Not what I expected but I'm glad I read it. It's easy to see where things stand today and forget the work and the struggle it took to get there.

Made me laugh, made me cry. Made me think about people I love. The most I've enjoyed a book in a while. Definitely going on the "to be re-read" list, and would recommend to anyone.

Excellent book! Very little business advice, much more of a road trip journal and chronicle of a dying marriage and a living company that consumed the author.

A heck of a read, well worth your time (and lots of cool pictures of America inside!)

An excellent memoir of a veteran who puts his life back together by starting a backpack company. If you love Veterans, America, Labrador Retrievers, and an uplifting ending- this is the Memoir for you!

Great to hear Jason's journey. Wish there was more about the company. The book is more about a travel journal than business book. Thoroughly enjoyed his story of love for his dog, Java, and his wife, Emily. I would like a follow up book about how the company grew.

I am a GORUCK fan and had thought this would be a detailed account of the challenges, setbacks, early wins associated with the business and how it evolved over time. That is not at all what this book is. It is part travel journal, part relationship diary, and part stream of consciousness prose.

A great read of an awesome story. I’ve used GORUCK bags for years, and it’s cool to see the humble beginnings of an awesome American brand.
