he would be the one most likely to be a cult leader if left alone, the same with Az for his pretending.

I did enjoy the story and the characters by the end, although I did take a break when Deyva decided to go the sacrifice route, so was glad when that quickly resolved itself but the cross sex was awkward. Just thinking of the hygiene of that makes me cringe.

Mostly solid end which could only be sex after the main battle and the only way to improve it was an orgy before reward. Good book.

Ok. Weird. But hot.
And funny, too.

I had a pretty damn good time reading this book.
The characters are all unique, and I’ve never read anything like this when it comes to what each of them are.
I mean. A succubus, 3 priests, and a fallen angel. That’s sort of hilarious if you think about it too much.

The sex was hot as hell. Obviously.
The relationships were complicated but really sweet and full of affection and passion.
The plot was interesting and fun and sort of acted as a background to their relationship, which I appreciated since this could’ve become something much different if it didn’t.

I really liked it.
I’m glad I picked it up.
It was a fun ride.

Please, Father

Please?! Please can I have more?! I haven’t read Crystal North’s other books, but I’ve been obsessed with Kathryn Moon for ages. This book has the same, immersive world-building that I’ve come to expect from Kathryn, and I’m planning to dive into some of Crystal’s since she had a hand in building Bethel. This book is irreverent in the best ways, I mean, it’s very clear from the blurb that some vows are taken very loosely. However, there are also poignant moments of love and an undercurrent of faith that keep the book from seeming too dark or hopeless. I’m not even going to go into a synopsis or character analysis. Although I will say that every one of these characters is written with imperfections evident, but it makes them so much deeper and realistic, even within the context of an apocalyptic town facing demon uprisings. Oh, plus the action in the book is sinfully decadent, so that is also a huge plus. These ladies definitely make a dream team pair!

I expected pure smut but was pleasantly surprise that there was a plot, and a story and actual feelings being developped between the characters.
In short, this book takes place in a postapocalyptic world where Hell has literally broken loose on earth. People have found shelter in churches. In this specific one, three fathers are keeping their floke safe fighting the demons with water guns full of holy water. Yes you read that right.

Their somewhat peace is ruined by the arrival of Deyva, a succubus who has been tortured for centuries in Hell and is seeking shelter. After a rough start, the fathers will see that Deyva is not the ennemy and might actually be an amazing ally. Only problem is that she needs to feed and our priests are willing to sacrifice themselves for the greater good.

Well what can I say but this was hot and definitely not Holy. I liked the characters and how she was actually one of the first and not the demon we were lead to believe. The demons were horrid and the descriptions really did paint the picture for us. I liked how the priests resisted at first and it wasn't instant. The book was long but I didn't really get bored. The story line was a little weak in places. My favorite was Zach. I liked the humor throughout and how even in the end her and the Angel had a certain banter between them.

OH MY HOT DELICIOUS DEBAUCHERY *panting* This book will demolish your panties and get you dreaming of dirty warrior priests and six foot something with with feathers. (Warning: might cause drooling)

The authors managed to write a scorching hot book infused with sweetness and faith of humans will to fight. They all kicked some serious demon butt. I just couldn't put the book down. Woohoo!!

The ending *sigh* it was absolutely perfect!!!!

This book is a naughty must! Hurry up and one-click it! You won't be disappointed!

Favourite quote:
“Behold! My holy staff!” I cried, grinning down at Deyva. Who promptly burst into uncontrollable giggles.

⭐️ 4.25/5
🌶 4/5
Genre: paranormal romance RH

Three priests, a succubus and an angel walk into a bar post apocalyptic settlement and kick some demon ass.

That's the premise of this completely blasphemous gem of a book. Filled with amazing smut, great humour and lovable characters.

This sat in my library for quite some time but oh boy am I happy I read it! I love all the characters and this was such a fun read.

I love Kathryn Moon but Crystal Ash was a new author for me. I think this duo did a great job and will look into Crystal's work some more!

HOLY FUCK.

that's it. that's the review.

This is the kind of book that makes you want to hide it in the deepest recesses of your shelves AND you definitely don't want anyone reading your annotations because it will call everything into question.

What a wild journey this book was.

Yes, it definitely rendered me speechless.
Yes, was blasphemous in all ways imaginable.
And I— should I be concerned that I am actually liking books like this?

