“Listen Scot, you are my secret weapon this year. For once in my life your overly good looks are going to pay off for me. I am going to strategically place you in the front row in her direct line of sight. Hence you stun her into an almost catatonic state while I swoop in for the kill!" "That's your plan Taylor? Well although I think I am offended, I'm only going along so I can once again clean up the mess Ms. Collins will leave once, she's trounced you. Also, to get a look at this Sophia Collins." When he turned his gaze to Sophia, he thought his heart stopped. Once more she was staring directly into his eyes. He appeared to have acquired tunnel vision and all sound had been sucked out of the concert hall. He felt as though he had been pinned to his seat by her beautiful gaze. She had shoulder-length hair that accentuated her perfectly heart shape face. Her skin was a perfect shade of Carmel he had ever seen. Those lips! He could see his entire future in those lips. A school debate changes the lives of Sophia Collins and Scottland James for the better. The begin a love journey that some will agree with, and others will try and put an end to. Tthrough it all Sophia and Scottland hold on to each other and recall it all as, 'A Special Time"
Cute story! I loved that there was little drama it gave us time to see a young relationship without all the angst you usually get, which I really liked. They really loved each other and chose each other over all others, to me, at their age, that was huge! Specially since it was so automatic, no question for him who to choose! Ok so reason for only 3 stars- The poor grammar, I swear I am not a grammar police it was just so constant that I actually wanted to go in and fix the problems. I don't usually care but it was a little painful. Loved the MCs and the story! Just hated the poor grammar. Recommend if you can stand the poor grammar! ( Also the age, they are beyond mature for their ages but they get married at 18, like on his 18th birthday but it totally felt like they were ready, which they prove they are.)
This showed up on my Kindle Unlimited and it had good reviews so I was like, "why not?" since it's been a while since I've read a romance between teens... and it reminded me why.
Honestly, the plot wouldn't be bad if it wasn't for the several editing mistakes and grammar errors in this book. Mistaking 'your' and 'you're' is not something I encounter often, not even in fanfiction.
This isn't a bad writer by any means, but I'd encourage them to get some beta readers to help with pace, smoothening plotlines that can come off unrealistic (which in this book, were several), and get a editor that will polish her work to its final form.
That being said, I did finish it and it wasn't painful to do so, so I think this author does have potential.
This was the most entertaining, sweet ,sexy and heartfelt all at the same time. The writer puts a new spin on young adult relationships. This was not only a story of soul mates but one of true appreciation. If you are looking for a good read one that's entertaining and good from start to finish, than this is the one.
I liked that there wasn’t any unnecessary drama. The author made a good job of describing both marriage and parenthood. Being teenagers whilst accomplishing both was an added layer. I guess if i have a few reservations it would be that 1/ they didn’t behave like teenagers at all in college in particular and 2/ that there wasn’t enough dialogue between the brothers or with their friends. As an aside after the trauma with Scottland I’m amazed that they went for a second pregnancy. Then again maybe it’s because they were young and optimistic.
I loved this book from the cover to the epilogue!! It's a testament that true deep heartfelt love can withstand anything if you work at it Scott fell in love with Sophia when they met at a debate in high school. They knew early on that they were it for each other. Their love and friendship would be tested time and again by family and foe. But through it all Scott and Sophia stayed steadfast and weathered the storms that came their way. I loved this storyline and reading about this couple's journey from teenagers to adults with adult responsibilities. The love they expressed to each other and to their friends and family was such a wonderful experience to read. This is the first book I've read by this author. But it will not be the last. If anyone is thinking whether or not to read this book I say definitely give this book a shot. It's full of deep emotional drama, passion, humor, sadness, joy, steamy love scenes, happiness and a awesome HEA. This book is so worthy of 5 ⭐'s. I highly highly recommend it.
I really enjoyed this book. It just seemed so pure to me. The love that Scott and Sophia shared just made me feel all warm and fuzzy inside. It broke my heart how Scott's parents started treating Sophia, like she was after his money when she was rich in her own right. I guess they figured because they were 18 that they didn't know what true love was or marriage. Their pettiness cost them to lose out on two years of their son's life. I'm glad everything was handle and apologies were accepted because Scott didn't play about his family.💛💛
As old as I am I still enjoy a story that starts when the couple is young. What I liked about this one was even though they were under18 when they met, they still knew what they wanted. Scot and Sophia were young and responsible. There was very little drama between the couple most of it was from the outside, but they supported each other and stayed strong. I really loved the story and will read it again. Just wonder why Tucker was never made a Godfather when he proved over and over that he was worthy.
A Special Time by T.M. Anderson is an enjoyable book with an old-fashioned vibe. While the book appears to have been first published in 2020, the language and vernacular could have come from thirty years ago (or more😊). When high school seniors Scottland James and Sophia Collins meet, for him it is love at first sight. He is mature for his age and is sure that his love for her is genuine. Will parental interference and their young age keep them apart? The story was pleasant if somewhat improbable…both young people were VERY independently wealthy, but they were both likable and their story was engaging. https://theretiredreader.com/f/a-spec...
That is the only way to describe this book. This is an awesome story. The love that radiated from this story was so strong, it felt as if you were there with them. This is an excellent shut in story. I almost didn't read it when I found out they were in high school, but it progressed. I loved this book. I love how they support each other, trusted each other. This was fiction, but felt real. Do not miss reading this book.
This is a quirky little story that I enjoyed. Scottland, loved loved that name, supported the young woman he loved. They had a neck of a relationship and he tolerated no disrespect to her from his parents. Sophia and Scotty,as she called him were a match made in heaven. Their firstborn Scottland Jr was priceless. I will reread this many more times as it is a definite feel good for me
What a great read. Funny in most parts, and touching in others. I understood Scott’s and his parents’ views, but was a bit disappointed on how they reacted and was happy that they over came.
I was disappointed that this author did not have anymore books available and hope more are released someday.
This my first book by this author and it is awesome book. I really enjoyed it. You went on a journey with the characters. The chemistry between Sophia and Scott was smoking hot. The relationship was beautiful. The storyline was believable and I could not put it down. I highly recommend this book you will not regret reading it.
I liked and loved this story all at the same time. Scott knew Sophia was who he wanted and needed in his life at first glance. They had some obstacles overcome, and Scott proved his love for Sophia like a grown a$$ man.
First time reading a book from this author. Great story! I live stories that start in youth and move to adulthood. Even loved the side characters and Scott's brothers especially Caleb and Michael.
I thoroughly enjoyed this novel. It was well written, realistic to today's life occurrences. The love these characters had for one another was profound.