My only regret is that I began reading this on weekends; now, when I go to church, I can't look at the altar in the same way.

CERTAINLY, the cross scene absolutely petrified me more than the knife and gun scene in Den of Vipers. I feel like I need to bathe — and drown , if possible — myself in holy water after finishing this because I can already see my soul burning from the deepest pit of hell. I feel as if I should repent or something.

Maybe He was testing me. And indeed, forgive me Father for I have failed.

I'd like to highlight one of the themes in this book: Zach's personality has left a significant impact on me; reading a character who goes through the same crap as me makes me feel validated. As someone who grew up in a religious household and closeted bisexual, I definetly appreciate the representation.

I was actually torn on weather to rate this book 3.5 or 4 stars b/c there were obviously loopholes and inconsistency— most especially with the timeline and the personality of the characters,, but gave up on a whole four stars just because I think I found a new guilty pleasure of mine 💀

Y'all, this book had me giggling . Seriously, what is funnier than three priests, a succubus, and a horny bisexual angel?

Something about romance novels with priests has me slapping my goddamn knee. Nothing would make me question my faith more than a sexy af demoness with an awesome rack. Especially when she appears seeking refuge after being the star of your spicy dreams for a few weeks.

The writing of this wasn't phenomenal or anything, but this book still ended up being five stars. It had a silly yet interesting plot, top tier smut, and characters that I actually liked. The angel was literally my favorite character to ever grace the page of a book. Okay, that might be an exaggeration, but I still loved (and wished we got more of) him.

If you need a quick read that puts a dopey smile on your face, I recommend this. Apparently, Crystal Ash teaming up with Kathryn Moon is a god-tier combination for a reverse harem book.

PLSSS WHY WAS THIS SO LONG. I know I was obsessed with Rooksgrave Manor but this just didn't do anything for me.

At first I was like alright. I can dig a succubus / angel / priest romance but it quickly got SO tiring. They quickly jump to screwing and then acted like such goof asses after like ?? They were so immature and horny for what!! They see hot succubus and are like he he tit like... I just wanted the book to end but they really just kept going.

Then there was like 5 people in this relationship but it could have been 3 because all three priests were basically the same. At one point I was more interested in this post apocalyptic world being overrun by demons but then we just had to go back to them doing the sexy sex and how hot, sexy, and hungry the succubus was.

So much potential (but also not really).

It's been a few days since I finished this book. So this is going to be an absolute terrible review...

Deyva is a succubus who invaded the dreams of three priests where she dominated them in sexual acts. They, being priests, kept it to themselves for weeks while it happened. Then Deyva shows up in their little slice of protection asking for salvation from the demon who cast her out of Hell who was surely hunting her down.

Being the girl of their dreams the guys, Stav, Zach, and Kais were reluctant to let her in. I mean she was a demon after all. But being a succubus she needed to feed off of emotion, preferably through sex and Stav offered himself right up.

There was so much amazing smut in this story. I loved it. :)

This was good! I liked that it wasn't typical to most reverse harem stories I've read and didn't have everyone together in one big relationship and instead had a few separate relationships between the members of the group that were intertwined. The relationships and the story were largely enjoyable and fun, and the writing was good.

I did not care for how the FL began talking like a modern day teen/20something about 1/2 way through (which was called out by one of the MLs) when she had been trapped in hell for thousands of years. Why would she talk like a stereotypical "sassy" and "empowered" character, especially when she hadn't talked that way earlier in the story? It's an odd shift that happens pretty suddenly and doesn't make sense. Other than that though, a nice read!!!

Holy hotness!!!!!

Whoa! I loved this! Talk about mind blowing! This book was really crazy with a whole new look about succubus, angels, god, and the faithful. It had complications on many crazy topics and I know some where definitely as was stated, (clutching their pearls). And the sex scenes. " god almighty ".. I am known to skip some over ridiculous love making in books, you read one you've read them all kinda thing, this was not the case! I never knew I had a priest fetish! The sex between these characters had my eyes wide open and panting myself. Never has a sexual scene made me red hot and deliciously turned on! Seriously. Omg! A must read

I quite enjoyed this post apocalyptic Christian mythology monster romance. A succubus, fallen angel and three priests - you know it’s gonna be a good time.
It actually did manage to give all of the leads and some secondary characters somewhat of an arc. The action scenes were also well crafted and it did a good job on the pacing even considering how much was going on.
